In final analysis, a skippered catamaran sailboat vacation cruise is the best solution for everyone. You don't give up anything compared to a conventional vacation, while at the same time you gain a lot more: freedom, intense emotions, the absolute contact with and the serenity offered by the sea...

Why Catamaran?

The catamaran is one of the oldest boat designs in the world.  For thousands of years, people traveled great distances across the unpredictable Pacific in twin hulled vessels because they were extremely efficient to propel.  Twin-hull designs have been used ever since for the very same reasons.  Boaters in Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa have used the twin-hull design for the past three decades to navigate and fish some of the wildest seas in the world.  Commercial ferries use the catamaran design for its greater load capacity, stability and comfort for passengers.

Better Stability, Handling, Rough Water Performance and A Smooth, Dry Ride From a Scientifically Engineered Design

More Comfortable Ride : The catamaran offers a softer ride in rough water than a V-Shape monohull.  Launching from a wave there is a parachute effect - air is trapped between the hulls, softening the blow and minimizing spray.  Cats also turn flatter without the lean of a monohull.

Stability : Catamarans have greater stability; you don't pivot on the centerline like a monohull.  The wider footprint  provides for more deck area, deep fish boxes and maximum storage.  It negates the effect of rolling seas, minimizes side-to-side listing, and allows for greater load capacity. A shallow draft allows access where other boats can't go.

Fuel Efficiency : The twin-hulls of a catamaran have less water resistance than a single, wide bow, producing greater fuel efficiency. High performance using less horsepower and fuel means larger boat comfort with more cost-effective operation.

Day 1: Folegandros

Your flight arrives in Santorini. Captain Nick will be expecting you at the airport to welcome you and escort you to the small port of Ammoudi on the northwest part of the island. From there, we hop on the catamaran Chrysovalandou and sail for Armeni bay to spend the night. There is a traditional taverna in Armeni where we'll taste traditional Greek cuisine.

In the morning, after a nice swim, we have our breakfast and set course for Folegandros. We stop at a beach on the eastern part of the island for snorkeling and fishing for our lunch. In the afternoon, we sail for Karavostassis, the main port of Folegandros. The capital of Folegandros, Chora, is worth visiting as it is one of the most beautiful in the Cyclades.

Day 2: K leftiko

We depart at 11:00AM to Kleftiko, an old, pirates' hideout on the southwest of Milos, for snorkeling in the caves and a tour with the dinghy. We dine on board as there aren't any taverns or houses in Kleftiko. Weather permitting, we spend the night in Kleftiko, one of the most spectacular landscapes in the world.

Day 3: Milos - Kimolos

We sail at 10:00AM for the cavern of Sykia, a spectacular cave with an open, collapsed dome. We get to the small beach inside Sykia with the dinghy for diving and snorkeling.

Later on, we sail to the port of Adamas to stock up on provisions and food and subsequently we depart for the uninhabited isle of Polyegos and the island of Kimolos, two of the prettiest volcanic islands in the Cyclades, to spend the night. In the morning, right after breakfast, we enjoy a fantastic swim in the azure waters of Polyegos.

Day 4: Sifnos

We depart at 16:00 in the afternoon to Vathy, Sifnos, a natural harbor, where we spend the night. Local dishes cooked in Sifnian clay pots await you in the quaint little taverns of Sifnos.

According to ancient mythology, Sifnos is considered to be the island of Apollon, and thus, Olympian Jeus decorated the island with countless beauties. Brilliant white Cycladic houses separated by narrow, cobblestone-paved alleys and more than 250 picturesque chapels are the trademark sights of Sifnos.

Day 5: Paros

Departure at noon for Paros. We stop on the way at the rocky island of Stroggylo to swim, and to fish for our lunch. We arrive in Paros in the afternoon to spend the night. We either relax on board, or take a walk. In the evening, we get to Naousa, Paros, one of the most traditional of villages in the Cyclades with the famous ouzo treateries, for our evening meal.

Day 6: Delos - Mykonos

Departure at 10:00 from Paros for Delos, the holy island of ancient Greece.

In the heart of the Aegean, six miles due west of Mykonos, there is a small, sunny island that constituted the religious and cultural center of antiquity. It is Delos, the island of Apollo and Artemis. The rest of the islands in the archipelago form an imaginary circle around Delos, hence the name: Cyclades.

During your tour of Delos you'll be impressed by the plethora of antiquities on the island. In the afternoon, we sail to the adjacent island of Rinia for a swim, and then on to Mykonos to spend the night.

Day 7: Donousa

Departure at 10:00AM for Donousa, the easternmost island of the archipelago, belonging to the "small" Cyclades island complex. Today numbering 160 inhabitants, during the medieval times Donousa was a pirates' hideout. It has maintained its name since the ancient times.

Around Donousa there are two rocky islets, Makares and Chtenia, where we'll stop for fishing and a swim, weather permitting. In the evening, we'll dine at the tavernas at Vathy Limenari of Donousa, and spend the night there.

Day 8: Amorgos

Day 9: Schinousa

AT 11:00 in the morning we sail for the small Cyclades again. We stop at the uninhabited islands of Keros or Antikeros depending on the weather for a swim, and then on to Iraklia and Schinousa that are next to each other, to spend the night.

Day 10: Naxos

Departure at 10:00AM for Rina bay of Naxos for snorkeling in a cave where sweet water flows and the beach, and then on to the port of Chora, Naxos. There are several sightseeing opportunities in Naxos, so you'll need to rent cars to tour the island.

Naxos is located at the heart of the Aegean. It gazes at the sea and has been traveling since the ancient times carrying a precious cargo - its history of many centuries. It chronicles memories in the endless book of experience to pass on to the young.

Beautiful Naxos is the largest and most fertile island of the Cyclades, and its name is connected in history with splendid mythological narrations, wars, pirate raids, and also creativity. And there, somewhere between fable and reality, while exploring the picturesque back streets of Chora and the villages, one discovers the human spirit has an inexhaustible talent to create dreamy neighborhoods. Naxos borders on many Cycladic islands with which it has regular ferry connection.

To the west is Paros, with Mykonos and Delos to the north, the Small Cyclades (Iraklia, Schinoussa, Keros, Koufonisia) to the south and the small islets Donousa, Stroggyli and Agia Paraskevi to the east.

Ancient mythology places Naxos as the homeland of Dionysus. Blessed by the God of Fun, the island is extraordinarily fertile, producing fruit of exceptional quality, as well as amazing wine from its many vineyards. In addition, the livestock-farming of island is particularly developed and the local cheeses are distinguished for their quality and flavor. In general, Naxos is litteraly a heavenly place.

Day 11: Antiparos

We depart at 12 noon for Antiparos. On the way, we stop at the rocky islets of Trionissia to fish for lunch and a swim. In the evening, we visit a local taverna for chops and spend the night at the amazing bay of Agios Georgios of Antiparos.

Day 12: Ios

After breakfast and a swim in the amazing caves of Antiparos, we sail to the port of Ios to stock up on provisions. You'll have the chance to see the Chora of Ios, and later on, weather permitting, we'll sail to Manganari, Ios, to spend the night.

Day 13: Santorini

Departure in the morning from Manganari, Ios, to Santorini. One of the most beautiful towns in Greece is Fyra, the capital of Santorini, perched on an impressive rocky spot at an elevation of 260 m., built in the latter part of the 18th century.

Santorini is a creation of the menacing forces of nature. It was created by successive volcanic eruptions and is known worldwide for its unique history, the legends associated with the island, the traditional settlements, its cosmopolitan lifestyle, and the magnificent Caldera view. It is the southernmost island of the Cyclades Archipelago, and belongs to a complex of islands consisting of Thira (Santorini itself), Thirasia, Aspronisi, Palia Kameni, and Nea Kameni.

We'll visit Thirasia, the Caldera and swim in the warm waters of Palia Kameni. Prior of spending the night at Armeni, we'll take a donkey ride to the famous tourist destination of Oia, renowned for its magnificent sunset and subterranean dwellings.

Stunning, fantastic day on the sea aboard the Chrysovalantou

Captain Nicolas Xydakis and Polychronis made this the most magical day of our trip. We had not planned or expected to do this, but once the wonderful people at the Psarvolada Resort recommended it so we decided to go for it. It was such a spectacular day meeting people from all over Europe and seeing the passion the Greek people have for their waters, which Captain Nicolas respects and cherishes. Kleftiko was the highlight, but it is at the end of a day of one spectacular sight after another and we had already been swimming through caves and snorkeling in amazing waters so many times we were about exhausted. Still we had to experience it, and we are so glad we did. I would love to go back and hike it, it is a truly magical place.

The first time l visited Kleftiko by boat as everybody else.Last july l walked till there. 3 kms after Xilokeratia village you'll see a sign to your left.Follow the path and after 2,5 kms you'll see the wonderful landscape of Kleftiko from the top!!!Blue transparent water, white rocks!!! It's an unforgetable view!!!l went there very early and l was alone and l left when the boats with the tourists came .

chrysovalantou milos catamaran

We went on other boat tours too, so we can compare and we say: take Oneiro! The price is the same, but what you get is so much more value. Elias is incredible: he speaks English very well and explains many interesting things during the trip. Everything is perfectly timed and organized, so that when you've finished swimming delicious food is ready on the boat. We don't know how he does it: one moment he's bathing with you and taking pictures and the next lunch is magically ready. He actively facilitates a feeling of friendship among his guests, so that everybody feels at ease and involved. At the end of our trip, we also had a magic moment when he turned the engine off and we sailed on quietly enjoying ouzo and an astonishing array of mouth-watering appetizers.

We took the Chrysovalantou catamaran in a daily trip to go there. All day and especially Kleftiko were superb. It is the best thing you can do in this island, do not miss it!

Take one of the day cruises from adamas that goes there and you will not be disappointed. They all provide snorkels and flippedrs, lunch, snacks, drinks, to make it a day you will never forget. Furthermore, they took underwater photos of us snorkeling there and gave to us on a cd for just 3€. The turquoise waters are simply amazing, and snorkeling in the caves will take your breath away. It's the must do thing when in Milo's.

if you want to see the wonder of the nature its one of the best picks , the day we went there although it was very strong nertherly wind at about 7 to 9 knots this part of the island was fairly sheltered from the wind, wonderful, crystal clear water and caves. don't miss if you ever visit milos.

Your captain can make suggestions if you’d like to enter and explore some of them! Next up is the place often known as the most beautiful place on Milos: Kleftiko Beach.

This postcard-perfect spot comes with a fascinating history of pirates and smugglers who once frequented these hidden shores, but today it’s your time to enjoy it!

3. Milos Full-Day Sailboat Cruise with Food and Open Bar

  • Duration: 9 hours
  • Departure:  Adamantas 848 01
  • Departure Time: 8:45 AM
  • Includes: Captain + 1 or 2 crew, tour guide English/Greek, fuel, meal, open bar, speakers, snorkeling gear, lifejackets, goods and taxes fees

The Mediterranean gem of Milos is filled with tourist sites and hidden treasures to explore, but you can’t visit without having seen it from the water.

The Milos Full-Day Sailboat Cruise with Food and Open Bar Tour starts off in the morning so you have the entire day for fun and gallivanting over the crystal-clear waters.

This tour is definitely one of the most exciting of its kind, with the captain and crew playing music on board to set a lighthearted mood. Setting off first thing in the morning, you’ll avoid the crowds and have the electric blue waters all to yourselves.

Your tour guide/captain is super friendly, and makes everyone feel welcome, along with an either 1 or 2-person crew to help them (depending on party size). With an open bar and a fresh-cooked meal, you’re sure to feel relaxed and comfortable, too!

You’ll get to see and explore just about every inch of Milos – even venturing to places that most tourists don’t get to see! Skinopi and Klima fishing Villages are perfect for photo ops, and you’ll make your first stop at the dramatic Cape Vani for some snorkeling and splashing around!

Kalogries Beach is also a great spot for a relaxing swim, before exploring the uniquely uncapped Sykia Cave.

The secluded Kleftiko is the highlight for most, with its white volcanic rocks, elaborate caves, vibrant turquoise waters, and exclusivity.

After spending some time here, you’ll get to discover the pristine landscapes of Poliegos Island, as well aas Sarakiniko (if weather permits). This will undoubtedly be one of your favorite activities in Milos, just like it was for us!

4. Milos Small-Group Full-Day Cruise with Snorkelling and Lunch

  • Duration: 8 hours
  • Departure:  PCFW+PH9 Adamantas, Greece
  • Includes: Snacks, lunch, alcoholic beverages, soda, bottled water, use of snorkeling gear, GoPro camera, wi-fi on board

This next tour I found to be very similar to the previous one, with more of a focus on music and a bit of a “party” vibe.

The Milos Small-Group Full-Day Cruise with Snorkelling and Lunch Tour kind of felt like one of the typical Croatian boat days, where everyone has access to alcoholic beverages, snacks, and loud music blasting on board.

Of course, if your party is looking for something more relaxing, there are plenty of other tours on this guide that are perfect for that, too.

Starting out at 10:00 am, you’ll meet the captain and crew where they’ll escort you on board your vessel for the day. Right from the very beginning it was obvious that the captain and skipper were serious about making sure we all had a great time, paying attention to the slightest detail.

Not only that, but the captain was fantastic at the helm, and kept us safe throughout. Pass by Klima, where the infamous Venus de Milo statue was first discovered, which currently is exhibited at the legendary Louvre Museum.

As you take photos and videos of the jaw-dropping colorful homes, while the crew tells you interesting facts and historical accounts of the area. After, you’ll have some time at Cape Vani for a guided tour of Adamas bay, where I was surprised to see a centuries-old iron and manganese mine!

Become refreshed at Kalogries Beach with a swim and snorkel, with the snorkeling gear that they provide you with. Refuel with a light brunch on board before a longer stop at Sikia where you’ll go for an exhilarating swim, then take a dinghy into a magnificent cave.

Kleftiko Beach is next, which is perfect for photo ops in and out of the water before doing a tour of Agio Dimitrios.

5. Full Day Sailing Cruise on the West Side of Milos Island

  • Departure: Kinigos Restaurant, Adamantas 848 01
  • Departure Time: 9:00 AM
  • Includes: Breakfast, lunch, coffee and/or tea, soda/pop, alcoholic beverages, snacks, use of snorkeling gear

How would you like having one of your closest friends take you on a cruise around paradise for a day of fun and adventure? If that sounds interesting to you, the Full Day Sailing Cruise on the West Side of Milos Island Tour  is just the one for you!

If it’s your first time in the area, I highly recommend going on one of these comprehensive adventures that will take you to most of the best sites in just one day.

You’ll not only get to enjoy the more “typical” activities like snorkeling and swimming, but you’ll also get to learn a ton about the history and geology of the area, which is worth it on its own!

The company is incredibly well-organized, with every member of the staff incredibly friendly and welcoming. Start off early in the morning and meet them to hop on board and enjoy a delicious, homemade breakfast while you peer out over the turquoise waters.

This cruise perfectly balanced relaxation with excitement, allowing you to enjoy the breathtaking scenery of the island, villages, and natural formations from the water.

However, you’ll also have the chance to explore up close, exploring inside caves, under the water, and on beaches.

If you’re a history buff, you’ll absolutely love how much the crew shares about the island’s past and how it’s been inhabited since the Neolithic age!

We loved getting to see Milos’ oldest villages, as well as the distinctive architecture only found here along with the fishing houses. You’ll also have plenty of time to stop at various beaches, including the world-famous Kleftiko Beach with an optional cave tour on their dinghy.

When you come back on board, a freshly-cooked lunch will be waiting for you alongside plenty of drinks!

6. Kleftiko Half-Day Speedboat Cruise With Snorkeling From Adamas

  • Duration: 5 hours
  • Departure Time: 9:30 AM
  • Includes: Boat cruise, guided snorkeling activities, snacks and refreshments, underwater GoPro10, drone photos and videos

Cruising around Milos will transport you back to ancient Greece, where you’ll feel like some kind of Greek God or Goddess amongst the pristine turquoise waters.

With the Adamas: Kleftiko Half-Day Speedboat Cruise with Snorkeling Tour , you’ll get to see natural formations that look like they were carved by the likes of Michelangelo, himself – well, perhaps even more impressive.

Thanks to the fact that you’ll be cruising around on a speedboat, your tour will be much shorter without compromising any of the incredible sights.

This is another fantastic option if you’ve never gone snorkeling before, and are nervous to go about it yourself. This tour includes 2 guided snorkeling sessions with professionals to ensure you’re safe and comfortable the entire time in the crystal clear waters.

On board, the captain and crew are there to assist you and answer any questions you may have after performing a safety briefing. From Adamas Port, you’ll leisurely sail along while learning about the history, geology, art, and culture of this magnificent place.

Check out the emerald green waters of Sykia, where you’ll get to explore inside the sea cave without a roof. It kind of reminded me of a more unforgiving cenote, making it feel like you and your group are the only ones in the world.

I absolutely loved the homemade breakfast after our first stop, which gave me energy and made me supremely free of any hunger I may have had. Kleftiko Bay complex is quite impressive too, with its 3-million-year-old volcanic rocks emerging from the sea.

Learn how this made for the perfect pirate hideout spot, where they’d actually conceal their ships! Oh, and if that weren’t enough, the crew offers drone photos and videos, as well as media from their underwater GoPros to commemorate the experience!

7. Milos Sailing Tour with Snorkeling and Lunch

  • Departure: Pollonia 848 00
  • Includes: Beverages, bottled water, afternoon tea, lunch, snacks, tour escort/host, use of snorkeling equipment, brunch, coffee and/or tea, alcoholic beverages

If you’ve ever dreamt of exploring a Mediterranean paradise off the beaten path, Milos is the perfect option. What better way to experience it than on the Milos Sailing Tour with Snorkeling and Lunch on their top-notch yachts?

Forget the crowded beaches and cookie-cutter vacations and opt for this beautiful voyage through the pristine coastline that’s equally as breathtaking as it is exciting.

Start off in the charming port of Adamas or the picturesque fishing village of Pollonia, where you’ll take a trip around the island. There are plenty of opportunities to plunge into the perfectly blue waters and discover the secrets hidden beneath the surface.

Your tour escort/host is there to point out all kinds of interesting sights, such as “The Bears”: two massive rocks that resemble the furry critters.

Cruise down Milos’ protected west coast, which is a haven for rare flora and fauna under the Natura 2000 program. Here, you may get a glimpse of Kalogries, Agathia, and Amoudaraki beaches.

However, we all know that Kleftiko – the ancient pirate hideout – is the number one destination spot for many travelers. Its labyrinth of white limestone caves and tunnels are each illuminated in their own special way thanks to the dancing sun and sea.

You’ll have tons of time to use the snorkeling equipment on board and leisurely enjoy a refreshing journey underneath the clear waters.

When you get back on board, you’ll get to enjoy a Greek feast of freshly-prepared food and drinks with one of the most beautiful backdrops in the world.

The cruise starts at 9:00 from the port of Adamas. We start our circumnavigation of the island heading northwest towards Cape Vani, an impressive 30-meter tall rock behind which the old 19th-century iron mine operated. Shortly after we will reach our first swim stop, the bay of Kalogries, a beautiful bay with crystal-clear turquoise waters. We will stay here for about 30 minutes to swim and snorkel and enjoy a snack coming up from your swim.

We continue sailing along the west side of the island till we reach Sykia, the biggest cave in Milos. A short photo stop in front of the caves’ spectacular entrance and the bay to the south of the cave, an old volcanic crater, with colorful rocks and crystal clear emerald waters.

Next destination, Kleftiko, the most famous place in Milos. The name actually means a place of thieves and derives from the fact that it was used for centuries by pirates as a hideout and lair. Our stop here will last 40 minutes and you will have the chance to swim and snorkel in caves and try our stand-up paddle. Refreshments and ice-cold beers will be waiting for you when you get back to the boat accompanied by many delicious snacks.

Leaving Kleftiko, we continue sailing along south Milos coastline, passing by the bay of Gerontas, and the famous beaches of Fyriplaka and Tsigrado, till we reach our next swim stop, the impressive bay of Gerakas, one of the best beaches in Milos, accessible only by boat. We will stop for more than 1 hour for swimming and prepare our BBQ lunch.

The trip continues along the south side of the island till we reach the east and Theiorychia, where the abandoned 1870s sulfur mines still stand creating a magnificent landscape. We take some photos and continue towards the island of Poliegos, the largest uninhabited Greek island and home to some of the most impressive waters in the Mediterranean.

Our main stop on this amazing island is the bay of Galazia nera, or blue waters, one of the best spots in Greece! Here we will enjoy our last swim for the day and some delicious desserts.

Heading back towards Adamas we will pass Glaronisia, the seagull islands, a rare geological phenomenon consisting, completely, of hexagonal-shaped lava rocks. A short photo stop here to admire the landscape and feed the seagulls.

The final part of our trip consists of sightseeing in the bay of Adamas. We will see ‘Arkoudes’, the impressive 20ft bear-shaped rocks at the entrance of the bay to the east and Klima where the statue of Venus de Milo was discovered. While you take beautiful photos you can also learn some historical facts about the island, as a part of our guided tour.

Our cruise ends with the sun in the back and beautiful sunset colors. We return to Adamas port around 18:30.

Cruise itineraries are subject to change depending on weather conditions and at the discretion of the captain. – In case of strong north winds which make it impossible to sail the north side, then we start from the south side and the bay of Palaiochori. Transfer to and from the port of Adamas is included in the price. – In case of strong south winds, we sail from Adamas towards the north side of Milos and Poliegos.

Semiprivate cruises are organized by our tourist office Polco Tours, Greek Ministry of Tourism License 1172E60001075001.

  • Chevron down What to bring

Sailing with Polco is a carefree trip. You only need to bring your personal belongings; swimsuit, towel, sunscreen, hat, and glasses to protect yourself from the strong Greek sun, your cellphone/camera.

Our yachts are fully equipped with snorkeling gear but if you have your own mask and flippers you are welcome to bring them.

Early or late in the season, a light windproof jacket might help to warm you up when the sun starts dropping.

Customer Feedback

Daphnée Glorieux

Great experience! Customer service is impeccable. We did the half day catamaran tour, and it was truly the perfect length. 6 hours of beautiful coast and great swimming spots. We had plenty of time to explore and swim. The food was by far the best food I ever had on that type of tour.

Their knowledge, experience, and their always good mood are a guarantee for the most pleasant sailing trip of Milos and Poliegos. We had a swim in the magical waters and "tropical" landscapes. With perfect food on the boat under the shade of the rocks in Kleftiko !

  • Half Day Morning Catamaran Cruise to Kleftiko

No ratings yet.

Hop on a catamaran sailing boat and explore the most magnificent spots of southwest Milos. Sail to the famous Kleftiko, Milos’ mesmerizing landmark, and visit some of the island’s most impressive bays along the way! Swim and snorkel in amazing lunar sceneries, see dramatic rock formations coming out of the sea and explore natural caves and underwater passages.  A definite must see while visiting Milos!

Experience this unique sailing trip and explore the breathtaking coastline Milos has to offer. You will depart from Adamas port and pass by the village of Skinopi, Fourkovouni, Areti and Klima, a traditional fishing village with the renowned colorful doors “syrmata”, or boat parking lots. You will continue to visit Arkoudes (Bear Rocks), a complex of lava rocks that form the shape of bears. Then, cruise along the coastline and pass by the extraordinary colorful layered rocks at the old manganese mine in Cape Vani to reach our first swimming stop at the natural bay of Kalogries, ideal for diving in transparent waters. Next, you will pass by the famous Sykia cave and admire the unique view of the area with narrow seacave passage into a huge open roof top cave. Α delicious fruit salad will be waiting for you onboard!

The next two hour swimming stop takes place once you reach the landmark of Milos, the famous Kleftiko, a unique volcanic landscape that has been a pirate hideout for centuries. Here you will dive in the crystal clear waters, go on a snorkel safari to explore the fascinating caves and underwater passages that lead to three different secluded bays. After diving, a well-deserved lunch will be served on board in the catamaran’s spacious and luxury salon. Our last swimming stop is at the inaccessible beach of Gerakas where you can enjoy hidden hot springs on one side of the beach. We set sail for Agia Kyriaki, arriving at 16:00 approximately, while admiring the beautiful coastline along the southern side of Milos. After your arrival in Agia Kyriaki you will be transferred by minivan back to Adamas Port.

This cruise is organized (group) with minimum number of participants 8.

Children (4 – 12 years old) and infants are welcome to participate with parental guidance.

Please remember to prepare a beach bag (with bathing suits, beach towels etc) as we will be making swimming stops along the way.
