Rosa is one of the few Explorer Yachts in this size that has a huge master stateroom behind the wheelhouse with a private deck and all guest cabins on the main deck. She has taken her five Owners and their families over 50,000 ocean miles on her own hull, from the Med to New Zealand and back to the West Coast. Rosa has over a 5000 mile range at an economical fuel burn of 16 gallons an hour at 9 knots; she is as efficient and seaworthy as any vessel in her class. She is an all aluminum purpose built yacht with huge volume. Her expansive and modern bridge provides a 270 degree view. Rosa carries all the equipment necessary for serious adventure cruising and water play including a dive compressor with racks for 10 tanks and multiple kayaks; she is set up to fish with the best. The vessel features over 2000 gallons of daily fresh water-making capacity and an environmentally friendly sewage treatment capability. ROSA is ruggedly built and as practical as she is handsome. Built to expedition standards by ABD of Vancouver, Canada, she is designed to take her owner and guests in comfort and safety anywhere in the world. ROSA for sale

ROSA's accommodations layout is usually only found on much larger vessels. One of the many unique features of ROSA is that there is a large master cabin suite located on the upper deck (behind the wheelhouse), connected to an entire private covered deck.  The suite consists of (1) the large main cabin with 11 large windows creating a 270 degrees view from the king bed (blinds on each window are controlled with a remote), (2) his and her heads – one with Jacuzzi hydro massage, the other with shower towers, (3) a separate office area and (4) a huge fully covered private deck. The hers master tub/shower has an outside access directly into the shower.

Another unique layout feature of ROSA is that the guest accommodations are located not on the lower deck but on the main deck:  There are two very large guest cabins, each with a bathroom en suite. One of the cabins has a large settee that makes into a single berth, the other has a centerline king bed. This allows ROSA to sleep 7 guests.

The crew's quarters are also on the main deck forward and, in keeping with the mega yacht feel, they have a complete galley and lounge area with two crew cabins for a total of 4 crew. Historically she has been run with 2 or 3 crew.

The entire lower deck is dedicated to the engine room, service spaces and dive/fishing area, again something that is usually only found on much larger Explorer Yachts.

Most expenses are deducted from an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA), a fund that is added on top of the charter price. The expenses, such as provisioning, fuel, marina fees, are deducted from the APA. The APA is based on the price of the yacht and ranges from 15% (crewed sailing yachts) to 30% (motor yachts with higher fuel consumption). You can actively control these expenses in your preference sheet (local vs. imported beverages) and by choice of itinerary (distances traveled). Oro Rosa – Damon Paling

Lockdown served up a much-welcomed silver-lining as I kicked back on the couch and read Running Free by Robin Knox-Johnston; an inspiring, entertaining, and somewhat terrifying insight into the world of single-handed sailing by a remarkable individual.

With Spring around the corner it is about time to dispense with the comfort of the living room couch and get back in the cockpit with one hand on the helm.  My general sailing experience could be described as “knowing the basics” which places me squarely in the realm of “newbie” when it comes to solo-sailing.

Oro Rosa is a J112e and something of a cross-over cruising/racing 37-footer. Whilst not ideal in set up for single-handed sailing, I will nonetheless aim to give it a good crack.

Looking forward to seeing everyone on the water!

Rosa d’Oro Winery was established by the Buttitta Family. They have been growing grapes in California for over five decades. Originally from Sonoma, the Buttitta Family moved to Kelseyville in 1991.

Rosa d’Oro Winery is located in the town of Kelseyville and owned by the Buttitta Family. The vineyard is planted in the volcanic soils of the nearby Red Hills AVA . Only certified organic farming techniques are used in the vineyard. Olive trees are also on the property, and the Buttittas plan to produce olive oil and vinegar soon.

Rosa d’Oro specializes in Italian varietals including Primitivo, Dolcetto, Barbera, and Aglianico. The winery also makes Syrah, Chardonnay, and Semillon. Their Primitivo is especially critically acclaimed and pays homage to the family’s Italian heritage. This grape is originally from the Puglia region of Southern Italy.

The Buttittas also make a delicious Barbera with nice acidity and a fruit forward Dolcetto. Both of these grapes are from the Piedmont region in Northwestern Italy.

Owner Nick Buttitta lived in Sonoma County with his family for many years. He grew grapes and sold them to several well known wineries in the area including Sebastiani and Simi Winery.

LIBRO D’ORO SOLD BY NORTHROP & JOHNSON

Built in 2003, LIBRO D’ORO is a stunning Italian-style luxury motor yacht with modern amenities. From her beautiful cherry wood-finished interior to her comfortable main salon and her formal dining area for eight, she is exceptionally well suited for onboard entertaining.
