The aft deck welcomes you aboard Sandrine with Teak and Holly deck in a Herringbone design. The curved teak bar has a full service of appliances. It's a great place to cool off with a drink after a day of water sports. The bar is topped with Australian Blue Granite. The eleven foot custom teak dining table easily seats 8-10 for causal dining or converts to cocktail size to suit your entertaining style. Beautiful duo steps aft lead you down to the cockpit.

Entering the main salon through the automatic sliding door you find an interior that is comfortable yet elegant, meant to relax and rejuvenate you. A variety of organic materials such as wool and silk hand tufted carpet and flame mahogany paneling enhance the elegant feel of the salon.

Dining Room

The Dining Room is amidships to port across from the foyer entrance, and seats 8 comfortably, with high gloss sapeli paneling and cabinetry with flame mahogany inserts. The dining area is enclosed fore and aft with cabinetry and art, most interestingly an artistic carved glass panel in a wave design that lights up for effect at night hiding the salon from the dining area. The four bookmatched Mountain Verde marble slabs used as flooring continue the organic theme begun in the salon and compliment the hand crafted chandelier over the dining table.

Forward of the dining area and down a short hallway you find the spacious country galley. The gloss sapeli cabinets with diamond cross grain details and Silver Granite counter tops build on the organic feel of the main living areas. The windows fill the galley with natural light and draw guests to a casual breakfast or lunch served in the country kitchen.

The Pilothouse is a spacious state of the art control room on Sandrine. With the Moritz Octoplex power management and monitoring system installed on Sandrine you can control all the electronic systems on the yacht from any one of the menu-driven touch screens, all from the comfort of the Captain's leather Stidd chair or where you happen to be on the yacht. There is a built in cabinet with room for large navigation maps an acknowledgement that old school still has a place on this modern vessel. The Octoplex Power Distribution System by Moritz Aerospace comes with an extended warranty and a Captain, Crew and Owner orientation.

Aft of the bridge is the cozy skylounge, which is dressed comfortably with zebra wood paneling with wenge' wood and satin sapeli and maitore accents. It's a cozy space, dominated by a large dropdown screen for the projection television unit suspended over the portside settee as well as a flat screen TV in a built in cabinet.

Bowl side lit with privacy glass panel of Ultra Glass in window.

Central Stairwell

To conserve space and volume, the central stairway that runs from the below decks guest accommodations through the main deck foyer to the upper level Skylounge is a compact design that takes little away from the generous, but still finite, space available on a yacht this size. The "winder" design with a small hollow center core that allows a few more inches of tread for your feet as you climb, making it both safer and more comfortable than a traditional spiral.

The full-width master is aft, with a settee to port and cabinetry to starboard. Fluted delicate columns frame out the bed with a mirror backdrop. Rich cayenne custom silks, plush velvet and golden bronze decor create a welcome oasis of calm for you to enjoy during your break from the daily routine. Your feet will sink into the Merritech New Zealand wool and silk carpeting. On either side of the bed headboard are doors leading to his-and-hers en suite bath that also spans the full width and includes a full size tub with TV above for her and a center-line shower for him with Falling Snow Marble floors throughout.

The most unusual of the four staterooms is the VIP, which is forward of the lower foyer. Here the stateroom and head share the space athwart-ships, with the stateroom and a king-sized bed to port and a dressing area/bathroom to starboard; when the door between the two rooms is open it gives the impression of a much larger space. Your guest will appreciate having the desk/vanity, 3 chests for storage, and double sinks in the bath. The VIP stateroom is very private, full beam and the fabrics and textures are as rich and elegant as you would find in any master stateroom.

Twin Guest Staterooms (2)

The guest staterooms have generous storage and twin beds that easily convert to queen berths. The staterooms are spacious with decors of Taupe silks in the Queen positions and more fun decors of Harlequins in the Twin positions. The starboard guest stateroom also includes a Pullman berth. The en suite heads have large marble showers, tons of storage, and marble floors.

Crew Quarters

4 Crew staterooms allows for a crew of 7. The Captain's Cabin has a double berth and en suite head. There are two additional cabins for crew with twin berths and a shared head. The shared head is designed so the shower and the water closet each have their own enclosed spaces, allowing both sides to be used simultaneously. Plus there is a separate Stew Cabin

The lazarette is fully equipped for cruising. Entering the lazarette you will find white storage cabinets for toys, dive equipment and spare parts, built-in tool chest, freezer, ice machine, washer/dryer, workbench with sink and head on starboard side.

From the Aft Deck, twin staircases lead down to a sportfishing-style cockpit , which includes a sole hatch for the bait and a fish well in the transom to keep the catch fresh after being landed. There is even a transom, sportfishing style, door leading to a stern platform for easy access to the tenders. The cockpit is the perfect spot for water sports, diving, or fishing.

The word “integrity” takes on all manner of meanings at sea: The integrity of the hull comes immediately to mind. A lesser-known usage refers to the quality and consistency of electronic data. The integrity of one’s shipmates, a necessity on long passages-or in a marriage- is even more important. And all of these definitions come into play aboard Sandrine , a new 120-foot Hargrave motoryacht.

Hargrave Custom Yachts built the pretty trideck to order for Rick and Sandy Sorenson, and the entire vessel was executed the way they wanted it. Sandrine is a showpiece, a prime example of how far Hargrave has come in finish and sophistication. It starts with the interior, but it goes well beyond that.

Sandrine has four staterooms belowdecks, a spacious country galley forward, a cozy skylounge abaft her wheelhouse, and an open flying bridge for casual relaxation. No one doubts that Hargrave knows how to build a solid yacht. But Sandrine takes Hargrave to a new level in a number of areas, first of all in their interiors: Mountain verde marble forms the sole amidships on the main deck, perfectly bookmatched in four large quadrants that define the boundaries of the dining room and foyer. There are also a number of cast-glass art panels, including a large one between the dining room and salon, and a smaller one in the skylounge day-head. The skylounge itself is a special treat, decorated in an African theme with tribal masks and art, and finished with wenge and zebra wood joinery.

The interior design was a collaborative effort of Yacht Interiors by Shelley, who have worked with Hargrave on a number of yachts, and Sandy Sorenson. The interior arrangement, the exterior styling, and the naval architecture are by Hargrave’s in-house team, and their talents show in little details that may pass without notice unless you’re watching for them. For instance, the central stairway that runs from the belowdecks guest accommodations through the maindeck foyer to the upper-level skylounge is a compact design that takes little away from the generous, but still finite, space available on a yacht of this size. To conserve space and volume, the staircase is close to being a spiral, but without the drawbacks of that classic feature. The stairway aboard Sandrine , called a “winder,” has a small hollow central core that allows a few more inches of tread for your feet as you climb, making it both safer and more comfortable than a spiral. It’s a small distinction, but an important one when you’re descending the stairs with the yacht rolling in a beam sea.

As pretty and comfortable as she is, Sandrine is hiding a little secret under her skin. I had reviewed the yacht’s specifications and arrangement plans before my visit, and had consequently wandered through the yacht, taking in all the décor and layout details. My only clues to her secret were one line in the specifications and a few switches that I noted for their ease of understanding and functionality. The spec line read “Octoplex System” without further elaboration, but that was to come during my second visit to Sandrine . The next day, Sandy’s husband Rick Sorenson, president and CEO of Carling Technologies gave me the tour. Carling makes the Carlingswitch electrical products found on so many yachts. One of the group’s subsidiaries is Moritz Aerospace, developer of the Octoplex System ( www.octoplex.com ) referenced in the specifications.

Octoplex derives its name and logo from the octopus, and it is a multiplexing system that owes some of its design to that cephalopod, with multiple legs reaching out from a central “brain.” The system remotely monitors and controls both AC and DC circuit breakers. It also enables plug-and-play installation of NMEA 2000 electronic components, allowing for future expansion or modernization of electronic installations, and is non-proprietary, so most standard marine electrical equipment can be wired into the system. It reduces the length and gauge of wire runs, lowering cost and weight during construction and reducing voltage drop.

Sandrine is Rick Sorenson’s baby, the first superyacht showcase for the Octoplex system, and he was eager to reveal her secrets. Rather than beginning his tour in the elegant salon, Rick dived immediately into the lazarette, where the core of the Octoplex system resides. Here, the system is integrated with three 3-phase shorepower panels as well as an Atlas shorepower converter. The system is also set up to allow automatic start and paralleling of the two gensets based on load, and there’s a substantial inverter with automatic load-shedding features that kicks in to maintain essential functions should there be an AC power failure.

The remainder of the Octoplex system, consisting of two main wiring busses and a number of subpanels, is scattered in hidden spaces around the yacht, out of sight but readily accessible. There are also touchscreen panels for control and monitoring wherever needed, and each can be preprogrammed to allow or prohibit specific functions.

As complicated as the system may be to design and install-all 177 light switches, plus most of the electrical equipment, feed through the system-conversely, it is simple to operate. Those understandable switches I noted earlier are all that the routine guest will ever see, but their simple looks belie their sophistication and capability. The bath vent-fan switches, for instance, are programmed to 65-percent power to reduce noise, and are timed at ten minutes for automatic shutoff.

The captain and crew, on the other hand, have full control. They will know immediately if there’s trouble with the bilge pump, if a navigation light is out, or if the frozen stores locker has lost power. They can also remotely monitor and control almost all of the electrical and electronic equipment aboard Sandrine via small touchscreens, or reprogram functions as requirements change.

Troubleshooting is straightforward, and in the event of a failure that the owner-operator or captain cannot diagnose or repair, Octoplex technicians can tap into the system via satellite or landline to evaluate the system remotely. Should something go wrong with the Octoplex hardware-which is unlikely given its ultra-reliable aviation genesis-the breaker panels have a provision for switching over to manual mode to keep things going. Breaker sockets are programmable, so a universal breaker good for up to 30 amps will protect at 5 amps if that’s where the socket was initially programmed. No resetting of the breaker itself is required. Not only does this reduce the number of spares to be carried, but allows non-essential breakers to be moved to essential functions should there be no spares available. A measure of the user-friendliness of the Octoplex system is that it has now been specified as standard equipment not only by Hargrave but also by several production yacht builders, including Viking Yachts, for smaller yachts that are often owner-operated.

Motor yacht Philmx boasts a wealth of convivial spaces, perfect for luxury yacht charters with families of friends, offering ample opportunities to kick back and relax, or enjoy the water on the yacht's array of water toys, the choice is yours. She is equipped with beach club and gym.

Guest Accommodation

Built in 2014, Philmx offers guest accommodation for up to 10 guests in 5 suites comprising a master suite located on the main deck, two VIP cabins and two twin cabins. There are 7 beds in total, including 1 king, 2 queen, 4 singles and 2 convertible. She is also capable of carrying up to 8 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht charter experience.

Onboard Comfort & Entertainment

On your charter, you'll find plenty to keep you busy and entertained including a beach club for you to relax on the edge of the water. You can visit the well-equipped gym so that you can keep up with your fitness routine at sea and retreat to the deck jacuzzi and soak up the scenery.

Whatever your activities on your charter, you'll find some impressive features are seamlessly integrated to help you including Wi-Fi connectivity, allowing you to stay connected at all times, should you wish. You can stay comfortable on board whatever the weather, with air conditioning during your charter.

Performance & Range

Built with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, she offers greater on-board space and is more stable when at anchor thanks to her full-displacement hull. Powered by twin Caterpillar engines, she comfortably cruises at 13 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 16 knots with a range of up to 3,100 nautical miles from her 59,000 litre fuel tanks at 12 knots. An advanced stabilisation system on board reduces the side-to-side roll of the yacht and promises guests exceptional comfort levels at anchor or when underway.

Philmx knows a thing or two about fun on the water, with a selection of water toys and accessories for you and your guests to enjoy whilst on charter. Principle among these are Inflatable sailboats to bring out the explorer in you. Take to the sea on the Jet Skis offering you power and control on the water. Additionally, there is a waterski that are hugely entertaining whether you are a beginner or a seasoned pro. If that isn't enough Philmx also features wakeboards, kayaks, inflatable water toys, paddleboards and snorkelling equipment. Philmx features two tenders, but leading the pack is a Zodiac Rescue Boat to transport you in style.

Sunrise Yachts, a luxury yacht building company which is based in Turkey, has been made a main sponsor of next year’s 2011 Moscow International Boat Show (MIBS). The four-day Russian yacht show event is currently scheduled to run from April 14-17 at the Moscow’s Crocus exhibition centre.

MIBS is organised by the ITE Group and it is one of Russia’s leading boat shows and is an internationally recognised superyacht event. The show covering everything from small parts and accessories to large superyacht with over 9,000 people and 178 exhibitors attended the last year show.

The Paolo Scanu-designed Sunrise 45 yacht is an ocean-going cruising yacht that was released in 2009 to much acclaim at this was the group’s first-ever model.

Sunrise Yachts was founded in 2007 by the German entrepreneur Herbert P Baum along with the French-British yacht builder Guillaume Roché. The luxury yacht group is based in Antalya, Turkey and utilises a 10,000sq m shipyard facility. Sunrise has two sheds measuring 100m (328ft) x 16m (53ft), as well as a 70m (230ft) x 16m (53ft) fully acclimatized paint shed that can accommodate new-build and refit projects up to 65m (213ft) in length and 1,200 tonnes displacement.

Along each side of the yacht-building facility, space is available for long-term sub-contractors with the latest equipment and logistics capabilities, along with air-conditioned storage, ventilation and extraction plants. The shipyard is organized as an “assembler,” based loosely on the car industry’s model, with a small, yet powerful project management team charged with running all the in-house long-term sub-contractors.
