• European Powerboat of the Year

BoatMag is member of the jury of the European Powerboat of the Year

The European Powerboat of the Year is the prize awarded every year to the best five boats, in their respective size category, among all the models sold in the Old Continent.

In the jury sit the directors of seven European magazines. In alphabetical order:

• Batliv (Norway),
• BoatMag (Italy),
• Boote (Germany),
• Marina.ch (Switzerland),
• Motorboot (The Netherlands),
• Nautica y Yates (Spain),
• Neptune (France),
• Yacht Revue (Austria).

The winners are unveiled during an award giving gala held on the first Saturday of the Düsseldorf Boat Show, one of the main events in the business held in mid-January every year.

The criteria which the jury bases their evaluation on space between value for money, performance, innovation. The spirit is to award the models that carry on valuable features, regardless of the brand or the market diffusion. That is why there’s five categories by length, so the large and famous motor yachts can’t overshadow smaller or less popular boats which still offer peculiar traits.

For the same reason, in the jury there’s just one member for each Country, so no nationality can prevail just for patriotism. All this means that in the end the prize will be truly deserved, and even the losers will have the privilege of having been nominated for this international award.

The categories are: up to 25 feet, up to 35, up to 45, over 45. A fifth category is reserved to displacement boats.

AXOPAR 22 Award Nominations!

We know that the AXOPAR 22 has taken the boating world by storm! But it’s always nice to be recognised by the boating industry.

The AXOPAR 22 Spyder has achieved a ‘Best of Boats 2021’ Finalist and the AXOPAR 22 T-Top has been nominated for the ‘European Powerboat of the Year Award 2022’ great news!

The very best boats of the model year 2021 have now been selected as finalists of the Best of Boats Award 2021. After hundreds of boat tests, 17 finalists in five user-focused categories have been selected by experienced boat testers and the largest international jury of expert motorboat journalists from all over Europe, Russia and the USA. Each year, hundreds of new boat models from all leading boat-building countries get tested by the jury members in confirmed full-scale boat tests.

This year the AXOPAR 22 Spyder has been nominated in the category ‘Best for Beginners’. According to the Best of Boats jury, a beginners boat should be easy to use, safe to travel with, made by a service-driven shipyard plus economically favourable regarding purchase price, fuel consumption and costs for maintenance.

The Award winner will be presented in Berlin in November.

AXOPAR 22 T-Top Nominated for the European Powerboat of the Year Award 2022

Each year Europe’s best in the boating industry are rewarded with the “Oscars of boating”. The international “European Powerboat of the Year” Awards. Two Flyers Nominated for the Best Powerboat of the Year 2020

The members of the EPOTY (European Powerboat of the Year) met at the Cannes Yachting Festival and have just unveiled the list of nominees for the title of European powerboat of  the Year 2020 in their category, on 18 January 2020 .

In the “Up to 25 feet” category, we have the Flyer 7 SUNdeck day boat, a new model in the Flyer line, currently on show at the Grand Pavois. As for the Flyer 10 , it has been nominated in the “25 to 35 feet” category and will be on show at all the European boat shows.

The jury is made up of journalists and editors from 9 European boating magazines:  BOOTE  (Germany ) ,  NEPTUNE  et  MOTEUR BOAT  (France),  BOOTMAG.IT  (Italy ) ,  MOTORBOOT  (The Netherlands ) ,  YACHT REVUE  (Austria ) ,  MARINA.CH  (Switzerland ) ,  BALTIV  (Norway ) et  NAUTICA & YATES  (Spain).

This new model won in the “up to 25 feet” category. This is the second time the brand has won the prestigious award, bringing home the trophy in 2012 with the Sundowner 215 model.

The European Powerboat of the Year is the most thorough competition there is for production yachts.The criterion for judging is based on value, performance and innovation. The spirit is to award the models that deliver valuable features and innovations, regardless of the brand or the market size. There are five categories in which to compete: up to 25 feet, up to 35 feet, up to 45 feet and over 45 feet. The panel of judges consists of editors-in-chief of Europe’s top eight motorboat magazines – Bådnyt (Norway), BoatMag (Italy), Boote (Germany), Marina.ch (Switzerland), Motorboot (The Netherlands), Nautica y Yates (Spain), Neptune (France) and Yacht Revue (Austria).

“It is quite an honor to be awarded this title, especially for a second time with Four Winns products,” stated Roch Lambert, President at Rec Boat Holdings. “The design team obviously did an outstanding job with the new Vista 255.
