What is an Inflatable Catamaran?

With a design based on geometry, just like their traditional non-inflatable counterparts, inflatable catamarans offer stability and smooth sailing due to the wide beam and double- hulled tubes on either side.

This isn't your typical full-size dive/snorkel/sightseeing catamaran you've seen in the local marina. They range in size from eight to 15 or so feet and can be propelled by sails, an outboard engine or a pair of oars.

The unique thing about inflatable catamarans is that they, well, inflate, as well as deflate for storage in a car or on a bigger boat. This also makes it easier to carry to and from the water.  

Similar in design to a pontoon boat, inflatable catamarans have actually been called pontoon boats (though they're technically not), along with fishing boats or even inflatable kayak s (which they're really not either).

While they don't have cabins or storage in the tubes like full-size (non-inflatable) cats, they can accommodate anywhere from two to eight passengers depending on size.

Hi, the wheels seem good, the quality is good, but you could have put ball bearings in there in some way that you can change at regular intervals. Now we have ice on the lake, we've had that for a while, so I haven't tried the wheels in real life if there is any such. After all, I had the honor of paying taxes that surely go towards improving the world, however you now look at what is better. Anyway, best regards.

The wheels are real easy to put down and retract. My only concern is the tyres on the wheels appear to be retreads.

I haven't had the time to use the boat yet, but have assembled and inflated the boat. Compared to the Zodiac Granride MK3, it's a lot lighter, and the inflatable deck is much easier then the zodiacs hard deck to get in place. So just from looking at the TrueKit, i think the quality is up at the zodiac level, and looking forward to try out the boat in the water!

The Bimini top fits beautifully onto my Discovery 2.8. You can tell that a lot of thought went into its construction and design, as the ropes, cleats, and clips all fit exactly as they are supposed to and create an extremely sturdy top. I’m so glad that I ordered it—it will give me shade and protection on the hottest of days. I mount a solar panel to my 1103 Torqeedo motor and the bimini supports it with no problem. I’ve also tried it in ripping winds—this top holds up great. Highly recommend for an enhanced boating experience.

The Sea Eagle FastCat has a catamaran-style hull with widely spaced side tubes that create lift to reduce center floor friction on the water.

High-Pressure, Reinforced, Drop-Stitch Construction

The Sea Eagle FastCat is made from a double-layer of PVC-reinforced 1000 Denier fabric that is drop-stitched together by joining the top and bottom of the floor and sides of the gunwales with tens of thousands of high-tensile strength threads.

The drop-stitch construction allows the boat to be inflated up to 15psi. This high pressure improves performance and provides remarkable stability, buoyancy, and a rigid floor stable enough to stand on.

The reinforced double-layer of protection allows the FastCat to bounce off rocks, logs, and other objects leaving the extremely durable boat unscathed.

Safety Air Chambers

With four separate air chambers, the FastCat12 adheres to the highest safety standards. In the unlikely event of a chamber failure, the boat will easily stay afloat to ensure your safety and that of any passenger.

Protective Rubbing Strake & Bumper Guard

This rugged inflatable boat has full-length underside rubbing strakes and side bumper guards for added protection from bumps and abrasions.

Removable Transom

The custom removable transom improves the storability and portability of the FastCat12 by making it lighter and allowing a smaller folded profile.

Install the transom and attach an electric motor up to a 6 hp outboard.

Attach Up To A 6 HP Gas Motor

The transom provides the ability to attach an electric motor or gas motor up to 6 hp. You can reach speeds up to 16 mph with the pictured Honda 5S which is part of the Honda Motor Package.

• Is a Takacat easy to set up? 

The Takacats are designed for quick and easy assembly. No mucking around with heavy and complicated floorboard systems. Inflation with the supplied manual pump takes 8-15 minutes depending on the Takacat size and your fitness level. Inflation by our speedy electric pump takes 5-8 minutes, depending on the size of the Takacat you are inflating. 1. Inflate main tubes to 3psi / 22.5kpa 2. Insert Tube Transom bars. Tip - rub down Tube Transom with soapy water as this will make sliding the transom bars in much easier. 3. Fit motor mount transom boards with supplied eye bolt 4. Insert and inflate floor to 10psi / 65kpa 5. Use webbing straps to connect bow D rings 6. Attach oars 7. Fit outboard motor 8. Check required safety equipment, bylaws and weather conditions prior to departure.

• Is a Takacat boat easy to deflate and stow? 

The innovative, fully removable transom enables the Takacat to be rolled-up smaller, easier and lighter than traditional inflatable boats that have a fixed transom. Our Saturn "Triton" upgrade option is available on many of our boats (subject to inventory) and represents the highest quality features we have ever produced. The specific Triton upgrades vary on a product by product basis but basically equates to "Cadillac" features which have been customized for each model. The Triton upgrades provide our customers/guides/outfitters with top-of-the-line upgrades which typically include Leafield inflation and pressure relief valves ($150-250 valve depending on model), German Mehler or Heytex PVC, high-frequency heat-welded seam construction, an upgraded warranty, and higher quality accessories (ie hand pumps, storage bags, rowing oars). Our new premium series "Saturn Triton" inflatable boats were created with the intent to provide the absolute highest quality construction and a technical design that rivals the highest end boats in the world. We haven't been this excited about our technology advancements in over a decade, we've taken quality/affordability to the next level.

Sea Eagle PaddleSki™ Inflatable Catamaran Boat is the most versatile watercraft in the world! A unique 4-in-1 hull you can Paddle, Motor, Sail, and Fish. It packs down to a mere fraction of its inflatable size. Storage and transportation are a dream and it features two widely spaced inflatable tubes that glide through the water while providing a solid well-balanced hull.

The PaddleSki™ can be rigged "to the nines" with the Sea Eagle Sun and Rain Canopy, Scotty Fishing Accessories, up to 6 HP gas engine that will produce up to 16 mph and roughly 20 mpg, and the Sea Eagle EZ-CART that makes rolling to and from the water with ease.

So get ready for the ride of your life! This is one of the most efficient and comfortably cushioned rides on the water.
