The 5 largest yachts at Yachts Miami Beach

A big weekend for boating shows in Miami

An aerial of a white superyacht

We’re approaching an action-packed weekend for winter events in South Florida, with the Miami Beat Show (at Virginia Key), Yachts Miami Beach (Mid-Beach and Watson Island), and the Coconut Grove Arts Festival (Bayshore Drive) being held simultaneously.

With the 29th Annual Yachts Miami Beach, a slew of imposing superyachts have been swarming Miami marinas of late, including the 236-foot Axioma , which has been in town for at least a month now and has a history of hosting Celebrity clientele, including members of the Kardashian clan.

Axioma will be the largest superyacht at Yachts Miami Beach , which takes place from Thursday through the weekend on Collins Avenue in Mid-Beach, across from the Eden Roc and Fontainebleau hotels.

Let us introduce the five largest superyachts at this year’s event, led by Axioma. All are currently docked at the Island Gardens Deep Harbour on Watson Island, just off the McArthur Causeway en route to Miami Beach.

Meet Victorious, the Largest Yacht in Miami

' src=

If you’re in Miami, you may want to take a look at Victorious , at 278 feet and 11 inches long the largest boat in the boat show there. It’s over at the superyacht show on Watson Island, where tickets go for $135, but it takes up so much waterfront you can see it easily from Miami.

If you have to ask, you can’t afford it, but Victorious is for sale for $129 million. (It’s been on the charter market for $950,000 a week.)

Even as one of the world’s largest superyacht, Victorious is a bit over the top. It has a helipad on the foredeck that doubles as a dance floor, three swimming pools, an owner’s suite on the bridge deck with its own Jacuzzi and sun lounges, a gym, wellness center, wine cellar, two wood-burning fireplaces, a beauty salon, several bars, a beach club, and a small armada of tenders that includes a custom 41-foot aluminum cat and a 38-foot Fountain.

biggest yacht miami

The accommodations include room for 24 guests in 12 staterooms, but the best room in the house seems to be the sky lounge up top, an observation lounge with wraparound views, a baby grand piano, a formal dining room and a smaller lounge with a bar.

All this is powered by twin 1,475-hp Cats, delivering a top speed of 17 knots. The yacht has an amazing range of 14,000 nm at 13 knots (fuel capacity: 69,847 gallons).

And Victorious comes with an unusual back story. It started out at Marco Yachts in Chile under the name Gin Tonic II , but the owner ran out of money. Graeme Hunt bought it unfinished and had it towed to New Zealand. Then Vural Ak, a Turkish entrepreneur who owns the racetrack for the Turkish Formula 1 Grand Prix, bought it half completed from Hunt in 2016 and had it towed to Turkey. The Turkish yard Akyacht finally launched it in 2021; it won the prize for Motor Yacht Over 80 Meters at The International Yacht & Aviation Awards 2022.

SuperYacht Miami , a short ferry ride from the Miami Yacht Show in downtown Miami, was a refuge. Compared to the busier, motoryacht-intensive show on Herald Plaza, the superyacht display at Island Gardens Marina had a dozen large yachts, either for charter or sale, and a handful of brokers and crew ready to show them to visitors. We had a chance to tour six of the best at the show, both new launches and older yachts that have undergone refits, ranging from a 280-foot SilverYacht that resembles a sci-fi battleship to a 248-foot Lürssen with a classic exterior and interior. The range of types, considering the number at the show, was impressive. Here were our six favorites.

SilverYachts’ ‘Bold’—280 Feet

Photo superyacht Oceanco © Guillaume Plisson

Owners, brokers and other protectors of any superyacht collection tend to cringe when visitors pick a favorite, but my favorite superyacht among the ones we visited at Superyacht Miami was, far and above, Bold . We have written about the 280-footer built at the Silver yard in Australia several times, but there’s an extra thrill to stepping aboard and seeing the contrast between its gray battleship exterior and the interior’s vibrant colors and open spaces.

Launched last May, the Espen Oeino design is for charter but her owner, who also owns the shipyard, plans to spend much more time aboard her this year, as she travels around the world. The owner’s rep warned that any potential charterer will have to be “flexible” when trying to charter Bold , probably having to book closer to the requested dates, rather than months ahead, because the owner may himself want to use her.

This is the owner’s second SilverYacht, the first being Silver Fast. Bold couldn’t be more different. The explorer look includes a long, open aft deck with a helicopter landing pad, deck space for the yacht’s tenders and toys, and a hangar to protect the chopper on long voyages. The hangar doubles as a nightclub when the helicopter is away.

Bold ’s interior is a colorful contrast to the gray exterior. The main interior salon is bright and open, defined by its media wall and lounges and other décor that are the owner’s favorite royal blue. That blue is the common thread across other areas of the yacht. The salon opens into the award-winning winter garden, a large space with floor-to-ceiling windows that open or close with the push of a button. The design offers climate control and exceptional views of the water. It also seats 18 people for dinner.

The owner has a separate deck, with a master suite, private terraces and office and salon. Seven other en-suite staterooms provide accommodations for 14 more guests. On the top sundeck is a Jacuzzi with lounges and exceptional views of the water. The yacht’s minimal 9-foot draft allows it to get into waters that would be forbidden to other vessels that large.

Delta’s ‘Usher’—146 Feet

biggest yacht miami

The owner of Usher , launched by Delta Marine in 2007 and refitted in 2017, is a serial yachtsman. He owns eight other vessels that keeps in mint condition since purchasing them. One includes the 146-foot Feadship Harle , while the rest of the fleet is comprised of a Grand Banks trawler, Azimut S 72, 42-foot custom catamaran and others.

Usher ’s current owner purchased her from a gentleman with a casino empire. The 154-foot yacht was so eclectic that he decided to buy her on the spot. She has five cabins for up to 12 guests, with a charter crew of 11. There’s an elevator, gym, WiFi and multiple lounges, both in the main salon as well as the sun and bridge decks, but the true charm is the interior.

In the wrong hands, the Polynesian theme could’ve been a disaster, but Delta did a masterful job blending seven hardwoods, the patterned carpeting, vibrant, colored tiles and dozens of other materials. The inlays in the wood are intricate and the color schemes, sometimes matching bright red and dark browns, work.

With so many materials, Usher could’ve been a hot mess, but she is attractive in her own inimitable way. Probably the best example is the master suite, which has a rich wood interior and stained-glass skylight above the bed. Dual wooden sinks in the his-and-hers bathrooms, along with a hand-hammered copper bathtub, give a sense of the yacht’s obsession with details.

Among the eclectic details: The original owner also set up Usher so he could fish from a fighting chair on the transom, but these days, fishing takes place aboard the 35-foot Scout tender.

Lürssen’s ‘Bella Vita’—248 Feet

biggest yacht miami

The 248-foot Bella Vita (ex. Northern Star) by Lürssen Yachts has a navy hull and white superstructure, with spacious outdoor areas on five decks, including the upper sky deck, as well as a touch-and-go helipad. The yacht’s interior is as traditional as the exterior, with beige and off-white finishes on the wainscoting and furniture, along with surprises like a piano, jukebox and fireplace in the salons.

The impression is that of orderly, wide-open space, with an overriding sense of calm. The master suite, on the owner’s deck, has a semicircle of windows in front of the bed, providing an exceptional view of the water. Just out front is a private Jacuzzi. During our visit, it was raining, so the interior proved to be a sanctuary of sorts. The yacht’s gym, sauna, spa and common-area salons make a relaxing contrast to the exterior of the boat, which is devoted to water sports, with two tenders, diving equipment and other water toys. Bella Vita is a classy, sophisticated charter yacht.

Overmarine’s ‘Miss Moneypenny V’—164 Feet

MISS MONEYPENNY V 0000396

Miss Moneypenny V , built in 2012 and refitted in 2019, was named by John Staluppi. An owner who always names his yachts after Bond movies or characters, Miss Moneypenny ’s subsequent owner decided that the name did indeed fit the superyacht.

This 164-foot Overmarine is not only sleek but lightning fast for her size. Her top end of 38 knots is light speed for a yacht of her size, and even the cruise speed of 28 knots is impressive. The boat has four staterooms for nine guests, which sounds a bit small, but the owner-mandated gym and cinema could be turned into staterooms to push it to 12 guests.

Designer Stefano Righini’s exterior is sleek and fast, while interior designer Valentina Balducci used lots of wood in the open spaces. The bleached teak floors and limed-oak paneling provide nice contrast against the off-white furniture and décor. Its open layout on the main deck, from the rear doors to the sci-helm station, creates a large, spacious environment.

The boat’s exterior is where the Bond-worthy fun transpires, either forward on the long, massive foredeck with its sunbeds and wraparound lounges and tables, or up on the sky bridge, where the owner can drive the boat at the second helm. A go-fast superyacht is a rarity in today’s world of multi-deck, high-volume slowpokes, but it was refreshing to see Miss Moneypenny V in the superyacht section, looking like she was just ready to break out and race for the Bahamas. The boat isn’t for charter but is listed for sale at $15.5 million.

Turquoise’s ‘Quantum of Solace’—238 Feet

biggest yacht miami

The other Bond-themed boat in this group, Quantum of Solace , is a 238-foot motoryacht (previously named Honor ), the largest private yacht ever built in Turkey. Launched in May 2012 by Turquoise Yachts, H2 Yacht Design’s interior includes six cabins on the main deck, a full-beam master suite in the center of the bridge deck, with two balconies on either side. The main salon has a double-height atrium, that adds to the yacht’s spacious feeling. On the lower deck is a full-beamed spa, with gym, steam room and Jacuzzi. The yacht’s sundeck features a 15-foot-long pool with contra-flow swimming system. The yacht has a crew of 18.

Benetti’s ‘Mag III’—145 Feet

biggest yacht miami

Mag III , one of the earliest Benetti Vision launches, has two major differentiators from other yachts in the Vision series. Its zero-speed stabilizers limit rolling at anchor for a more pleasant experience, and the elevator, which runs from the lower to upper deck, are nice amenities on the 145-foot yacht. The owner had Mag III refitted in 2015, giving the interior fresh wood on the walls, furniture and other small details to restore the Bannenberg & Rowell appeal. The yacht will accommodate up to 12 guests in five staterooms, while the forward-facing master suite has its own private deck. The look is contemporary but classic, with many subtle browns in the woodwork and flooring, along with matching furniture and white, Italian marble. Like Miss Moneypenny V , Mag III is not for charter but is listed for sale at $10.7 million .

Riding The Wave: Largest Yachts at 2022 Miami Boat Show

By Heather Collier

In just a matter of days, Miami will be at the centre of the world stage once again for its annual International Boat Show. After its cancellation due to the ongoing global health crisis, Informa Market have announced that the event will now lie in situ with the Miami Yacht Show.

2022 will see its first ever collaborative show, where visitors will have over 1,000 exhibitors and hundreds of exciting interactive experiences to choose from over the course of the five-day extravaganza. “We are thrilled to offer our guests the largest boating and yachting event in the world, right here in Miami where it all began over 80 years ago,” said Andrew Doole, President of U.S. Boat Shows for Informa Markets.

Historically, the Miami International Boat Show and Miami Yacht Show has continued to be a major marine event in Greater Miami and Miami Beach, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors to South Florida and generating an estimated combined annual economic impact of $1.34 billion.

Hosted predominantly in the stunning Biscayne Bay and Miami Beach Convention Centre, the show is back and bigger than ever. If you want to explore the event in ultimate style, you’ll be able to indulge in a collection of experiential boating lifestyle activations, entertainment, innovative cuisine, special activity zones, and a marine accessory pavilion. Additional venues for the show in Miami Beach include Pride Park, across the street from the Convention Centre, as well as One Herald Plaza, Island Gardens Deep and Harbour Sea Isle Marina.

One of the main spectacles that cannot be missed is the world-renowned SuperYacht Miami which showcases the largest vessels on display at the show. Dedicated exclusively to the largest and most opulent yachts, Superyacht Miami provides an unparalleled luxury experience, providing each guest with the unique opportunity to get up close and personal with some of the most luxurious world-class superyachts, including some exciting debuts from around the globe.

Some of the superyachts attending are Damen Yachting’s 55M Gene Chaser, 55M Gene Machine and IYC’S 50M Thunder.

Gene Chaser and Gene Machine

Gene Chaser and Gene Machine, dubbed the “floating laboratories”, were revealed to have been built specifically for specialist scientists to undergo ground-breaking research. As Dr Jonathan Rothberg puts it, “to feed, fuel, and heal the world.”

It’s easy to spot Gene Chaser   with its signature axe bow, large open deck and eye-catching symbols that mirror the nameplate on the side of Gene Machine. With their custom fleet colours, both vessels boast a stunning combination of design, technology, and science, and ultimately a huge milestone for Damen’s portfolio.

IYC’s Thunder more than lives up to its name. This impressive jet-powered superyacht built in Australia by Oceanfast was commissioned by iconic Italian designer Robert Cavalli and refuses to shy away from flamboyance.  “She’s now in amazing condition and ready for her next adventures,” says Mark Elliott, broker with IYC which has just listed her for sale at $8.8 million. With a surreal Alice in Wonderland interior, each guest will feel as mad as a hatter as they teeter on the edge of fantasy.

Cloud Yachts' NFT Superyachts

But that’s not all – this year’s show continues to welcome new twists and turns as Cloud Yachts has announced it is releasing a collection of NFT yachts exclusively for the show. Cloud Yachts, a digital yacht dealer, has joined forces with the world’s top superyacht designers to release NFT art collections. Contributing designers include Bannenberg & Rowell, Gregory C. Marshall, David Weiss, and Marco Casali.

Zach Mandelstein first founded Cloud Yachts in the heart of Silicon Valley and has been recognised as the first ever digital yacht dealer in the metaverse. Cloud Yachts will be releasing a limited series of 125 of NFTs which are expected to be rapidly snatched off the market.

NFT (non-fungible tokens) art, contain individual digital identifiers that cannot be copied, substituted, or subdivided; an NFT is recorded on a blockchain, which is used to certify the authenticity and ownership of a specific digital asset. In terms of character, each yacht is guaranteed to unlike any other in the world.

With Burgess’ recent sale of their 40.2M Benetti motor yacht ORYX, bought entirely using BitPay, it comes as no surprise that cryptocurrency and new technology are barging their way to the forefront and beginning to transform the future of the yachting industry.

After partnering with premium brands, owners of Cloud Yachts NFTs will be pleased to know that they will receive VIP access to exclusive events in the superyacht community including yacht shows, super yacht parties and other world-class benefits that ordinarily would not be possible without making such a purchase.

Additionally, a 63M new-build project will also be available for purchase as an NFT. Award-winning naval architect Gregory Marshall is pioneering the project, making it the first NFT superyacht priced at around 95 million USD or 30,148 ETH. Each client will be able to customise their superyacht to their own desires in the metaverse using the first-of-its-kind augmented reality technology.

Informa Market has proven its aims to capture a balance of opulence and grandiosity, whilst also demonstrating the monumental scientific and humanitarian projects that can be achieved onboard the likes of Gene Chaser and Gene Machine, along with ground-breaking new technologies that are reshaping the future of deals and partnerships.

If one thing is for certain, Miami is committed to evolving with the times.

The 2022 Miami International Boat Show will take place between the 16th and 20th of February. We look forward to its unveiling.

"“We are thrilled to offer our guests the largest boating and yachting event in the world, right here in Miami where it all began over 80 years ago.”" Andrew Doole, President of U.S. Boat Shows for Informa Markets.

Due to the ongoing restrictions of the pandemic and an overall decline in air travel, the yachting industry has taken off this year.

“There is an interesting phenomenon going on with the yacht chartering industry during COVID times and why it works is appealing,” notes JR Ridinger. “Superyachts offer an amazing solution for affluent or successful individuals and families or business owners to quarantine or social distance in luxury. Discover Miami’s Majestic Marinas: A Guide to the Largest Yacht Ports in the Magic City

biggest yacht miami

From its picturesque shores to its bustling ports, Miami has long been recognized as a hub for maritime enthusiasts. But how did this sun-soaked city become a global yachting capital? This journey takes us from Miami’s humble beginnings to its current status as a beacon for yachting fans and marine sustainability advocates alike. As you embark on this voyage through time, you’ll discover the magic of Miami’s ports and marinas and perhaps find inspiration for your next maritime adventure with Luxury Miami Yachts.

  • History and Evolution: How Miami Became a Yachting Paradise

Miami’s transformation into a yachting paradise is a tale of vision, ambition, and strategic development. Once a quiet coastal town, Miami’s geographical location, sandwiched between the Atlantic Ocean and the vast expanse of the Everglades, made it an ideal locale for maritime activities.

In the early 20th century, Miami was already a bustling hub for trade, with ships ferrying goods from the Caribbean and South America. The city’s founders, recognizing the potential of its pristine waters and strategic location, made significant investments in maritime infrastructure. This laid the groundwork for what would become a booming yachting industry.

The post-war boom of the 1950s and 1960s saw an influx of tourists and celebrities to Miami’s shores. With this came a demand for luxury services, including private yachting. Recognizing this trend, developers and entrepreneurs invested heavily in marinas, yacht clubs, and other related services.

However, it wasn’t just about luxury. Miami’s community recognized the need for sustainable yachting practices. This foresight led to regulations that ensured marine biodiversity and water quality were maintained. As a result, Miami’s waters remained pristine, further attracting yacht enthusiasts.

Today, Miami’s rich yachting history is evident in its numerous marinas, yacht festivals, and the countless vessels that dot its skyline. The city has seamlessly blended luxury with sustainability, making it a beacon for yachting fans worldwide.

  • Port Miami: The Giant of South Florida and its Impact on the Nautical World

Port Miami stands as a testament to human ingenuity and vision. Widely regarded as the “Cruise Capital of the World,” it’s not just cruise ships that have found a home here, but yachts of all sizes.

The port’s story began in the early 1900s when trade ships became a common sight. However, it was the post-war era that marked the port’s ascendancy. With increased global trade and the rise of Miami as a luxury destination, there was a need for a sophisticated port to handle the influx.

To meet these demands, Port Miami underwent extensive expansions. Dredging projects ensured that even the largest superyachts could dock with ease. Advanced navigational aids and state-of-the-art facilities made it a preferred destination for yacht owners worldwide.

However, Port Miami’s influence isn’t just limited to its docks. It has spurred economic growth in the region, with numerous businesses, from fine dining restaurants to luxury boutiques, cropping up to cater to the discerning yacht crowd.

Today, the port is a hub of activity, influencing global yachting trends and serving as a model for ports worldwide. Its blend of efficiency, luxury, and sustainability is a hallmark of its success.

  • Marina Bay: Exclusive Services and Highlighted Events at this Port

Marina Bay is synonymous with luxury yachting in Miami. Situated in a strategic location, this marina offers an experience that few others can match.

From its inception, Marina Bay was envisioned as more than just a docking space. It was to be a haven for yacht enthusiasts, offering services that catered to every whim and fancy. This vision has been realized over the years, with the marina boasting amenities that are second to none. From top-tier maintenance facilities to exclusive clubs and lounges, Marina Bay is in a league of its own.

But it’s not just about luxury. The marina has carved a niche for itself by hosting exclusive maritime events. These events, ranging from yacht exhibitions to marine conservation seminars, attract visitors from all corners of the globe.

Furthermore, the marina’s focus on sustainability sets it apart. Eco-friendly practices, from waste management to water conservation, are the norm here, ensuring that Miami’s waters remain pristine for future generations.

  • The Experience at Miami Beach Marina: From Nearby Restaurants to Tourist Activities

Nestled amidst the vibrant cityscape of Miami lies the Miami Beach Marina, a blend of urban allure and maritime serenity. For many yacht owners and marine enthusiasts, this marina isn’t just a docking spot but a gateway to Miami’s rich tapestry of experiences.

One of the standout aspects of Miami Beach Marina is its proximity to a diverse gastronomic landscape. As yachts dock, visitors are mere steps away from a culinary journey that spans the globe. From authentic Cuban cafeterias serving hearty classics to upscale restaurants offering gourmet delights, the choices are as vast as they are delicious. This interplay of cuisine adds a unique flavor to the marina, ensuring that every visit is tinged with anticipation for the next delightful meal.

But food is just the tip of the iceberg. The marina’s location offers easy access to some of Miami Beach’s most iconic landmarks. The Art Deco Historic District, with its pastel-colored buildings and vintage charm, is a must-visit. It’s a delightful juxtaposition of Miami’s historical past against the contemporary luxury of yachting. Then, there’s the South Pointe Park, a serene spot that offers panoramic views of the city and the ocean, making it a favorite among both locals and tourists.

  • Sustainable Strategies: How Miami’s Ports are Adopting Ecological Practices to Protect the Ocean

As Miami’s reputation as a global yachting hub has grown, so has its responsibility towards ensuring the sustainability of its marine practices. Recognizing the potential environmental impact of the maritime industry, Miami’s ports have taken proactive steps to minimize their ecological footprint.

A cornerstone of this initiative is waste management. Ports across Miami have implemented stringent waste disposal practices, ensuring that pollutants don’t find their way into the ocean. Specialized waste collection vessels, along with facilities to treat and dispose of waste safely, are now a common sight.

But sustainability isn’t just about waste management. It’s also about educating and informing. To this end, Miami’s ports regularly organize seminars and workshops focused on marine conservation. These events aim to sensitize yacht owners, crew, and visitors about the importance of sustainable practices and the role they can play in ensuring the health of the oceans.

Furthermore, there’s a push towards utilizing clean energy. Solar panels, wind turbines, and other green energy sources are being integrated into port operations. The goal is to reduce carbon emissions and pave the way for a cleaner, greener future.

Collaboration is key to the success of these initiatives. Miami’s ports work in tandem with environmental agencies, conservation experts, and the community. It’s a collective effort aimed at preserving the beauty and vitality of Miami’s waters for generations to come.

Conclusion :

Miami’s metamorphosis into a global yachting paradise is no accident. It’s the product of visionary minds, strategic investments, and a commitment to sustainable maritime practices. Today, the city stands as a testament to what can be achieved when luxury, sustainability, and community come together. For those inspired by Miami’s maritime legacy, the journey is just beginning. The best superyacht marinas in Miami

One island park.

In Miami, everyone wants a piece of the waterfront. Condos, restaurants and private homes all try to stake claim on the ever-disappearing property by bay (and sea). Luckily, in a water-centric city like Miami, marinas take up a good portion of this prime real estate .

With dockage available in every waterfront neighbourhood, you can decide what amenities you seek, how much privacy you desire and which part of Miami you’d like to be based to explore this exciting city .

1. One Island Park

The One Island Park compound opened in Miami Beach in November last year and is designed solely for superyachts and is able to accommodate yachts measuring up to 244 metres in its deep water berths.

Visitors to One Island Park will enjoy a vast range of VIP concierge services, as well as a high level of exclusivity. The new compound was designed to showcase both the area and the best standards of service, meaning it will become an extremely popular spot for private owners, while its location means that clients can enjoy the thriving art scene, the beaches and the nightlife of Miami.

Island Gardens

The new superyacht marina Island Gardens Deep Harbour is situated on Watson Island and is capable of berthing 50 superyachts measuring up to 167 metres. The retail and residential aspects of the marina are not expected to be completed for the next two years, but the marina is fully operational with 1,524 linear metres of capacity with drafts of 5.4-6.4 metres deep.

Coconut Grove

Home to the U.S. Sailing Center and multiple yacht clubs, Coconut Grove is a hotbed for yachting activity. The 582-slip Dinner Key Marina, which survived the worst of the hurricane damage in September, sits right in the centre, and only steps away from the shops and restaurants of “The Grove.” The protected marina hosts yachts up to 38 metres with two metres of draft.

Sea Isle Marina

The Sea Isle Marina and Yachting Centre is a great place for yachts up to 42 metres to tie-up and be in close distance to what downtown has to offer with the Adrienne Arsht Center for the performing arts and the arena where the Miami Heat play right around the corner. There are also great restaurants right on site, as well as fuel and a ship’s store.

Miamarina at Bayside

Surrounded by shops, dining and even an outdoor auditorium, the Miamarina at Bayside is a lively marina. The marina has 130 slips and hosts yachts up to 60 metres and offers easy access to both the Atlantic through Government Cut and to Biscayne Bay and the Florida Keys to the south.

Epic Marina

Epic Marina is surely one of the plushest in Miami and despite being hit hard during Hurricane Irma, is once again capable of hosting superyachts up to 95 metres. Sunset Harbour Yacht Club

Set off the Venetian Causeway on Biscayne Bay, Sunset Harbour Yacht Club offers ample dockage outside of the hubbub of the Miami Beach scene. Indian Creek Marina

Across from Miami’s iconic and historic Fountainbleau Resort on Collins Avenue, Indian Creek Marina at the Fountainbleau Resort (home to one of the best hotel spas to visit in Miami ) can host yachts up to 76 metres. In February, this waterway is lined with yachts during the Miami Yacht and Brokerage Show. The rest of the year, it’s open to transiting yachts and makes a great destination marina that is in close distance to Miami’s finest spas and eateries, as it's located right across from the beach.

Miami Beach Marina

In the south end of Miami Beach, the full-service Miami Beach Marina has 400 slips for yachts up to 76 metres. The marina offers direct access to Government Cut, a manmade shipping channel between Miami Beach and Fisher Island, which allows better access to the Port of Miami. Likewise, it’s only moments to the best of what South Beach has to offer; the beach and the best restaurants, nightlife and spas are just steps away.

Private Marinas

Yachtsmen seeking a private marina experience while in Miami should look no further than these havens:

The exclusive private island community of Fisher Island Club, across from Miami Beach, is ‘members only’, but sponsorship (from a member or the dockmaster) allows temporary membership for yachts up to 76.2 metres in length to tie up in the marina. And their owners can enjoy all the perks of the club, including the beach club, spa, tennis centre, hotel, restaurants and PB Dye-designed golf course.

Midway between Miami and Fort Lauderdale in Aventura, Turnberry Isle Marina Yacht Club accommodates 117 yachts up to 45-metres. Amenities include 24-hour security, a private ocean club, pool, spa, several restaurants, and two 18-hole Raymond Floyd-designed championship golf courses.

Miami Yacht Charters

The gateway to Biscayne Bay, the Intracoastal waterway, Haulover Sandbar, and the surrounding ocean, Miami is a superyacht charter destination abounding in options. Influenced by both Latin and North American cultures, the Magic City itself is populated by a variety of luxury resorts and world-renowned restaurants, making it an ideal cruising ground for the discerning traveler.

Luxury yacht charters in Miami Graced with perhaps the most iconic skyline in the world, those cruising along the coastline of Miami are afforded exceptional views of the towering skyscrapers and modern architecture which lines this part of the Sunshine State. Of course, there’s also no better place to take in the burnt orange sunsets than from the comfort of a superyacht’s sundeck or sky lounge. The marinas of Miami are all well-positioned, making it easy for charter guests to access all the attractions of the city with ease when they decide to step on land. For larger superyachts, the Island Gardens Deep Harbour over at Watson Island is the first deep-water marina of its capacity in the Western Hemisphere, a fact which makes it possible for every kind of yacht to visit the Magic City. The cruising grounds of Miami are also sheltered by the Intracoastal Waterway which means that they enjoy the perfect conditions for trying out all all manner of watersports equipment which may be available on board a luxury charter yacht. The waters of Miami are also home to a colorful assortment of marine life, allowing charter guests to spot dolphins playing in the surf and perhaps the occasional manatee, all from the comfort of a superyacht.

Miami yacht charter guide Whether guests decide to cruise along the Intracoastal waterway or hop around the nearby islands, Miami is warmed by the year-round sunshine of Florida making the waters perfect for both swimming and snorkeling. As one of the world’s most exciting and youthful yachting locations, Miami plays host to a number of annual yachting events. There’s Yachts Miami Beach, for example, as well as the Miami International Boat Show , and the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show . These events are renowned featuring some of the largest displays of superyachts in the industry, often including the newest and the most iconic yachts for charter.

Miami yacht charter itinerary Ideal for both day charters as well as more extended vacations, the cruising grounds of Miami provide a seemingly inexhaustible list of options to charter guests. Indeed, with plenty to see and do around the mainland, as well as in the water itself, there's plenty of great reasons to spend as long as possible in this part of Florida. A typical itinerary would see charter guests embark at the exclusive Miami Beach Marina which is only a short transfer from the Miami International Airport. Making a passage for the Palm and Star Islands, a brief detour around Hibiscus will open up a world of outstanding views that are only accessible from the water. Hitting up the downtown area of Miami, charter guests will then be transported through a series of channels to the Port of Miami and Bayside. After spending some time familiarising themselves with the charms of the city, charter guests can set off through Brickell Key to Key Biscayne where their vacation will come to an end. Altogether, this series of destinations provides an exciting insight into the unique world of Miami.

Boat insurance typically covers loss caused by things such as fire, sinking, storms, and collisions. The extent of the coverage varies depending on the policy.

Do I need my own insurance to rent a boat?

You do not need boat insurance when renting with Boatsetter. Coverage is provided under the Peer-to-Peer Boat Rental Policy, which is underwritten by GEICO Marine Insurance Company. The policy was written from the ground up as a stand-alone recreational boat rental insurance policy covering the period of time that the boat is being rented and is available for all non-commercially insured boats.

Does Boatsetter screen renters?

Yes. We use a system called Cognito to ensure that payment information matches the renter's identity. We also require renters taking out a captained boat to be at least 18 years old and on a bareboat to be at least 25 years old.

Is listing my boat on Boatsetter free?

Yes! Listing a boat is completely free. We only take a commission when your boat is rented. We only make money when you do!

What if I'm not comfortable having a renter drive my boat?

If you are not comfortable having a renter drive your boat, we have an expansive network of licensed and experienced captains. Once your boat is listed, you can filter through our network of captains and favorite captains in your area that you would like to operate your boat.

Take a sneak peek at the biggest and most expensive boats at 2024's Palm Beach yacht show

  • The Palm Beach International Boat Show kicks off later this week.
  • Eight megayachts are expected to be on display for would-be buyers and charter customers.
  • These are the show's biggest yachts — and how many millions of dollars they are going for.

Insider Today

The Palm Beach International Boat Show — the yacht world's flashiest event stateside — is returning this year with over 800 boats for both deep-pocked potential owners and window shoppers to peruse.

While it's impossible to know what exactly will be on display until the show begins on Thursday, it's expected that eight megayachts — generally defined as ships over 60 meters long — will be docked at the show and at nearby marinas like the Rybovich Marina in the ritzy Florida town.

Some of these are for sale at eye-popping prices, but others are available to if in case you fancy living like a billionaire for a week or two this summer (and if you have six figures to spare on a vacation).

These are the eight biggest yachts that will be at the Palm Beach International Boat Show and nearby marinas, in size order.

Nero: 90.1 meters

Price: From $497,000 a week (charter) Standout features: Pizza ovens, beauty salon, massage room, resistance pool

Reportedly owned by Irish billionaire Denis O'Brien, Nero is modeled after J.P. Morgan's 1930s ship , and was built in 2007 and updated in 2021.

She now boasts a gym on her sundeck with multiple cardio machines and a beauty salon, and has an on-board beautician for manicure, pedicure, hair, and massage needs. There's also an upgraded movie theater, two new pizza ovens, and both a pool and a jacuzzi.

For those who want to go overboard, she has more than a dozen toys, including a waterslide, Jet Ski, and flyboard.

Victorious: 85 meters

Price: From $876,600 a week in the summer and $950,000 a week in the winter Standout features: Hammam (Turkish bath), wine cellar, wood-burning fireplace, children's playroom

Victorious brings a party vibe to the yacht show. With a beach club on board, a wine cellar, a cigar clubroom , multiple bars, and a lounge with a piano, the vessel is made for entertaining. Plus, there's a playroom and movie theater to entertain the kids.

For tamer charter clients, Victorious has a suite of wellness features such as a gym, massage room, beauty salon and hammam, or Turkish bath — perhaps a custom request of her owner, Turkish businessman Vural Ak.

She also boasts a treasure trove of water toys, including Jet Skis, jetsurfs, inflatable kayaks, and scuba equipment.

Casino Royale: 72 meters

Price: TBD Special Features: Infinity pool, helipad, private jacuzzi

Purchased and refitted by car dealer magnate John Staluppi last year, Casino Royale is the latest of his James Bond-inspired yachts (he's also owned an Octopussy and a Skyfall, among others).

Casino Royale has a helipad that turns into a dancefloor, an infinity pool, and a wellness center with a gym and sauna. The owner's cabin has its own deck, which features a private bar and jacuzzi.

However, the boat's price isn't listed, and while she's not necessarily officially for sale, that might change depending on who's prepared to buy, Mr. Bond.

Talisman C: 70.6 meters

Price: $60 million (or from $567,000 a week to charter) Special features: Massage and beauty room, private library

Likely the largest yacht for sale (not just charter) at the show, the Talisman C is a 2011 six-bedroom boat. The owner's cabin comes with an en suite bathroom, dressing room, private library, and crystal chandeliers.

Amenities include a gym, a beauty room, oversized jacuzzi, and a fully equipped bar. Her crew of 19 includes a trained masseuse, and the toy room comes equipped with a wakeboard, eFoil , and WaveRunners.

Joy: 70 meters

Price: From $650,000 a week Special features: Disco club, basketball court, onboard fitness instructor

Superyacht Joy testifies to the fact that owners want as many on-board experiences as they can get.

There's an expansive suite of fitness features, including a basketball court (don't shoot that hoop too hard!), a personal trainer on staff, boxing equipment, and a handful of machines. For post-workout winddowns, there's a spa with a steam room and onboard masseuse. And for entertainment, there's both an outdoor and indoor cinema, and a disco club.

Triumph: 65.4 meters

Price: From $707,600 a week in the summer and $650,000 a week in the winter Special features: Sauna, helipad, banana boat

This 2021 superyacht is named after Triumph motorcycles — a reported favorite of her rumored owner, British businessman Chris Dawson — and even has one on display as an art piece in the upper deck's lounge. The primary suite is 1,400 square feet and has its own study , and there's a sauna, an indoor-outdoor gym, a helipad, and a massage room spread among her six decks.

She boasts an "armada of water toys," including two kinds of Jet Skis, electric water bikes, and a banana boat.

Seanna: 64.5 meters

Price: $54,000,000 (or from $462,000 a week to charter) Special features: marble foyer, movie room, sundeck pool

The recently refurbished Seanna is available for sale and charter.

Her indoor-outdoor gym is on sea level so that passengers can take a dip after a session with the onboard personal trainer. There's also a sundeck pool, a helipad, a two-room massage facility, and, for the more cerebral guests, a library with an electric fireplace.

There are a number of toys on board, including a popular water trampoline and two WaveRunners.

Come Together: 60 meters

Price: $65,000,000 Special Features: DJ and videographer on board, ice bath, sauna

Next-to-new yacht Come Together is looking for a new owner after doing charters during the 2023 season.

The Beatles' influence is evident beyond the yacht's name, with guitars dotting the sky lounge and a crewmember who doubles as a DJ. There's also an outdoor cinema and bar for entertainment and an ice bath and sauna for the day after the party. The owner's suite has a private study and lounge, and each guest cabin has its own ensuite.

The sale includes a number of toys, like Jet Skis, kayaks, and Seabobs.
