BROKERS REMARKS: DALLIANCE is the only crewed ex-charter Leopard 58 available on the market.  There is a reason that existing owners have not wanted to sell, as there is simply nothing else on the market that gives Super-Yacht feeling at this price point.  Dalliance has always been the jewel of our fleet, and has been crewed by a professional team since day one.  The quality and calibre of this yacht reflects this, we welcome a viewing, and can introduce you to her loyal crew.

AVAILABILITY: This yacht has just completed her phase out in BVI and is ready to sail away.

NOTE:  This vessel sustained some damage from Hurricane IRMA, and has been repaired following the builders guidelines.  The pictures of the vessel were taken after the repairs were completed.  Please contact your Broker for more detailed information on the repairs.

We take pride in our happy customers

Your team delivered on every mark. You’ve got an amazing broker in Mark Wattrus and I’m confident you will have continued success moving forward together. He was available 24/7 whenever I had questions. We had a great initial visit on the boat and his marketing plan and photos were superb

I bought a yacht that I had never seen. I did this because I trusted my broker Andrew Holland. It was not an easy job for Andrew, as I am an experienced boat builder and owner of previous yachts, but work in West Africa. Imagine how hard it was to communicate what I was looking for. Andrew came up with exactly what I wanted. He dealt with time delays, all my questions at odd hours, and was there for the survey. He reported honestly and professionally. After buying the yacht, I arrived at the boat on a Sunday night, after dark, after travelling from West Africa to the Caribbean, and found it was better than expected. He never pulled punches and made me aware of shortfalls. I expected to spend my one month leave working on the boat, but actually spent less than one week, and was able to spend 3 weeks sailing – wonderful bonus.

Thank you Andrew for putting up with all my questions, all my worries and all my crazy out of the time zone concerns – you were totally professional, but also I know that if and when we meet up, it will be like a friend finally meeting. You are always welcome on Aseka.

— Beverly Cory

Outstanding company with professional subject matter experts. If I were to buy or sell cruising sailboat, particularly a catamaran, Andrew would be my go to broker.

I have been sailing since I was a child and attended Massachusetts Maritime Academy. But when my wife and I began the process of purchasing an ocean cruising/racing catamaran, I realized that this is a world unto itself. Obviously, we needed to find someone knowledgeable to help us make an informed decision. More importantly, we needed someone honest and willing to put our interests before his or her own. I was lucky to work with Phil Berman at The Multihull Company. He repeatedly shunned the fast buck, choosing instead to work the long road to connect us with the “perfect boat”. I would be glad to recommend Phil and his company to anyone planning to purchase or sell a performance sailing machine.

— Eric Boutiette

Andrew Hodgdon was our broker when we bought our 2018 Lagoon 450F in Antigua in April 2922. He provided great service and was very attentive to our needs. We would highly recommend Andrew and the Multihull Company.

58 foot catamaran

Since its debut, the second-generation 58 Convertible has received a plethora of five-star reviews from journalists, Viking dealers and captains who’ve raved about her bone-dry ride, nimble handling, large cockpit, free-flowing spacious interior and a host of other attributes. And as the first owners began to take delivery, word was spreading throughout sportfishing ports around the globe that the Viking Yacht Company has delivered yet another bluewater champion destined for greatness.

“We’re successful with every model we release, but there are times when you hit one right out of the ball park,” says Viking President and CEO Pat Healey.

The Viking Yacht Company sold more than 110 of its first-generation 58 Convertible from 1991 to 2000, helping build the New Gretna, New Jersey, company into a sportfishing powerhouse. “It was our largest boat at the time and a major milestone for us,” says Pat. Eighteen years later, Viking’s “Gen II” 58 C is once again leaving the competition in its wake and staking its claim as not only a tournament champion but the best high-performance family cruising yacht in its class.

Fishermen and cruisers alike are always hungry for new designs, new ideas and innovation—and Viking has been ringing the dinner bell since 1964. “We are not taking old concepts and knocking the cobwebs off of them,” says Pat. “Our Gen II 58 and all of our boats are new designs.”

An Evolution of the 55

Our new 58 C builds on the success of the Gen I 58, but its pedigree also includes two generations of the 55 Convertible. The latest 55 has dominated the mid-50-foot range since 2012, while the iconic first-generation of the 55 Convertible stands out as one the most important boats in Viking’s storied history.

“Our design, engineering, boatbuilding and tournament experiences over the past 18 years evolved into the 58 that we have today,” says Pat.

The 58 C is longer than our most recent 55 Convertible, but maintains the same 17’ 9” beam. “We believe we have optimized the length-to-beam ratio, giving the 58 C an enhanced ride and additional interior volume,” says Viking Design Manager David Wilson. “This boat can run faster in the same sea conditions because the bottom is softer, more refined and efficient.”

The underbody hull form allows the 58 C, despite its greater size, to achieve the same top speed as the 55 C, and with more efficient 10-cylinder engines.

The performance of the new 58 C has been its most lauded attribute so far. The boat has exhibited an incredible ability to keep spray down, running clean with its molded strakes guiding the water to break just aft of the house windshield. These performance attributes are due, in part, to the aggressive positioning of the strakes as well as their downturned angle and radiused shape.

“It’s more than just the strakes, though,” says Dave. “Other critical factors include the speed and balance of the boat; its center of gravity; trim and shaft angle; and engine installation. All of these elements were scrutinized from the previous models and adjusted over the years. This is what we do—build a better boat every day.”

All areas benefit from the 58 C’s larger size, particularly the cockpit and the salon. The 58 C’s cockpit is 14 square feet larger than the 55 C’s while still providing a full-featured mezzanine with a shaded seating area and beautifully upholstered cushions; freezer, cooler, bait and tackle storage; and engine access.

The main difference in the interior layout of these two boats is that the galley-and-dinette arrangement has been reversed. The 58’s galley is on the port side, while the dinette takes the starboard position. The result: a more streamlined layout with a convenient companionway that extends in a straight line from the starboard-side salon door all the way to the forepeak. Below, the master stateroom is now on the port side with an athwartships bed that allows for increased walkaround and hanging locker space.

Operator Friendly

Ideal for the owner/operator or the owner who wants to utilize a part-time crew, the 58 C benefits from Viking’s industry-leading engineering and technological advancements without sacrificing ease of operation, maintenance and access to operational systems. Our design, engineering and manufacturing teams scrutinized every material and method used to build the boat and each and every system to come away with a lean, efficient and operator-friendly sportfishing yacht. “We were determined to keep weight down,” says David. “When it comes to speed and performance, every pound counts.”

Efficiency can be seen in every area throughout the boat, including the mechanical systems in the engineroom and lazarette. While two generators are offered, the standard 21.5 kW unit delivers more than enough power for everyday uses. That same engineering flexibility exists for gyro stabilization. Although we offer both the Seakeeper SK 16 and Seakeeper SK 9, the latter provides a very high level of stability.

Control of the electrical systems is easily managed, with conveniently located distribution panels in the salon and galley equipped with simple-to-use and clearly labeled conventional switches. Below the water, a series of dedicated pumps for the air conditioning, live wells, washdown and other seawater-fed components have been designed, engineered and installed for durability and longevity.

Cockpit & Mezzanine

At 165 square feet, the 58 Convertible’s cockpit is the largest in its class—a full 12 square feet bigger than its closest competitor. All of the cockpit’s lids open and close via stainless steel gas pistons. Their undersides are rimmed with thick gasketing, and deep gutters around the hatch openings ensure quick drainage. The centerline lazarette houses the Seakeeper and provides access to the steering and drain pumps in the Snow White Awlgripped bilge. The starboard-side full-length fishbox is insulated and removable, while the port side contains two in-deck storage boxes. The forward unit can be rigged as a live well.

The cockpit sole is built with a laminated mounting plate for fighting chair, rocket launcher or table installations. Standard cockpit equipment includes flush-mounted rod holders; a side locker for gaffs; a walk-through transom door with lift gate; rounded coamings and toekick space for comfort and balance; and fresh and seawater wash downs.

A comfortable place to take in the action without interfering with the anglers, the observation mezzanine has Sunbrella covered cushions with an armrest that holds a pair of drink holders. The port-side seating has an underneath freezer with cooler space on the step below. The centerline seating provides access to the engineroom; there’s also a refrigerated drink box undermounted in the step leading to the salon. On the starboard side, you have a tackle cabinet with a push-release door and drawers, as well as an insulated storage box in the step below.

A one-piece anodized aluminum ladder leads to the flybridge. Powder-coated aluminum handrails are conveniently located above the ladder and at the helm. The flybridge’s extended overhang, closed in by an anodized aluminum aft railing, gives you extra room behind the helm and companion seats.

The flybridge features a new design for the center console walk-around helm, with a more radiused shape that gives it a sleek look but also maximizes space. A stainless steel steering wheel and single-lever controls are mounted on a raised teak helm pod. Dual recessed radio boxes with standard hinged split lids flank the wheel. Recessed electronics are installed in the upper console, easily viewable and protected from the elements by acrylic fitted lids with gaskets and stainless steel gas pistons.

Atlantic Marine Electronics and Palm Beach Towers, both Viking subsidiaries, provide custom electronics and tower installations. An optional powered drop-down hardtop box can hold even more electronics.

Guests have their choice of port and starboard lounges, a two-person forward console seat and an aft-facing jump seat on the starboard side. A freezer and a refrigerated drink box are conveniently located in the port and starboard forward corners. A Costa Clear enclosure provides weather protection and gin-clear views.

Salon, Galley & Dinette

Step inside the salon and you immediately notice the spaciousness of the layout. Air conditioning registers are concealed behind the valances to reduce noise and drafts, while enhancing air flow.

High-gloss teak or walnut are offered for the 58 C’s interior. A satin finish is an option. Privacy and comfort are the hallmarks of every Viking yacht interior, and the salon of the 58 Convertible brings these elements to the next level by providing three unique living and entertaining areas. After a day of patrolling the canyons for billfish and tuna, the port-side L-shaped lounge (with underneath storage), which faces the starboard-side HD TV that rises from the starboard-side cabinetry, is a wonderful place to relax and plan tomorrow’s adventures. A hi-lo mappa burl cocktail table is standard and adds versatility to the space.

Sub-Zero under-counter refrigeration makes it easy to make sandwiches or grab snacks while keeping an eye on the action in the cockpit through the salon’s aft window. The galley counters and raised bar are topped with engineered stone that artfully complements the teak or walnut cabinetry and the Amtico flooring. The stainless-steel sink, microwave/convection oven and four-burner electric cooktop are nested for convenience and practicality. Storage is abundant throughout, and when it’s time to sit down for meals or to relax, the bar stools and starboard-side dinette accommodate a crowd with ease.

Accommodations

The three-stateroom, two-head layout offers maximum flexibility for cruising as well as campaigning on the tournament trail. Air conditioning with reverse cycle heat and temperature control; wall-to-wall carpeting, overhead LED lights; decorative under-bed rope lighting; Handcraft innerspring mattresses with quilted designer bed spreads; and recessed stereo speakers are some of the comforts and conveniences found in all three staterooms.

As you would expect from Viking, the master suite is especially spacious and elegant with an athwartship queen walk-around bed and upholstered headboard that faces an HD TV mounted on the inboard bulkhead. Storage includes a credenza, drawers under the bed, end tables, and his and her maple-lined hanging lockers.

The forward guest stateroom comes with either a single walkaround queen or crossover berths. An overhead Bomar foredeck hatch comes with the Ocean Air screen shade system. Rounding out the amenities are a spacious maple-lined hanging locker, reading lights, rope lighting behind the valances, and storage drawers and cabinets.

In the starboard stateroom, you have side-by-side bunks, a maple-lined hanging locker with drawer storage underneath. An optional HD TV can be installed in both guest suites.

The master and guest heads feature Amtico flooring, electric heads, engineered stone countertops and satin nickel hardware. There’s storage in the lower vanity, and the upper vanity includes a mirrored medicine cabinet with doors. The beautifully finished enclosed showers also have satin nickel fixtures and are equipped with a drain that leads to an automatic sump pump in the bilge.

Construction

Our building materials and methods maximize strength in an efficient build that reduces weight wherever possible. Our shipwrights use a modified epoxy resin in the hull skin. The hull is built with resin-infused end-grain balsa core, sandwiched with fiberglass and hybrid carbon-fiberglass fabrics. The integral fiberglass fuel and holding tanks are also resin infused with balsa coring on all

sides for stiffness. The main and intermediate engineroom bulkheads

and the forward bulkheads are built in the same resin-infused process but with composite coring material.

Propulsion & Engineroom

A pair of MAN V12 1400CRM (1400 MHP) engines serve as the standard propulsion package. MAN V12 1550CRM (1550 MHP) and MAN V12 1900CRM (1900 MHP) engines as well as the new MTU 10V2000 M96L (1622 MHP) engines are optional. With the MTUs, the Viking 58 Convertible hits 42 knots at the top end and cruises at 36 knots, depending upon load, sea, hull bottom, propeller conditions and ambient temperatures. Range exceeds 400 nautical miles at cruise speed.

The 58 C maintains Viking’s reputation for engineroom excellence with top-shelf machinery and industry-leading design and engineering. Systems include Delta-T ventilation and water suppression; automatically or manually operated fire suppression tied into the main engine and generator ignitions; integrated engine mounting for efficient transfer of energy to the drive train; and oil changing. Of course, all of these systems are mounted with superb precision and attention to detail in an immaculate engineroom painted with Snow White Awlgrip for visibility and ease of maintenance.

All Kraken's comprise of a one piece hull and integral Zero Keel which houses a sealed lead ballast bulb.

The hull lay up is built using 20-25 layers of composite engineered fabrics bonded together by vinyl-ester resins.

The general hull thickness is a minimum of 18mm.

Aramid fibre composites (Kevlar) is also used in all impact areas, the bow stem, the front of the keel and the keel base.

The hull topsides incorporate 25mm closed cell foam, the FRP foam sandwich which extends from 45cm (18") above the waterline to deck level. This structure improves insulation and overall hull form rigidity.

A Kraken's hull and structures exhibited no flexing.

The rudder and steering system is the most vulnerable element of any yacht, in recognition of this, the Kraken engineering and design team have developed the world's safest rudder and steering system.

The rudder is fully protected and supported by a full length skeg with an integral stainless steel beam, which has at its foot the first rudder bearing. The 3.5" (90mm) rudder stock has a second (main) bearing at its centre as it passes into the hull at the transom. This bearing is accessible and removable from the inside of transom. Even at sea!

The rudder stock has a removable third bearing at the top inside the stern lazarette. The rudder itself comprises an integral stainless steel armature, which is welded to the stainless steel rudder stock. It is then finished and faired using FRP/vinyl-ester.

A heavily reinforced ‘solid crash zone’ below the anchor chain locker, incorporating high density closed cell foam with substantial reinforcements in aramid fibres extends from above the waterline to 50cm below it. This solid area runs through to the first sealed bulkhead providing maximum collision protection.

https://krakenyachts.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Kraken-Structure-Animation.mp4

All longitudinal and latitudinal structures are individually bonded in during the hull layup stages with no prefabricated structural components . The video below explains how the structural frames and stringers work on a Kraken Yacht.

All bulkheads are vacuum infused FRP with 25mm structural foam core. No plywood is used. There are two watertight sealed bulkheads forward, one between the anchor locker and the forward lazarette and a second one between the forward lazarette and the interior. A further watertight, sealed bulkhead at the stern divides the interior from the aft lazarette.

The structural bulkheads are fully bonded into the hull stringers & frames.

The deck is vacuum infused FRP using composite fibres and vinyl-ester resin with a structural foam core. This provides high levels of rigidity and insulation.

The deck structure is single-skin FRP around the base of all deck fittings.

The outside finish of the deck is panelled non-slip gelcoat with Flexiteek side decks and cockpit sole as standard.

58 foot catamaran

All Kraken have an Integral moulded safety bulwark with concave internal surface for superior deck safety at sea.

58 foot catamaran

Ultra-high impact-resistant laminated glass is used in the wrap-around saloon windows and port lights so that accidental damage will not result in water ingress to the interior.

58 foot catamaran

Standard hull gelcoat colour is Signal White. Many colour options available at owners choice.

Double line boot top in Alwgrip to owners colour choice.

3 x coats of primer and sealer applied below the waterline before standard antifoul in dark grey, other colour choices available.

58 foot catamaran

All Kraken's are designed and built to exceed ISO CE RCD Category ‘A’ -  or to ABYC standard or other local area equivalent at owners request.

Captain: Casey Laaro

Captain Casey As a prior captain of historic sailing vessels, Casey brings a wealth of maritime history and a unique perspective to your cruising experience. Casey’s passion for boating began as a young student participating in a sail training program aboard the 137ft sailing vessel Denis Sullivan of his hometown, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Growing from that exposure, Casey has since enjoyed 11 years of magnificent tall ship sailing, traversing the East and West coasts of the U.S., as well as 4 of the 5 Great Lakes, and the Caribbean. While aboard tall ships, Casey has cultivated a love of sharing exceptional sailing adventures with his guests. He also enjoys a broad appreciation for various cultures, experiences, and cuisines, and is not afraid of showing his culinary enthusiasm in the galley as well. Whether he is firing off a 50 pound cannon during a historic reenactment, or a flame grilled captain’s burger for your charter, Casey is sure to make a booming impact on your trip. With his 100ton USCG license, STCW certificate, and copious offshore sailing experience, Casey is ready to show your company all the relaxation and excitement of a sailing vacation in the beautiful USVIs. He and his new wife, Angela look forward to providing your group with a sailing experience to touch your soul, just as the sea has touched theirs. Chef Angela Angela started her life's journey on the Chesapeake Bay, crabbing and oystering with her grandfather. She then found true love in the sea and her partner, Casey, through a career on tall ships. From guiding students through the act of sailing a 200 year old vessel, to dishing up a hearty and delicious offshore meal, she has found joy in every aspect of a water based lifestyle. Her nautical culinary voyage has taken her from cooking in the beautiful Nantucket Sound, to shaking up a delicious Caribbean Hurricane Cocktail on Lake Erie. With a familial background in local agriculture, in addition to water keeping, Angela enjoys incorporating local fresh produce into her creations. She finds herself browsing farmers’ markets wherever she goes, and appreciates the variety of bright colors and flavors brought forth by the freshest ingredients. Angela and Casey met each other six years ago aboard the 122ft sailing vessel Lynx and have become an un-sinkable team since. They are both USCG certified 100 ton Captains with sailing endorsements. As such, they each take part in the responsibilities of both sailing and cooking up magnificent fare on the vessel. While Angela takes the helm of the galley most often, she is not afraid to take the helm of the boat for an adventurous spin. This dynamic couple greatly enjoys sharing their fantastic sea stories, and looks forward to inviting you aboard to cultivate memories of your own!

***SKiPPER Capt. Devon Wishart Being from Cape Town, South Africa, the ocean has always been something I have been drawn to. With a year living on board a vessel and traveling the Caribbean, and two Atlantic crossings under the belt; I knew sailing had to be my career choice, and that is when I found the British Virgin Islands. After spending over eight years in the BVI, I now consider this beautiful sanctuary home. I have operated small monohulls to large catamarans, and feel so privileged to show guests why I fell in love with these islands and how they are truly nature’s little secret. ***THE CHEF Jessica LaRue I left Texas to acquire my captain’s license in Cape Town about ten years ago. I then sailed and dived around the South Pacific for a few years. I have been working in the Caribbean for 7 years now and have developed a passion for every aspect of my job, especially the culinary side of it. I love catering to different palettes and especially enjoy giving my guests not only a delicious meal but also an unforgettable experience! ***Mate/Stewardess Lindi Van Rensberg Growing up in South Africa, I was surrounded with the bushveld and wild animals creating a great love for nature and all that entails. Having a great love and passion for the ocean specifically, I took a big leap of faith and started working on The Annex. I absolutely love entertaining and making people happy with good conversation and a cocktail… or 3. Meeting new people and getting to know my guests is definitely my favourite part of the job.

Our trip on the Annex more than exceeded our expectations. Captain Devon planned a perfect itinerary based on our preference sheet and made slight modifications after in person discussions for the final days. Chef Jess was fabulous and accommodated our dietary preferences serving wonderful meals and snacks. Our favorite was Tex-Mex night reflecting her Texas roots. Our stew Lindy was present enough to take great care of us but allowed for private time as well. She has a great sense of humor and fun to chat with.

Early February, 2020, guests aboard THE ANNEX wrote…

We all had such a wonderful time. The Crew; Nicolas, Oliver, Roma and Gema treated us like royalty. They actually became part of our group. We were pampered from start to finish. Nicola and Oliver charted a course where we could see and do a lot of things. They found us private coves for water sports, paddle boarding, snorkeling, swimming, floating and water skiing. Your generosity of providing ´Lemon Head´ for our use was spot on. I don’t know how we would have done this without her! It even provided some with an important fishing excursion. Roma is an excellent cook with delicious meals and even catered to Bill & Pat on their 46th wedding anniversary. She is an amazing cook and we looked forward to each meal and our happy hour hors d´oeuvres! Even when we didn´t eat on board, Roma arranged meals on land, a place to watch the Superbowl and have a lobster dinner. I´m sure we all put on a few pounds. Gema, Miss full of energy and spunk, made sure we were very comfortable in our cabins and catered to us the entire time. Roma and Gema even provided signature drinks during our trip. Meals were EXCELLENT, fresh and beautifully presented. Roma and crew knew our preference sheet and provided alternative meal for a member that did not like fish. They even had a special dinner to celebrate members 46th anniversary. Captain and crew made things easy. They were very knowledgeable of the area, and bent over backwards to meet our needs. you would have never known this was the first time they all worked together on the Annex. Everything was spot on !Everything exceeded my expectations. The Captain and the crew made this trip a trip of a lifetime! I would highly recommend Nicolas, Olivier, Gema and Roma Yacht was beautiful and more spacious than we thought. Yes there was plenty of shade with the 3rd level providing great views. Cabins were maintained daily and sheets/towels midweek. Lovely indoor and outdoor areas. It was great having the bigger boat (´Lemon Head´)... She was able to accommodate all 10 of us and the crew.

The 8th of February guests aboard THE ANNEX said:

This was the most amazing trip ever. The crew made all attempts to make this an amazing adventure. Nothing was to much trouble for Captain Nicolai, Captain Oliver, First mate Gemma and Chef Roma. We were a group of 10 and we all had the same opinion. Our travel to the different ports were very interesting and enjoyable. The meals were so delicious. Chef Roma went above and beyond to prepare the meals. I can’t say enough about this wonderful trip.

Magnificent! Absolutely flawlessin every way! I will remember the gourmet meals so perfectly presented in hopes I may become inspired to upgrade my own offerings! Thankyou so very much for making my BVI trip so special and memorable. Susie, Gladie and Ray

Better Sailing

Best Catamarans Over 50 Feet

Best Catamarans Over 50 Feet

All kinds of high-end luxury sailing you could ever imagine can be experienced on Catamarans Over 50 Feet. It just depends on the boat at hand. Why spend your holiday cruising or liveaboard on a monohull when comfortable catamarans exist?

A catamaran is quite different from a regular monohull. Catamarans are typically designed with two equal-sized hulls and derive their stability from their wide beam; unlike a one-hulled boat deriving stability from a loaded undersurface.

The average catamaran is 38-47 feet in size. Usually, they are equipped with four large cabins with double or queen-sized beds, each cabin having an in-suite head. These vessels, originally designed for fishing, have, over the years, evolved and have become very popular in recent years. Lately, many boatbuilders are focusing more and more on building large catamarans over 50 feet as more and more people are starting to liveaboard and put more emphasis on comfort and luxury than their sailing performance.

In 2011, the biggest catamaran ever was built by Pendennis Shipyard in the UK, at 145 feet in length! It is equipped with a trampoline, a jacuzzi and can accommodate 12 guests in 5 cabins. This boat is designed to accommodate all the luxuries and adornments that can be found on a watercraft.

Here are the best sailing catamarans over 50 feet, in no particular order.

Length: 50 Feet

Price: From $500k to $1.5 Million USD On the Used Market

Back in 2019, the Lagoon 50 was awarded the best multihull of Sail Magazine. A product of the world’s largest boat manufacturer Lagoon, established in 1984, is majorly famous for the design and construction of cruising catamarans, which infuse top-notch designs, upscale comfort, and great sailing performances to one’s boating experience. Every detail is carefully thought out to establish novel and spacious architecture with a homely ambiance.

It’s a perfect balance between the model Lagoon 450 and the lofty 52. The Lagoon 50 has an encompassing view, generous volumes with a self-tacking jib, and a shorter mast for easily simplified maneuvers. It has two cockpits, one large one facing the sea and the other for seating at foredeck or on a deck chair. The hulls being large enough to contain more than 2 cabins, you can have up to six cabins. Italian agency Nauto Design Studio set a standard for their innovative interior designs every time. This vessel boasts of a unique brand signature, providing increased performance and a detailed wood finish to be fitted for the owner. Unconventional lines are linked with luxury, versatility, and a layout of technical options to cater to everyone’s needs.

Length: 52 Feet

Looking for something contemporary and luxurious? Lagoon 52 takes the cake in that way. This boat signified a new stage in the design of cruising catamarans. The Lagoon 52 is a product of the prolonged conversations between Lagoon’s customary VPLP, Nauto design agency, and the Lagoon design department. It comes in two versions: The Lagoon 52 FlyBridge, known as Lagoon 52F, and Lagoon 52 SporTop.

The combination of onboard comfort with its sailing performance is perfect and in sync. The wide side decks allow easy movement onboard. The cockpit and saloon also offer spacious living areas. The vertical bows of the boat have a diamond-shaped appearance with diagonal shaped hull and a lifting deck house.

The boat is easily accessible and safe thanks to the open rear skirts. Most of the features in this luxurious watercraft can be found in the aforementioned Lagoon 50. It has a perfect blend for its easy use, a comfy, elegant interior, amazing space, and lighting. You’re sure to get your money’s worth with the LAGOON 52.

Lagoon 52

Privilege Series 5

Price: Around $1-1.5 Million USD

At 50 feet, this boat is quite marvelous and a privilege to spend your time in as a cruiser or owner. The Privilège Series 5 is the world’s first 50 feet sailing catamaran. This vessel was built by Privilège Marine, a French company based in Les Sables-d’Olonne, France. They are famous for building premium luxury catamarans and designed by French Naval Architect Marc Lombard. The Privilège Series 5 is equipped with three or four double and a full-sized owner’s cabin located in the yacht’s center. It’s a lightweight boat at 48500 pounds and could go up to 52900 depending on the size.

It has great customization options, and it can be designed to suit the boat owner’s taste. The attention to detail on the boat is nothing short of perfection as the interior design, woodwork, safety measurements laid out by the boat’s design, aesthetics, ventilation, etc., was thought out good. The vessel’s finishing is really phenomenal as everything has a high level of craftsmanship.

Privilege Series 5

Leopard 50L

Length: 50 Ft 6 In

Price: Around $1 Million USD

The Leopard 48, which was launched in 2012, was one of the most popular cruising cats ever designed. But the design was beginning to become dated, even as new orders kept coming in. So, Robertson & Caine, who build the Leopard cats, set out to improve on what was already great. The new 50 was their answer and comes with many innovations that will make owners happy. We test sailed the 50L last winter in Florida. The L version has the optional lounge on top of the hardtop over the cockpit. Unlike some cats with flying bridges and lounges up high, the 50L doesn’t feel like a layer wedding cake.

The steering station is a traditional raised helm to starboard, and the lounge is just up a few stairs from there. The helmsman is in contact with those in the main cockpit and those in the lounge. Out sailing, we got the 50L up to 10 knots in a good breeze, so the boat is fast. It is also commodious and will make a very comfortable home for a family or a charter party.

Length: 58 Feet

Price: From $450k To $1.5 Million on the Used Market

Leopard 58 is a superb layout from Leopard, skilfully modeled by award-winning designers Robertson & Caine. This extravagant catamaran is suited to the prolific and innovative catamarans that have made Leopard famous while still giving out fresh features and various design options.

This expansive FlyBridge takes space to a whole new dimension as it is larger than its siblings with their award-winning aspects. A Flybridge is basically a version of catamarans that affords you the luxury of outdoor space, come rain or shine. Leopard 58 is more about space, bragging about 750 square feet in just the saloon alone. It gives you amazing comfort and is naturally luminous. With an open plan layout, the galley available means the meal making and interaction will be easy. Highly recommended for a family outdoor gathering.

Like the Lagoon 52, it’s a perfect balance for onboard comfort and performance sailing and sea safety. Perfect for sailors or boat lovers who are looking for a little extra.

This catamaran sets a standard for offshore sailing because of its simple sailing methods, large open cockpit space, and twin protected helms. Equipped with a three or four-cabin design that affords the owner’s cabin expansive living space, great storage, high aspect riders, daggerboards, an elegant fit/finish, and infused carbon-reinforced construction.

Seawind 1600

Price: Around $1 Million USD New

The new Seawind 1600 has been in the works for a while and has finally arrived on the market. The Reichel Pugh design is a departure from the more conservative looks of the other Seawinds and embraces a very Euro-style with plumb bows, hard chines, a swept-back cabin, and a large open cockpit with helm stations on both sides. The boat is a pure performance cruiser that was conceived as a blue water voyaging boat for a family. At 52 feet, it falls within the size range that an experienced couple can handle, so it would make a great platform for a couple to explore the world. The 1600 like all of the Seawinds and Corsairs, are built in Vietnam.

Xquisite X5

Length: 51 Feet

Price: Around $1.5 Million USD

Once you have met your first Xquisite X5, you will never forget its absolute distinctive looks and almost space-traveling styling. The whole look of the boat, with its large reverse curving arches and cat’s eye windows, says right out loud that you need to pay attention. The boat itself is a very modern design with a classic and comfortable interior. It sails better than most of its peers in the 50-foot range and is set up cleverly so one watchstander can hand, reef, and steer all from the protected comfort of the raised steering station. Tomas and Sara, who build the boats in South Africa, are veteran cruisers and owned hull number one of the X5 line before taking over the company. Their attention to detail and the innovations they have incorporated into the boats all stem from their time living aboard and blue water sailing.

Privilege 615

Balance 526

Length: 52ft 6in

Price: From $1.3 to $1.6 Million USD New

Multihull impresario, dealer, and broker Phil Berman (The Multihull Company) has sold more multihulls over the last 30 years than just about anyone. His latest project has been the development of the Balance line of performance cruising cats. The queen of the line is the Balance 526 that was introduced a few years ago and has proven to be a very successful player in the 50-foot plus segment of the cat market. Built in South Africa by noted composite experts, the 526 offers a well-conceived combination of great sailing performance and luxury living in a boat that can be handled by an experienced couple.

The boat has plenty of innovations, among them a helm that can be tilted up so you can steer from the raised helm station or tilted down so you can steer from the protection of the cockpit. Very cool. The design does not take any particular element to the “extreme.” Instead, Berman and his crew have sought to provide a boat that is truly well balanced in all aspects. And, they’ve done it.

On the 25th anniversary of the founding of the company, Fleming Yachts were proud to announce the introduction of the all-new Fleming 58.

After extensive research and input from existing Fleming owners, we identified the need for a boat to bridge the gap between the Fleming 55 and the 65. While retaining the Fleming classic lines, the 58 is an entirely new boat designed from the keel up. The naval architects selected to assist the in-house Fleming design team were Norman Wright and Sons in Brisbane, Australia who, with their special expertise in hull design and tank testing, have been designing semi-displacement passagemakers for more than 100 years.

The latest 3D modeling and CAD software were employed during the design process and a 1/12 scale model was built and tank tested at the Australian Maritime College in Tasmania. Several load conditions were simulated at varying speeds to determine resistance, trim and other performance parameters.

Overview Continued...

The Flybridge — Familiar but with More Function

More Amenities

The larger flybridge can accommodate a top-loading freezer, a refrigerator, BBQ and a 13ft (3.9m) Tender. The double Stidd helm seat provides comfortable, adjustable seating.

A fully hydraulic 1,000 lb. Steelhead davit, with power rotation and telescopic boom makes launching and retrieving the tender an easy and safe task, even single handed.

Refined Salon and True Pilothouse with Twin Helm Seats

Among the Innovations being offered on this and all Fleming Yachts is "Burrwood" a composite substitute for teak rail capping. This fiberglass material, manufactured and installed at the yard, replicates the exact appearance of varnished teak without the need for continual varnishing.

Anchor Platform accommodates dual Maxwell RC12 vertical windlasses to handle the 100 lb (45 Kg) stainless steel Ultra anchor and 7/16" Grade-60 stainless steel chain.

Easy Boarding is retained through the wide side deck boarding gates. Port and starboard gates through the Portuguese Bridge lead to the foredeck.

Large Access Hatch into the engine room is just aft of the salon doors.

More Space - The wider pilothouse, has space for twin Stidd helm seats.

Traditional Layout - The "Flow" of the Fleming

The 58 employs much of the same technology used in the Fleming 65 including the Fleming First Mate (FFM) ship monitoring system with two 15" color touchscreens, Hypro fly-by-wire precision power steering, and Seatorque's enclosed shaft system.

Placement of air-conditioning compressors and watermaker are all located in the expanded engine room - leaving the lazarette clear for storage.

Significantly more headroom in the engine room and more space forward and outboard of the engines. The standard engines on the Fleming 58 are the MAN i6-800.

Pilothouse with Enough Space for Twin Helm Seats and a Day-Head

The Fleming 58 provides an ideal intermediate size between the existing F55 and F65, and is easily operated by a couple.

The Cockpit is capacious - larger than the Fleming 55 by 25 sq. ft. (2.3 sq. meters). The built-in cabinets either side of the salon aft doors provide for a variety of options including a fridge/freezer, sink, and an aft control station

Two inward opening gates on either side of the Fleming 58 make boarding easy and safe.

A Built-in settee or matching barrel chairs provide additional seating in the salon, the extra beam of the Fleming 58 is most noticeable in the Salon & Pilothouse.

The Convenience of a Day-Head.

Lockers on either side of the anchor platform and storage bins in the cabin trunk provide stowage for lines and fenders.

The New Full Beam Master Cabin

New Layout - The Fleming 58 offers a variety of accommodation layouts, including a full beam, master cabin with access from the pilothouse.

Engine Room

Standard Power is a pair of MAN i6-800 engines. Standard equipment is the very efficient Seatorque shaft system which transfers thrust from the propellers directly to the hull structure and eliminates the need for cutless bearings and stuffing boxes.

The Tank Tested semi-displacement hull is a modern design based on the well proven Fleming 55. A fine entry and generous flare on the bow makes for an efficient, comfortable, and safe ride.

Spacious walk-in engine room - with access to all equipment and systems.

Proud Craftsmanship and a Passion for Yacht Building.

The Fleming 58 is, of course, built at the renowned Tung Hwa yard in Southern Taiwan, where every Fleming ever built has been constructed, starting with Fleming 50 hull 001 in 1985. Tung Hwa build exclusively for Fleming and many craftsmen from the early days are still with us. They are very proud of their work and their experience, passion and skill are passed down from one generation to the next.
