In a tiny town of less than 3,000 people, nestled on the border between New York and Pennsylvania, sits a quaint looking inn. Its grounds along the Susquehanna River are dotted with friendly farm animals, an outdoor gazebo and appropriately-themed farm art.
From its country house charm and unassuming exterior, one might never suspect it has been repeatedly voted one of the most haunted hotels in America .

Welcome to the Fainting Goat Island Inn , a former railroad hotel built along the Erie/Lackawanna line in 1850. This Southern Tier guesthouse has been in the top five on USA Today’s list for at least three years running and is part the New York state Haunted History Trail .
With just five bedrooms, it’s the smallest haunted hotel on the USA Today list, sharing company with grand historic relics like the Hotel Saranac in the Adirondacks, the Stanley Hotel in Colorado and Nashville’s Union Station hotel.
How could one little hotel hold so many ghost stories? We had to find out.
Owner Marnie Streit greeted us as we pulled into the circular driveway. With her welcoming smile and the myriad of rescue cats and dogs coming to say hello, it was still hard to believe we were visiting a haunted hollow.

Streit purchased the home in 2007. Though there was a lot of work to be done, she said as soon as she stepped inside, she could see the inn completely finished. She had no idea it was legend to be haunted, but as a self-proclaimed skeptic, that information would have fallen on deaf ears.
“I wouldn’t have cared because I didn’t believe in that stuff,” she said. “It made no difference to me.”
The property does have an island, which can be viewed by the riverside seating. The inn also has a whole pen of fainting goats. Streit had never owned goats, but after losing a sister to breast cancer, she found herself laughing at so many viral videos of their fainting antics online, she had to have them.
Guests are sometimes given crackers to feed the goats and though they sometimes stiffened a little, we didn’t experience any fainting livestock.
Upon entering the home, the interior has been fully restored and is meticulously decorated with a Victorian flair from the wallpaper to the furniture. Antique dolls are placed throughout the home and aged photographs line the walls.

Streit said her father loved to collect old phonographs and records. She’s continued the tradition by having 14 throughout the house, and some of them still work. The whir of the record winding up, the crackle of Vernon Dalhart from the 1920s singing “The Runaway Train,” was enough to set the spooky scene for all of the ghost stories we were about to hear.
Streit and her partner Bill Gamble led us from room to room telling us stories of paranormal happenings that both they and some of her guests experienced. She also told us that during the restoration process there was a knife that fell out of the ceiling in one room and clothes found stuffed in the floorboards.

The home has been featured on the Travel Channel’s “Hotel Paranormal” and several ghost hunting groups have visited. Streit said there have been haunted experiences reported in every room and once the teams leave, the inn seems very active.
“The house can sometimes get really noisy, even when there are no guests here,” she said.
Each room is named for a different goat breed and each room has different ghosts that frequent them. In one room there’s a little boy who likes to hide under the bed and his laughter can be heard in the night. Two women drinking tea are often seen in the room across the hall. In another guest room, an apparition of a young man in a Civil War uniform is reported time and time again.

Guests are allowed to explore the first two floors of the house. They’re also welcome to go up into the attic — at their own risk.
In addition to the more human spirits, Streit said a ghostly house cat has been said to jump on guest beds and walk across them while they sleep. Though there are friendly mortal cats that live at the inn, guests say their door was locked and there was no cat in the room.
There are small notebooks in each room where guests write reviews of their stay and sometimes tales of the things that went bump in the night. Some of the most frequent reports include the sounds of footsteps up and down the hall, doorknobs jostling, phonographs winding themselves and scratching along the walls.

Streit herself said she’s experienced furniture moving across the room, disembodied voices, the sound of chains being dragged across the ceiling and being pushed off the bed. She regaled us with many stories from both her and her visitors, but gave an account for one particularly unexplainable experience in one of the guest rooms.
“It was one o’clock in the morning and it was a school night. I left downstairs and came upstairs and I heard someone walking up and down the hall, which is not unusual in this house, but nobody was here. You could hear someone going through the hall closing the open doors — ‘click’ ‘click’ — I get up finally and look out and there’s nothing there and the doors are all open.
I ended up laying down again and I got a Hardy Boys and I finally got tired enough that I turned out the light. It was just a minute or two when I felt something and then I heard it. It was like a raspy ‘Get out.’ That was scary,” she said. “I still can’t explain that away.”
The ghostly activity can sometimes get to an exhausting point where Streit tells the spirits she needs to sleep for her day job as a physical education teacher.

Though the haunted tales and paranormal activity seem endless, not every group experiences the phenomena. However, Marnie and Bill’s visitors fill the guest books with everything from their comfortable accommodations and cinnamon buns in the morning, to the friendly hosts and visiting with the endearing farm animals.

Why Is Satan Depicted as a Goat in Scripture?
Hope Bolinger Author
Updated Feb 01, 2023
Even if we haven’t had a chance to explore Scripture much, we understand that sheep tend to have good, heavenly connotations. And goats have, well, the opposite. Besides the goats of Mount Gilead verse in Song of Solomon 4 , we don’t really see goats having a positive connotation in Scripture.
For those of us familiar with images of the occult, we often know that they will use a goat, especially those in Satanism circles. So why does the creature of a goat represent the devil? Didn’t he appear as a serpent in the Garden of Eden ( Genesis 3 )?
In this article, we’ll explore the symbolism of goats in Scripture, what Scripture has to say about goats versus sheep, and why Satan is ultimately a goat.
What Do Goats Symbolize in Scripture?
Goats represent a number of things in Scripture, but to go to the source, we need to explore one of the most famous Jewish Holidays: Yom Kippur , otherwise known as The Day of Atonement .
During this holiday, two goats would be used ( Leviticus 16 ). One, the azazel goat, would have all the sins symbolically placed on it when the high priest laid hands on it. Once the sins “were placed” they would drive the goat out into the desert, thus driving out Israel’s sins into the desert. For more information on the two goats used during Yom Kippur, check out this article here .
Azazel is a much debated topic, but many believed it to be a desert demon or force of evil out in the desert.
Aside from the Matthew parable we will discuss in a moment about the goats on the left and the lambs on the right, Scripture doesn’t have many explicit negative connotations for goats. For those, we have to explore what they mean in paganism.
The Norse religions used goats in worship, including Thor’s chariot being driven by horses. Pan, the Greek satyr, had temples. And, of course, we can’t forget Baphomet who makes an appearance during the Middle Ages and has stuck around since.
Even if we exclude goats and how they’ve played a role in pagan worship, we do need to observe how the scapegoat plays a large role in Yom Kippur and essentially personifies evil.
Sites of religions of the occult glorify the goat for this reason, because of what it represents.
What About Baphomet?
We’ve often heard of goats being associated with witchcraft and Satan himself. The Bible never seems to have many good things to say about this creature ( Matthew 25:31-46 ), so it should come as no surprise that one of the statues of the Satanic temple, known as Baphomet, has a goat’s head. The Baphomet is a goat-like man that was originally created in 1856 by Éliphas Lévi as an occultic symbol of balance. It became expressly associated with Satanism when it appeared as a depiction of the devil in a tarot card deck.
The Baphomet was later adopted as an identifying symbol by the movement of Satanism at large. (excerpt provided by Christianity.com: Baphomet )
How Are Goats Different than Sheep?
The Bible does seem to draw distinctions between these two livestock, especially in a parable that we will discuss in the next section.
So what actually differs these two from one another?
Apart from the fact they look different, the characteristics of these animals may hint at the reasons why believers are sheep and unbelievers are goats.
Sheep are dependent on their shepherd. They have a reputation for not topping the lists of the most intelligent animals, but they do trust and depend on their shepherd. Goats on the other hand have a reputation for self-reliance and stubbornness . This could, perhaps, reflect the worldly idea of leaning on one’s self for support and guidance, rather than God.
We can draw an obvious parallel that Christians seek to usher in Shalom as we await for the arrival of Christ. Non-believers, instead, head down paths of destruction, whether intentional or not.
Physiologically sheep and goats do look somewhat similar.
If we didn’t have the savvy of a shepherd, we may mix up the two. That’s why this article also argues that perhaps the sheep and the goats in Scripture not only represent believers and unbelievers, but believers and imposters. We hear countless stories of so-called “Christians” who divide churches, commit apostasy, and lead a great many away from the faith.
That’s why we must determine the difference between these two. Because although the two animals look similar, they act very differently.
What Does the Bible Say about Goats?
I want to highlight one passage in particular that often makes people think of sheep vs. goats.
When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me. – Matthew 25:31-46
The “goats” in this passage experience eternal judgment. The sheep enter eternal life. We do have to make note that the two must be separated, meaning the sheep could not tell the goats apart from the sheep. Scripture often talks about this separation in a number of ways, such as the wheat from the chaff, the weeds from the wheat, etc.
Daniel also has a vision of a goat (Alexander the Great, Daniel 8 ), that conquers and wreaks destruction. The Bible does not use this symbol lightly. Alexander ushered in Hellenism that sought to destroy the Jewish world and everything they stood for.
4 Reasons Satan Is a Goat
From the above research, we can derive four reasons why Satan is represented as a goat.
1. Pagan Religions Use Goat Imagery
2. Goats Exemplify Self-Reliance and Destruction
A shepherd has control over his flock, a goat herder does not. If a goat herder doesn’t keep a vigilant eye on his goats, he may allow them to harm the other animals, such as cases of goats chewing off horse’s tails.
They escape enclosures and destroy landscaping .
3. The Goats Scatter the Sheep
As we noted in the Matthew passage above, God has to separate the sheep and goats. That means goats have infiltrated the church and Christian circles.
Imposter Christians can appear as physiologically close to a sheep for a while, but in the end, a goat is a goat and a sheep is a sheep.
4. Jewish Religious Practices Equate Goats with Evil
Yom Kippur would place all the sins on a scapegoat and drive it out into the desert, the azazel goat. Azazel represented evil. It represented a desert demon or desert evil of some sort.
The harmful anti-gospel of the goats may catch us by surprise. It may ask us to rely on ourselves and exercise stubbornness. It may glorify destructive behaviors.
And if we don’t exercise vigilance, we may find that the goat gospel looks nearly identical to the sheep one. Therefore, we must turn to the Shepherd and trust in his words and guidance.

Originally posted by About this mod : This mod is probably the one that took me the longest to release after I started it, but it's finally here! It combines two main ideas I had when I started modding on Goat Sim: The first one is the possibility to control NPCs (I wanted to include that in the Target Goat mod). The second is the possibility to fly. I started this mod by creating the ghost mode, which means creating a new body that is transparent, can fly and can pass through objects. Ironically the thing in this list I spent a lot of time on is the transparency X) The main problem was that you can't just add alpha using code, or more precisely you can, but if the texture of the goat doesn't have the correct parameters it has no effect at all -_- Hopefully the 1.1 update saved me by adding a transparent texture on every goat (used when the camera is too close to the goat). When the ghost was done, I started thinking about a better way to control NPCs. The first method I thought about was to convert the GGNpc object into a GGGoat object and then control it with the default player controller: This method was way too hard to implement and that's why abandoned the idea during the Target Goat conception. The second method was to turn the goat invisible and to attach it to the NPC. This was working nicely, except for moving the NPC: The AI of the NPC was completely broking the player commands and the NPC was acting not at all as expected. Finally the last method I imagined, and the one in the current version, just attach the player controller to the GGNpc object. This is only possible since 1.1, the only remaining problem with this method is that the camera is a bit crappy: As the controlled object is not a GGGoat, the camera mode is set to default and you lost all the effects of the goat camera (zoom, smooth moves, bounces when sprinting, etc...). So with this last method, the movements are working correctly, I just had to manually configure the ragdoll key and the animations to play on the NPC.

The 10 best clothing abilities in Goat Simulator 3
With great power, comes great destructive force.
November 16, 2022
Goat Simulator 3 Guides
Screenshot by Gamepur
Goat Simulator 3 is filled with clothing for you to collect and equip onto your goat. While there are a lot of different clothing items that don’t offer anything special, many clothing items have abilities that can help you traverse the map, paint the walls, or cause mass destruction. Depending on the items you equip, you can create serious mayhem across the city and the outer areas. This guide aims to show you some of the best clothing abilities in Goat Simulator 3 ranked from worst to best.
10. Ghost Movie Prop
The Ghost Movie Prop isn’t the most destructive clothing item in the game but it is one of the most iconic. If you aren’t aware, this item is styled after the Ghost Trap from Ghostbusters . The only difference between the movie version and the game; the Goat Simulator version releases the captured ghosts and allows them to possess the people wandering the streets of downtown. Possessed humans will perform strange actions as they spin and float away.
9. Firework Launcher
There have been multiple open-world games over the years that give you a rocket launcher that shoots fireworks as a weapon, such as Saints Row and Grand Theft Auto V. Goat Simulator 3 takes fireworks and makes them very destructive. Launch a firework from the Fireworks Launcher and you will see people, cars, and the neighbor’s cat go flying through the air. Hit a person with it to make them go out like a star in a flash of light. Just don’t press Alt + F4.
8. Rocket Boots
Everyone has that secret dream of wanting to be a secret agent or even a superhero. Well, you won’t be a superhero in Goat Simulator but at least you can pretend with the Rocket Boots. This set of fancy footwear allows you to access a dash that launches you forward with great speed. While there can be a few glitches, most of the time these boots will send you flying around town, crashing into things at high speeds. Combine them with a set of wings and you can spend hours soaring across the sky.
7. Goat Queen
Have you ever thought about how it would be amazing to be the queen of all goat kinds? You could have countless subjects, all of them goats, bowing before you. After ranking up in the Illuminati, not only will you find a fancy new throne waiting for you, but a skull mask as well. The Goat Queen head allows you to summon your loyal subjects with the press of a button. They will fall from the sky around you, pummeling anything caught in their path. Unfortunately, they won’t move after hitting the ground, but the effect is still there.
6. Leaf Blower
Life on the farm and in the big city isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Sometimes, after a long day of causing mayhem, you need to get to work and clean up your mess. The Leaf Blower backpack is a great tool that can be turned on and off at will. Once on, it stays on and allows you to blow away anything that is in your path, including large trucks. Anything that isn’t nailed down will go soaring through the air when it feels the destructive force of your Leaf Blower.
5. Space Helmet
There are a lot of items that have similar effects to one another so it is nice to see clothing items that stand out, and nothing stands out as much as the Space Helmet. While this item is unfortunately only available as part of the Digital Downgrade Edition of the game, it is worth using. Activating this helmet creates an anti-gravity field around you, allowing you to jump higher, hit people harder, and make objects float. Plus you get the benefit of looking like you’re straight out of a sci-fi movie.
4. Channitatium Shield
For all of the comic book fans out there, Goat Simulator made sure to add a tribute to the one and only Captain America. After delving into the cosplay world, you can emerge with the Channitatium Shield. Though it may not look like it, this shield is just as strong as Vibranium and can even disobey the laws of physics as it bounces around the map. Launch this shield at any target and it will keep bouncing until you call it back. You can even get yourself an entire cosplay outfit to go along with the shield.
3. Demon Face
Some clothing items let you blow things up and others let you blast off like Team Rocket from Pokémon. These items are fun to use, but nothing causes true chaos in the same way that the Demon Face does. Complete with massive horns and glowing eyes, the Demon Face head allows you to create a whirlwind of chaos that sucks in nearby objects and people and swirls them together until you tell it to stop. Warning: This whirlwind does have a habit of causing spontaneous combustion, especially when cars are involved.
Excuse the massive horns and focus on the old lady sitting on the goat’s back in a rocking chair while holding a bazooka. This backpiece is called Karring and this little old lady packs a punch. This piece of clothing gets extra points for being extremely unorthodox and absurd. To obtain this clothing item, you need to go through an entire Wolfenstein – style basement filled with bazooka-wielding grandmas. While you might think that grandma fires rockets, she actually shoots large yoga balls that can throw people and cars.
1. Satellite Dish
If you haven’t had the experience yet, find a satellite dish on the roof of a barn, skyscraper, or news van, and walk into it. You will disappear into the satellite dish before getting launched into the unknown. Sometimes, these satellite dishes are lined up and can take you great distances. You can get one of these dishes on your back and it allows you to share this teleportation technology with the world. Activate the Satellite Dish on your back to absorb an item next to you like a person, car, or lemonade stand, and activate the dish again to launch the object across the world. That’s the power of radio waves!

All lost movie tapes locations in Goat Simulator 3: The Lost Tapes quest
How did these tapes all get scattered in the first place?
Goat Simulator 3 is the latest chaotic adventure from Coffee Stain Studios and manages to evolve on everything that made the first game special. There is a wide range of new quests and collectibles to keep players’ attention, including finding lost tapes for a movie theater. Players won’t be told where to look, just that these tapes are somewhere in the world.
Fortunately, you won’t have to look very far to ensure you return all the tapes back to the movie theater. Here’s all the information you need to know about where to find all the lost movie tapes for the Lost Tapes quest in Goat Simulator 3.
All lost movie tapes locations
Once you find one of the lost tapes, bring it back to the movie theater and place it inside the large tape player inside the theater.
Tape one – Horror Movie
You’ll find one of the lost tapes on top of the movie theater, which means you’ll need to use the bouncy surfaces and fire escapes to climb to the roof. Once you get there, collect the Horror Movie tape from the middle of the roof and carry it back into the theater.
Tape two – Love
This tape is also hidden near the theater and is much easier to get to. First, head to the front of the theater and face the entrance. Then, go to the right side of the building and follow the wall until you see a wooden bridge. Across that wooden bridge, you’ll notice a lost tape sitting on a beach towel next to a volleyball.
Tape three – Co-living with a Goat EP 01
You’ll need to look in this house in the Suburbs to find the Co-living with a Goat lost tape. It’s located directly east of the Pool Party location. You’ll know you’re at the right house when you hear the old song from the original Goat Simulator. Inside, you’ll see a living area with the tape laying next to some workout equipment.
Tape four – Where the Heck is Steve?
To find the “Where the Heck is Steve?” lost tape, you should head to the town square in Downtown. In the main square, you can look behind the red stairs in the booth to find the tape sitting on the top of the counter.
Tape five – Reinfaus – A Bag’s Beginning
To find the Reinfaus tape, you’ll need to head to the top of this building in the downtown area. You can get here by following the power lines leading down from the building and then using them to grind to the top. You’ll find the Reinfaus lost tape on top of a billboard that’s advertising the same movie.
This article will continue to be updated as soon as more tapes are found.

Posted: January 11, 2024 | Last updated: January 11, 2024
How to get to the mountaintops of the giants, how to get helphen's steeple, what does helphen's steeple do.
Those looking to incorporate Death Sorceries and magics into their Elden Ring adventure will definitely want to check out Helphen's Steeple, a large Greatsword with the ability to deal additional Magic damage thanks to its Ghostflame-based ability. The large sword looks fantastic for anyone opting for a "darker knight" style, thanks to its large jutting spikes and blackened blade.

Thankfully, Helphen's Steeple isn't too difficult to find for those that are interested in it but it does lie in a pretty late-game zone. Here's a look at where players can find Helphen's Steeple in Elden Ring and exactly what the imposing great sword can do for players that want to incorporate the mystical fire of Ghostflame into their potential builds.
Updated January 10th, 2024 by Russ Boswell : There are a lot of interesting weapons to be found in Elden Ring, some of them with powerful abilities and modifiers on them. Those looking to dish out Frostbite damage will want to take a look at Helphen's Steeple and interesting Greatsword capable of dishing out solid damage at higher levels. Finding Helphen's Steeple can be a bit challenging for those who don't know where to look, as it's found much later in the game. To better help players in tracking down the location for Helphen's Steeple in Elden Ring , the following guide now includes a companion video.
In order to snag Helphen's Steeple, players are first going to have to head all the way to The Mountaintops of the Giants, which is a zone located almost as far North from the starting area of Limgrave as possible. To get there, players will first need to make their way to the Altus Plateau. This can be done by piecing together the hidden Dectus Medallion and riding the Grand Lift of Dectus . Alternatively, players who think they can take on the Magma Wyrm Makar can climb to the top of the Ruin-Strewn Precipice and fell the lava-spewing beast to gain entry to the plateau the back way.
After that, players will need to head through Leyndell, Royal Capital , and then take the lift inside the city to reach the Forbidden Lands. There, players will come across the Grand Lift of Rold, and an NPC that will reward them with the appropriate medallion needed to operate it (just before the lift stairs). Once players make it to the top of the lift, they'll be in the snow-laden area that contains Helphen's Steeple.
To actually get their hands on the greatsword, players need to deal with a rather strange boss that's actually hidden fairly well. The Mountaintops of the Giants has its own Tibia Mariner that players will need to take down, but he's pretty far into the zone, near Castle Sol. To reach him, players should start from the Snow Valley Ruins Overlook Site of Grace, near the Minor Erdtree on the map (it's across the bridge before the Erdtree). Heading Northwest towards the cliffside close to Castle Sol , players can peer down over the edge and find a Tibia Mariner rowing its boat on a small bit of cliff. Players that jump down can engage the boss, but beware as the area is pretty small. Those that fail to find the Tibia Mariner quickly may fall victim to its massive skeletons, which it summons whenever a player is nearby.
Once the boss falls, players will be rewarded with Helphen's Steeple.

Helphen's Steeple is a greatsword that primarily scales with Intelligence and Strength, with a minor scale in Dexterity. Players will need 22 Intelligence, 19 Strength, and 10 Dexterity to wield the sword correctly. It uses Somber Simithing Stones to upgrade, and when fully upgraded it packs quite a punch both physically and magically (its parameters at Level 10 are an even 247 for both). What makes Helphen's Steeple such an interesting weapon is its unique skill, Ruinous Ghostflame. This ability applies a Ghostflame effect to the weapon which not only boosts its magic damage further but also applies Frostbite build-up.
Elden Ring is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
