Customer ratings and reviews.

Very courteous. Well kept.

They are Supportive of Dragon boat Team.

I like it bunches. Fuel was a little much but that should be exspected when you don't buy it off of the water. Looking for the next trip

Excellent food and very good service. Comfortable seating around a nice outdoor fireplace, near the pool.

I love this place. Boats are stored in a hurricane level facility. The people are amazing. The rent is reasonable. There is a pool/ clubhouse you can join, too if you choose. The only downsides are one of the security guards will hassle you every time he is on duty (which is not often). Overall a great experience. Also, public can launch for $5 with nice parking.

Morningstar sure knows about true southern hospitality.... They would like for you to believe that, but they would soon go home on a Saturday afternoon than take care of their customers. They tell you that you are responsible for your own safety and they cannot help you if you become stranded on the water, but make sure you feel guilty for your "inconsideration" when you arrive late after a leisurely day on the river.

Gorgeous, idyllic setting on an old indigo plantation. Dinner/sunset combination can't be beat in the entire area. Non-Ethanol fuel and friendly staff make this my go to place in Pawleys Island.

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) — The Georgetown County Sheriff's Office has identified the boater whose body was recovered from the Waccamaw River on Thursday.

Around 9:50 a.m. Thursday, an empty boat was found idling on the Waccamaw River near the marina's canal at the Reserve Harbor Yacht Club in Georgetown County, prompting an emergency search operation for the missing boaer.

About two-and-a-half hours later, crews recovered the body of 72-year-old Fred Walters, of Pawleys Island, along the bank of the river.

HAPPENING TODAY: Search underway for reported missing 20-year-old swimmer in Myrtle Beach

Midway Fire Rescue, the South Carolina Dept. of Natural Resources, the Horry County Fire-Rescue Dive Team and U.S. Coast Guard units used sonar to locate the body.

An autopsy is scheduled at MUSC to determine Walters' cause of death.

Big smiles under the mossy oaks - Safe Harbor Reserve Harbor Yacht Club

Wedding under the moss covered oaks at the Reserve Harbor Marina Clubhouse

It’s been a couple of years since I’ve photographed a wedding at what used to be called the Reserve Harbor Yacht Club in Pawleys Island. It seems like they have changed their name. It’s now the Safe Harbor Reserve Harbor Marina Clubhouse . This location highlights the beauty of the Pawleys Island area, with the ancient oak trees covered in moss and a boardwalk through the forest that goes out onto the Waccamaw River. I love these Pawleys Island scenic spots where you can get that warm glow of the sunset filtering through the mossy trees in the background.

Hurricane Ian changed the wedding plans

Cathy and John had the original plans for their October 15th wedding thrown off by Hurricane Ian. Even though it was only a Category 1 storm when it hit Myrtle Beach, it flooded many coastal areas and devastated most of the dunes along the beach. I’m so sad how the dunes in the Pawleys Island area almost thoroughly washed away. The wedding was originally supposed to be at the Pawleys Island Chapel . We planned to take some beach pictures and then head to the Reserve Harbor Marina for photos at sunset. Because of the damage and flooding around the chapel, the ceremony moved to the lawn behind the harbor clubhouse.

I think Cathy and John ended up happy with the ceremony location changes. The spot they picked backs up to an old brick wall and giant towering oak trees with lots of shade. While the Pawleys Island Chapel is at a pretty site on the marsh, it is dated and not that beautiful inside. I much prefer an outdoor ceremony in a beautiful location with lots of trees. Time is always tight at a wedding, and having everything take place in the same area saves a lot of time and makes everyone more relaxed.

Beautiful sunset pictures on the boardwalk to the Waccamaw River

After the ceremony, we took all the usual family and bridal party pictures. The bridal party was a bit unique and fun as well. If I remember correctly, two groomsmen and one bridesmaid were the groom’s brothers and sister, and then two bridesmaids and one groomsman were the bride’s siblings. So the whole wedding party was family. We ended up just taking the pictures right near the ceremony location. It was ideal, with the great shade and pretty light filtering through all the trees in the background.

The Reserve Harbor Yacht Club has a unique feature. A long boardwalk heads out through the forest and along the edge of the Waccamaw River. This boardwalk is a beautiful picture area with all the moss-covered trees surrounding the well-cared-for path. I loved some of the shots of Cathy and John on the boardwalk with the sun in a perfect spot to create excellent out-of-focus light filtering through the trees and moss in the background.

We then walked a bit further down the boardwalk to the area that goes out over the Waccamaw River. I also love all the moss hanging over the walkway with the river heading off in the background. I even got a fun shot with the groom lifting the bride up into the air for a kiss. We were running short on time by this point, so we headed back to the clubhouse to start the reception.

I hope you enjoy the pictures below. Please let me know if you plan a wedding at the Safe Harbor Reserve Harbor Marina Clubhouse ( Reserve Harbor Yacht Club ), and I can show you some other beautiful weddings from this location and give you more information. As always, it was great working with Ash Events and DJ Broadway Jake Productions at this wedding.

The Stuart Boathouse is a favorite local spot featuring a nostalgic blend of history, culture, and world-class hospitality. Located an expertly restored early 20th century building that once served as the St. Lucie Hotel in the mid 1920s, the structure was physically moved to its current location, which boasts views in every direction of the stunning St. Lucie River. The restaurant self-identifies as “upscale dining at a great price,” with a menu spanning both land and sea– from soup and salad to sushi, flatbreads, fresh seafood, chicken, and steak.

Elliot Museum

The Elliott Museum is a treasure trove of temporary and permanent exhibits themed around a variety of historical subjects, including vintage cars, baseball, Americana, artwork, and much more. The museum was established in 1961 by Harmon Elliot to pay tribute to his father, Sterling Elliot, who was a prolific inventor, businessman and social activist. The senior Elliot was famously hailed a genius by his contemporary, Thomas Edison. He held more than 125 patents in his lifetime and invented a groundbreaking steering mechanism that would be used in American prototypes of the first automobiles. The museum bearing his name serves as a tribute to his life and work, with the hope of inspiring young minds toward innovation, curiosity, and character.

Exotic species flags differentiate locally introduced species from native species.

Naturalized : Exotic population is self-sustaining, breeding in the wild, persisting for many years, and not maintained through ongoing releases (including vagrants from Naturalized populations). These count in official eBird totals and, where applicable, have been accepted by regional bird records committee(s).

Provisional : Either: 1) member of exotic population that is breeding in the wild, self-propagating, and has persisted for multiple years, but not yet Naturalized; 2) rarity of uncertain provenance, with natural vagrancy or captive provenance both considered plausible. King Harbor Yacht Club – Opening Day 2024

reserve harbor yacht club about

None was seen along the rocks of the breakwall, none on docks nor decks, nothing starboard nor port of any vessels; it was confirmed once again April 7 – as the saying goes – the only ice to be found on boating season’s Opening Day was in the drinks of King Harbor Yacht Club members.

The longtime tradition originated in the northeast, where boaters wait for ice to retreat from waters before a new season begins.

Pictured for 2024 is Redondo Beach Mayor Jim Light, presenting a proclamation to King Harbor Yacht Club Commodore Andy Beggs for the group’s contributions to the city and boating. Mayor Light is a member.

Light also congratulated Beggs for the local club being named “Yacht Club of the Year” by the Southern California Yachting Association. Photo by Diana MacDougall. ER

8 Yacht Clubs and Marinas in the Philippines to Moor Your Boat In

Yacht Clubs and Marinas

FoodfindsAsia.com | 8 Yacht Clubs and Marinas in the Philippines to Moor Your Boat In | Filipinos’ history as a maritime people date back to prehistoric times. In fact, the Philippines’ basic sociopolitical unit today, the barangay, traces its etymological origins to the balangay , the ancient outrigger boats that were used by precolonial Filipino communities to explore and conquer islands this side of the Pacific. As a people belonging to a seafaring culture, it’s no wonder that modern Filipinos are taking a retrospective look at their glorious past as Austronesian mariners and are developing a renewed love for the ocean and marinas as present-day yachtsmen.

Today, Philippine marinas look to accommodate more and more yachts and other pleasure watercrafts as the years go by. In 2017, an ASEAN Briefing op-ed piece named the Philippines as a country with high potential in yacht industry growth. The natural beauty of the Philippine islands and its fantastic bays, combined with a growing interest in leisurely sea travel, can explain the spike in yachting activities throughout the country.

Are you part of the demographic that’s become enamored of the yachting lifestyle? Do you want to know where in the country you can berth your watercraft? Leading sailboat and motorboat authority Europa Yachts is happy to enter the conversation, and recommends the following locations for discovering the Philippines through yachting. Here is a short list of clubs and marinas in the country, organized by island region.

Manila Yacht Club and Marina, Manila, Metro Manila

Established in 1927, the Manila Yacht Club and Marina is one of the oldest yacht clubs in all of Asia, and is nestled in the scenic Manila Bay. It is also near other well-known landmarks in the city, such as the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP), the headquarters of the Philippine Navy, and the US Embassy. Facilities in the marina include a launching ramp and a fueling center, and the club itself is host to a restaurant and gorgeous function rooms. The Manila Yacht Club only welcomes visitors who arrive by boat, and it charges an initial security deposit of USD 750 upon arrival. Club membership is mandatory for medium and long-term mooring of boats.

Subic Bay Yacht Club, Zambales

The Subic Bay Yacht Club, which was founded in 1998, upholds itself as the country’s premier yacht club. It operates in the deepest bay in the country, and can host vessels well beyond 50 meters in length. Already benefitting from the innate beauty of the Zambales mountains surrounding it, the club hosts a number of other attractions, including its luxury accommodations, swimming pools, and its own movie theater, bowling alley, and nightclub. Those who venture outside of the club’s premises can also shop for well-priced imported goods at the Subic Freeport Zone, engage in water sports , or sign up for diving excursions.

Punta Fuego Yacht Club, Batangas

Peaceful Punta Fuego is a mecca for those who love the sport of sailing. As per its official website, the Punta Fuego Yacht Club aims to serve “a dynamic and vibrant community of boat enthusiasts and yacht owners.” This it does by playing host to a diverse population of watercrafts, from large catamarans and mono-hull yachts to small boats. Non-members of the club may use the berths for up to 3 weeks, and can refuel at the marina’s fueling station. The yacht club offers other amenities such as locker rooms, shower rooms, Internet facilities, a chart room, and a restaurant called Barracuda Bar, which serves delicious fares. Outside of the yachting crowd, Punta Fuego Yacht Club also caters to those wishing to celebrate weddings, conferences, and corporate events in their opulent quarters.

Puerto Galera Yacht Club, Oriental Mindoro

Further south, yachtsmen may moor at the Puerto Galera Yacht Club in Oriental Mindoro, an island location that’s home to tourist attractions like the Sabang Wreck dive site, lively beachfront resorts, and the Malasimbo Music Festival. Puerto Galera Yacht Club has been in operation for almost thirty years and lends services such as refueling provisions and yacht repairs from its marina. Boat owners also enjoy optimal convenience if mooring here, as they can also shop for spare parts in the nearby Batangas port.

Busuanga Yacht Club, Puerta del Sol Bay Marina, Palawan

Beautiful Palawan is a bucket-list destination for many, especially those who dream of cruising its crystalline waters. Accommodating the yachting community in this island province is the Busuanga Yacht Club, which promises secure mooring amidst breathtaking white-sand beaches. Here, each vessel will benefit from a typhoon-safe harbor, easy refueling, and direct access to transportation hubs like the New Busuanga Airport. Adjoining this marina is the Puerta del Sol Bay Resort, which offers luxurious accommodations to visitors.
