Exhilarating performance and pitch-perfect handling is fused with Wally’s taught aesthetic to offer guests a truly sublime experience on the water. Iconic lines marked out the original wallypower118, and the same purity of design has been passed on to the wallypower58. The large glass-and-carbon dome is instantly recognisable, and there’s Wally’s usual uncompromising focus on deck space for indoor-outdoor living. Wrap-around glazing complements the angular sweep of the windscreen and envelops a large cockpit. This offers the room for an elegant polygonal dining table and a deep sofa. Cabinets on both sides can be filled with the owner’s choice of fridges, cooktops and storage to create a flexible galley. A large sunpad dominates the aft deck, with its signature fold-down wings. In a unique twist, Wally has developed a striking electrical awning that swings up out of the deck like the roof of a soft-top car. A convertible passerelle-bathing ladder is hidden in the stern, and the aft platform lowers into the water at the touch of a button to launch / retrieve the tender and water toys. Wally has put the volume to great use below, with a true double bed in the bow and a large shower room. Options then range from a comfortable double saloon to a guest cabin or a single crew berth, all with a guest shower and day head. Natural light streams in from overhead and Wally’s innovative virtual windows, so-called Magic portholes, relay camera images from outside. In this way, the hull lines remain pure and there is less risk when going alongside. Top speed reaches a heady 38 knots with the optional upgrade to Volvo Penta IPS800 drives. But even at 32 knot cruising speed, the yacht has a 320 nautical mile range.

If you are looking for fine living on the water, you simply can’t go wrong with the 55 wallypower luxury motor yacht. This new model completes the wallypower range and is an worthy addition to the 47 wallypower and the 64 wallypower.

The motor yacht design boasts an aggressive, super sporty look complete with a huge windscreen in keeping with the full open design concept of the range. The windscreen is the ideal replacement for the traditional hard top and surrounds the cockpit area. The cockpit has been designed with the same kind of plush interior as the rest of the luxury motor yacht and has two symmetrical seating and relaxing areas that epitomize comfort. The seating areas are strategically placed one on each side so that they are sheltered by the windscreen.

The cockpit can be customized by covering it with a hardtop or a bimini to offer protection from the sun in the open areas. The luxury motor yacht also features a 108 square feet sprawling aft “beach” which gives you the feeling of being on your own terrace on the sea and this area makes a wonderful place to sip champagne while getting that perfect sun kissed look.

The propulsion system is as innovative and amazing as the design of this yacht, powered by four Volvo DG engines each offering a thrust of 435 Hp. This coupled with the IPS 600 offers mind blowing maneuverability. Of course, the advanced propulsion system also guarantees a 20% increase in the range and a 30% increase in performance. Consequently, no vibrations are felt even when you are running the yacht at 40 knots, close to the maximum speed of 42 knots. This craft has been designed for exceptional stability, high performance and reduced noise.

Another difference from other models in the wallypower series is the innovative aft passerelle which can be retracted hydraulically. Like the 118 wallypower, this 6’11 x 5’3 surface can be used as a swimming ladder or boarding platform depending on the position. The passerelle can also be used to handle and lift a jet ski on board which makes it an ideal powerboat for an afternoon spent frolicking on the water. The 55 WallyPower is the powerboat of choice for people who are water sport enthusiasts and would like a vehicle that meets all their requirements.

The interior layout is also stunning with two to three cabins that can be customized into a single suite, a galley, a salon and a crew cabin also en suite. When the 55 wallypower debuted in Monaco, one look at its spectacular features and its head-turning design proved that this luxury motor yacht was certainly not a run of the mill power boat.

Looking strikingly similar to a toy that a movie moguls or billionaire would own, the all open concept gives the 55 wallypower a futuristic look. Monaco based Wally Yachts offers this model with custom interiors designed to suit the specifications of buyers including a range of hues to choose from. As far as the interiors go, Wally Yachts has stuck to its trademark stealthy look. The yacht has a six place dining table on its port side which offers a stunning view of the sky and the tranquil waters as you dine while the wheel and the navigation system are on the left.

Wally 55 Power Boat Boasts Four Motors, Four Drives And A Whole Lot Of Style

We don’t know if James Bond likes to take a yacht out during his days off.  If he does, though, we wouldn’t be surprised if it’s anything like the Wally 55, a luxury yacht styled like a giant speedboat.

Billed as “the ultimate open sports cruiser,” the yacht/powerboat hybrid brings highly aggressive, hard-edged lines that makes those expensive yachts you see in the marina look like boats for stuffy, boring people.  Seriously, this thing ‘s hull looks like it’s built for battle — so much so that throwing a few missile launchers and machine guns on there aren’t likely to appear so out of place.

The Wally 55’s styling, of course, should be no surprise to fans of Wally Yachts, whose sailboats and powerboats have consistently veered toward the extreme edge of modern-day aesthetics and performance.  It takes on the same open top design with a huge windscreen as many of their powerboats, allowing you to enjoy the open skies while running in high speeds without the wind wreaking havoc on, pretty much, everyone on board.  What’s more exciting, though, is the power this thing packs, with four 435-hp Volvo Penta D6 diesel engines paired with four Volvo IPS 600 drives.   The result is incredible flexibility in how the thing can be operated, on top of a whopping max speed of 40 knots.

It’s sized to accommodate up to 6 people (5 guests, 1 crew) in complete luxury, although we guess you can throw in a few more, so long as they don’t mind less comfortable sleeping arrangements.  Right behind the captain’s station on the deck, you get a pair of long couches along with a dining table and other optional amenities.   Below the deck, buyers can opt for either two cabins (one full-width master cabin and one VIP cabin) or three cabins.   Each one comes standard with rapid fender connections, swim ladder, wrap around fender, entertainment systems, communication systems, a retractable anchor system, an 11KW generator, electric windlass, and joystick control.

Launched today at the Cannes Yachting Festival , the newcomer has the same clean lines and deep-V hull of its larger predecessors but can be fitted with the wraparound fender of the smaller tenders “for those seeking more practical applications.”

Practicality is also central to the yacht’s layout. The aft deck is equipped with two separate sunbeds instead of a giant central sun pad to further maximize the amount of space. The deck is also fitted with wings that can open out to create an additional 65 square feet of room.

That’s not the only spot for lounging, either. The upper cockpit sports plush seating for eight, plus a couple of forward-facing bench seats that can accommodate four more seafarers. Below, the generous open-plan living quarters include a double bed, a large couch, and a bathroom with a separate shower. As Wally puts it, it’s the “ultimate weekender pied-a-terre.”

The yard also says that a Wally isn’t a Wally if it doesn’t perform on the water. To that end, the wallypower50 is equipped with twin Volvo Penta IPS650s that give it a top speed of 36 knots and a range of 240 nautical. The more potent “X” variant packs quad 400 hp Mercury outboards that allow the yacht to hit an exhilarating 48 knots at full tilt and maintain the same range. Thrillseekers can also opt for a “Racing” configuration with 500 hp Mercurys that can push the vessel to speeds in excess of 50 knots, though its range does drop down to 180 nautical miles.

Perhaps the newcomer has filled a speed gap, too.

Cruising the Moskva River: A short guide to boat trips in Russia’s capital

There’s hardly a better way to absorb Moscow’s atmosphere than on a ship sailing up and down the Moskva River. While complicated ticketing, loud music and chilling winds might dampen the anticipated fun, this checklist will help you to enjoy the scenic views and not fall into common tourist traps.

How to find the right boat?

There are plenty of boats and selecting the right one might be challenging. The size of the boat should be your main criteria.

Plenty of small boats cruise the Moskva River, and the most vivid one is this yellow Lay’s-branded boat. Everyone who has ever visited Moscow probably has seen it.

This option might leave a passenger disembarking partially deaf as the merciless Russian pop music blasts onboard. A free spirit, however, will find partying on such a vessel to be an unforgettable and authentic experience that’s almost a metaphor for life in modern Russia: too loud, and sometimes too welcoming. Tickets start at $13 (800 rubles) per person.

Bigger boats offer smoother sailing and tend to attract foreign visitors because of their distinct Soviet aura. Indeed, many of the older vessels must have seen better days. They are still afloat, however, and getting aboard is a unique ‘cultural’ experience. Sometimes the crew might offer lunch or dinner to passengers, but this option must be purchased with the ticket. Here is one such  option  offering dinner for $24 (1,490 rubles).

If you want to travel in style, consider Flotilla Radisson. These large, modern vessels are quite posh, with a cozy restaurant and an attentive crew at your service. Even though the selection of wines and food is modest, these vessels are still much better than other boats.

Surprisingly, the luxurious boats are priced rather modestly, and a single ticket goes for $17-$32 (1,100-2,000 rubles); also expect a reasonable restaurant bill on top.

How to buy tickets?

Women holding photos of ships promise huge discounts to “the young and beautiful,” and give personal invitations for river tours. They sound and look nice, but there’s a small catch: their ticket prices are usually more than those purchased online.

“We bought tickets from street hawkers for 900 rubles each, only to later discover that the other passengers bought their tickets twice as cheap!”  wrote  (in Russian) a disappointed Rostislav on a travel company website.

Nevertheless, buying from street hawkers has one considerable advantage: they personally escort you to the vessel so that you don’t waste time looking for the boat on your own.

Prices start at $13 (800 rubles) for one ride, and for an additional $6.5 (400 rubles) you can purchase an unlimited number of tours on the same boat on any given day.

Flotilla Radisson has official ticket offices at Gorky Park and Hotel Ukraine, but they’re often sold out.

Buying online is an option that might save some cash. Websites such as  this   offer considerable discounts for tickets sold online. On a busy Friday night an online purchase might be the only chance to get a ticket on a Flotilla Radisson boat.

This  website  (in Russian) offers multiple options for short river cruises in and around the city center, including offbeat options such as ‘disco cruises’ and ‘children cruises.’ This other  website  sells tickets online, but doesn’t have an English version. The interface is intuitive, however.

Buying tickets online has its bad points, however. The most common is confusing which pier you should go to and missing your river tour.

“I once bought tickets online to save with the discount that the website offered,” said Igor Shvarkin from Moscow. “The pier was initially marked as ‘Park Kultury,’ but when I arrived it wasn’t easy to find my boat because there were too many there. My guests had to walk a considerable distance before I finally found the vessel that accepted my tickets purchased online,” said the man.

There are two main boarding piers in the city center:  Hotel Ukraine  and  Park Kultury . Always take note of your particular berth when buying tickets online.

Where to sit onboard?

Even on a warm day, the headwind might be chilly for passengers on deck. Make sure you have warm clothes, or that the crew has blankets ready upon request.

The glass-encased hold makes the tour much more comfortable, but not at the expense of having an enjoyable experience.

Getting off the boat requires preparation as well. Ideally, you should be able to disembark on any pier along the way. In reality, passengers never know where the boat’s captain will make the next stop. Street hawkers often tell passengers in advance where they’ll be able to disembark. If you buy tickets online then you’ll have to research it yourself.

There’s a chance that the captain won’t make any stops at all and will take you back to where the tour began, which is the case with Flotilla Radisson. The safest option is to automatically expect that you’ll return to the pier where you started.
