It’s always nice when a superyacht packs a few surprises. Case in point: Too Design’s newest concept . The unassuming 186-footer is full of interesting features that only become apparent upon closer inspection.

The futuristic, eco-friendly vessel, which has been dubbed VisionE, was penned by the studio’s founder and veteran designer Marco Casali , with the goal of creating a more sustainable way of living and yachting.

“The name, which is Italian for “vision,” stands for a yaching evolution; an ecological, electrical, environmentally-friendly vision—our visionE,” Casali told Robb Report.

Most notably, VisionE is fitted with a retractable solar roof that opens up to reveal a sprawling 1,600-square-foot sun deck with a spa pool, alfresco dining area and lounge. Think of it as the marine equivalent of a Kinder Surprise Egg. Beyond the cool mechanics, the roof’s solar panels can harness up to 62 kW of energy from the sun, which is then stored in the large battery pack on board and used to power the yacht.

Speaking of power, Casali partnered with Francesco Rogantin of Names Studio on the superyacht’s propulsion and engineering. VisionE has been equipped with a hybrid diesel-electric system capable of pushing her to an estimated 14 knots, but could eventually run purely on clean, green electricity or even hydrogen. In order to further increase efficiency, VisionE sports a sleek aluminum hull and sharp bow specially designed to reduce drag.

In addition to the nifty hydraulic roof, VisionE’s seven staterooms each feature balconies that automatically fold down to give the 14 guests direct (and private) access to the ocean. The aft bulwarks can be extended, too, in order to create a massive deck by the water’s edge. At the center of this multi-purpose area is a section that can be opened up to create a saltwater swimming pool in the sea, or a garage for the tender. The section can also be covered to create a basketball court or outdoor cinema.

As for the 499 GT interior, it offers an open-plan layout geared toward entertaining, and can be customized to the owner’s taste. You’d better believe there will be a few surprises, though.

This generous luxury yacht VISIONE is a sailing yacht. This 45 metre (147 foot) luxury yacht was built at Baltic Yachts in 2002. Superyacht VISIONE is a stately yacht that can sleep as many as 10 passengers on board and has a total of 5 crew. Ready for launch for 2002 her reasonably recent interior decoration reflects the stature emanating from the boards of R & J Design/Design Unlimited.

The Building & Naval Architecture with respect to Luxury Yacht VISIONE

The yacht's wider design collaboration came from Reichel-Pugh. The technical naval architect intellectual property are a creation of Reichel-Pugh. Sailing Yacht VISIONE received her elegant interior designing from the interior design skills of R & J Design/Design Unlimited. Finland is the country that Baltic Yachts constructed their new build sailing yacht in. After her formal launch in 2002 in Bosund the boat was released to the owner after final finishing. Her hull was constructed with wooden/GRP composite. The sailing yacht main superstructure is fabricated mostly with composite. With a beam of 8.28 metres / 27.2 feet VISIONE has spacious internal space. A fairly 6.8 (22.3 ft) draught of 6.8m (22.3ft) selects the list of certain ports she can enter, depending on their individual depth. She had refit improvement and modification undertaken by 2007.

This ship is powered with a sole capable CATERPILLAR diesel engine(s) and can accelerate to a comparatively good maximum limit continuous speed of 15 knots. The engine of the ship produces 700 horse power (or 515 kilowatts). Her total HP is 700 HP and her total Kilowatts are 515. For propulsion VISIONE has a single screw propeller. Concerning thrusters she was built with Maxpower / Stern: Maxpower. This yacht’s impressive cruising speed is 12 knots which offers a range of 1300.

BALTIC 147 VISIONE

Delivered in late 2002, it is fair to say that the Baltic 147 Visione has established herself as a modern classic, an iconic yacht which some pundits regard as having been well ahead of her time when she was launched.

Despite her age she is still winning regattas and regarded as the yacht to beat, thanks to an ongoing programme of improvement much of it undertaken by Baltic’s Service and Refit team.

Although designed primarily for fast cruising, with a comfortable and spacious interior designed by R&J Design and Design Unlimited, the Baltic 147´s exceptional sailing performance puts most racing yachts to shame. With a total displacement of just 105,000kg – of which 50,400kg is in the keel ballast – the Reichel/Pugh-designed, 45m hull is capable of planing speeds in excess of 30 knots.

This luxury vessel's exterior design is the work of Stefano Natucci and she was last refitted in 2014.

5 things to know about North Palm Beach mega-yacht owner, billionaire Michael Bozzuto

Billionaire Michael Bozzuto is fighting for the right to moor his 164-foot mega-yacht behind a waterfront house he owns at 932 Shore Dr. in North Palm Beach.

But the Village of North Palm Beach has told Bozzuto he doesn't have this right.

It's the latest example of how big money landing in Florida is running up against Old Florida residents who want their communities to stay low-key.

After years of disputes over the yacht, Bozzuto recently filed a lawsuit against the municipality, asking a judge to agree that he has the right to the use of his house and his dock.

Who is Michael Bozzuto, and why is he suing the Village of North Palm Beach?

Here are five things to know:

1. Billionaire Michael Bozzuto is a longtime North Palm Beach resident

Bozzuto is the billionaire owner of a privately held, family-owned supermarket wholesaler in Connecticut called Bozzuto's Inc. The company is a distributor of food and household products to retailers in New England, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Bozzuto's was founded by Michael's late father, Adam.

Even though Bozzuto's Inc. is based in Connecticut, Bozzuto has lived in the Village of North Palm Beach, population 13,000, for 20 years.

2. Besides owning a yacht, what are Michael Bozzuto's hobbies?

In addition to being a businessman, Bozzuto is an investor and philanthropist. He is a longtime supporter of the Special Olympics.

He is also an under-the-radar resident who likes to collect houses and yachts, said his lawyer, former Florida Bar president Gregory Coleman.

Bozzuto bought the motor yacht, Honey, about 10 years ago for an undisclosed sum. The Westport mega-yacht was built in 2007 and is the largest of several yachts Bozzuto owns.

Bozzuto also owns four houses in the Village of North Palm Beach. This includes the house at 932 Shore Dr., where he wants to dock Honey. In 2014, Bozzuto paid $840,247 for the house, which was built in 1961, according to Palm Beach County property records.

The property is on a rare corner bordered on the north and east by navigable waters that provide access to the Atlantic Ocean via the Lake Worth Inlet. The east-facing dock is large enough to accommodate Honey.

Bozzuto's residence is in another part of North Palm Beach, on Harbour Isles Court.

3. Michael Bozzuto's net worth isn't known but billionaire owns property outside of North Palm Beach, too

Bozzuto made waves recently when in January he paid $31.1 million for a waterfront house in nearby Palm Beach Shores.

The Singer Island house with two docks stretches into the Intracoastal Waterway just north of the Palm Beach/Lake Worth Inlet. The three-lot parcel on 1.5 acres has about 200 feet of waterfront.

The property was bought from an owner whose family had owned it for decades. It's unclear if Bozzuto will make any changes to the property.

In a brief interview in February, Bozzuto said: “It’s a house, and it will probably be a house."

4. Why can't Bozzuto park his yacht behind his North Palm Beach house?

The Village of North Palm Beach rules say that a private dock or pier can only be used by the occupant of the house. But the village doesn't define the word "occupant."

Bozzuto's lawsuit said while the village has discussed whether to define an occupant as a resident, it never has done so.

Hundreds of other property owners dock a boat behind their North Palm Beach house but do not live there year-round.

Therefore Bozzuto said he's being singled out because neighbors just don't like his boat's big size. This selective enforcement is wrong, his lawsuit said.

5. What does North Palm Beach think about the lawsuit?

Unfortunately, this is a mystery until the village responds to Bozzuto's lawsuit in public court records.

The village's longtime lawyer, Lenard Rubin, who knows the municipality's history with boats and houses, did not respond to requests for comment. Neither did the village's manager, Chuck Huff.
