The concept behind this extraordinary yacht was to create a genuine leisure platform, where luxury, extreme comfort and communion with the sea are fused together in one elegant and timeless design. Statement of the flexibility of the 110’ Classic’s design, two master suites can be configured, one on the main deck and the other on the lower deck.

Whether at anchor or in navigation, large horizontal portholes provide spectacular views of the surrounding environment. Like everything onboard, the master suites are created to satisfy the owner’s wishes. Guest cabins located forward on the lower deck are designed to your preferences. Treated with the exact same attention to details as the owner’s suites.

While certainly a stunning yacht, the Canados 110’ Classic is also a true offshore going vessel. Pleasure and practicality have been seamlessly merged to ensure your pleasure and safety are effortlessly achieved. The raised pilothouse is equipped with the latest state-of-the-art navigation, communication and monitoring systems, allowing the crew total control.

A step above the 90', the Canados 110 fly is truly a vessel to behold. Gleaming in an all-white traditional exterior paint finish, she commands attention. The main deck of the exterior features a wrap-around walkway providing full access to most areas of the yacht from outside. The fore of the Canados 110 is easily accessed by the walk-around deck. The fore features sizable sun pads for the 'sun worshipper.' A small bow pulpit offers a closer look over the bow for guests. Walking around to the stern, more seating is available. This seating is complimented by a wooden rectangular table. From here, the swim platform can be reached by way of stairs on either side of the stern. From the aft of the main deck, the fly bridge can be accessed via a stairway on the starboard side, outside of the saloon sliding doors. On the fly bridge, a large sun bed is situated centrally on the aft while a dining table and chairs are forward of this area. The table can seat up to ten in an informal setting. Further forward, well appointed settee type seating is available and to the fore of the fly bridge is the outdoor navigation station. This station is located on the starboard side. On the opposite is more seating for guests. In the middle is a sliding door that gives access to the interior. As one moves down the outdoor stairs at the aft, the saloon becomes visible through the sliding glass doors. The interior is immediately striking, with the soft neon recessed lighting above and below the window lines as well as floating above the floor. The saloon is essentially minimalist in feel and design. Lofty seating and accessories accentuate the look. A broad flat screen draws one to the entertainment and social area. The galley continues in the minimalist theme. Dominated by stainless steel facades and appliances, the space reflects the lighting that is present aiding in an apparent roomy feel. A small ceiling hung flat panel is there to provide entertainment when the chef is bored. The lighting on board is to a large extent, changeable. In the master and the guest rooms, the neon type lighting is present thus creating a relaxing mood. The baths are exquisite, looking more like show pieces than functional pieces. The bathroom experience is sure to be phenomenal. Off course, all the public spaces are customizable and as a result, personalization is attainable. Wow, she's stunning! Any idea who created the interior design? It's got a really nice 'fresh' look to it.

Well Luiz De Basto worked on the interior of one or two of the Canados. Maybe might be them but I am not thoroughly sure.

Change in Canados I do not know whether there was any specific interior designer employed from outside the company for these boats, but the latest change of concept in Canados is due to the arrival of Maurizio Baldoni, the new CEO. He was managing Admiral in his previous post. The boats are no longer boring in the interior details. They have won the best interior award of Showboats with their 90 Open. I had the chance to test a 72 during the last Monaco boat show and I have been positively impressed by the quality efforts put in especially in the technical parts of the boat. All pumps and electrical installation were of professional caliber and sound insulations nicely done. Nice stainless steel and furniture finishes as well. The interior had the same nice touch as in Canados 110. She was also handling well, the only point which I was not able to verify was the strength of the hull, which could easily check by a professional surveyor.

Canados Debuts 96-foot Gladiator Flagship

Canados has a new Gladiator line flagship: the 961 Speed. This near-96-footer eclipses the other nine Gladiator models ranging from 42 to 91 feet length overall.

Its extra length is apparent when guests step atop the flybridge via aft, portside corner stairs. Here, there is no shortage of seating. To starboard is forward-facing, C-shaped seating for at least six people, with a dinette. Moving forward, two sun pads that seat at least three people each flank the centerline, with additional forward-facing companion seating attached to each sun pad. The flybridge helm station is on centerline, with three helm seats for the skipper and guests.

This design emphasis on socializing continues on the main deck, starting with the 89-by-116-inch transom sun pad. Just forward of that are a bar, grill, ice maker, fridge and sink.

For more formal occasions, there’s a circular, on-centerline dining table for eight people amidships that’s just abaft the three-seat helm station; the connecting, aft-facing seating is a sofa for the boat’s owners or guests to relax out of the crew’s way. In the salon just a couple of steps away, there’s a sofa to port and L-shaped seating for at least six to starboard.

At the bow, at least eight guests can sit comfortably in the C-shaped seating with two dinettes; aft-facing seating for six is on the other side of the dinettes, with a 93-by-110-inch sun pad forward.

Belowdecks, the 961 Speed can come with either three staterooms and a cinema or four staterooms; owners of Hull No. 1 opted for the latter. The full-beam, amidships master stateroom has its berth on centerline, and a vanity/study and a head with his-and-hers sinks to starboard. The closet and a sofa are to port. There are also two en suite, twin-berth staterooms, one to port and the other to starboard, and a forepeak VIP with a step-up berth.

The 961 Speed has a galley-down setup accessed via portside salon stairs. Crew quarters can also be accessed via those stairs.

Three power options are available: twin 2,000 or 2,600 hp MAN engines, or triple 2,000 hp MAN V-12s for what Canados calls “speed-addicted clients.” Reported top hop with the third option is 52 knots. Range is reportedly 360 nautical miles at 42 knots. The latter two options are coupled to JDM surface drives with a JDM auto-trim and auto-flaps computer.

Cruising the Moskva River: A short guide to boat trips in Russia’s capital

There’s hardly a better way to absorb Moscow’s atmosphere than on a ship sailing up and down the Moskva River. While complicated ticketing, loud music and chilling winds might dampen the anticipated fun, this checklist will help you to enjoy the scenic views and not fall into common tourist traps.

How to find the right boat?

There are plenty of boats and selecting the right one might be challenging. The size of the boat should be your main criteria.

Plenty of small boats cruise the Moskva River, and the most vivid one is this yellow Lay’s-branded boat. Everyone who has ever visited Moscow probably has seen it.

This option might leave a passenger disembarking partially deaf as the merciless Russian pop music blasts onboard. A free spirit, however, will find partying on such a vessel to be an unforgettable and authentic experience that’s almost a metaphor for life in modern Russia: too loud, and sometimes too welcoming. Tickets start at $13 (800 rubles) per person.

Bigger boats offer smoother sailing and tend to attract foreign visitors because of their distinct Soviet aura. Indeed, many of the older vessels must have seen better days. They are still afloat, however, and getting aboard is a unique ‘cultural’ experience. Sometimes the crew might offer lunch or dinner to passengers, but this option must be purchased with the ticket. Here is one such  option  offering dinner for $24 (1,490 rubles).

If you want to travel in style, consider Flotilla Radisson. These large, modern vessels are quite posh, with a cozy restaurant and an attentive crew at your service. Even though the selection of wines and food is modest, these vessels are still much better than other boats.

Surprisingly, the luxurious boats are priced rather modestly, and a single ticket goes for $17-$32 (1,100-2,000 rubles); also expect a reasonable restaurant bill on top.

How to buy tickets?

Women holding photos of ships promise huge discounts to “the young and beautiful,” and give personal invitations for river tours. They sound and look nice, but there’s a small catch: their ticket prices are usually more than those purchased online.

“We bought tickets from street hawkers for 900 rubles each, only to later discover that the other passengers bought their tickets twice as cheap!”  wrote  (in Russian) a disappointed Rostislav on a travel company website.

Nevertheless, buying from street hawkers has one considerable advantage: they personally escort you to the vessel so that you don’t waste time looking for the boat on your own.

Prices start at $13 (800 rubles) for one ride, and for an additional $6.5 (400 rubles) you can purchase an unlimited number of tours on the same boat on any given day.

Flotilla Radisson has official ticket offices at Gorky Park and Hotel Ukraine, but they’re often sold out.

Buying online is an option that might save some cash. Websites such as  this   offer considerable discounts for tickets sold online. On a busy Friday night an online purchase might be the only chance to get a ticket on a Flotilla Radisson boat.

This  website  (in Russian) offers multiple options for short river cruises in and around the city center, including offbeat options such as ‘disco cruises’ and ‘children cruises.’ This other  website  sells tickets online, but doesn’t have an English version. The interface is intuitive, however.

Buying tickets online has its bad points, however. The most common is confusing which pier you should go to and missing your river tour.

“I once bought tickets online to save with the discount that the website offered,” said Igor Shvarkin from Moscow. “The pier was initially marked as ‘Park Kultury,’ but when I arrived it wasn’t easy to find my boat because there were too many there. My guests had to walk a considerable distance before I finally found the vessel that accepted my tickets purchased online,” said the man.

There are two main boarding piers in the city center:  Hotel Ukraine  and  Park Kultury . Always take note of your particular berth when buying tickets online.

Where to sit onboard?

Even on a warm day, the headwind might be chilly for passengers on deck. Make sure you have warm clothes, or that the crew has blankets ready upon request.

The glass-encased hold makes the tour much more comfortable, but not at the expense of having an enjoyable experience.

Getting off the boat requires preparation as well. Ideally, you should be able to disembark on any pier along the way. In reality, passengers never know where the boat’s captain will make the next stop. Street hawkers often tell passengers in advance where they’ll be able to disembark. If you buy tickets online then you’ll have to research it yourself.

There’s a chance that the captain won’t make any stops at all and will take you back to where the tour began, which is the case with Flotilla Radisson. The safest option is to automatically expect that you’ll return to the pier where you started.
