Was hoping for a quieter evening out but it was packed. Had reservations but took about 20 mins to be seated. Waiter was very attentive considering how busy she was. Food came out quick and tasted excellent. My tractorman got the biggest prime rib and... I had the coconut shrimp. Wow they were very good. Topped the evening with the lava cake which you have to order early they make it when ordered takes about 30 mins. We have eaten at Chart House in 3 different areas and food is always great. More

We have dined at Charthouse restaurants before and always found them very nice. However, the Charthouse at Redondo Beach is not one to which we will be returning. To access to the restaurant you must either walk or drive through the covered ground floor of... the apartment building to which the restaurant is attached. This is not an inviting start. The restaurant itself is on the beach but has an old and somewhat tired 70’s feeling to it. The décor is in need of freshening up. The bar was so busy and with so few servers that we gave up trying to have a drink before dinner. The reception was efficient and there was adequate waiting room. We were called within ten minutes of our reserved time. The table service was too casual for our taste and not particularly prompt. The food was satisfactory but nothing special given the prices. Overall a disappointing experience. More

We made a reservation and arrived a few minutes early only to find a lobby full of people waiting. The reception staff were disorganized and people without reservations were being accommodated. When we finally got seated we felt that we were being oversold by the... waiter. The restaurant came highly recommended but the meal although good was not great. Please spare yourself this restaurant. They did a spendid job of ruining our Valentine's Day. We arrived at 6:50 pm for a 7:00 pm reservation and there was a queue out the door just to check in let alone get a table. We were not... seated until nearly 7:45 pm, while having to listen as each guest checked in, the receptionist telling every person someone almost died here tonight. How pleasant. We ordered Valentine's Dinner with a 7:15 PM pick-up. Our dinner was not ready until 7:50 PM. After the long wait, the food was second rate. The lobster bisque was barely warm. The vegetables with the entree were overcooked and the fish was also only... lukewarm. Dessert was great. Considering what they charge, it was money wasted. More

Last year on New Year's Eve, the restaurant was completely understaffed and it was obvious our waiter was new/unfamiliar with the menu. This year, the service was spectacular, food delicious and a lovely experience all around. Have been coming here since my 16th birthday and... it still delivers many, many years later! More

My husband and another couple/friends of ours had dinner here recently and the food was superb. We started with the lobster bisque - which was very tasty. I ordered a fish dish which was cooked to perfection. My husband had the Ahi Tuna and said... it was very good. We finished with Cheesecake, key lime pie and the Lava Cake. All the food was fantastic and the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because our service was a tad slow and the waiter a tad too talkative for my liking. More

We went to the charthouse for Easter brunch and never got served at 1:30pm. They told us at 2:00 pm that there were 6 couples ahead of us and I called early in the week for reservations. We left and I will never step foot... into the charthouse again. Plus, we will tell all our friends how we were treated on Easter day. Shame on them, what a horrible way to treat loyal customers! As we sipped our first cocktail, we watched the sun set from our table. We were seated at the window and the view could not be beat except for the service provided by Alex. Great food. Great experience.

Our first visit back in 20 years. We waited and our waiter was able to get us a table next to the beach windows. We ordered the calamari as an appetizer and there was enough for an entree. We couldn’t eat it all! We also... ordered the crab cake and it was just okay (not crisp). We split the salmon entree and couldn’t finish that, either. Recently traveled to Hermosa Beach, CA for a quick two-night stay. Needed a nice meal but did not want to sit in a restaurant by myself. Stumbled upon the Chart House! Ordered a delicious dinner to go! Excellent meal! Nice customer service as well. Will... come back and actually seat down and enjoy the beautiful beach views! More

Charthouse. Redondo beach is a favorite of ours. Great views. Been there for decades. Best time to go is sunset. Or even better on a stormy night. Food is always good. No salad bar right now. Hope it comes back soon

My husband and I have gone to this restaurant many times and usually had a great time watching the sunset, viewing the ocean at high tide (actually seeing into the sea), and looking down the beach from our table. The service on the weekdays is... excellent and personable. However, on the weekends the restaurant is loud, crowded and understaffed with slow service. Due to price increases, we now go for the early bird specials which include prime rib under $20.00, salmon with mustard sauce and other dishes. Try the chocolate lava cake for dessert. Now, about the Landry's diner's card for repeat visitors who want to join: 225 points can be cashed in for $25.00 credit off your bill. Each point is one dollar spent on food, not including alochol and tip, within a year. Now, anniversarys will NO longer have double points. Mondays are double points days with several exceptions as follows: any "special" days falling on Mondays will NO longer (usually) get double points and any holidays which fall on Monday will NOT be given double points even if the Chart House management states they will be given, the point system is up to Landry's. Yes, Landry's did help me when there was a dispute, but this is a confusing system. Also, ONLY the Landry's card holder can get a $25.00 credit off the bill for their, own, individual birthday, meaning another Landry's card holder CANNOT pay for the other's person's, (relative, friend, etc.) birthday dinner as a gift AND get this $25.00 credit.. In other words the card holder who is having their own birthday must pay for their own birthday dinner to get the $25.00 credit off their bill. We will return to the Chart House, but we will go elsewhere for our anniversary, my husband's birthday, "special days" and Monday holidays. Although we would have recieved regular points for these days, we are now alienated with the system and the extra expense. Landrys should re- evaluate their business strategy regarding the Select Club card rules. Chart House is still a great place to eat, but it recently become more expensive for Landry's card holders. Despite the positive things we'd heard, we were sadly disappointed with the Chart House in Redondo Beach. The ambiance was nice and the view stunning, but the food was only fair and the service was terrible. From the very start, it was apparent that the... waiter did not want to be there and it showed throughout the entire meal. Our dinner was delivered when we were still in the midst of our salads and he never came back to clear the old salad plates or take away empty glasses and bottles. He walked by our table several times, focusing on other tables and forgetting us. By the end of our meal, we were literally moving things around to try and make space around multiple used dishes, empty glasses and bottles on our table. We even asked him to take some things away to make room. He repeatedly promised to "be right back" to do so, but never returned (except later on with the check). Given the very high prices of this restaurant, there are too many good restaurants nearby this one to justify putting up with average food and poor service. We won't be back... More
