Tankoa 50M S501 (New – 2025) Description

The TANKOA 50M S501 Superyacht is part of the successful S501 series, all built in aluminium and designed by Francesco Paszkowski, just below 500GT. This motor yacht for sale is actually the seventh hull built out from the same platform and therefore a very well proven project, boasting a very efficient hull, relatively light displacement and shallow draft, which means also very low consumption levels. This 163’ 5” yacht is now under construction and available for sale, with delivery planned by June 2025.

The timeless design is sleek and ingenious. The horizon is a luxury that the S501 gifts again and again. Glass bulwarks and fold-out balconies maximise the many uninterrupted views of water and landscape. The generous relaxation areas are wide open spaces that invite you to spread out, to roam, to share or relish your privacy. Handcrafted to the Owner’s specifications, the TANKOA 50M S501 is the finest and most beautiful 50metre vessel on the water today featuring a wonder of comfort and modern elegance.

Stepping onboard, you will immediately notice the amazing large spaces. Her innovative layout makes the S501 seem far larger than any other 50 metre yacht with a 9.4 metre beam. The aft terrace is especially wide. A true lounge of refined luxury.

Foldable balconies open out both sides to extend the terrace area and enhance the sense of boundless freedom. The open-air deck can be fitted with sunbeds, sofas, coffee tables and a bar. Owner’s choice, naturally.

The upper deck terrace is intended as a large dining space and panoramic lounge. From the higher vantage, the horizon appears amplified. Here is pure relaxation. Inside this deck, an inspired option is the custom-fitted Venetian blinds filter the sun’s rays to create perfect, bespoke lighting. The frameless glass bulwarks are exclusive to Tankoa Yachts, an installation of rare innovation and skill.

The sundeck includes a spacious living space with pool, from where the panoramic view is made for you.

The beach club platform extends over the water to make a deep, wide pier. This unique and vast modern pleasure area is the place to enter the water and swim, dive, paddleboard. Play as you please.

Designed for total privacy, the foredeck can be customised to house an open-air lounge with retractable columns to support a sun-protective gazebo. Situate your solarium here. The foredeck includes the option of a touch and go helideck. The unique bow shape increases the storage capacity for the tender, e-bikes and jet-skis.

The large interior spaces are for the Owners to assert their style. Custom furniture, marble bathroom fittings and smooth wood aspects are among the options.

The Owner’s en-suite stateroom room on the main deck is the yacht’s most prestigious space. Balconies both sides are for the exclusive use of the Owner – to enjoy the sea without leaving the apartment and to widen this personal saloon. An en-suite VIP cabin is adjacent. The lower deck houses two VIP cabins and two guest cabins, with space for gym and spa. Thus, the yacht can accommodate in comfort and style up to 12 guests in 6 en-suite staterooms.

The TANKOA 50M S501 (traditional propulsion) is engineered for ‘near-silent’ low consumption, long-range cruising and outstanding speed performance. The displacement hull features planing characteristics. With its optimised twin 1599 Hp Diesel engines, this is a yacht that really moves, sailing at a maximum speed of 17 knots and cruising at 15 knots and a maximum range of 3750 nautical miles at her economical speed of 12 knots.

Regarding her previous sisterships, Tankoa have introduced some design updates on this hull, such as larger windows on all decks, less structural pillars between main windows, lengthen the sundeck and no thresholds between cockpits and saloons, just to mention a few.

Sunseeker 50m Ocean vs Mangusta Oceano 50

While the two superyachts feature similar specifications, we look into what it is that sets them apart...….

What both Sunseeker and Mangusta have done right with their 50 metre superyachts, is they’ve understood, and considered, what modern superyacht owners are looking for. On first impression, both vessels connote ideas of a connection to luxury, exploration and comfort, but by delving deeper into the various features and specifications we can better understand how each brand has been tailored to their target market. Both vessels are a fine example of what modern superyacht owners are looking for, with the Mangusta Oceano 50 having made its debut appearance at Monaco Yacht Show 2021 and the Sunseeker 50m Ocean expected to make its debut appearance in 2023.

In the recently released The Superyacht New Build Report we extensively covered just how much activity there is in the market. The demand for superyachts in the 40-60 metre market is enormous and the only question is whether or not the shipyards will be able to deliver on their current orders books on time and on budget. The question is not whether one model is better than the other, specific tastes and personal needs are big enough variables to make that conversation as ambitious as the Ferrari vs Lamborghini argument. A more positive discourse would be to identify what makes the two models so desirable in their own unique and similar ways.

50 metre superyacht

While they are both the same size in LOA and GT, the Sunseeker standard guest configuration is for ten guests in five cabins, with scope for up to 12 to be accommodated depending upon the layout chosen. Meanwhile, the owner of Alisa opted for a five-cabin layout on the lower deck with four guest cabins. The vessel also features a master suite positioned on the main deck which is fitted with an automated balcony overlooking the sea - a fine example of the builders customisable prowess.

There has previously been some speculation of the use of ‘maximum speed’ as a specification when selling superyachts. The argument being that superyachts spend such a small amount of their time at full speed that it would be better to focus on cruising speed and overall fuel consumption. With that being said, the engineering of both superyachts make for an interesting read and comparison. The power on board ‘ Alisa ’, the first Mangusta 50 Ocean to have launched, comes from two MTU 12V 2000 M86 engines, they produce a top speed of 16 knots and a range of 4,000 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 11 knots. The power on board the Sunseeker also comes from two MTU engines with a PS of 5,280 stemming from shaft propulsion which can carry the vessel to a top speed of 20.5 knots.

50 metre superyacht

The kind of language that each shipbuilder has used to market the vessel is indicative of their target audience as well as the overall aim and message of the yacht. The Mangusta has been heralded for having a strong, powerful and sleek personality which can offer comfortable cruising at any longitude of the equator. Meanwhile, the Sunseeker retains its iconic exterior lines, and compelling features, but includes a plunge pool on the main deck and beach club with drop down bulwarks. The aim of this yacht is to set a precedent for a new era at Sunseeker and to include the qualities of much larger luxury yachts in a more appreciable form.

The descriptions attached to the vessels are an example of the importance of marketing luxury products and how ship builders from two different countries want to create a theme around their products. It appears that the Italian company believes strength, power and performance are what sells a 50 metre yacht. However, the British company has opted to make space, flexibility and volume the main drivers of their marketing campaign.

As the fleet size grows and the industry is able to capitalise on designs and features which prove popular, there is no doubt that we will start to see more superyachts with unique brand flairs but of largely similar specs and outlines. Hypothetically speaking, if one were able to sit in a coffee shop along the coast of the Mediterranean, and watch superyachts sail across the distant bay over a 50 year period. Do you think they could still point out the distinguishing features of various shipbuilders like they once could in the 70s and 80s, or would they struggle with some of the emerging models?

As one experienced yacht broker noted to SuperyachtNews, “It’s really down to the reputation of the ship builders at the end of the day. I’ve found in my experience that nationality, as well as heritage, plays a big part in making up the difference between two superyachts. Once you get past that, it’s normally about the reputation; what have they done in the past and what are people going to associate them with if they have that boat?”

So essentially, what we have here are two brands with an enormous heritage who have managed to fine tune one particular size of superyacht. While they have many very similar specifications and technical profiles it will be the brand's history and unique flair that will ultimately sell the prospective dream to a potential client.

Riva 50 Race

Riva – 50 Metre Race

SY65-Spring-2020

Riva 50 Race

“Race”, is the name the owner chose. This jewel is the latest from the Riva boat yard which was founded by Carlo Riva . Today’s 50 metre is built in steel and aluminium at Riva’s Superyachts Division in Ancona which the yard’s in house engineering team drew up with input from Ferretti Group and Officina Italiana Design which has an exclusive design contract applicable to all Riva yachts. The owner contributed during the initial phases and requested custom built decor to the interior layout according to his personal tastes and chose free standing furniture for the exteriors. The exterior design work by Mauro Micheli and Sergio Beretta offers timeless classic styling so as to avoid falling for what is currently labelled as trendy one moment, and is gone the very next. Long lasting traits instead like the aquamarine used for the waterline, embellishing steel elements applied to some of the structural parts with mahogany strips lining the bulwarks and the toe and grab rails.

Original video by the shipyard

Liberal use of this precious essence is also found below decks where this wood’s dark colour prevails over other components in polished steel, leather and some of the furniture’s diverse grey hues as well as several other details such as precious carpets that are deployed to protect Apuan white marble flooring. The same stone essentially but of the statuarietto variety, enriches coffee table tops and lines bathroom walls with darker streaks which highlight the contrast with the furniture’s mahogany lining and lacquered grey finishes. This styling is repeated along each of this 50 metres Riva yacht’s five decks which sports something just below 500 GRT in spite of the numerous liveable areas the owner and his guests can enjoy. The passage ways installed enhance an already enviable sense of privacy where separate corridors for crew and guests are the norm.

Riva 50 Race

Stepping on board from the stern into a large cockpit with Nomex® , free standing furniture which is light in terms of weight and is practically insensitive to heat and cold and highly durable through time. It is generally used at best in the aerospace industry. A large shoe basket, an icemaker and a pop-up 55” television set complete the picture. The interiors, engine room or beach area can be accessed from here as well. The beach area comprises two platforms one on port side the other on starboard side resulting in a larger surface area engendering greater contact with the surrounding waters normally accessed by using the sets of carbon steps on each side, which can be also deployed to launch and recover a Williams Dieseljet 625 tender. Crossing the threshold leading into the interiors, visiting guests are confronted with an ample bright open space featuring large window like ports where there’s plenty of room for a living area equipped with a leather sofa seating up to eight, a television cabinet, and a dining area with a cut glass table and a seating capacity of up to ten adjacent to a pair of lateral doors opening out towards the exteriors. Enormous cut glass sliding doors seem to effectively reduce the dividing line between the surroundings and the numerous mirrored surface areas creating en ever growing play of bounding light which seems to increase the volume of the interiors further.

The bow area along the main deck reserved for the owner’s quarters covers a surface area of 70 square metres. The layout comprises three separate spots; a foyer with private study, a lounge with media room and the master cabin with bathroom en suite. Special care has been taken to dampen noise levels in the master cabin. At cruising speeds noise levels are never more than 40 Decibel. All of the four guest cabins, three of which are doubles and one is a twin, are situated along the lower deck as the crew quarters are. Obviously access to each is separate from the other. The crew’s quarters are inclusive of dinette, galley, cold cellar and storage facility. The captain’s cabin is situated adjacent to the helm controls station along the main deck which also hosts a covered living area, with sofa, armchairs, wine cellar and thanks to a dumb waiter this area can double as a place in which to enjoy evening drinks and exquisite dishes in the exterior dining area featuring a corian table for 14 and a pair of electric windscreens on each side.

Astern of this but separated by a 180° swivel and pop up television there’s a furnished area featuring custom built sofas and armchairs. To enjoy even greater privacy when tied up in a port, the bow lounge can be deployed instead. Beneath this there’s a hangar in which to stow a rescue craft and several water toys. The sundeck covers an area of 120 square metres, 90 of these are shaded by a hardtop. A sun bathing spot, a pool with an incorporated hydro massage, a dining zone with BBQ and a rotating pop up television set complete the picture. Every interior and exterior section sports Lutron domotic technology through which you can also exploit diversely lit scenarios accordingly. With a pair of 1,000KW MTU 8V4000M63 engines, Riva “Race” can reach a top speed of 15.5 knots and at 11.0 knots it can cover 3,500 nautical miles without having to refuel.

The technologies on the Riva Race

As a highly sophisticated yacht, Riva “Race” comes with the latest innovation in technologies, custom developed by two Italians highly specialized companies: Videoworks and Team Italia.

Videoworks ( www.videoworksgroup.com ) has designed the AV, IT, TV/Sat, CCTV, IP telephony and home automation system. The AV-IT system was designed according to the philosophy of a distributed system – every cabin/hall has a local rack containing the AV electronics. The audio system in the internal and external premium areas has the James Loudspeaker marine speakers. IP telephony is based on a Panasonic switchboard with fixed and cordless terminals.

The IT infrastructure (cabled and Wi-Fi) is made entirely with Cisco hardware, a world leader in terms of reliability and performance. IP telephony is based on a Panasonic switchboard with fixed and cordless terminals.

Thanks to its considerable experience and long-term partnership with Lutron (a world leading company in the production of light control systems), Videoworks has designed and built the on-board home automation system, i.e. the intelligent control of lights and blinds in the guest area, which makes time on board even more comfortable and pleasant.

The CCTV system is made up entirely of professional Panasonic products. It includes 5 high-resolution IP cameras and a network recorder for recording video flows and archiving them in encrypted form.

Additionally, the satellite TV receiving system has a double antenna with arbitrator, which guarantees optimal signal without blind spots.

Team Italia ( www.team-italia.it ) has designed the innovative I-Bridge® solution with multicontrol and 38” full HD stretched display.

Navigation is made easier by two integrated side flaps and by the exclusive TEAM Italia EMAS (Electronic Moving Assistant System), which processes the data from the 3D sensors and makes manoeuvring the yacht easier

tankoa-s501

Revealed: Tankoa 50m superyacht Olokun underway

Tankoa’s 50 metre all-aluminium superyacht  S501 Olokun has been captured underway for the first time following delivery.

The yacht, which is the third hull in Tankoa’s 50 metre series following  Bintador  and  Vertige , was launched in Genoa on September 12 and sold by Camper & Nicholsons.

Started on spec, Olokun was sold in March 2020 and features a striking black hull and metallic grey superstructure.

Designed by  Francesco Paszkowski , Olokun features a layout largely the same as the two sisterships but with two main differences. The main deck aft will be wholly dedicated to a large lounging area while the forward master cabin will feature a private lounge that can be converted into an extra ensuite cabin.

Previously speaking about the alteration, Tankoa chief executive Vincenzo Poerio said:  “S501 hull number three was started on spec and the owner came into the project quite late during construction, but as a boutique shipyard we wanted to offer him maximum flexibility to tailor the yacht to his personal needs."

Poerio described the master cabin as "a good example".

"It meant cutting a hole in the bulkhead and re-routing all the wiring so his private office could be converted into a cabin." The interior decor meanwhile has been designed by Casadio Miami.

Power will come from conventional diesel propulsion for a top speed of 17.5 knots and a cruising speed of 14 knots.

50 metre superyacht

50m superyacht concept by AES Yacht

A new 50-metre superyacht concept has taken shape in Turkey – and the sleek modern design is fresh from  AES Yacht ’s drawing boards.

The Turkish shipyard is no stranger to radical designs, delivering the overly contoured 71-metre superyacht  Victoria  in 2019, styled by  H2 Yacht Design  and  Gresham Yacht Design . Currently in-build at  AES Yacht  are three charismatic explorers, all designed by the Italian studio  Hot Lab . The largest being the 68-metre  ICE 68 , scheduled for completion later this year.

50 metre superyacht

The sub-500 GT superyacht has a beam of 9-metres and promises accommodation for as many as 12 guests. She’s been designed with an abundance of outdoor living space aft, with a very generous beach club complete with a plunge pool as well as fixed and removable lounge seating.

Her main deck is protected by an overhanging canopy and is home to more comfortable seating. For alfresco dining, guests can make use of her upper deck where a large circular dining table is located. Up top on her sun deck sits a Jacuzzi and a casual area that boasts panoramic views.

The  AES 50  has been presented with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure.  AES Yacht  suggests twin  Caterpillar  C32 engines for a cruising speed of 11.5 knots and a top speed of 14.5 knots.
