A pillar of the Landyachtz DH line for nearly two decades, the Evo has been under the feet of World Champions, countless race winners and podium contenders. The Evo 36 is the more compact of our two Evo shapes at 36" long by 9.5" wide and pressed with 9 plies of high-quality Canadian maple. The Evo comes with 40 degree, 155mm Gen 6 reverse kingpin trucks. The narrow, 155mm hanger gives you a defined hookup from drifts and more control over your steering. This year we set up the Evo with 72mm, 78a Plow Kings, which are stone ground to give you a confident slide right out of the box, have superb roll speed for those long commutes, and come with a wide contact patch for more confidence in the corners.

The Evo 36 is a classic example of a downhill board design, and the concept continues to be effective to this day. Also wonderful for long cruises, it has a stiff construction for better downhill performance. A lowered platform and directional wedging of the truck mounting areas work to give you a super stable ride. Front-loaded steering makes it very easy to predict what the board is going to do next when cornering. The 36 offers more grip in the corners and a much more agile, responsive ride compared to the 40. The tighter packaging and added grip bring it more in line with the demanding nature of modern DH racing without sacrificing its championship winning DNA or legendary stability.

We’ve categorized the stiffness of our boards into 3 main groups, listed below.  The general rule is the faster you’re skating, the stiffer the deck, but this is not universal.

Flexy – Soft and supple flex profile best suited for carving and cruising on longer boards. The bouncy nature of these decks lets you turn deeper and surf your surrounds.

Medium – The do it all of our boards, a perfect balance of stability and carve. 

Stiff – From cruisers to downhill boards a stiff flex profile excels in stability and responsiveness.  Whether you’re dipping into driveways or bombing a mountain pass you’ll be down with the stiffness.

If you've never ridden or owned one of these things you're slacking. The Landyachtz Evo is quite possibly the most famous and renowned longboard of all time. It is FRIGGIN' stable yo. If all you want to do is go stupidly fast and make your friends uncomfortable watching you skate, this is YOUR board.

With a 2 inch dropped platform, a 9° wedge in the front and 9° de-wedge in the back, 11 plies of maple and radial concave in the center, you can rest assured that you won't get speed wobbles.

That sweet, sweet low center of gravity gives you deliciously predictable drifts. There really isn't another longboard deck like the Evo.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should i buy the landyachtz evo or switchblade.

The Evo is more downhill oriented while the Switchblade is more freeride oriented. What does this mean? Well, it means if you have hot nasty bada$$ speed, you should get the Evo. If you want to do sick carves and slides, you should get the Switchblade.

Is the Landyachtz Evo good for downhill?

Um hello, duh. The Evo came out of Landyachtz womb going downhill. It's exceptionally good at going fast and staying stable.

Words we have heard to describe the Evo include, but not limited to: Tank, Beast, DH Shred Sled, Speed Machine, and Widow Maker.

Is the Landyachtz Evo good for long distance skateboarding?

It can be, but it is pretty heavy. Just be ready for it. However, it's super low to the ground, making pushing easy peazy lemon squeezy.

The Sleeper: Landyachtz Evo

So I have a friend who fell in love eectric skateboards not too long ago, so I built this stable board for him, he didnt have much money ATM so I tried to keep it as low as possible, but he plans to upgrade some parts when money is available in the future

Here are some pictures, hope you like them:

I started by sporwelding the 30Q with double nickel strips from Battery Supports, pretty good strips there:

Then I used fish paper to avoid rubbing and possible future shorts between group of cells and between each row, I used 10AWG wire to connect the group of cells and avoid strips breaking due vibrations

I made my own motor mounts on a local lathe, they were a bit expensive but it was fast as my friend couldn’t wait any longer, he eager to get on and ride it.

I made a cutout for the battery capacity tester, it fit pretty nice and the green background matched the wheels nicely

F@ck the grub screws and keyways, I had so many issues in the past with them. Loctite forever

Here is the finished board:

As you can see the ground clearance was not very good and the motors touch the enclosure on full leans, so I’m gonna install some risers on Monday.

I’m charging it at the moment:

Dude the build looks great. Don’t worry a riser won’t change it to much as it is a.significant drop on the deck… I run a 3/8"

That’s a thick riser, I’ll try to find something like that

This makes me laugh…I just finished building my brother an Evo with TB 218s, popacas, 10s4p & dual FocBoxes. Looks very similar.

This almost the new standard for starter/reliable boards.

It’s honestly a good deck… Lots of space for a huge battery if you want it… Stiff, dropped, w concave with the rear drop for acceleration footing. Little low on anything smaller then 107s… But big enough cutouts for pneumatics if you did want them…

I don’t recommend. I use 243 and that is sometimes pain in the ass to remove even i use torch to heat up locktite.
