Stock #244332 71ft x 24ft x 6ft Custom Built House boat powered by twin, 8V71 Detroit Diesel main engines! ********************** CERTIFIED SINGLE OWNER ********************** This 2005 Custom Built 71ft x 24ft x 6ft Houseboat is one of a kind. The seller custom-built it from the 1/4" steel hull to the beautiful interior finish work that features natural cypress. It is powered by two Detroit Diesel 8V71 engines, a 2:1 gear, driving 2" Stainless Steel shafts equipped with 30" 4-blade bronze props. The electric plant consists of a 20 KW Delco generator driven by a Detriot Diesel 8V71 engine, a 23 KW generator driven by an Isuzu 4LE1 engine, as well as shore power. It features three levels with spiral staircases to traverse the levels. The lower level includes 4 private berths, a full head with a shower, and a large galley and dining table. Move up the spiral staircase to the mid-level. It features three bunks, two large sofa's, and a TV with DRV. Go through the glass sliding doors to the utility room to access the full-size stackable washer & dryer, a 500 lb/day icemaker, and a full bathroom with a shower. Walk through the sliding glass door to the outside deck. Moving up the second spiral staircase brings you to the pilothouse. It features a bunk, two stainless steel chart tables, as well as all the navigation equipment to safely pilot the boat. Controls include a Kobelt Full Follow-up tiller, a Kobelt Electronic Throttle Control (with station select, Station Lock, Throttle Override, and Synchronizer). Gages for the Port and Starboard engines, switches, and spud controls are all mounted on stainless steel panels. This houseboat is wired and has light fixtures for both 120 VAC and 12 VDC. This houseboat has a USCG Certified Type II Marine Sanitation Device (sewerage treatment plant). It also has an Ademco Electronic Security System. Reason for selling is no longer using.

Great boat starts and runs really well. Exceptionally well taken care of! Garage kept. I have the engine professionally serviced twice a year. Im selling because I need something bigger. If you want I can send you a video of the engine running. This boat was used lightly about once a week during the summer. It has a Semi-V hull. Ive had it for almost 4 years and have had no problems with it. When I got it I totally refurbished the interior. First look: Spirit 30 – Spirit’s smallest ever yacht

The all-new Spirit 30 is the smallest yacht ever produced by the well regarded British yard which specialises in modern classic wooden yachts. Rupert Holmes reports

The sleek classic style of all Spirit Yachts is guaranteed to turn heads and the Ispwich-based yard’s smallest new model for many years, the spirit 30 is no exception.

The Spirit 30 follows the well-proven format of a light displacement, modern hull shape below the water allied to a performance rig and sails. It’s a combination that delivers speeds which belie the boat’s modest dimensions.

During the commissioning sail, for example, the Spirit 30 recorded 6.8 knots of boat speed close-hauled and 10 knots off the wind in 18-20 knots of breeze.

Yet this is civilised vessel with a self-tacking furling jib and all sail controls led aft for easy single and short-handed sailing. The first example is an open day sailer with a large cockpit, although there are also plans for a version with a cuddy and basic overnight accommodation.

Auxiliary power is from a Torqeedo Cruise 4.0FP electric pod drive. This offers a 16-mile range at five knots with the standard battery and a maximum speed under power of 6.5 knots.

The wood epoxy composite construction is one of the most sustainable options for building a new boat, requiring far less noxious resins and plastics than conventional fibreglass structures.

Typically three layers of timber are epoxy glued together, creating an extremely stiff, yet very light, monocoque structure. A protective outer layer of glass cloth and epoxy is then applied, which enhances waterproofing and provides impact resistance.

Spirit Yachts has gone a stage further than usual with this boat, using flax fibres and bio resins for the outer layer. The result is what the company says is its most sustainable yacht to date and plans to roll out the same materials to the larger boats in the range.

The Spirit 30 is offered with a choice of fixed or lifting keels and the boat is light enough to be towed on a road trailer. The first example is scheduled to be exhibited at the Dusseldorf boat show in January 2022.

30-day dry time proposed for Yellowstone-bound boats

To reduce the possibility of invasive mussels reaching Yellowstone Lake, the National Park Service is considering a requirement that a boat be inspected and sealed to its trailer for 30 days ahead of its intended launch date.

The requirement, if adopted, would apply to all inboard/outboard and inboard jet motorboats and sailboats. The Park Service referred to such craft as complex motorized boats. An exception would apply to boats powered only by an outboard motor.

“Large, complex, trailered watercraft pose the highest risk of transporting and introducing invasive mussels, and other AIS, because they are difficult to inspect and less likely to completely drain/dry or be fully decontaminated,” the Park Service wrote. “Manual decontamination with the use of hot water is not always 100% effective in removing all mussels. Given this, a 30-day dry time is needed to mitigate the risk associated with these watercraft.”

In addition, the Park Service is proposing to “deny launch to any watercraft (motorized or non-motorized) that has previously been fouled by mussels, regardless of dry time.”

In seeking public comment through April 5 on the proposal, the Park Service cited the “increased risk of invasion” by zebra and quagga mussels, collectively referred to as dreissenid mussels, “following recent detections of these highly invasive species in waterways” close to the park.

The mussels “have caused irreversible ecological damage and extensive impacts to infrastructure and recreation in waterways throughout the Midwestern and Eastern United States, as well as in the lower Colorado River Basin,” the Park Service noted.

New infestations were detected in South Dakota’s Pactola Reservoir in 2022 and the Snake River near Twin Falls, Idaho, in 2023. The Idaho detection was the first time the mussels had made it into the Columbia River Basin.

In addition, during inspections last year and in 2022, Yellowstone officials “intercepted and denied launch to mussel-fouled watercraft, highlighting the urgency and severity of the threat.”

“Given Yellowstone National Park is located at the headwaters of the Yellowstone, Snake, and Missouri river drainages, pro-active measures are required to ensure the long-term ecological integrity not just of Park waters, but also of downstream mussel-free waters in Wyoming, Montana and Idaho,” the Park Service wrote. “Failure to prevent invasion by dreissenid mussels could result in widespread negative impacts to natural resources and recreational values, and could undo over two decades of work to restore populations of native Yellowstone cutthroat trout (Oncorhynchus virginalis bouvieri) within the Park. Because there are no effective eradication methods, and control/containment is both costly and environmentally consequential, prevention of an introduction is critical.”

Seals from Yellowstone National Park, Idaho State Department of Agriculture; Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks; and Wyoming Game & Fish Department will be honored pending verification of the 30-day dry time during an already-mandatory Yellowstone AIS inspection prior to launch. Boaters will also be asked to present the inspection receipt from the date the seal was applied.

The preferred method for submitting comments is online at https://parkplanning.nps.gov/yellboats. Comments may also be mailed to: Yellowstone Center for Resources Attn: AIS Proposed Changes, PO Box 168, Yellowstone National Park, WY 82190. The deadline to submit comments is Friday, April 5.

At the conclusion of the 30-day public comment period, the NPS will analyze and consider all comments received. A final decision is expected this spring.
