Most people know two things about Tiger Woods' yacht: It's big, and it is named Privacy . As you would expect from someone who names his boat Privacy , Woods has never revealed much information about his yacht. But we can put together a profile of the yacht based on other sources of public information about it.

How Big Is Woods' Yacht?

There are some basics about the Woods' yacht that are known to be true. For example, it's 155 feet long. That's a big boat for an individual owner, but it's nowhere near the size of the biggest yachts on the seas (which top 500 feet in length), and it's not even the biggest yacht owned by a golfer: Greg Norman has a yacht that is nearly 230 feet in length.

But hey, give him a break: Woods purchased the boat in 2004. He can always get a new one if a 155-foot, 2004-vintage yacht starts to feel a little cramped in size.

How Much Woods' Boat Cost to Buy

Woods bought his yacht from Christensen Shipyards in Vancouver, Wash., for a reported $20 million. According to Power and Motor Yacht magazine, Tiger's yacht is a "155 Trideck Motor Yacht known as Hull 026."

(Ironically, the shipbuilders of Woods' Privacy allegedly violated the golfer's privacy, according to a subsequent lawsuit that Woods filed against Christensen. Woods claimed in his suit that the shipbuilders, contrary to agreement, used Woods' name and photos to promote their business. MSNBC.com reported in 2006 that the suit was settled in Woods' favor for $1.6 million.)

Woods took delivery of his yacht in time for his wedding to Elin Nordegren in 2004; the couple spent their wedding night aboard the Privacy . The Palm Beach Post has reported that it was Nordegren, prior to the wedding, who made most of the interior decorating choices for the boat.

Tiger's yacht is docked at a marina in North Palm Beach, Fla. (It is believed that Tiger Woods' house in Jupiter Island, Fla., has enough room on its Intracoastal Waterway frontage to berth Woods' yacht, although, as far as we know, Woods has never docked it there.)

Amenities, Crew and More Details About Woods' Yacht

Power and Motor Yacht magazine has reported that the Privacy has a 12,000-gallon fuel tank that will take the boat 4,000 miles, with a top speed of 17 knots.

The yacht is reported to have 6,500 square feet of living and work space and a capacity to sleep up to 21 people in a master suite and five guest rooms. It includes, according to various sources, a gym and theater, and carries multiple watercraft such as jet skis. It takes a crew of nine to operate.

People magazine has reported of Woods' yacht that it "offers all the comforts of home and then some: a 2,000-gallon water tank, five guestrooms, a Jacuzzi, a gym, an elevator, a sky-lounge bar, a walk-in refrigerator, a deck dining area that seats 12, and two built-in wall safes."

That's a nice boat!

Tiger's Other Boat: The Solitude

Woods also owns another boat, a 61-footer named Solitude . The Solitude is a dive boat: a boat scuba diving enthusiasts use to to get out to their diving destinations. It's not a yacht, in other words, but it's a good guess that as dive boats go the Solitude is a mighty fine one. It was custom built, according to People Magazine , for a cost of from $2 million to $3 million, by a company named Garlington Landeweer Marine. According to the magazine, the Solitude is docked at Pirate’s Cove Resort & Marina, about 10 minutes from Woods' estate in Jupiter Island, Fla.

Tiger Woods' yacht is MOORED in Albany, fuelling speculation over appearance

According to marine traffic, his yacht set sail earlier in the month and is now in the bahamas. .

Tiger Woods' yacht is reportedly moored in the Bahamas, prompting speculation he will speak in public for the first time since his car crash.

The yacht, named Privacy, reportedly left Florida at the start of the month according to Marine Traffic , and is currently moored in Albany.

Obviously, we don't know who is on board. Locals have reportedly been taking pictures of it ahead of the Hero World Challenge.

He is the tournament host this week and will command all the attention if he turns up.

The golf world was sent into a frenzy when he posted a 3-second clip hitting what looked like a 7-iron at Medalist Golf Club in Florida.

Woods has reportedly sent his yacht to tournament locations before and then flown there.

Examples of this include the 2018 U.S. Open and a year later at the PGA Championship at Bethpage Black.

It would be strange for Woods to send his yacht all the way there and not attend.

The PGA Tour have not yet confirmed any public media duties for Woods.

Inside Tiger Woods and Nicklaus Design’s new Caribbean hideaway, Jack’s Bay

Jack's Bay in the Bahamas hopes it will find itself an all-time golf destination.

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION.

On the ribbon-thin island of Eleuthera in the Bahamas lies Jack’s Bay , an exclusive resort club and residential community stretching for four miles along the white sandy beaches of its Atlantic coastline. Within this idyllic setting, Tiger Woods has created one of his most distinctive course designs, appropriately named the Playground. While it may be a short course, it comes with remarkable versatility and can be played a variety of ways. Whether you’re seeking a family outing, a friendly wager or simply a chance to immerse yourself in the breathtaking island vistas that are truly panoramic, this course is a literal breath of fresh, friendly Bahamian air. As the next generation would say, it’s got the vibes. But what about more serious golf?

Fear not, it’s coming , and the new 18-hole course is poised to become one of the world’s most sought-after golf destinations. Its allure stems not only from its awe-inspiring scenery but also from its distinction as the first Nicklaus Heritage course ever conceived. Spearheaded by Nicklaus Design , the Heritage course at Jack’s Bay is the culmination of contributions from multiple designers, each with a direct influence stemming from work on the legendary Golden Bear’s numerous award-winning course designs. At the helm of this ambitious project is Senior Designer Chad Goetz, a veritable course doctor who has already garnered accolades for his remarkable redesigns at the Royal Palm Yacht and Country Club in Boca Raton, Fla., and the Great Waters course at Lake Oconee, Ga.

“It is destined to be a spectacle,” declares Goetz with confidence. “Several holes will stretch alongside the ocean, while the land beyond boasts remarkable topography, featuring undulating terrain with changes in elevation, sparkling lakes, mysterious deepwater ‘blue holes’ leading to the ocean and even caves. Mother Nature has endowed us with a rare canvas, and we intend to preserve its natural integrity while enhancing the island’s beauty.”

Approximately 300 miles from Florida’s coast and just 60 miles from Nassau, Eleuthera stands out as a slender island boasting more than 200 miles of dazzling coastline. The Nicklaus golf course will serve as the anchor for a private, luxury resort community spanning 1,200 acres along several miles of the island’s eastern shore.

Additionally, a host of outstanding amenities is on the horizon, including a premier beach club, a rejuvenating spa, state-of-the-art fitness and wellness centers and a comprehensive sports pavilion complex.

As part of the forthcoming plans, the Jack’s Bay Founder’s Program includes a total of just 24 sites, including 13 beachfront properties and 11 ocean-view properties (priced from just under $1 million to just over $2 million). These select homesites are ideally located along the prime stretch of oceanfront nestled between the amenities of the Atlantic Club and the Tiger Woods Playground course, with many enjoying direct access to stunning pink sand beaches or commanding views from elevated perches in close proximity to the shoreline.

DOES TIGER WOODS NEED A BIGGER BOAT? HIS YACHT “PRIVACY” IS DWARFED BY OTHERS IN THE BAHAMAS

did tiger woods take his yacht to the bahamas

NASSAU, Bahamas — Tiger Woods traveled by yacht to the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas this week. Yes, that would be the $20 million luxury vessel dubbed Privacy.

Woods, who bought the boat in 2004, has taken it around the world, including the 2018 U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills in New York.

Now, it’s parked in the Bahamas, which is not surprising.

What might be surprising is how this 6,500-square-foot craft is dwarfed by other boats in dock. The one on the far left is Tiger’s.

The Golf Channel’s Dan Hicks quipped that it “might be time for Tiger to trade that in” when comparing Privacy to other absurdly large and much more expensive watercraft. Tiger woods, fellow pga tour player directors meet pif governor, who talks through vision.

Members of the PGA Tour Enterprises board, including player director Tiger Woods, were in the Bahamas on Monday for what was, for many of them, the first in-person meeting with PIF governor Yasir Al-Rumayyan.

According to Golf Channel’s Todd Lewis, Woods was one of several player directors who joined PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan down at Albany, the tony community in New Providence. Flight-tracking accounts also placed Woods’ jet in the Bahamas, as well as planes registered to the PIF, PGA Tour and Strategic Sports Group member John Henry of Fenway Sports Group.

Yasir landed at 5:22pm yesterday Nassau time. About 30 minutes later, #TigerWoods ' diving vessel Solitude went out for about 90 minutes near Goulding Cay https://t.co/MjNOavHPw2 pic.twitter.com/j1fqoqw6W5 — radaratlas2 (@radaratlas2) March 18, 2024

While both sides, the Tour and PIF, are keeping negotiations “close to the vest,” Lewis reported, the meeting would be more of the Tour’s board members “putting a face to the name” regarding PIF representatives. Lewis added that future discussions would likely focus on three main points: 1. How much PIF would invest in the for-profit PGA Tour Enterprises, 2. Where team golf fits into new entity, 3. Potential pathways back to the Tour from LIV Golf.

Initial reports of this meeting had it taking place at a private residence in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. Then on Sunday, Patrick Cantlay, a player director, confirmed the meeting with the PIF governor , though Cantlay said that he didn’t “imagine anything substantive” coming from Monday’s “meet-and-greet.”

“I’m going into the first meeting with the idea of listening a lot more than talking,” Cantlay said. “I’m excited to hear all I’ll learn.”

By Monday evening, Monahan had updated PGA Tour member via memo ( first reported by Monday Q Info ), saying he and the six player directors (Woods, Cantlay, Webb Simpson, Adam Scott, Jordan Spieth and Peter Malnati) did indeed visit with Al-Rumayyan on Monday, and that, “The conversation throughout was constructive and represents an important part of our due diligence process in selecting potential investors for PGA Tour Enterprises. This mirrors the approach we employed earlier this year as we evaluated an investment offer from the Strategic Sports Group. During the session, Yasir had a chance to introduce himself to our player directors and talk through his vision, priorities and motivations for investing in professional golf.

“As we continue these discussions with the PIF, we will keep you updated as much as possible, but please understand that we need to maintain our position of not conducting negotiations in public. To that end, we will provide no further comments to the media at this time.”

Tiger Woods To The Bahamas? Boat Left Florida, Report Says

UPDATE: RadarOnline.com reports that Woods' yacht is still docked in Florida.

People reports that Tiger Woods is sailing to the Bahamas with friends in his yacht. On Friday, Jose Lambiet of the Palm Beach Post had written that a "marina worker speculated that the golfer could be headed to the Bahamas as soon as the weather clears."

Earlier in the month an article speculated that Woods and his wife Elin Nordegren might leave the country , possibly to Sweden, where Nordegren just bought a home .

A new report says that Nordegren will not divorce Woods right away, but two issues in particular are apparently giving her pause.

Last week, multiple articles had alleged that Nordegren plans to divorce him , with one source claiming the "divorce is 100 percent on." Nordegren was also spotted in public without her wedding ring as Tiger's list of alleged mistresses continued to expand.

Tiger Woods has up-and-down day in first event since April ankle surgery

did tiger woods take his yacht to the bahamas

Tiger Woods played competitive golf for the first time in more than seven months Thursday, posting a 3-over-par 75 at the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas.

Woods, who turns 48 next month, is competing in his first tournament since he withdrew from the Masters in April and underwent ankle surgery. Playing alongside Justin Thomas, Woods was solid early before giving way to inconsistency down the back nine. He had four birdies, five bogeys, one double bogey and eight pars on the day.

“I was rusty. I didn’t have my feels, and conditions were tough early,” Woods said on the Golf Channel broadcast of the event, which is operated by his charitable foundation. “I kind of hung through there and I did not finish off my round the way I needed to, and consequently it kind of went sideways at the end.”

Woods has played in just five PGA Tour tournaments since suffering severe injuries to his right leg in a February 2021 car crash . The 15-time major champion had surgery to fuse his right ankle in April, soon after he withdrew during the weather-delayed third round of the Masters.

Woods is slotted 1,328th in the Official World Golf Ranking, a career-worst position that can be credited to his inactivity in recent seasons.

Tiger Woods discusses return to golf, sport’s ‘murky’ future

The former No. 1 golfer said he felt he could play competitively again after caddying for his son, Charlie , at the 54-hole Junior Golf National Championship in early November. In the lead-up to this week’s event, a 20-man, no-cut contest on the island of New Providence in the Bahamas, Woods said he was free of the “pain that I had at Augusta or pre-that in my ankle” but did not know what to expect of his performance.

He played nine holes at the Hero World Challenge pro-am Wednesday and did not seem to be laboring. He did not appear to struggle through Thursday’s round.

“I think the middle part of my round it was just a lack of commitment, and it kind of carried over into some of the final holes,” Woods said.

Speaking about his body, he added: “Well, I’m a little bit sore, that’s for sure. We’ve got some stuff to do tonight to get ready for tomorrow, and then we’ll [head] back in the gym and get right after it tomorrow and hopefully post a better number.”

Tiger Woods to Play in the Bahamas, His First Competition Since the Masters

Tiger Woods showed he could walk four days while caddying for his son. Now he has decided he is fit enough to try to play.

Woods announced on social media Saturday he will be playing in the Hero World Challenge, which starts Nov. 30 at Albany Golf Club in the Bahamas.

It will be his first time competing since he withdrew before the third round at the Masters after battling the wind and cold while playing on his injured right leg.

His TGR company announced his decision to take a sponsor exemption. The 20-man field is for the top 50 in the world ranking, though the tournament host — Woods — is exempt.

Woods had said in an interview with The Associated Press last week, when discussing his ownership of a team in the tech-driven TGL league, that his right ankle is pain-free after being fused in a surgery in April following the Masters.

“My ankle is fine. Where they fused my ankle, I have absolutely zero issue whatsoever,” Woods said. “That pain is completely gone. It’s the other areas that have been compensated for.”

He compared it with when he had fusion surgery on his lower back. He said the L5 and S1 vertebrae were fine.

“But all the surrounding areas is where I had all my problems and I still do,” he said. “So you fix one, others have to become more hypermobile to get around it, and it can lead to some issues.”

Woods recently caddied for his son, Charlie, at the Notah Begay III Junior Golf Championship, sparking speculation that he was close to playing again.

Woods will be playing the Hero World Challenge for the first time since 2019. The holiday event was canceled in 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic, and then he badly damaged his right leg in a February 2021 car crash outside of Los Angeles that threatened to end his career.

He returned a year later at the Masters and made the cut, and he played in two more majors, including what figures to be his final appearance at St. Andrews in the British Open.

He has said his tournament play would be limited, and he played only the Genesis Invitational at Riviera, which he hosts, and the Masters this year before having surgery on his ankle.

Woods has not won since the Zozo Championship in Japan in the fall of 2019, the year he won the Masters for his 15th major.

The Hero World Challenge is 72 holes with no cut.

Tiger Woods falters on the back; cards 75 in his return to the Bahamas

Daily Wrap Up

Change Text Size

NASSAU, Bahamas — Tiger Woods held up just fine Thursday in his first time competing in eight months, except for limping at the end. That was more about his golf than his fused right ankle.

Woods was holding his own at the Hero World Challenge until a double bogey from a bush on the par-5 15th, followed by two more bogeys. The result was a 3-over 75, eight shots out of the lead and a score better than only two players in the 20-man field at Albany.

Asked what he got out of his round, Woods laughed and said, “Hit a lot of shots.”

Open champion Brian Harman and Tony Finau led the way at 5-under 67, one shot ahead of Jordan Spieth, who was as entertaining as ever. Spieth made only five pars and had one stretch of 10 holes without one until the final hole.

But this day was all about Woods, as it usually is whenever he plays, and especially when he has been away for so long. He expected to be rusty, and it eventually it showed.

“I didn’t have my feels,” Woods said. “Conditions were tough early. I did not finish off the round like I needed to. Kind of went sideways at the end.”

Woods returns while Harman, Finau battle for the lead at Hero

He was one under for the round through 14 holes when he pulled his tee shot to the left at the base of a bush. He contemplated his options before decided to try to punch it out toward the fairway or even a bunker, even though he could take the club back only a foot or so.

Woods caught mostly soil and advanced it only a few feet. He punched his third shot back to the fairway and then came up about 40 yards short of the green. He pitched that to 10 feet only to miss the bogey putt.

He found a fairway bunker off the tee on the tough 16th, came up short of the green and hit a weak pitch to 20 feet that led to bogey. Then, he three-putted the par-3 17th from 45 feet.

Woods wasn’t the only player who struggled in his return. Will Zalatoris had back surgery right after he withdrew from the Masters. He had three double bogeys and a bogey in a four-hole stretch around the turn and closed with one more bogey for an 81.

Woods attributed his mistakes to a lack of commitment, that came from a lack of playing. Instincts gave way to thinking about too many elements as he began to swing.

Tiger Woods’ interview after Round 1 of Hero

“Should I do this or not? By then I’m pulling the trigger,” he said. “I shouldn’t really pull the trigger. Hit a bad shot. I kept doing it time and time again. It was a lack of commitment to what I was doing and feeling. I’ve got to do a better job of it.”

He also said he was plenty sore and would resume the process he has come to know all too well — recovery in the evening, back in the gym to get his body ready before the next round.

He still had no regrets about playing for the first time since Saturday at the Masters. He didn’t finish his rain-delayed third round in the April chill at Augusta, and then had fusion surgery on his right ankle a few weeks later.

“I wanted to compete, I wanted to play," Woods said. "I felt like I was ready to compete and play. I hit it solid most of the day. As I said, I just didn’t mentally do the things I normally would do and I need to do.”

He may be the greatest golfer in history, but Tiger Woods is worried most people will only remember him for his scandals off the course, The Post can reveal.

From his 2017 DUI to his tawdry sex scandal involving dozens of women, the 48-year-old athlete has weathered embarrassing storms by dominating on the golf course.

But now his own career is flagging, Woods has begun a quest to leave behind a legacy that will transcend his scandals — by handing the clubs over to his 15-year-old son, Charlie.

Charlie and Tiger Woods

“He’s survived a sex scandal, an accident, an arrest, and a lot of personal turmoil,” says the insider. “But he’s not in his 20s or 30s anymore. He’s knocking on 50. So he’s got to leave a mark that will last forever.”

Charlie has displayed much of his father’s raw talent — but may not have the same legendary focus and drive.

In 2020, Tiger and Charlie competed in the PNC championship, their first father/son tournament together. Afterwards, a visibly proud Woods told reporters that he was honored to compete with his son.

“I don’t think words can describe it,” Woods said. “Just the fact that we were able to have this experience together, Charlie and I, it’s memories for a lifetime.”

But it’s unclear whether Charlie will become the PGA’s next wunderkind. “He’s his father’s son, for sure,” says the insider, “but he doesn’t have the same focus that Tiger had as a teenager. Part of it is probably because Tiger doesn’t push Charlie as hard as [his father] Earl pushed him.”

Woods himself acknowledges Charlie may not follow in his footsteps. “I’m proud of whatever direction he chooses,” Woods said in an interview with PGA , “whether he sticks with the game or not.”

But even as Woods has reached untold success, his personal life has been fraught with setbacks.

On Black Friday in 2009, Woods got into a bizarre traffic accident outside his Orlando-area home. His then-wife, Elin Nordegren, had taken a golf club to break a rear window, raising speculation the couple had gotten into a fight.

And then it happened: a tabloid reported Woods had been bedding Rachel Uchitel, a VIP party hostess in Las Vegas. One after another, more women came forward with stories of sex romps in parking lots and hotel rooms.

As he lost million of dollars in endorsements, a humiliated Woods entered treatment for sex addiction. When his treatment was complete, Nordegren filed for divorce, taking a reported $100 million settlement.

In 2017, Woods was in trouble again, when he was nabbed in Palm Beach County DUI.

According to a toxicology report, five different drugs were in his system, including hydrocodone, hydromophone, Xanax, Ambien and THC, which is found in marijuana.

Woods claimed that he took the drug cocktail to combat the pain in his back. “I realize now it was a mistake to do this without medical assistance,” he said at the time.

In February 2021, Woods got in a serious car crash that shattered his right leg. He has undergone multiple surgeries and extensive physical therapy.

So is Tiger done with golf?

In 2024, he has only competed in one tournament — and didn’t complete it.

In February, Woods withdrew from the Genesis Invitational  in the middle of the second round after what was first described as an “illness”  and that Woods later clarified was “influenza.”

On Thursday, Woods announced that he would compete this April in The Masters, the tournament he has one 5 times, most recently in 2019. But Woods is notorious for signing up for tournaments that he doesn’t complete.

“He’s always optimistic,” says the insider. “He hopes his body holds out.”

Off the course, Woods is taking a leadership role within the sport. Last weekend, he hosted a meeting with the head of the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia to discuss future investment opportunities within the PGA Tour.

Webb Simpson, one of six player directors on the PGA Tour Policy Board, raved to Sports Illustrated about Woods’ newfound leadership. “He’s been super engaged along the way,” Simpson said. “He’s a great leader and I really think he’s taken the position of our leader and we rely on him a lot.”

Woods is telling his circle that he wants to have a lasting impact on the sport.

“He knows his best days are behind him, but he has a lot more to offer,” says the insider. “He wants to leave behind something positive. That’s his biggest concern these days.”

Tiger Woods made it official Wednesday by announcing he would return to competition as part of the 20-man field at the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas.

Woods is the tournament host of the unofficial event on Dec. 1-4 at Albany Golf Club, where the tournament has been played since 2015.

It will be the first time Woods has played the Hero World Challenge, which benefits his foundation, since 2019.

Woods, who announced his decision on Twitter, has not played competitively since he missed the cut in the British Open at St. Andrews in July.

That was only the third tournament he played in 2022, all of them majors. He made the cut at the Masters and PGA Championship, finishing 47th at Augusta National and withdrawing after three rounds at Southern Hills.

The Hero World Challenge is the start of a busy month for Woods, who also has agreed to play in a made-for-TV exhibition on Dec. 10 with Rory McIlroy as his partner in a 12-hole match against Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas.

Woods also is expected to play in the PNC Championship a week later with his son, Charlie. They were runners-up a year ago in Orlando, Florida.

The 20-man field in the Bahamas receives world ranking points, with the caveat that sponsor exemptions must be among the top 50 in the world. There is an exception for the tournament host — Woods is at No. 1,245.

Woods said Tommy Fleetwood and Kevin Kisner would be the other exemptions, joining an already stacked field that has 17 of the top 20 players in the world. The only players from the top 20 not playing are McIlroy, Cameron Smith and Patrick Cantlay. Smith, the British Open champion, is ineligible because of his PGA Tour suspension for joining LIV Golf.

Also, tournament officials announced that Will Zalatoris has not fully recovered from a back injury that kept him out of the Tour Championship and the Presidents Cup. Zalatoris was replaced by former British Open champion Shane Lowry.

The Woods Watch: Tiger Woods has until Friday at 5 p.m. to commit to the 2024 Players

Woods is the only player to win the tournament in march and may and has never missed a cut in 18 starts at the stadium course.

did tiger woods take his yacht to the bahamas

Let the Tiger Watch begin.

When Tiger Woods did not commit to this week's Arnold Palmer Invitational at the Bay Hill Club and Lodge in Orlando, it may (or may not) have increased the odds he would enter the 50th Players Championship March 14-17 at the Players Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass.

Woods hasn't entered The Players since 2019 when he tied for 30th. Due to injuries and his car accident in 2021 he has appeared in the tournament only three times in the past 10 years since his 2013 victory at the Stadium Course.

Woods' last appearance on the First Coast came in 2022 when he was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in a ceremony at the PGA Tour's Global Home.

This is the final year of eligibility for Woods for The Players based on the five-year exemption he earned for winning the 2019 Masters. Woods has until Friday at 5 p.m. to commit to The Players and normally announces his playing schedule through his X site (formerly Twitter).

Tiger is playing some golf this week

Woods is playing at least 36 holes this week. He is entered in the Seminole Golf Club Pro-Member Monday and Tuesday, playing with PGA of America CEO Seth Waugh, 2021 Players champion Justin Thomas and investor Mike Walrath. Seminole is located off A1A north of West Palm Beach and is noted for its power-packed Pro-Member lineup.

Also scheduled to play are Tour players Rory McIlroy, Collin Morikawa, Tony Finau, Rickie Fowler, Matt Kuchar and Sam Ryder. Tom Brady and former NBA player Shane Battier also are in the field.

Tiger Woods has yet to miss a Players cut

Woods said last December that he would make one start per month in the run-up to The Masters. He entered the Genesis Invitational last month, the PGA Tour event he hosts at the Riviera Golf and Country Club near Los Angeles, but withdrew in the second round due to the flu.

It was his first start since the 2023 Masters, where he withdrew in the middle of the third round. Woods underwent fusion surgery on his right ankle after that and didn't play again until the PNC Championship with his son Charlie. Woods then played all four rounds of the Hero World Challenge, the event he hosts in the Bahamas.

Woods has made 18 starts in The Players and has never missed a cut. The only time he didn't play all 72 holes was in 2010 when he withdrew after playing seven holes in the final round because of neck pain.

Woods won the 2001 Players Championship in a Monday finish and captured the 2013 Players to join Jack Nicklaus, Fred Couples, Steve Elkington, Hal Sutton and Davis Love III in winning the tournament multiple times.

PGA Tour Players and Saudi Arabia PIF Boss Yasir Al-Rumayyan to Meet in the Bahamas, Tiger Woods Likely Attending

P ONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. — As a player director and member of the PGA Tour Policy Board, Tiger Woods “absolutely needs to be involved” in a meeting scheduled for Monday with the head of the Private Investment Fund (PIF) of Saudi Arabia, Rory McIlroy said.

It appears that is going to be the case.

If not, Yasir Al-Ramayyan, the governor of the PIF, PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan, who is also the CEO of new PGA Tour Enterprises, and several other player directors are going to a lot of trouble to be in the Bahamas.

A source told Sports Illustrated that the meeting which board member Patrick Cantlay confirmed Sunday would be taking place is going to happen in Nassau, Bahamas. Or, more specifically, the Albany Resort where Woods often parks his yacht and hosts his annual fundraising golf tournament.

Golfweek reported on Friday that a meeting would take place soon between the backer of LIV Golf and that the six player directors on the PGA Tour board were “strongly encouraged” to attend.

McIlroy said Sunday that such a meeting should have taken place “months ago.”

Some members of the Strategic Sports Group, which recently committed some $1.5 billion to PGA Tour Enterprises in the form of private equity, are also expected to end.

Cantlay, who withdrew from this week’s Valspar Championship , described the meeting as more of a meet and greet. Webb Simpson has said previously that he felt it was time to meet the people behind LIV Golf and get an idea of what they are looking to do.

“Well, I’ve gotta hear out what they have to say, and I will always do my best to represent the entire membership whenever I am in a meeting in that capacity,” Cantlay said after his final round at the Players Championship. “I think more information is always better.”

Cantlay indicated he was in more of a listen mode. Simpson, at the Arnold Palmer Invitational recently, said he felt at this point it was “very dangerous” to not make a deal with the PIF.

“I think we’re in a position where we want to do the right deal,” he said. “We don’t want to just do a deal because we’re afraid that the LIV tour might recruit more players. That’s certainly a fear. But I think it’s obvious. The writing is on the wall. We’re not in a position where we need to do a deal for money. We need to do a deal for the good of the game. And for the health of the PGA Tour long term. That’s my hope.”

Simpson added: “I don’t know what they (LIV and the PIF) want. I don’t know what the players playing for LIV want. I think they’re very happy where they are. I think they’re very happy with the decisions they’ve made. But I’ve heard from enough people who have grown a little distasteful with the current state of golf. Not pointing blame at LIV or PGA Tour or anyone.

“When you come to big tournaments like the Arnold Palmer Invitational, you want to know the guy who won beat most or all of the best players. Right now the PGA Tour still has more great players, but LIV has great players as well. I just think for the health of the game and longevity and for what fans are used to seeing ...”
