If you are planning to buy a yacht in the USA , 2yachts can offer you a wide variety of proposals for the sale of pleasure boats. Visitors to our website can filter offers by cost, type of yacht, region of sale and other criteria.

Buying a yacht in the USA

When choosing and processing documents for the purchase / sale of a ship, we advise you to trust our yacht broker, because a specialist, unlike the owner, will not embellish the existing condition of the yacht or hide flaws - the reputation in this matter is more important than the instant benefit.

It should be noted that in the United States, yacht prices are the lowest in the world, and recently they have dropped even more due to the economic downturn. If you are an avid fisherman, a seasoned traveler or a lover of new experiences, buying a yacht in the USA will be your best option to make your dreams come true. A specialist of our company will provide you with the latest and most profitable offers for the sale of yachts, and, if necessary, hold tenders with the seller to get the maximum discount on price. Our yacht brokers will take care of the selection of a vessel that perfectly meets your requirements and identifies even hidden flaws, as well as the preparation of related documents.

There shouldn’t be any problems with choosing yachts for sale in the USA , however, when buying, you need to pay attention to such a distance as the key ports - if the vessel is large enough, its delivery can be very difficult or even technically impossible. Our company has a large database of both new and used yachts - you can buy a ship in San Diego or Miami on the Florida coast so that for many years you can use it for organizing water vacations without any problems.

2yachts employs experienced specialists, and upon your request, the yacht broker will send detailed photos of the vessel or provide a link to the photos taken by a professional photographer, as well as arrange a survey and arrange payment for the purchase of the vessel in a way convenient for you and much more. We organize professional pre-sale inspection and inspection of yachts, assess their technical condition and draw conclusions about the advisability of buying - you can fully rely on us to buy or sell yachts in the USA .

It is known that in the USA, yachts that are considered to be one of the best in the world have been and are being manufactured - the use of modern materials and technologies allows us to produce high-strength hulls that can withstand the most difficult operating conditions. And if you touch on the topic of comfort and equipment, then you will definitely not find offers better than American yachts. And this is taking into account the fact that the cost of yachts in the USA is much more profitable than in European countries or in other regions of the world.

US Yacht Choice

When choosing proposals for the purchase of pleasure boats in the United States, not only their relatively low cost, but also a large selection of design solutions, finishing options and additional equipment bribes. If you are an ardent fan of diving or fishing, you will surely pick out a vessel for your liking in the US yacht market, but if you are primarily attracted to comfort and luxury, you will come across an impressive selection of beautifully decorated and equipped cruisers, if you prefer a relaxing family vacation, then also finding a suitable vessel will not be a problem. Buying and selling yachts in the United States is a well-established business, and you can choose a yacht for purchase in the United States and be completely sure that the vessel will be serviceable and that its purchase is legal.

A large number of yachting enthusiasts and yacht owners are concentrated in the USA, and Americans are in the habit much more often than, for example, Europeans, of updating the fleet of pleasure boats, therefore there are so many offers to sell used ships in this country. It is very simple to buy a yacht in one of the US ports by contacting the yacht brokers of our company - we can offer a guarantee for serviceability, insurance of all risks and support at all stages of the acquisition of ships.

A large number of proposals for the sale of yachts in Miami - the largest metropolis and port in the south-east of the country, having a favorable position on the Atlantic coast. Before buying, you need to determine the type of vessel (sailing, motor yacht, mega-yacht, cruiser, etc.) and your own requirements for its technical capabilities. You also need to decide for what purposes you will use the vessel - in personal or commercial (organization of yacht rental), the design features and other aspects will depend on this.

You can try to buy a yacht from a private person (bypassing the broker), but then the low cost of the yacht can be offset by additional difficulties. Please note that buying a yacht is already accompanied by significant difficulties requiring knowledge of the specifics of the legislation of the state where the vessel is supposed to be purchased.

When choosing a yacht for sale , make sure that it meets your needs as much as possible and somewhere exceeds your expectations. Buying a yacht is a big deal, and it is not often done. If you do not like something in the ship, be sure to inform the yacht broker so that he can fix it. We wish you an unforgettable aesthetic pleasure from buying a yacht!

Superyacht with underwater lights in Florida Keys marina

As part of the third largest continent in the world, the best time to visit during your superyacht vacation will naturally depend on your destination;

  • Pacific Northwest – peak cruising times are during the months of June-September, however, the shoulder months of May and early October are also worth considering, offering a less crowded chartering experience, especially around the San Juans, and the weather is still usually quite settled.
  • West   Coast – for yacht rentals around San Francisco, Napa Valley, California and Baja California further south, the best time to visit is around May through to November, although these destinations can be enjoyed all year round.
  • Florida – the optimum times to visit the Sunshine State will be from November through to April, which are the driest months where temperatures rarely dip below 20 degrees in winter. You should note that Christmas and New Year are peak times and can get busy, so if you are looking to rent a yacht over this period we recommend booking early. Ideally, ensure your yacht charter is booked no later than late spring/early summer to avoid the hurricane season from July-October.
  • New England – the ideal time to visit this charming location will be from May to September, although shoulder months are a great time to avoid the crowds, especially late September when the foliage on the leaves start to change to reveal the breathtaking canvas of golden hues and rich deep reds this destination is so famous for.

The USA has been a renowned destination for yacht lovers for years, spurring the construction of hundreds of excellent, well-equipped marinas up and down the East and West Coast, and throughout its vast labyrinth of waterways and lakes, which cater to yachts of all shapes and sizes.

We have listed some of our favourite marinas at which to park up and take a breather whilst on your yacht charter, where you are sure to be welcomed with a wide smile and offered lots of helpful advice as you head off to explore your new surroundings.

Attractive couple with a booking agent

With its incredibly diverse landscape offering a wide variety of spectacular destinations, the USA remains a hugely popular destination for yacht charters.

As a major yachting hub, there should always be a wide variety of yachts and destinations to choose from, however we do recommend booking your rental yacht well in advance of your trip to secure your perfect yacht on your preferred dates.

This will ensure your yacht broker has plenty of time to tailor an itinerary to suit you and your guests, including any nights you wish to spend in marinas. We recommend booking up to 3 months in advance to give your broker the optimum time to organize everything down to the last detail.

A purple car in florida, USA

For yacht charters in the Pacific Northwest;

  • Desolation Sound is very calm and sheltered so not always a good option for those who like to sail.
  • The San Juan islands are slightly protected from rain by the Olympic Mountains, but can still be showery at any time of the year.
  • Bring warm clothes for Alaska as temperatures get very chilly, especially near the glaciers.
  • Beware of large cruise ships as their wakes can be a nuisance.
  • Alaska is not an ideal destination for sailing, as winds are either non-existent or southwesterlies bring uncomfortable seas.
  • Some of the most beautiful anchorages around Alaska can be up to 100 ft deep.

For yacht charters on America's southwest coast;

  • If you are chartering a foreign-flagged vessel or returning from Mexico, you will be required to stop at Customs on Shelter Island, where they routinely confiscate chicken, eggs, and fruit.
  • It's also generally preferable to head south down the US West Coast rather than fight the winds and tides heading north.

For yacht charter itineraries that include the Bahamas

  • Insurance and taxes in the Bahamas are 4%.
  • Visa issues have been experienced clearing through the Bahamas.

Advice relating to all regions;

  • Tips on charters in the US are often expected to be at least 20%.
  • Whilst some yachts are legally permitted to charter in the US, others do not meet American fiscal requirements and so are not available for charter whilst in US waters. Please speak with a yacht broker for further advice on specific yachts that can charter in the USA.

Located in America’s Northeast and stretching nearly 3,500 miles from top to bottom, this area has been a drawcard with sailing elites for centuries. Most New England yacht charters start off in Newport Rhode Island , which enjoys convenient transport links and easy access to the marinas. Often heralded as the birthplace of yachting and home of America’s Cup challenger series, Newport is one of the most popular summer havens in the US, especially for the East Coast’s smartest families, who come to enjoy the gilded mansions, myriad mouthwatering seafood restaurants, glamorous yacht clubs and endless oceanside views that typifies this gloriously rich historic town. Head over to Block Island, known for its laid-back lifestyle, historic lighthouses and the beautiful Black Rock beach , perfectly suited for a hiking expedition.

Martha’s Vineyard is an absolute must for anyone who appreciates powdery beaches, boutique art galleries and quaint wooden plank homes. Another famous summer destination is Cape Cod , a rather apt hook-shaped promontory north of Nantucket, and a favorite residence of the Kennedy’s, known for its beautiful beaches and laid-back lifestyle, as well as being the fictional location for Jaws!

Stop off at Greenwich village port renowned for its designer shops then head up Long Island Sound with its glorious miles of coastline, entertainment and some of the most expensive real estate in America. Anchor outside the Montauk Yacht Club , The Hamptons' most exclusive sailing hub.

A hugely popular destination is the San Juans Islands : aptly nicknamed the “Virgin Islands of the North” and located south of the US/Canada border. Here the pace of life is slower, where friendly locals welcome you as you attempt to reconcile yourself with the mesmerizing scenery around you. Favorite areas in the region include the picturesque Orcas Island , the largest of the San Juans, where you can trek the tallest mountain in the archipelago – Mount Constitution – rising skyward for nearly half-a-mile. The 360º views at the top are well worth the effort! Another must-see is the delightful San Juan Island , with its delectable restaurants and bustling markets. Take a stroll through the exquisite Victorian gardens, or discover the island’s fascinating historical site of confrontation between British and American troops in 1859.

Head north to the spectacular Desolation Sound , where intense serene tranquility awaits. This area is considered one of America’s finest cruising grounds, where calm, sheltered waters teem with fish; oyster, clams, prawns, salmon and cod. Enjoy a spot of fishing off the back of the yacht and afterward your chef can prepare your catch for dinner onboard! There are numerous marine parks in the area with plenty of stunning anchorages. Step ashore for a lovely walk in the woods, where you could encounter a herd of elk, soaring eagles or even a grizzly – so don't forget to pack your bear spray!

If you are intending to include the stunning Baja California in your itinerary, where better than to kick things off in the eternally glamorous city of Los Angeles , where convenient transport links, not to mention some of the finest restaurants and bars in America, will prove a great starting point for your yacht charter. Take a stroll along Redondo Beach , Los Angeles’ hidden gem, before heading back to your yacht. Cruise to Newport Beach just off the coast of Los Angeles, the renowned playground for mega yachts and Hollywood royalty. If you’ve booked ahead, moor up at Newport Beach Club, one of the oldest in the US, and take a stroll across the bridge to Balboa Island , where nostalgically charming cottages with white picket fences, saltwater taffy shops and wooden ice-cream parlors abound.

USA Yacht Charter Q&A

Whilst some yachts are legally permitted to charter in the US, others do not meet American fiscal requirements and so are not available for charter whilst in US waters.  Many charter yachts are foreign flag vessels and don't qualify.

Please speak with a yacht charter broker  for further information on specific yachts that can charter in US Waters.

Where to begin your yacht charter depends on your chosen destination in this hugely diverse continent. For New England yacht charters, the popular option is Newport, Rhode Island, an all-American yachting hub boasting picturesque harbours, gilded-age mansions and chic yacht clubs.

For Florida yacht charters, the glamorous city of Miami tends to be the preferred jumping off point. Alternatively, yacht charters can begin in Nassau, Bahamas before making their way up the Florida Keys to finish up in Florida. With a raft of international airports at your disposal, along with world-class cruising areas, the choice is really up to you.

For yacht charters on the southwest coast, a popular starting point is in the beautiful harbor of San Francisco, where views of the Golden Gate Bridge greet you as you fly in. For charters in the Pacific northwest region, most yacht charters incorporate either the breathtaking San Juan Islands or the scenic splendor of Alaska further north, with most international flights routing through the main hub Seattle for both destinations, with smaller charter flights operating out from here.

There are myriad yachts available for charter in America, which come in all shapes and sizes, from speedy planing models to luxury mega yachts and everything in between.

The costs will vary depending on your chosen destination and time of year, so be sure to contact your yacht broker well in advance who can help you secure your perfect yacht and itinerary, including any nights you wish to spend in marinas.

The best time to visit during your yacht charter really depends on your destination;

New England – May-September, although shoulder months are a great time to avoid the crowds.

Florida – November-April. Be sure to avoid the hurricane season from July-October.

Southwest – May-November, although this region can be enjoyed all year round.

Pacific Northwest – June-September, although shoulder months of May and early October are also worth considering.

To give you an idea of which yachts are available, you can browse the complete fleet of North American charter yachts on our site. If you make an enquiry, a yacht charter broker will be in touch to provide you with a custom charter proposal based on your requirements.

Alternatively, please speak with your preferred yacht charter broker , who can help you find the ideal yacht and itinerary for you and your charter party.

Speak with your yacht broker who can arrange to secure your chosen yacht on your selected dates. Your broker will then draw up a legally binding agreement for you both to sign, along with the yacht owner and captain.

Depending on the type of contract, usually a standard agreement with terms applicable to the destination, you will be required to pay 50% of the base charter fee, plus a further 25-30% to cover additional costs incurred whilst on charter, such as fuel, food and drink and marina fees.

To find out more, read our guide on yacht charter costs , which details the costs involved when booking a yacht charter. For more information, please speak with a  yacht broker .

A Russian oligarch's megayacht seized by the US is costing taxpayers a fortune, and the government is desperate to sell

  • A Russian oligarch's seized megayacht is costing US taxpayers $922,000 a month, a court filing says.
  • Officials said last month it costs $600,000 — but there's also insurance and dry-docking fees.
  • Another Russian billionaire is claiming ownership of the yacht and opposing attempts to sell it.

Insider Today

A Russian oligarch's megayacht is costing taxpayers almost $1 million a month after the government seized it, court filings say.

US officials say the $300-million Amadea is owned by Suleiman Kerimov , a sanctioned Russian billionaire. It has a helipad, a swimming pool, and a movie theater on board.

The 348-foot vessel was first seized by authorities in Fiji in April 2022. It's now docked in San Diego, but the government wants to sell it due to huge maintenance costs.

Related stories

Last month, an assistant chief in the US Marshals Service said the Amadea was costing the government about $600,000 a month .

That's made up of $360,000 for crew salaries; $75,000 for fuel; and $165,000 for maintenance, waste removal, food for the crew, and miscellaneous expenses.

But a Friday court filing seen by Business Insider says there are actually even more costs that bring the total monthly bill up to $922,000.

It costs $144,000 to insure the megayacht, and dry-docking fees of $178,000 a month, the filing says.

The legal battle over the Amadea involves another Russian billionaire, Eduard Khudainatov, who claims he, not Kerimov, is the owner of the yacht.

Lawyers for Khudainatov, who is not sanctioned, have objected to the government's attempts to sell the Amadea.

According to CNBC, which first reported on Friday's filing, Khudainatov has offered to reimburse the government for the $20 million it has already spent maintaining the yacht if it's returned to him.

However, as long as the government continues trying to sell the Amadea, he won't pay the costs, CNBC reported.

Why are gas prices going up? Demand, change to summer blend have TN drivers paying more at the pump

usa yacht prices

Gas prices in Tennessee are creeping up once again, but it's still cheaper than it was last year...slightly.

The average gas price for Tennessee this week jumped over the $3 mark and now sits at $3.08, just a few cents shy of what it was at the same time in 2023, according to AAA . Many communities in Tennessee have surpassed the $3 mark but there are a handful of counties still under.

It has been a slow creep up the last month, but there could be a steep spike soon.

“This is the time of year we normally see pump prices start to rise,” said Andrew Gross, AAA spokesperson. “And while prices have been rather pokey so far, they should begin to accelerate and move higher very soon.”

This shift in prices comes as seasonal demand trends higher along with higher costs for oil and the switch to the summer blend of gasoline that runs 10-15 cents higher, reports AAA.

Gas prices near me: Average prices in counties across Tennessee

Gas prices on average in Tennessee as of mid-March hit $3.08. Some communities are seeing higher prices others lower. Here's a look at some of the average prices in counties across the state according to AAA.

  • Davidson County: $3.11
  • Knox County: $3.05
  • Shelby County: $3.11
  • Williamson County: $3.32
  • Highest gas price on average in the state: Williamson County, $3.32
  • Lowest gas price on average in the state: White County, $2.92

Keep up with the latest average gas prices at  gasprice.aaa.com.

What's the difference between summer blend and winter blend gasoline?

The biggest difference between the winter and summer blend gasoline comes down to the fuel’s Reid Vapor Pressure which measures how easily the fuel evaporates at a given temperature.

Winter-blend gas has a higher Reid Vapor Pressures that allows the fuel to evaporate at low temperatures for the engine to operate properly. Summer-blend gas is lower to prevent excessive evaporation when outside temperatures rise, according to AAA.

The difference between the two is also the price tag, summer blend fuel is more expensive to make than winter blend fuel. According to the National Association of Convenience Stores fuel news , the production process takes longer and, second, the overall yield of gasoline per barrel of oil is lower. All of this adds up to as much as 15 cents more per gallon to produce these higher-grade fuels.

The summer blend may cost a bit more, but you usually get better gas mileage for those summer road trips.

Gas prices in Tennessee: 2023 vs. 2024

Gas prices are a bit cheaper than they were a year ago in the state, but not by much.

In March 2023, the average price of gas across the state was $3.14.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Four U.S. Army boats, loaded with tons of equipment and steel pier segments, left Virginia on Tuesday, heading to Gaza as part of the U.S. effort to expand the delivery of food and other supplies to starving Palestinians as Israel’s war against Hamas drags on.

The ships pulled out of docks at Joint Base Langley-Eustis and headed down the James River toward the Atlantic Ocean for what could be a month-long voyage to the Mediterranean Sea. There, at a yet-to-be-announced location along the Gaza shore, they will build and begin to operate a floating dock to receive the aid.

Since Hamas militants attacked Israel on Oct. 7, Israel’s military has battered the territory, killing more than 30,000 Palestinians, according to the Gaza Health Ministry, and creating a humanitarian catastrophe . The U.N. says virtually all of Gaza’s 2.3 million people are struggling to find food. But getting humanitarian aid to the area has been difficult, due to the ongoing hostilities and struggles to coordinate with the Israeli military, which has blocked routes and slowed deliveries due to inspections.

The latest Pentagon plan calls for the U.S. military to build what is called a modular causeway system. Off shore, the Army will build a large floating platform where ships can unload large containers of aid. Then the aid will be transferred by the Army to a motorized string of steel causeway sections that have been pushed to the shore.

FILE - A woman and her children walk past a wall with photographs of hostages who were kidnapped during the Oct. 7 Hamas cross-border attack in Israel in Jerusalem, Israel, Monday, Feb. 26, 2024. (AP Photo/Leo Correa, File)

That pier is expected to be as much as 1,800 feet (550 meters) long, with two lanes, and the Pentagon has said it could accommodate the delivery of more than 2 million meals a day for Gaza residents. Officials have not said who will be unloading the containers and taking the aid ashore. President Joe Biden has said there will be no U.S. troops on the ground in Gaza.

On Tuesday, as family members and senior Army commanders watched, about 70 soldiers with the 7th Transportation Brigade (Expeditionary) pulled away from the docks in four U.S. Army vessels: the USAV Wilson Wharf, USAV Matamoros and USAV Monterrey, all Army landing crafts, and the larger USAV SP4 James A. Loux, a logistics support watercraft.

The brigade’s commander, Army Col. Sam Miller, said about 500 of his soldiers will participate in the mission. All together, Pentagon officials have said about 1,000 U.S. troops will be involved.

Calling it a complicated mission, Miller said the transit will take about a month, but it will depend on weather and any possible high seas. The actual construction, he said, will take about a week, but that also could be hampered by weather. Then it will take additional time to get the delivery process coordinated with those providing the aid and the system up and running. Defense officials have said it will take about two months to get the deliveries started.

The Army’s vessels and maritime capabilities are unique and not as well known as the Navy’s. The last time the 7th Transportation Brigade did a similar mission to construct a large pier was in Haiti in 2010. But it has participated in a number of major military exercises.

“The soldiers here are energized, they’re motivated, they’re excited,” Miller said, adding that the new humanitarian mission “gives them purpose and meaning” and highlights the Army’s watercraft. He noted that just 36 hours after Biden ordered the operation, the first Army vessel — the USAV General Frank S. Besson logistics ship — left Joint Base Langley-Eustis on Saturday.

Miller said a larger Maritime Sealift Command ship will also be leaving Virginia in the coming days, and will be carrying some of the bigger equipment and more of the steel pier segments.

Prison escapees charged with murder in deaths of American couple presumed dead after yacht hijack

Three inmates who escaped prison in Grenada last month have been charged with capital murder in the deaths of an America n couple presumed dead after their yacht was hijacked.

Ron Mitchell, 30, Atiba Stanisclaus, 25, and Trevon Robertson, 23, were charged with two counts of capital murder “by intentionally causing” the deaths of Ralph Hendry and Kathleen Brandel, the Royal Grenada Police Force announced Thursday.

The three men had escaped custody on the island of Grenada on Feb. 18, "commandeered" a yacht called Simplicity docked in the St. George area, and made their way to the nearby island of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, where they were recaptured on Feb. 21 , police had said.

Kathy Brandel, front left, and Ralph Hendry, front right, with family.

Simplicity was Hendry and Brandel's sailing yacht and they were on board at the time.

St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police said last week the couple is presumed “deceased.”

Royal Grenada Police Commissioner Don McKenzie also said last week the couple was most likely “disposed of” at sea by the escaped prisoners. McKenzie said there’s   a “low probability” Brandel and Henry might be alive.

The scene on the couple’s boat was “consistent with signs of violence,” St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Superintendent Junior Simmons said last week.

“Several items were strewn on the deck and in the cabin, and a red substance that resembled blood was seen on board,” he said. “There was no discovery of bodies on board the yacht.”

The three inmates were also charged with escaping lawful custody, housebreaking, robbery, and two counts of kidnapping. Stanislaus was additionally charged with one count of rape — though police did not say who Stanislaus is accused of raping.

All three made their first court appearance in court Thursday and were remanded to prison. They are due back in court on March 27.

Hendry and Brandel, American retirees and sailing enthusiasts, traded their life in Alexandria, Virginia, for their longtime dream of life at sea, experiencing "a different adventure every day," Brandel’s son, Nick Buro, told  NBC Washington .

The couple had been planning the trip down to Grenada — their first to the Caribbean island — for “years and years and years, training themselves, preparing the boat, preparing themselves ... to make the trip,” Hendry’s son, Bryan Hendry, told   the station.

The family of Hendry and Brandel released a statement on Feb. 27 through the Salty Dawg Sailing Association , which the couple had made their voyage to the Caribbean with.

“We are incredibly saddened to hear the news that our parents Kathy Brandel and Ralph Hendry are now presumed dead. We remain optimistic in the on-going search led by the St. Vincent Coast Guard," the statement said.

"While the end of their life may have been dark, they brought light, and that light will never be extinguished from the hearts and minds of the people who knew, loved and cared so deeply about them," it continued.

“Ralph and Kathy lived a life that most of us can only dream of, sailing the eastern coast of the United States, living on their home Simplicity, making friends with everyone they encountered, singing, dancing and laughing with friends and family — that’s who Ralph and Kathy were and that’s how they will be remembered in our hearts."
