DOUCE FRANCE is one of the world’s largest luxury sailing catamarans available for charter. Having completed an extended circumnavigation exploring remote locations DOUCE FRANCE is now available in Central America and the Galapagos this season. DOUCE FRANCE has the ability to sail at a constant 22 knots in a 28 knot breeze, and regularly achieves 15 knots in 20 knots of wind. Her twin diesel engines also allow her to silently cruise at up to 12 knots, with a very economical cruise speed of around 10 knots.

However speed is just one element on DOUCE FRANCE ... above all she is a cruising superyacht.  Her interior is elegant and simple with a colonial ambience created by the use of mahogany and rosewood furniture on the main deck. By contrast the staterooms are decorated in pale sycamore and all 6 conveniently convert to either double or twin rooms all with ensuites.

Charter guests have a choice of three dining areas: the spacious cockpit pleasantly shaded by the deckhouse; the more intimate lounge for the cooler evenings. or the aft teak deck for dining under the stars. The 250-bottle cave à vin of select wines will please the most discerning charter guest and compliment the flavours of cuisine.  Unique Douce France tableware from Limoges, enhances the presentation.

With cushioned seating and sunbathing mattresses, the foredeck is a prime setting to relax. Aft access to the water is particularly easy, using the folding stairway.

Luxury service: Dining on board of Douce France is trully a wonderful experience. The guests will have the chance to sample the skills of the first-class chef, who is equally at home preparing French haute cuisine as well as Asian, Japanese, Indian, Thai and Creole cuisine or very simple dishes, using fresh and always locally sourced ingredients.  Dining on Douce France is where one will appreciate the presence of French knowledge in the art of gastronomy. Masterful creations, usually taken directly fresh from the sea, are artfully presented on luxury Limoges china and are enhanced by a wine selection that is perhaps one of the most extensive offered on board of any luxury charter vessel. The guests have a choice of three dining areas including:

• The spacious cockpit pleasantly shaded by the overhang of the deckhouse
• The intimate lounge for the cooler evening or
• The aft teak deck where one can enjoy the warm breeze and dine under the starlight.

Special Services: Douce France crew has a qualified masseuse on board offering relaxing massages with a 360-degree sea view around you.  When taking this service, it is expected that yo will be able to relax so much that all you will hear is the sound of the sea and soothing words of the measseuse who will point you to change the position you are in so you can relax even more and get rid of all stress in your body.  This luxury yacht is also equiped with full diving equipment for up to 8 guests.  With a qualified instructor on board and his great experience, guests will feel safe around their instructor, while they are learning more about the fauna and flora below sea level. Big game fishing: Douce France luxury yacht also provides onboard all the necessary material for big or small game fishing. The crew will be happy to assist and instruct guests in the exciting sport of finding, hooking and reeling in one of the oceans predators. Accommodation: Douce France luxury crewed yacht was designed to accommodate 12 adults in greatest luxury, with brightly lit and air-conditioned staterooms. Each guest cabin is attractively lined with pale sycamore wood and they all have spacious en-suite shower rooms with a separate head compartment.  The large floor space at around 16m2 in size, also leaves ample room for a convertible desk / dressing table. All cabins have spacious en-suite showers and separate heads facilities.

Luxury crewed charter yacht DOUCE FRANCE is fully air conditioned throughout. This is a non-smoking vessel. DOUCE FRANCE´s experienced super yacht charter crew of up to 8 has a separate head and shower. Guests may not be allowed to bring pets on-board.

DOUCE FRANCE is a 42.2m / 138.5’ luxury sailing catamaran designed by Van Peteghem & Lauriot Prévost. She is normally cruising around the Caribbean Leeward Islands or South Pacific and is offered for luxury crewed yacht charters in many other sailing destinations worldwide. This 42.2m super yacht with a total of 206m2 mainsail area, can accommodate up to 12 guests in 6 double or twin en-suite staterooms.  She is a fast cruising, luxury sailing catamaran, cruising at speeds of around 12-15kn.

Thanks to her twin 12V Nani Dei super yacht diesel engines, she comfortably cruises at speeds of around 12kn when under motor power, while under perfect sailing conditions, she can reach speeds of above 20kn. Her best features are luxury styling, fabulous French cuisine and dining experience, unique wine cellar and choice of special sailing itineraries and yacht charter destinations.

Accommodation

Douce France sailing catamaran accommodates up to 12 adults in 6 en-suite staterooms. They can be converted into twin cabins if required. The super yacht crew of 7including the captain Eric Saint Plancat are accommodated in their own quarters.

DIVING: Douce France is equipped with all the necessary gear for any guest to dive into the crystal clear blue water. The onboard personal diving instructor will guide the guests into the tropical reefs and all nearby diving spots. Eight (8) full sets of diving gear are at the charterer’s disposal.

• Scuba Diving with 8 FULL SETS including Tanks and Air Compressor
• There is also a personal diving instructor on board who can also offer official certification if required.

Presented by DMA Yachting, the majestic charter yacht DOUCE FRANCE is a 138.42 ft sailing catamaran. DOUCE FRANCE spends the summer season in Greece. She was completed by recognized shipbuilder ALU MARINE in 1998. A well-done refit was finalized in 2009 & 2016. The well-planned yacht layout features 6 large cabins and comfortably accommodates a group of 12 guests.

DOUCE FRANCE is classified primarily as a sailing catamaran. The the heart of the yacht is the main saloon, which connects to the aft deck. The aft deck is expansive, with a comfortable dining and seating area and that's where most of the delicious meals are served. The tasteful cabins offer unbeatable views in the morning and are located just below deck. The cabins are connected by stairs to the main saloon - roomy, comfortable and pleasant. Multiple portholes add to the feeling of connection with the discovered environment.

The sailboat features ENGINES: 2 x Cummins engines (305 Hp each) GENERATORS: 2 x 45 KW Northern Lights generator (plus backup generator) engines .

DOUCE FRANCE Yacht for Charter

The 138.5-foot (42.2m) DOUCE FRANCE was built by Alumarine in 1998. The yard combined its talents with interior designer Anne Marie Bonadeli and together they created an exceptional yacht that won the heart of the global charter yacht world.

This aluminum multihull yacht welcomes up to 12 guests to sleep in six staterooms. She is ideal for fun family charters or groups of friends wanting to explore the world afloat and she offers some truly spectacular charter destinations. Cruising at 11 knots, with a maximum of 12 knots thanks to twin Cummins engines, she has a range of 3,000 nautical miles. As well as regular charters she is available for regattas, day charters, night cruising and event charters.

DOUCE FRANCE is the perfect yacht to escort guests to truly incredible cruising grounds. These include Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands and French Polynesia. She also has water scooters and tenders for trips ashore. Douce France Catamaran – The Exquisite Yacht!

Designed by Van Peteghem Lauriot Prevost (VPLP) and built by Alumarine, Douce France catamaran is a massive 138-feet luxury multihull that is made for the most discerning coastline explorer.

Secretly referred to as the gentle giant’, the catamaran oozes a seductive sleekness, comfort, and sophistication, both on the interior and exterior. These qualities are paired with ample space, superb cleanliness and friendly crew to make life aboard this vessel truly rewarding.

The vessel was built in 1998 and refitted in 2015 and conforms to all the laid out maritime requirements. Hence it is safe and in good condition to sail anywhere at sea. Aside from her luxurious demeanor, there is more she has to offer regarding onboard amenities and general performance.

Accommodation

Douce France can accommodate up to a total of 12 guests in its six well-appointed staterooms. They include a master suite, one double cabin, 1 VIP stateroom, and three twin cabins. Each of the rooms is elegantly finished with pale sycamore wood and features chic linen that makes a perfect place for rest after a somewhat tiring day. The cat is also capable of accommodating up to 7 crew members, who are in charge of the entire sailing experience at sea.

Each stateroom measures 50 square feet and offers two options: a twin single bed or queen double arrangement. Even with that, there is still enough space left for either a convertible desk or dressing table. Further, every accommodation unit boasts of an en-suite shower, complete with a separate head compartment for added convenience.

Douce France’s interior is quite simple and elegant but comes with a striking colonial ambiance as highlighted by the rosewood and mahogany furniture, particularly on the main deck.

The vessel’s main lounge is as cozy as ever, with the windows on the main deckhouse providing unobstructed 360-degree panoramic views for guests.

There’s also a 250-bottle wine cellar within the cat’s interior that comes with a vast selection of world-famous wines that can go along well with the cuisine. Living aboard Douce France can just never get boring with such beautiful furnishings and wonderful amenities on the vessel’s interior.

Furnished with cushioned seating and sunbathing mattresses, the vessel’s foredeck sets the stage for a relaxing and care-free holiday. The catamaran’s trampolines are very spacious and close to the deck edge, giving you a one-of-a-kind opportunity to sprawl out and experience firsthand the water sprays even as the vessel cruises on.

The cockpit, on the other hand, is spacious and pleasantly shaded, rendering it a perfect place to rest or dine.

Douce France’s aft teak deck makes a lovely sunbathing area whilst leaving some ample space where charter guests can enjoy dining under the stars, especially during summer. And with the folding stairway on the aft, you can enjoy convenient access into and out of the water.

Entertainment

The luxury Douce France cat comes with a great selection of entertainment facilities on board, which you as a guest can make good use of. There is a wet bar with an icemaker onboard, where you can request for different cocktails and alcoholic drinks to make the holiday tick as you cruise along.

Also available onboard is BBQ that provides amazing opportunities to enjoy meat bites that are delicious to the core. Both the cabin and cockpit come with music Stereo and CD player with speakers, something that provides excellent electronic entertainment on board.

The main Salon, on the other hand, is fitted with a TV and stereo while each cabin is furnished with a DVD & VCR plus a CD player. Also, the cat comes with a sailing Bimini, sun floats, cockpit cushions and 12 Table Seats for dining on the deck, all that makes life easy on the deck.

Communication while on the cat is as convenient as ever, all thanks to the superb Wi-Fi connection plus the cellular phone and Fax & Email provided onboard.

Performance

Douce France is capable of sailing at a constant speed of 19 knots when the breeze is blowing at 28 knots. In fact, the cat regularly achieves 15 knots when the wind speed is 20 knots.

Her powerful twin diesel engines can also allow her to cruise under power at up to 12 knots comfortably. If you want fuel consumption to be economical though, the ideal cruise speed would be 10 knots.

Where Does It Sail?

Douce France in its glamour can sail nearly any part of the world. However, during winter the vessel sails the Indian Ocean region and South East (SE) Asia. The catamaran also operates in the same areas in summer, so the opportunities to explore the amazing coastlines of these locations remain abundant.

As a fellow child of the ocean and growing up around sail boats all my life, schooners and other sail boats have always held a special appeal. As a veteran  of many a cruise liner, I have often seen sail boats being advertised as an alternative to mainstream cruising. What sort of premium does one need to factor in for such an exclusive option as its clear from the article that there are not many berths available on board?

Thank you Daniella, no, I have not yet chartered the “douce France”. Reading your post certainly makes me want to charter it. I love it’s interior entertainment and decoration. I also like the BBQ and other activities that could be done on the deck, it’s a mini cruise ship with so much privacy.
