We were afraid that the crowd might be pretentious but most of the patrons seemed quite nice. The atmosphere along the river was great on a summer evening. We were disappointed, though, when, after paying a cover charge to eat dinner, the band took a... 40 minute break 4 songs after we arrived. It was early in the evening so that was a bit excessive. When we asked to see the manager to see if they might be coming back, the staff just looked at us almost as if to suggest we not involve him. We later learned why. If you go I hope you don't have a problem because this guy is NOT interested. Total jerk would be an understatement. If you go enjoy the view, pity the staff,and tip their hard and work well. More

I was here for a bowling banquet and had ordered the stuffed chicken breast as did my sister. Both of ours were raw in the center. We sent it back and they brought us chicken sandwiches with french fries instead. The manager was very snobby... about the whole ordeal. More

Went there with friends for drinks and band. They had a great DJ and quite a few people dancing on the floor. Outside patio was nice with cool breeze , overlooking the marina boats and river. Good food and drinks and great music for a... Saturday. More

I dont think they want your business at least the owner seems to care less. Do yourself a favor pick someplace else to patronize Owner and son have never heard about the "customer being right" . Got told that ... we didn't order correctly from... Mike, because we got 10 wings and they charged us for 2 orders of 5 which cost more. Well excuse the customer from picking the incorrect quantity of wings. Very Rude to us. Will never go back. Suggest you dont either.... The food was fine, but the attitude of the owners was terrible. My husband, 10 month old and I were looking for a place to have dinner outside on the river on a beautiful Friday evening. We came across the listing for the Baja Grill and thought that it was right up our ally! We arrived around... 8:00 and asked for a table outside on the deck. The waitress had us pick any table and brought a highchair over to us. A table close to us had two small kids as well. We ordered pretty quickly, easy and simple fare. A chicken quesadilla, shrimp wrap and a side salad. 45 minutes of waiting and our waitress returned to tell us that the kitchen was swamped and our food was almost ready. What she really should have said is she completely forgot to put in our order because it took another 15 minutes to arrive. Not 5 minutes into us eating one of the waitresses came over and said to us, "I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but kids are not allowed here after 7:30". We were not even finished eating!! The table with kids right next to us had just finished and were just leaving (past curfew as well I guess). So first of all we had been seated with a high chair after our cutoff hour (by a member of their staff I would think?!) and then we could have been long gone if our bar food hadn't taken an hour to be delivered. I'm not sure if she wanted us to ask for a box or what, but it was absolutely ridiculous! I will never give them service or recommend them to anyone! Nice view but horrible service, mediocre food at best and rude wait staff. Sheesh louise! More

We visited this marina and rented stand up paddle boards for a leisurely float off the marina and around 9 mile island. After our enjoyable experience, we had lunch at the restaurant, then walking along the docks. Everything was very clean and well maintained and... I wouldn't hesitate having a slip at this very friendly location. More

Stumbled on the Baja Bar by chance when looking for a restaurant with outside seating on a Sunday afternoon. There was a small sign indicating a restaurant; we followed a dark hallway into an almost vacant restaurant. There was a bartender and a few people... at the bar - no one acknowledged us so we walked outside to an outside restaurant & bar. The atmosphere is great because it's at the yacht club and on the water. Our server was adequate, the food fair, the frozen drink served in a small plastic cup diluted with ice for $6.50. Some of the food was served with paper plates and plastic silverware. This restaurant has a great potential, but the lack of interest by the staff and the quality of the food doesn't encourage a rush to return. There was a band that played from 2-6pm which was entertaining. Would recommend if you're looking for a place to enjoy the water. Definitely an older crowd. More

Part of a boat dock and swiming pool complex. Menu is okay, some fish some salads burgers etc. Perhaps biggest draw is adult (40+) crowd at teh bar on weekends.

We had appetizers and great sandwiches and watched the Steeler game at Baja Bar and Grill (Fox Chapel Yacht Club). Establishment sits right along the Allegheny River which gives a super atmosphere (it is a smoking facility though). Food prices were reasonable and our service... was excellent (thanks Dana!). Had a couple mixed drinks and they were nice and strong! They also have outdoor seating but it was too cold and rainy to sit outside when we were there. It's tricky to find but once we found it we were happy! More

My wife, another couple and I stopped at the Baja Grill Saturday night 3/6/2021 to support our local business. We thought we would stop for an after dinner drink since we just had dinner. There was not a single person there. When the bartender came... over he said we had to order an appetizer or meal in order to have drinks . We ordered drinks. When he came back we tried to order an appetizer for the table since we all already had dinner. Now he said we all had to order an appetizer. When we tried to order french fries he said we couldn't but fried pickles were ok .What is the difference between a fried potato and a fried pickle? Oh that's right $5.00 more for the pickles. It wasn't about having food on the table. It was about forcing customer to order more expensive food. We did not even eat them. We ask to speak to the manager, he was rude as well. We are regular customers that support them every weekend when there is entertainment. The manager said it was a Pa mandate which is not true. Then he said it was house rules. we go out 3-4 times a week to different restaurants and not one says we all have to order separate meals or appetizers as long is there is some sort of food on the table. So instead of our bill being $18.00 for drinks it was $40.00. We will never go back and I hope they realize they lost some very good customers. We will spread the word to others who also go there. They should appreciate any customers coming in to support them . While we were there 2 girls came in for drinks and immediately left without ordering anything. STEER CLEAR OF THIS PLACE!!! THEY DO NOT UNDERSATND WHAT CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ALL ABOUT!! More

When ording a rueben it came with ham. I ask if there was a mix up and was told they never use kosher corn beef. And way too over priced for the quality.

Great place to be in the summertime with outdoor seating and outdoor under cover bar area. Great bands. Good bar food and Jules was our excellent server.

This is in my neighborhood. We LOVE it here! We like to go and have a turkey burger and fries, and watch the people on the water. They have live music in the summer and great atmosphere. Come on and check them out!

we had our boat here and spent some time on the property. the food is not good and the entertainment is OKAY the prices aren't bad for drinks. much better places to hang out. also a bit of an older crowd ..like over 50.

We were afraid that the crowd might be pretentious but most of the patrons seemed quite nice. The atmosphere along the river was great on a summer evening. We were disappointed, though, when, after paying a cover charge to eat dinner, the band took a... 40 minute break 4 songs after we arrived. It was early in the evening so that was a bit excessive. When we asked to see the manager to see if they might be coming back, the staff just looked at us almost as if to suggest we not involve him. We later learned why. If you go I hope you don't have a problem because this guy is NOT interested. Total jerk would be an understatement. If you go enjoy the view, pity the staff,and tip their hard and work well. More

I was here for a bowling banquet and had ordered the stuffed chicken breast as did my sister. Both of ours were raw in the center. We sent it back and they brought us chicken sandwiches with french fries instead. The manager was very snobby... about the whole ordeal. More

Went there with friends for drinks and band. They had a great DJ and quite a few people dancing on the floor. Outside patio was nice with cool breeze , overlooking the marina boats and river. Good food and drinks and great music for a... Saturday. More

I dont think they want your business at least the owner seems to care less. Do yourself a favor pick someplace else to patronize Owner and son have never heard about the "customer being right" . Got told that ... we didn't order correctly from... Mike, because we got 10 wings and they charged us for 2 orders of 5 which cost more. Well excuse the customer from picking the incorrect quantity of wings. Very Rude to us. Will never go back. Suggest you dont either.... The food was fine, but the attitude of the owners was terrible. My husband, 10 month old and I were looking for a place to have dinner outside on the river on a beautiful Friday evening. We came across the listing for the Baja Grill and thought that it was right up our ally! We arrived around... 8:00 and asked for a table outside on the deck. The waitress had us pick any table and brought a highchair over to us. A table close to us had two small kids as well. We ordered pretty quickly, easy and simple fare. A chicken quesadilla, shrimp wrap and a side salad. 45 minutes of waiting and our waitress returned to tell us that the kitchen was swamped and our food was almost ready. What she really should have said is she completely forgot to put in our order because it took another 15 minutes to arrive. Not 5 minutes into us eating one of the waitresses came over and said to us, "I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but kids are not allowed here after 7:30". We were not even finished eating!! The table with kids right next to us had just finished and were just leaving (past curfew as well I guess). So first of all we had been seated with a high chair after our cutoff hour (by a member of their staff I would think?!) and then we could have been long gone if our bar food hadn't taken an hour to be delivered. I'm not sure if she wanted us to ask for a box or what, but it was absolutely ridiculous! I will never give them service or recommend them to anyone! Nice view but horrible service, mediocre food at best and rude wait staff. Sheesh louise! More

We visited this marina and rented stand up paddle boards for a leisurely float off the marina and around 9 mile island. After our enjoyable experience, we had lunch at the restaurant, then walking along the docks. Everything was very clean and well maintained and... I wouldn't hesitate having a slip at this very friendly location. More

Stumbled on the Baja Bar by chance when looking for a restaurant with outside seating on a Sunday afternoon. There was a small sign indicating a restaurant; we followed a dark hallway into an almost vacant restaurant. There was a bartender and a few people... at the bar - no one acknowledged us so we walked outside to an outside restaurant & bar. The atmosphere is great because it's at the yacht club and on the water. Our server was adequate, the food fair, the frozen drink served in a small plastic cup diluted with ice for $6.50. Some of the food was served with paper plates and plastic silverware. This restaurant has a great potential, but the lack of interest by the staff and the quality of the food doesn't encourage a rush to return. There was a band that played from 2-6pm which was entertaining. Would recommend if you're looking for a place to enjoy the water. Definitely an older crowd. More

Part of a boat dock and swiming pool complex. Menu is okay, some fish some salads burgers etc. Perhaps biggest draw is adult (40+) crowd at teh bar on weekends.

We had appetizers and great sandwiches and watched the Steeler game at Baja Bar and Grill (Fox Chapel Yacht Club). Establishment sits right along the Allegheny River which gives a super atmosphere (it is a smoking facility though). Food prices were reasonable and our service... was excellent (thanks Dana!). Had a couple mixed drinks and they were nice and strong! They also have outdoor seating but it was too cold and rainy to sit outside when we were there. It's tricky to find but once we found it we were happy! More

My wife, another couple and I stopped at the Baja Grill Saturday night 3/6/2021 to support our local business. We thought we would stop for an after dinner drink since we just had dinner. There was not a single person there. When the bartender came... over he said we had to order an appetizer or meal in order to have drinks . We ordered drinks. When he came back we tried to order an appetizer for the table since we all already had dinner. Now he said we all had to order an appetizer. When we tried to order french fries he said we couldn't but fried pickles were ok .What is the difference between a fried potato and a fried pickle? Oh that's right $5.00 more for the pickles. It wasn't about having food on the table. It was about forcing customer to order more expensive food. We did not even eat them. We ask to speak to the manager, he was rude as well. We are regular customers that support them every weekend when there is entertainment. The manager said it was a Pa mandate which is not true. Then he said it was house rules. we go out 3-4 times a week to different restaurants and not one says we all have to order separate meals or appetizers as long is there is some sort of food on the table. So instead of our bill being $18.00 for drinks it was $40.00. We will never go back and I hope they realize they lost some very good customers. We will spread the word to others who also go there. They should appreciate any customers coming in to support them . While we were there 2 girls came in for drinks and immediately left without ordering anything. STEER CLEAR OF THIS PLACE!!! THEY DO NOT UNDERSATND WHAT CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ALL ABOUT!! More

When ording a rueben it came with ham. I ask if there was a mix up and was told they never use kosher corn beef. And way too over priced for the quality.

Great place to be in the summertime with outdoor seating and outdoor under cover bar area. Great bands. Good bar food and Jules was our excellent server.

This is in my neighborhood. We LOVE it here! We like to go and have a turkey burger and fries, and watch the people on the water. They have live music in the summer and great atmosphere. Come on and check them out!

we had our boat here and spent some time on the property. the food is not good and the entertainment is OKAY the prices aren't bad for drinks. much better places to hang out. also a bit of an older crowd ..like over 50.

The Baja Bar & Grill is part of the Fox Chapel Yacht Club located in a wealthy suburb northeast of Pittsburgh along the Allgheny River.

The bar is named the Baja Peninsula on the western coast of Mexico. Guests enjoy a room rich with simple luxuries and lots of huge windows. An outdoor deck provides a terrific place for socializing during warm weather months.

Great place to dine for lunch or dinner. Right on the waterfront so there is always action. Food was very good. Fried zucchini appetizer was wonderful and filet sandwich was just as good. Waitress was very attentive and friendly. Great place for the money

This restaurant is as close to European style waterfront casual dining as Pittsburgh generally gets. Nicely situated on the Fox Chapel marina and swimming pool, the outdoor terrace cafe/bar offers standard bar style food well prepared albeit with a sluggish service. Live entertainment on occasion... gives added enjoyment while you watch the river meander down town and congratulate yourself on never having been foolish enough to have bought a boat. If you're not in a hurry and hanker for waterfront dining, people, river and boat watching there is no better place. More

Late lunch on a Friday,one barmaid,one waitress,got my own menu,wrote down our order ,took to to bar,not enough help. Dishes or plastic left by previous eaters not cleaned up.Barmaid overwhelmed and mainly waited on bar patrons,especially men ,I aaume for tips.

We arrived around 6:05pm on Saturday May 22nd and was told we’d have to pay a 7$ per person cover charge because they had a band. Fair enough, I thought. What they failed to tell us was the band didn’t go on until 8:00 pm.... We were back home by then. There must be some way they can identify who stays for the band and who doesn’t. In all fairness, the food and service were good, but I just don’t like being ripped off. Obviously m, they don’t want my business. More

My wife and I had dinner at the indoor bar at Baja. The bartender handled our order as there was no waiter available. The food was very good and the service was great.

For bar food, the Baja Grille is pretty decent. Chicken wraps are very tasty. Nice outdoor bar with a view of the river and the beautiful yachts.

Sat at the outside bar and Tony our bartender was very attentive to our needs. The drinks never were empty and when they made a mistake with our lunch he made up with free drinks. The view was spectacular which made it even better. Plan... on going again soon. More

My husband and I decided to go and have lunch by the water. Baja bar and grill is right in our neighborhood. So, we made our way there! It's on the premises of the Fox Chapel yacht club. We sat down, had a GREAT server,... (Lynn), who was phenomenal, and had a great lunch!! We haven't been there in a while, and we were happy that we returned. We will certainly be back again soon! What a beautiful evening on the riverfront with our son and daughter in law. Very busy because of a popular Jimmy Buffett group but our service was very good and the staff was friendly and efficient. The food was good, much like bar food and... the prices were reasonable. Not sure about the wine, tasted watered down or cheap. Had a great time in spite. And very relaxing. More

Six of us went to the Baja Bar and Grill in the Fox Chapel Yacht Club to celebrate a birthday. The outdoor area was crowded and loud so we sat in the dining room overlooking the river. The young lady that finally approached our table... was also the bartender and server for the every table in the place. Over the course of the next hour, we had to get up to get drink refills, condiments, napkins.... Service was virtually non existent. At the end of the meal, our 2 bills were completely wrong. It took almost 15 minutes of haggling with our "server" to get them right. She showed no sense of regret that our experience was clearly sub par. We went based on the menu we viewed on their website. The prices seemed very reasonable so we thought it would be reasonable for a group of 6. Our mistake was that the cost of drinks drove the total bill pretty high. The food was just "okay". Certainly not good enough for us to return. We can run for our own drinks and sundry at a quick serve restaurant for a fraction of the price. Management needs to staff the inside dining area. More

Visited here for a Class Reunion. Was informed the month before to just request vegan options when visiting. They were very willing to make a special plate that was vegan, but the buffet provided pasta with marinara sauce, steamed broccoli, and fruit. We decided to... just make do with those items, even though their willingness encouraged us to choose anything from there menu, and they would make the necessary adjustments. Food quality for those items was satisfactory. More

I was with a party of 16 friends. The waitress was very good about separate checks for the singles and couples in the group. She got every check correct and was very professional. The facility is nice with adequate parking. One person in the party... got fettucini alfredo and did not like it. Another got the Salmon dinner and said it was very good. Also heard good comments about Shrimp and Hamburger plates. I got a fish sandwich with fries. The fries were good, thin cut not coated or seasoned. The fish was a round thick batter coated lump, very thick and uncooked in the middle. I ate around the edges and left the center on the plate. I heard some others comment that their fish was also uncooked. If we go there again, I will get the hamburger. There is a beautiful view of the river and the boat docks. More
