Complete with a professional captain and gourmet chef, your group will relish the spacious accommodations and a premium, personalized yacht charter.

The price of the yacht rental and insurance are included in your all-inclusive cost. As well as fuel for the yacht and tender, and in most cases, charter taxes are covered.

The captain has a professional license, and the boat is fully insured. He is responsible for the safety and well-being of all onboard. He plans the sailing route and makes sure the yacht is safe at anchor or on the dock.

The Captain is responsible for safely navigating the yacht, following maritime regulations, and ensuring the overall safety of the guests and crew. They will plan the itinerary, taking into consideration weather conditions and the preferences of the guests.

Your crew is experienced and well-trained and will not disappoint when showing you the charter area’s highlights for the best vacation ever! On a crewed yacht charter, the crew members have various responsibilities to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience for all guests. They are here to make sure you get the most out of your time onboard.

Our yachts have a professional Captain and Chef. Larger vessels may have additional crew such as deckhands and a steward(ess). Yachts that have 2 crew will cover all the roles listed below.

STEWARD/STEWARDESS

This role ensures that the guests’s cabins and common areas are kept clean and tidy at all times. Providing a turn-down service at night time and bed-making service in the mornings. They will assist with serving meals and drinks and taking care of the guest’s needs throughout the day.

The Stewardess will ensure your cabin looks like it did when you first stepped on board, and together the entire crew is willing to help each other to ensure that you enjoy a well-deserved fun-in-the-sun vacation and a successful trip of a lifetime.

Your Chef is eager to show off the best cuisine and other culinary delights produced in a tiny galley. He/She plans menus according to special diets or preferences.

The chef is responsible for preparing delicious meals for the guests on board. They shop for the best ingredients and have them onboard ready for charter. The chef will create culinary experiences each day serving you breakfast, lunch, and dinner as well as snacks as needed throughout the day.

The deckhand will help the captain with navigation and yacht handling. They are responsible for maintaining the exterior of the yacht as well as operating water toys and equipment. They will also assist with water sports tuition and transportation to and from the yacht to shore.

If there are additional crew on larger vessels, the Deckhand will be ready to take you in the tender for water sports activities and to go ashore. He/She will ensure the cleanliness of the common areas.

Use of all water sports equipment is included for you. Most yachts will provide stand-up paddleboards, kayaks, snorkel gear, beach games, floating mats, and towable tubes.

Some yachts also have SeaBobs/SeaScooters. E-Foil boards, waterskis, and fishing gear, and some may offer SCUBA diving.

Each yacht is different so please inquire if a particular water toy is a priority for your group.

All your meals and snacks throughout the day are provided by your chef. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner plus snacks in between meals are all included.

Most reviews have shown us that the food aboard their trip was a highlight.

You fill out the preference forms before your arrival and the chef will prepare a menu for the week according. Traveling with a “picky-eater”?

Does somebody in your group follow a gluten-free diet? With a personal gourmet chef on board to prepare meals from your preference forms, you can dine worry-free knowing that any food allergies, hard-to-please palates, and dietary restrictions in your private charter party have already been accounted for and accommodated.

All meals and beverages are included with a crewed yacht, which means you can soak up the sun while sipping on your favorite happy hour cocktail and avoid the “what’s for dinner?” debate altogether. Just sit back and relax—reservations are not required.

A standard bar is included on your all-inclusive yacht charter. Liquor brands stocked by the yachts are typically Titos, Captain Morgan, Patron, Jack Daniels, Bacardi, Grand Marnier, Baileys, Jameson, Johnnie Walker, Malibu, Bombay Sapphire, Tanqueray.

If you have particular brands that you would like you can add these to your preference sheet, as well as what beers and wines you enjoy.

Soft drinks such as sodas, juices tea, and coffee are all included.

Special requests for top-shelf liquor, wine, or excessive alcohol consumption may incur an additional cost.

My family and I sailed with a group of 7 other friends for a week on the catamaran, Sol Liv, captained by James along with Robyn who was also the chef. We had an amazing vacation. James and Robyn are great people. They know the BVIs well and took us to so many beautiful spots. Plus, Robyn is a very talented chef. Our vacation was truly relaxing with James and Robyn in charge of all the details. The boat is amazing as well. Truly a floating hotel. Captain Tony coached, bartended, entertained and dozens of other tasks with an eye on customer service. He clearly loves his wife. Claudia had delicious and creative meals and abundant midday treats for us. She made special dishes for dietary concerns. She is the quiet center in the swirl of activity around the boat. They are wonderful people and we were fortunate to spend time with them. Certainly one of our best trips to the islands!

We just returned from an 11-guest 6-night BVI trip on the 65’ powercat “Out of Office” (Voyage Charters out of Soper's Hole in Tortola). Our captain was Blade Goodall and our chef was Nia Mora. We have done these trips before and Captain Blade and Chef Nia were by far the best we have ever had. Captain Blade was engaging, knowledgeable, funny, and flexible. We made a number of adjustments to our trip on the fly and he was very accommodating. All of the pre-planned excursion details (Mokes and dinner reservations on Anegada, scuba diving at Virgin Gorda, etc.) were perfect. The unscheduled impromptu activities (e-foils at Virgin Gorda, snorkeling, tubing, water skiing, fishing, bar hopping, etc.) were amazing and Captain Blade always took the time to ensure everyone was having fun. Chef Nia was creative, engaging, and highly talented. Every meal was fantastic and our group of 11 never went hungry! One of the highlights was Chef Nia preparing the 50-pound King Mackerel that Captain Blade helped us catch on the crossing from Anegada to Jost Van Dyke. With zero notice, Chef Nia cancelled her previously planned dinner and prepared an incredible fresh fish dinner complete with homemade teriyaki sauce, watermelon salsa, and perfect rice. This was a lot more work for her but she did it with a smile! Both Captain Blade and Chef Nia worked hard from sunrise to well after sunset each day ensuring that the trip was perfect for all 11 of our guests. We all had tears in our eyes when we said goodbye to them but will definitely request them on a future trip!

Great time with Tate and Justine. We just finished our charter with Tate (captain) and Justine (chef). If was a great vacation with Tate and Justine. They were extremely nice and helped us decide on what plans to make each day. Tate was extremely knowledgeable of the boat and the islands. He grew up in Jost Van Dyke and was able to give us good advice on what to do. My husband liked that Tate was always calm. Justine was a fantastic chef. She made sure our food met the information we provided ahead of time. Every meal was well thought out and delicious. Thank you both for a wonderful experience. The Voyage 520 boat was very nice. I would suggest maybe a couple more bean bags up front for people to lay when the boat is at sail.

Navigating the booking process can be a daunting task with many different types of yacht charters. that's why we've created this brief guide to all-inclusive charters, what's included and what boats offer it..

Not having to pay for expenses? That’s sounds a little too good to be true. You might be wondering: Are there really yacht charters with everything included?

The short answer is yes! All-inclusive yacht charters are available, but the majority operate in just a few charter destinations in the world. In fact, the majority take place in the Virgin Islands (both the U.S. and British islands). Outside of the Virgin Islands, though, you’ll find more traditional rate structures for charters, e.g. charter fees plus expenses.

In short, if you like the idea of an all-inclusive sailing vacation, consider a charter in the British Virgin Islands. A favorite Caribbean destination, the British Virgin Islands offer incredible beaches, exciting excursions and plenty of towns/resorts to explore. (Plus, you won’t have to worry about any of the expenses while you cruise and relax.)

What’s Included with an All Inclusive Charter?

All-inclusive means the majority of expenses – food, drink, fuel costs, taxes, etc. – are included in your charter fee. You aren’t required to keep an expense account open. Rather, you pay a one-time fee prior to setting sail, and that’s it.

But what amenities are included in an all-inclusive yachting trip? Here’s a quick look:

• Meals – Three chef-prepared meals per day, set to your preference.
• Drinks – All beverages, including bar drinks and cocktails, set to your preference. This includes the beverages in the ship’s open bar, which typically includes a mix of spirits, wine and beer.
• Snacks – Hors d’oeuvres, desserts and snacks are included.
• On-Board Amenities – Use of the onboard amenities and water toys, as noted on the yacht’s e-brochure.
• Fees/Taxes – Customs fees and cruising taxes are both included, unless otherwise indicated.

What’s Not Included in an All Inclusive Yacht Charter?

All-inclusive includes many of your expenses throughout your charter, and that’s one reason why many people like to book this type of vacation. It’s easier to plan and budget for. Yet, there are some special fees and amenities that aren’t included.

For example, dockage fees aren’t included, which is a fee paid to overnight at a marina. And special beverage requests aren’t included, as well. Here’s a look at some amenities that aren’t included:

• Fishing Licenses – If you plan to do some sport fishing, you’ll have to pay for the license in some cruising areas (not required for children).
• Dockage Fees – If you would like to spend a night in a marina, you pay the cost of the slip and dockside electricity and water. Nights spent at anchor do not include any additional fees.
• Special Food/Drink – Exclusive spirits, wines and food items may incur additional fees.
• Scuba Fees – If you plan on scuba diving, you may incur additional fees for gear and permits.
• Communications – Use of the yacht’s on-board communications equipment is an added expense. This can include things like computer usage and satellite phones.
• Transfers – Transfers from the airport to the yacht, or your return to the airport are not included.
• Crew Gratuity – Gratuity is not included. Traditionally, guests tip the crew at the end of the charter; 15% is customary, but the amount is at your discretion.

Does All Inclusive Include Alcohol? The majority of all-inclusive charters include everything you eat and drink on-board, including alcohol from the ship’s open bar. Yet, there are some charter operators that do not include alcohol in the all-inclusive, or they include just a small amount of alcohol. As you book an all-inclusive yacht charter, be sure to inquire about alcohol fees (if there are any).

All of the items that are included will be clearly marked on your charter contract , so you won’t have any surprise exclusions. Traditionally, though, it’s rare for a yacht to charge an additional fee for alcohol.

What Types of Yachts Are Available for All Inclusive

Not all yachts are available for all-inclusive charters. In fact, yacht charters in the British Virgin Islands that offer all-inclusive rates tend to be sailing vessels – both sailboats and catamarans – and they’re typically smaller in size.

• Sailing Yachts/Catamarans – The reason why sailing yachts and catamarans are more likely to offer all-inclusive charters is that they have much more predictable costs (e.g. little-to-no fuel costs). Plus, the British Virgin Islands is a small cruising ground, with a mix of beautiful islands located close-by. As a result, captains can better determine costs beforehand, which makes all-inclusive pricing possible.
• Motor Yachts/Superyachts – Motor yachts and superyachts, on the other hand, rarely offer all-inclusive rates . The reason? Fuel costs for motor yachts and superyachts tends to be highly variable; a last-minute itinerary change or increasing fuel prices can result in costs being much higher or lower.

Off-Season Specials . Some destinations, especially the British Virgin Islands, offer all-inclusive specials during the off-season (spring, summer and fall). You’ll find many more all-inclusive promotions during off-peak charter seasons, compared to the winter high-season. All-Inclusive Sailing Vacations: British Virgin Islands

The British Virgin Islands are a legendary sailing grounds. Here, you’ll find more than 25 islands and atolls to explore – including Tortola and Jost Van Dyke – as well as untouched beaches, reef diving/snorkeling spots, seaside cabanas, and a decidedly laid-back vibe.

Sailing the waters also make for a fun vacation. Throughout the year, the BVI receive steady tradewinds, incredible weather, and the water is warm and inviting no matter the time of year. A few key reasons to consider a sailboat charter in the BVI:

• Year-Round Charters – A sailboat charter in BVI is possible year-round. Like most of the Caribbean, winter is high season, when guests are treated to incredible weather and calm seas. Yet, early spring and fall are perfect times for off-season charters. In summer, the weather can be unpredictable, but many choose to charter in the summer.
• Plenty to Do/Explore – No matter your interests, you’ll find tons of one-of-a-kind adventures in the BVI. Tour centuries-old rum distilleries; surf, kayak, or kitesurf; hike the region’s numerous jungle trails; take an ATV tour; or relax at one of the island’s legendary beach parties.
• Incredible Sailing Grounds – The BVI’s 25 islands offer action-packed itineraries for sailing charters. Start your vacation in Tortola, the largest island, and check out nearby islands like Jost Van Dyke, Sandy Cay and Norman Island.

Catamaran charters are popular in the BVI, and there are many reasons you might consider an all-inclusive catamaran charter compared to a sailboat charter . A few of the top reasons include:

• Stability – Catamarans have two hulls, which increases stability at sea. Many people prefer catamarans for this reason.
• Shallower Waters – Catamarans can access shallower coves and waters, which opens up more possibilities in BVI. There are more than 60 atolls, cays and islands you can access in the BVI on a catamaran.
• Faster Cruising – Catamarans move faster and allow charter guests to see more on their charters.
• Spaciousness – The two-hull design provides a bit more space above and below deck, which increases privacy and allows more people to travel together.

Bareboat Charters vs. All-Inclusive

Some yacht charter guests like to hire their own boats, without a crew to sail the British Virgin Islands. These so-called bareboat charters offer some flexibility. Yet, the costs can quickly add up.

With a bareboat charter, you’re responsible for all food and beverages for your trip. Plus, any customs fees, cleaning fee, dockage, taxes, etc. are the responsibility of the charterer. Therefore, charter costs add up quickly, and bareboat charters tend to be similarly priced to all-inclusive charters, after all expenses have been calculated. Here’s a quick look at these types of charters:

• Bareboat – Nothing is included in your charter fee. You pay to rent a boat without a crew, and you’re responsible for food/drink, fuel, dockage and custom fees, and taxes.
• All-Inclusive – The majority of fees are included. Plus, you charter a fully crewed yacht. Depending on the yacht’s size, your crew will include a captain and at least one additional crew member to provide onboard services.

Of course, an all-inclusive crewed charter also offers peace of mind and pure relaxation. You sit back and enjoy your vacation, while the crew handles the details. With so many islands to choose from, how do you go about selecting a region to sail for your vacation? An all inclusive yacht charter in the Caribbean gives you a lot of options. While our home base is in the US Virgin Islands (and for good reason!), we can assist you in booking a charter wherever you’d like to visit. Here are a few of the most popular sailing regions to choose from, and what to consider.

All Inclusive Yacht Charter Caribbean: Regions

Us virgin islands.

This area consists of St. Thomas, St. John, and St. Croix. No passport is required for American citizens, and travel to and from is easy through the STT airport. There are many small islands and cays to hike, snorkel, and explore. St. Thomas and St. John are close to one another, with incredible shopping, beach bars, and restaurants throughout. St. Croix is a slightly longer sail away (which means visiting here is weather-dependent), with an even more laidback vibe.

Spanish Virgin Islands

This area consists of the small islands and cays off of Puerto Rico including Vieques and Culebra. No passport is required for American citizens, and travel to and from is easy through the SJU airport. These islands have an off-the-beaten-path feel, never crowded with tons of untouched nature for your adventures.

British Virgin Islands

This area consists of many small islands and cays, with the largest/most visited being Tortola, Virgin Gorda, Anegada, and Jost Van Dyke. A passport is required for everyone entering, including British citizens. Yacht charters here are easiest when they begin in the neighboring US Virgin Islands, so guests are able to fly in and out of the STT airport on St. Thomas, which is cheaper with more options in comparison to flying into the BVI. The BVI is home to many iconic beach bars, snorkel + diving sites, and incomparable beaches.

The Grenadines

This area consists of many small islands in between the larger islands of St. Vincent and Grenada. A passport is required to enter. Travel here can be accomplished through either the SVD or the GND airports. This island chain is incredibly picturesque and particularly great to visit during the summer/fall months, as they are located outside the hurricane belt. These islands are much quieter and less developed than the other regions, perfect for those looking for a serene escape.

The Bahamas

This area consists of a large chain of islands and cays including familiar favorites such as Abaco, Bimini, Eleuthera, Harbour Island, and more. Travel here is easy due to its close proximity to Miami through a number of airports. There are seemingly endless options here. All of the islands in this region are flat (so no hiking here) which means long stretches of beaches and aqua waters. This is also a great region for speciality diving such as shark diving and treasure hunting.

The Virgin Islands Boating Expo will take place May 10-12, 2024 at Yacht Haven Grande St. Thomas, the USVI’s top yachting destination.

This boutique destination show, hosted by the Virgin Islands Professional Charter Association, ticks the top three boxes of what yacht buyers today want in a yacht sales experience: the ability to yacht shop, wine and dine, and stay and play — making for a unique kind of boat show-meets-food-festival event.

“We welcome our attendees, both the public and those flying into our award-winning destination, to visit with yacht dealers, manufacturers, exhibitors, and our local and global vendors,” said Joseph Boschulte, USVI Commissioner of Tourism. “Experience the best of what the U.S. Virgin Islands offers on land and sea and shop for a yacht while you’re here.”

Yacht shoppers can take advantage of duty-free tax benefits when buying in the USVI.  

It’s another major event for the Yacht Haven Grande Marina, which saw a major boom during the pandemic and continues to be a premier yachting jump-off point in the broader region.

The Government of the Virgin Islands also supports infrastructure on shore to maintain charter business interests such as an Economic Development Commission Tax Incentive Program for charter yachts. 

Charter company professionals, financial companies and Marine Expo vendors with global and local products will be on hand to talk about charter management opportunities in the USVI.
