Yachting Blue interior (EJ) not available anymore?

 • Add to quote

Hello, guys! I've ordered my Boxster S a couple of days ago. I ordered it with white exterior, yachting blue roof and yachting blue interior (EJ). I really like this combination, probably more than any other available (even comparing it to two tone leather interiors, setting aside their price) Today I got an e-mail from my dealer that for the 2016 model year this interior will not be available anymore. And they are suggesting that I choose another color... This is a huge disappointment for me and I still don't know what to do. Do you guys know anything about yachting blue (EJ) not being available anymore for 981 models? I believe it is almost a deal-breaker for me, and I've already made a first payment in order to put a car in production... Any thoughts will be appreciated.

I incline to agree with you on BS point, I sense that there might be some mistake on the dealer side. Important remark - it's a dealer in Panama (im not from the US)... As for putting it to production, I probably did not express myself correctly. I meant that I made the first payment and signed a purchase.

Interesting. I noticed that the "Leather Package in Agate Grey/Pebble Grey" in both the standard interior w/ leather & full leather says "No Longer Available for Ordering as of 09/04/2015" (actually one says 2014, the other says 2015). I also wonder if it's September 4th (US date format) or April 9th (ROW standard)! I don't see anything noted about Yachting Blue, though... interesting.

Where did you notice that?

This one is available. But it is in the US. I sat in it a week ago and was impressed with the interior color. https://hennessy.porschedealer.com/...odium+Silver+Metallic/silver/1251665/info.php

I can confirm that Yachting Blue will not be available for U.S. orders on the Boxster GTS after July production. I saw it on my dealer's screen yesterday. Apparently some other colors will be eliminated or changed as well - but didn't see which because I was only focused on the blue. Unfortunately, no information on any new options.

The Horror!! Porsche Appears to Have Stopped Offering Yachting Blue Interiors!!?

yachting blue interior porsche

guess you'll have to wait for a bent 2015 model instead

What model Porsche are you going to buy?

yachting blue interior porsche

They probably noticed that more people were internet building that color than actually buying.

yachting blue interior porsche

That's messed up, man!

yachting blue interior porsche

First off, that color screams 1980s Ford Escort interior. Secondly, wave enough Benjamins under Porsche's nose and I promise you they will build you anything you want.

This man speaks the truth. My Grandma's 1990 Plymouth Acclaim had the same colour interior.

yachting blue interior porsche

pretty interior

yachting blue interior porsche

They probably stopped building it because every time someone sat in the drivers seat and saw that all blue steering wheel they projectile vomited so hard the vehicle was a total write-off.

:laugh::laugh::laugh:

This sucks, was totally my favorite P-color.

Hey now, no reason to get all bent out of shape.

yachting blue interior porsche

looks like they got rid of a lot of stuff. If you sprung for leather there used to be four or five two tone options. Now there is one.

yachting blue interior porsche

Wholeheartedly agree. I want a 981 more and more with each passing moment.

I dont' know why this upsets me so much, but it does. Whenever I would see a yachting blue interior, I would think, "there's a person who is a POrsche enthusiast and who custom ordered the car." The new "trimmed down" interior color options only lend themselves to more dealer-ordered, premium-package equipped, Porsches in black/silver with black/beige interiors.

My old Boxster was white with a blue top and blue interior. It was unique and I loved it. So many black interiors and black tops. It's a sports car- be a bit expressive.

Why don't you just make the minimum 37 pieces of flair

I'm sure the blue interior is still available under the Exclusive program. If you got the $$$$, Porsche will do anything.

I just checked and it looks like they got rid of any red interior options on the Boxster, with Espresso being the closest...that can't be right. Red is crazy popular on the Boxster as an interior colour (at least around here).

That blows, was a stunning combo. If I could legitimately own a "new" Porsche (That would mean I would need to have at least a 2m net worth) and I had the time to think about such choices, I would have spec'd a white Carrera (manual) with that Yachting blue combo interior myself.

"leather interior color to sample" I swear it works every time.

Bummer for all the unemployed blue cows.

yachting blue interior porsche

Haven't you heard? Blue cows have been put on the endangered species list recently.

Every time I see a 996 interior, regardless of color, I get sad.

Well, you didn't do your part in buying one in time. Thanks a lot OP.

Graphite Blue interior with extended deviated stitching in Speed Yellow

 • Add to quote

Hi all, I'm in the queue for a GTS 4.0 and I'm mulling over my interior choices. I initially opted for black leather with speed yellow extended deviated stitching but now I'm considering swapping that to graphite blue with speed yellow. Exterior is Racing Yellow. I was wondering if anyone has any real life photos of this combination? Or thoughts on how it would look? I believe Treemagnet has this but since I'm new to the forum I can't send a private message! Thanks for anything anyone can offer to help. Adam

With a bit of searching I found Treemagnet's arrival thread. Can't see how to delete this thread - apologies all! Still, I'm interested in any thoughts and opinions if you'd like to reply.

I had a brief think about the carbon steering wheel, but since I wouldn't be speccing the GTS interior pack (so I could spec the deviated stitching & seat ventilation), I'd have to add the expense of the carbon trim on top of the already customised interior otherwise the wheel would be the only carbon option. I agree black and yellow would work well due to the exterior being black and yellow too. I'm rationalising it by the fact that I won't really see the exterior and interior at the same time from a view that clashes. Once I'm in the car I can just enjoy the graphite blue and yellow. It's quite a dark blue so hopefully would fit ok. I kinda thought since I'm paying for a full leather interior anyway I might as well have it a different colour.

That looks a lot better than I thought it would. I thank you for sharing that. My wallet does not.

whatever you decide, you will like - no, love ! It's all a very personal choice and with so many options to play with, it does get hard. The other thing to do is pay a visit to your local centre, they have all the interior stuff so you can see in the flesh - this is for sure better than any pics - imho.

that Graphite Blue is really noticeable shade of blue! Not sure about combining with Racing Yellow - that's a personal choice of combinations

Kor 446 said: Looks be damned, the problem I have with a carbon wheel is the feel. Leather/Race-tex have some tackiness to them that makes sense for a piece that requires the application of torque. Not that the carbon is at all likely to cause a steering miscue. Rather, I like the sense that I have am more attached to the wheel than is the case with the slick/smooth/hard feel of carbon. And I do like carbon fiber. I've got the GTS interior, and I kept my carbon/aluminum knob from my 996 as a souvenir when I sold the car10 years ago. Note, though, that shifting is a "point and shoot" motion as opposed to the radial movement of the wheel. IMHO of course. View attachment 45047 Click to expand...

so, some good approved, low mileage used GTS's on the main Porsche web-site - worth a quick look if nothing else !

Definitely some good examples around at the moment. At least I will save some money I guess!

My understanding is that LEDs have been discontinued for all 718's. There are several people on Rennlist waiting for cars that have been told that they will not get the LEDs that they specced

Yes, annoying as **** .... but I'd rather just have the PDLS lights and extra options I can spec with the saving, rather than paying list or overs, for a decent low mileage car, that is a few years old with several owners. I think those floor mats look quite nice to me. Not certain which blue interior is displayed in your picture, but believe it to be Yachting Blue. YB is lighter blue with less gray than Graphite Blue. Regardless, IMHO Chalk stitching on Graphite Blue leather will look great (and was almost what I chose). If that your choice, then I would definitely add Chalk seat centers. 10 Amazing Paint To Sample Porsche 911 GT2 RS Colors

Why order such a special car in a "stock" color?

There's no question that the Porsche 911 GT2 RS is a special car. The GT2 RS captured the production car lap record around the Nurburgring and has now gone on to sell at a huge premium over its original MSRP of $293,000 . The average asking price for a GT2 RS is currently around $542,000, but this is assuming the car is painted in one of its four standard colors or eight optional colors.

Porsche also offers one of the coolest options on the market called paint to sample . GT2 RS deliveries are well underway and we have been seeing tons of examples with stunning PTS colors. An online magazine called PTSRS has been gathering a database of PTS cars and we have chosen 10 of the best colors on the GT2 RS. Let us know which one is your favorite in the comments.

Signal Green

This Signal Green GT2 RS was delivered to the Netherlands and is the first known example of this color in the world, though a second example was delivered in Houston, Texas. Of course, this GT2 RS also comes equipped with the Weissach Package featuring satin black accents. Signal Green has also been used on several BMW models.

Gulf Blue is a famous color that has been used on many race cars in the past. This GT2 RS also sports orange decals, which harken back to the old Gulf Racing colors. Combined with the lightweight Weissach Package, this GT2 RS is a fantastic homage to racing. Photo credit @supercarslovakia .

Ultraviolet

The 991.1 generation GT3 RS was offered in a unique shade of purple, but the GT2 RS did not have this option. Luckily this owner in Switzerland opted for a PTS Ultraviolet, which looks incredibly unique. This example is paired with the Weissach Package with satin gold wheels. Photo credit @justinschmoeller .

Mexico Blue

Mexico Blue is a historic color for Porsche, so it only made sense to opt for it on a GT2 RS with the Weissach Package. The particular example was found in California and sports matching Mexico Blue inserts on the interior. Photo credit @og_amer .

Yachting Blue Metallic

Yachts and Porsche seem to go together like peanut butter and jelly, so this example of Yachting Blue Metallic makes a ton of sense. The color seems to shift between blue and grey depending on the light and looks subtle but cool. Photo credit @porschecenterbergen .

Pastel Orange

The GT2 RS is already a pretty extreme car and doesn't need an extreme color to help it stand out - but it couldn't hurt. This shade of Pastel Orange was spotted in Texas and features Lava Orange stitching on the interior. Photo credit @porsche.wyatt .

Light Green

It may be a boring name, but Light Green is anything but a boring color. This color was formerly known as Birch Green and this example was delivered to Springfield, Illinois. On the inside, the car has stitching in Acid Green, which was a popular color on the 918. Light Green differs from Acid Green because it doesn't have as much of a yellow hue. Photo credit @gisringhausen .

Dark Sea Blue Metallic

Dark Sea Blue is seemingly a very popular PTS color because there are reportedly four examples including this particular one in Germany. The dark hue pairs incredibly well with the satin gold Weissach wheels, which really helps the wheels stand out. Photo credit @luca.munich .

If you want a color that almost no other car on the road will have, Mint Green seems like a good option. This example was delivered in Omaha, Nebraska, where it became the second known GT2 RS in this color. Few modern cars are sold in this shade, so we love the uniqueness of the color. Photo credit @todd.ashmore .

British Racing Green

The Porsche 911 may be all German, but it still looks great in British Racing Green. This example was delivered in Germany and also features unique "Madras Karo" plaid seats that were done via Porsche Exclusive. Photo credit @doddyslowinfastout .

Le Corbusier’s triumphant return to Moscow

The largest Le Corbusier exhibition in a quarter of a century celebrates the modernist architect’s life and his connection with the city.

Given his affinity with Moscow, it is perhaps surprising that the city had never hosted a major examination of Le Corbusier’s work until now. However, the Pushkin Museum and the Le Corbusier Fund have redressed that discrepancy with the comprehensive exhibition “Secrets of Creation: Between Art and Architecture,” which runs until November 18.

Presenting over 400 exhibits, the exhibition charts Le Corbusier’s development from the young man eagerly sketching buildings on a trip around Europe, to his later years as a prolific and influential architect.

The exhibition brings together the different facets of his talent, showing his publications, artwork and furniture design alongside photographs, models and blueprints of his buildings.

Irina Antonova, director of the Pushkin Museum, said, “It was important for us to also exhibit his art. People know Le Corbusier the architect, but what is less well know is that he was also an artist. Seeing his art and architecture together gives us an insight into his mind and his thought-processes.”

What becomes obvious to visitors of the exhibition is that Le Corbusier was a man driven by a single-minded vision of how form and lines should interact, a vision he was able to express across multiple genres.

The upper wings of the Pushkin Museum are separated by the central stairs and two long balconies. The organizers have exploited this space, allowing comparison of Le Corbusier’s different art forms. On one side there are large paintings in the Purist style he adapted from Cubism, while on the other wall there are panoramic photographs of his famous buildings.

Le Corbusier was a theorist, producing many pamphlets and manifestos which outlined his view that rigorous urban planning could make society more productive and raise the average standard of living.

It was his affinity with constructivism, and its accompanying vision of the way architecture could shape society, which drew him to visit the Soviet Union, where, as he saw it, there existed a “nation that is being organized in accordance with its new spirit.”

The exhibition’s curator Jean-Louis Cohen explains that Le Corbusier saw Moscow as “somewhere he could experiment.” Indeed, when the architect was commissioned to construct the famous Tsentrosoyuz Building, he responded by producing a plan for the entire city, based on his concept of geometric symmetry.

Falling foul of the political climate

He had misread the Soviet appetite for experimentation, and as Cohen relates in his book Le Corbusier, 1887-1965, drew stinging attacks from the likes of El Lissitsky, who called his design “a city on paper, extraneous to living nature, located in a desert through which not even a river must be allowed to pass (since a curve would contradict the style).”

Not to be deterred, Le Corbusier returned to Moscow in 1932 and entered the famous Palace of the Soviets competition, a skyscraper that was planned to be the tallest building in the world.

This time he fell foul of the changing political climate, as Stalin’s growing suspicion of the avant-garde led to the endorsement of neo-classical designs for the construction, which was ultimately never built due to the Second World War.

Situated opposite the proposed site for the Palace of the Soviets, the exhibition offers a tantalizing vision of what might have been, presenting scale models alongside Le Corbusier’s plans, and generating the feeling of an un-built masterpiece.

Despite Le Corbusier’s fluctuating fortunes in Soviet society, there was one architect who never wavered in his support . Constructivist luminary Alexander Vesnin declared that the Tsentrosoyuz building was the "the best building to arise in Moscow for over a century.”

The exhibition sheds light on their professional and personal relationship, showing sketches and letters they exchanged. In a radical break from the abstract nature of most of Le Corbusier’s art, this corner of the exhibition highlights the sometimes volatile architect’s softer side, as shown through nude sketches and classical still-life paintings he sent to Vesnin.

“He was a complex person” says Cohen. “It’s important to show his difficult elements; his connections with the USSR, with Mussolini. Now that relations between Russia and the West have improved, we can examine this. At the moment there is a new season in Le Corbusier interpretation.” To this end, the exhibition includes articles that have never previously been published in Russia, as well as Le Corbusier’s own literature.

Completing Le Corbusier’s triumphant return to Russia is a preview of a forthcoming statue, to be erected outside the Tsentrosoyuz building. Even if she couldn’t quite accept his vision of a planned city, Moscow is certainly welcoming him back.
