Een knusse, intieme Linssen Grand Sturdy 30.9 Sedan “Porteau”, waarmee u de binnenwateren, rivieren, kanalen en meren van Nederland kan verkennen. Tijdens rustig weer kunt u ook met deze kleine kanjer langs de beschutte kust varen. “Porteau” heeft een voorkajuit met slaapruimte voor twee personen, diverse kasten, een toiletruimte en een aparte doucheruimte. Het is mogelijk om 2 extra slaapplaatsen te creëren in de salon. Het karakteristieke voor deze Sedan is de open kuip met de mogelijkheid deze af te sluiten met en biminitop. Ter hoogte van de stuurstand kan het schuifdak handmatig geopend worden, waardoor tijdens het varen het "buitengevoel" naar binnen verplaatst wordt. Vanaf de open kuip kunt u makkelijk via het zwemplateau in het water gaan. Tevens is er een buiten douche met warm water, zodat u na het zwemmen kunt af spoelen. The island world of Zeeland, on the western coast of the Netherlands , with several calmed inlets, offers plenty of opportunities to spend a quieter sail on the edge of the North Sea . The region is a popular water sports destination, gathers cozy häfen within a short distance as well as charming coastal towns. From Zeeland you can also sail on the Staande Mastroute with a higher yacht parallel to the coast in inland waters via Rotterdam to Amsterdam and the IJsselmeer . If you do go to the North Sea, you can sail along the coast of Belgium to the seaside towns or further üvia the Ärmelkanal to the south coast of England to the beautiful Isle of Wight and to Southampton . Our bases Yerseke on the Oosterschelde and Kortgene in the tide-free Veerse Meer are centrally located in Zeeland, so you have plenty of options from here, even on a short weekend trip.

Zeeland is the westernmost province on the mainland coast of the Netherlands . It lies mostly below sea level and has lost and regained land to the sea over many centuries. After a storm surge in the 1950s, protective systems were finally built to the approaches to the North Sea , which are now intended to protect the islands and bays in the delta from flooding. This has also led to a general calming of the waters between the islands and has developed the province of Zeeland into a recreational and water sports area. Knowledge of tidal navigation remains necessary for sailing in the delta. But even those who want to practice just this, have the possibility to approach via tide-free waters like the Grevelingen and Veerse Meer. The infrastructure is very good with many moorings on the islands and in the harbors.

From north to south you have the possibility to sail in different sea arms: Haringvliet, Hollands Diep, Grevelingenmeer, Oosterschelde, Veerse Meer and Westerschelde separate the islands and form deep bays along the coast. Except for the Westerschelde, the other inlets are equipped with dikes or protective weirs.

Sailing in the islands of Zeeland

The Veerse Meer winds narrowly between the North Sea and the Oosterschelde, separating the island of Noord-Beveland from its southern part. It has been separated from the North Sea, so you can only sail in from the Oosterschelde. There are no tides here either. The Veerse Meer is very popular with water sports enthusiasts, so it can get crowded here in the high season. This is also where one of our launching ports, Kortgene , is located.

The Haringvliet is the northernmost estuary near the city of Rotterdam, which you can also reach by canal from here. From here you can also sail out to the North Sea. In the Haringsvliet watch out for buoyage, there are shoals here.

Willemstad on Hollands Diep is also worth a visit. Protected by dikes, the small town lies on a star-shaped island. The shape reveals that it was once a fortress, which is still preserved and can be visited. The marina with over 200 berths is sheltered from the wind behind the dikes in front of the town. The Hollands Diep also leads to de Biesbosch National Park. The visitor center provides information about its special flora and fauna and about its history, for example as a hiding place for resistance fighters during World War II. Rotterdam can also be reached via canals heading north. The Hollands Diep is more frequented by commercial shipping than the Haringvliet.

Via locks you can reach the freshwater Volkerak to the west, which connects the Haringvliet with the Grevelingenmeer. Here there are no tides, but peace and quiet through the green, flat landscape with water resting places.

The Grevelingenmeer is today the largest saltwater inland lake in Western Europe. Two dams separate the sea from the North Sea, but the salinity is the same, because the water exchange has been maintained by a sieve. Because of this, harbor porpoises and seals still come to the bay. In the Grevelingenmeer, besides oyster fishing, water sports are important. Due to the locks, the water is now tide-free and there is little rush hour traffic.

The westernmost arm of the sea near the border with Belgium is the Westerschelde . It is not separated from the North Sea by dikes or weirs, so tides and currents are most pronounced here. Professional shipping is also concentrated here, because the Belgian city of Antwerp, with the second largest port in Europe, is located at the mouth of the Scheldt. For experienced sailors, it is worth visiting the city with its many preserved historical sites and numerous museums, including local old masters such as Rubens and van Dyck, who lived and worked here. The capital of the province of Zeeland, Middelburg, is also located on the Westerschelde on the island of Walcheren. The city has a marina connected to the sea by a canal. It is also surrounded by a water ring, which served for defense and transportation. Middelburg was once one of the trading cities of the Dutch East India Company, even the most important after Amsterdam. Even today, walking through the city, you can see the richness of the past. Winding alleys meander through the town, lined with chic canal houses. Also worth seeing are the 17th-century city gate and Kloveniersdoelen, as well as the 15th-century Stadhuis on the market square. The patrician houses around the market square are also authentic. With attention to detail in the architecture, there is much to discover in the buildings. An attraction in front of the town house is also the table with a miniature of the town and two chairs. Sit on one of the chairs and ask your fellow travelers what is happening. The Lange Jan, a tower of the 12th century abbey, is the third largest tower in the Netherlands. From here, after 200 steps, you can enjoy the view over the city. Directly on the coast to the Westerschelde is the town of Vlissingen. In the harbor you surround historic cottages with restaurants and cafes. Unlike Middelburg, the backdrop of the city is mainly the bed castles lined up along the coast. However, here you will find a long sandy beach where you can spend a sunny day and listen to the wind organ, of which there are only three in Europe, in its constant concert.

Zeeland ist die westlichste Provinz an der Festlandküste der Niederlande . Sie liegt größten Teils unter Normalnull und hat über viele Jahrhunderte hinweg immer wieder Land an das Meer verloren und wieder zurückgewonnen. Nach einer Sturmflut in den 1950er-Jahren wurden schließlich Schutzsysteme zu den Zugängen zur Nordsee gebaut, die die Inseln und Buchten im Delta nun vor Überflutung bewahren sollen. Das hat auch zu einer generellen Beruhigung des Wassers zwischen den Inseln geführt und hat die Provinz Zeeland zu einem Erholungs- und Wassersportrevier entwickelt. Nötig bleibt die Kenntnis der Gezeitennavigation auch für das Segeln im Delta. Aber auch wer gerade dies üben will, hat die Möglichkeit, sich über gezeitenfreie Gewässer wie das Grevelingen- und Veerse Meer heranzutasten. Die Infrastruktur ist sehr gut mit vielen Liegeplätzen auf den Inseln und in den Häfen.

Von Norden nach Süden haben Sie die Möglichkeit in verschiedenen Meeresarmen zu fahren: Haringvliet, Hollands Diep, Grevelingenmeer, Oosterschelde, Veerse Meer und Westerschelde trennen die Inseln voneinander und formen an der Küste tiefe Buchten. Außer der Westerschelde sind die anderen Meeresarme mit Deichen oder Schutzwehren ausgestattet.

Schmal windet sich das Veerse Meer zwischen Nordsee und der Oosterschelde und trennt die Insel Noord-Beveland von seinem südlichen Teil. Es wurde von der Nordsee getrennt, sodass Sie nur von der Oosterschelde aus hineinfahren können. Hier herrschen auch keine Gezeiten mehr. Das Veerse Meer ist bei Wassersportlern sehr beliebt, daher kann es hier in der Hauptsaison voller werden. Hier liegt mit Kortgene auch einer unserer Starthäfen.

Der Haringvliet ist der nördlichste Meeresarm nahe der Stadt Rotterdam, die Sie von hier aus auch über Kanäle anfahren können. Von hier aus können Sie auch raus auf die Nordsee fahren. Im Haringsvliet auf die Betonnung achten, hier gibt es Untiefen.  

Auch Willemstad am Hollands Diep ist einen Besuch wert. Geschützt von Deichen liegt die kleine Stadt auf einer sternförmigen Insel. Die Form verrät, dass es einst eine Festung war, die noch erhalten ist und besichtigt werden kann. Die Marina mit über 200 Liegeplätzen liegt windgeschützt hinter den Deichen vor der Stadt. Der Hollands Diep führt auch zum Nationalpark de Biesbosch. Das Besucherzentrum informiert über seine besondere Tier- und Pflanzenwelt und rund um seine Geschichte, etwa als Versteck für Widerstandkämpfer im Zweiten Weltkrieg. Über Kanäle Richtung Norden kann man auch Rotterdam erreichen. Der Hollands Diep ist durch Berufsschifffahrt höher frequentiert als das Haringvliet.

Über Schleusen gelangen Sie Richtung Westen in den süßwasserhaltigen Volkerak , der das Haringvliet mit dem Grevelingenmeer verbindet. Hier gibt es keine Gezeiten, sondern Ruhe und Entschleunigung durch die grüne, flache Landschaft mit Wasserrastplätzen.   

Das Grevelingenmeer ist heute der größte Salzwasserbinnensee Westeuropas. Zwei Dämme trennen das Meer zwar von der Nordsee, aber der Salzgehalt ist der gleiche, da der Wasseraustausch durch einen Siel erhalten wurde. Hierdurch kommen auch Schweinswale und Seehunde noch immer in die Bucht. Im Grevelingenmeer ist neben der Austernfischerei der Wassersport von Bedeutung. Durch die Schleusen ist das Gewässer nunmehr gezeitenfrei und wenig Berufsverkehr vorhanden.   

Der westlichste Meeresarm nahe der Grenze zu Belgien ist die Westerschelde. Sie ist nicht durch Deiche oder Schutzwehre von der Nordsee getrennt, weswegen die Gezeiten und Strömungen hier am ausgeprägtesten sind. Hier konzentriert sich auch die Berufsschifffahrt, denn an der Mündung der Schelde liegt die belgische Stadt Antwerpen mit dem zweitgrößten Hafen in Europa. Für erfahrene Segler lohnt ein Besuch der Stadt mit ihren vielen erhaltenen historischen Sehenswürdigkeiten und zahlreichen Museen, darunter mit lokalen alten Meistern wie Rubens und van Dyck, die hier gelebt und gewirkt haben. An der Westerschelde auf der Insel Walcheren liegt auch die Hauptstadt der Provinz Zeeland, Middelburg. Die Stadt besitzt einen Yachthafen, der über einen Kanal mit dem Meer verbunden ist. Sie ist auch umgeben von einem Wasserring, der zur Verteidigung und zum Transport diente. Middelburg war einst eine der Handelsstädte der niederländischen Ost-Indien-Kompagnie, sogar die bedeutendste nach Amsterdam. Auch heute noch kann man bei einem Spaziergang durch die Stadt den Reichtum der Vergangenheit erkennen. Verwinkelte Gassen schlängeln sich durch den Ort, gesäumt von schicken Grachtenhäusern. Sehenswert sind auch das Stadttor und das Kloveniersdoelen aus dem 17. Jahrhundert, sowie das Stadhuis aus dem 15. Jahrhundert auf dem Marktplatz. Authentisch sind auch die Patrizierhäuser um den Marktplatz herum. Mit Liebe zum Detail in der Architektur gibt es an den Bauwerken viel zu entdecken. Eine Attraktion vor dem Stadthaus ist auch der Tisch mit einer Miniatur der Stadt und zwei Stühlen. Setzen Sie sich auf einen der Stühle und fragen Sie ihre Mitreisenden, was passiert. Der Lange Jan, ein Turm der Abtei aus dem 12. Jahrhundert, ist der drittgrößte Turm der Niederlande. Von hier aus können Sie nach 200 Stufen den Ausblick über die Stadt genießen. Direkt an der Küste zur Westerschelde liegt die Stadt Vlissingen. Im Hafen umgeben Sie historische Häuschen mit Restaurants und Cafés. Ungleich Middelburg bilden die Kulisse der Stadt doch hauptsächlich die sich entlang der Küste aneinanderreihenden Bettenburgen. Jedoch finden Sie hier einen langen Sandstrand, an dem Sie einen Sonnentag einlegen und der Windorgel, von denen es in Europa nur drei gibt, bei ihrem ständigen Konzert lauschen können.

Interieur The Dehler 38 SQ “BreakFree” has more natural light below deck the hull windows have been enlarged and two additional hatches have been placed in the deck. New worktop colours and a more modern seating area complete the feeling of more space in the salon. The shower cubicle has also been upgraded with a bright, high-gloss design that is easy to clean and maintain.

Whether it’s a luxurious bed with comfortable mattresses, a card table or a second guest cabin, the interior of the Dehler 38 SQ is more flexible than ever before. The Dehler 38 SQ “BreakFree” has been chosen for the variant without a card table but with a second guest cabin. What unites all the cabins and the saloon is the much lighter atmosphere than the previous Dehler 38.

Dek The fold-out footrests at the rudder provide a comfortable and safe support when sailing to the wind. The new bathing platform is lighter and easier to operate with an integrated bathing ladder equipped with a fold-out handrail and large steps for comfortable bathing pleasure. In addition, the Dehler 38 SQ has been further upgraded with sporty design steering wheels, bow thruster, autopilot and electric toilet.

Rigging The bowsprit has an integrated anchor arm and non-slip surface, making it safer to get on and off the boat when moored with the bow forward, and offers advanced fittings for gennaker or Code 0 sailing. The backstay can be easily trimmed using a winch using the flip-flop blocks. The recessed traveler that runs over the entire width of the cockpit ensures 100% control over the mainsail.
