Columbus yachts have unveiled the design for their new superyacht ATLANTIQUE 65, the latest and largest in the Atlantique range which includes four other versions ranging from 37-55 meters. She presents with harmonious lines and is full of innovative features.
Superyacht Columbus Atlantique 65
“This new 65m (213’3”) is the natural evolution of a range that is giving us so much satisfaction.” comments Giuseppe Palumbo, founder and CEO of Palumbo Superyachts . “An even more detailed and sinuous exterior design, where the bridges have such a masterfully balanced and light structure to give the impression that they are suspended. Enrico Lumini and the entire Hot Lab team have marked another incredible milestone in the history of the Columbus shipyard.”
Columbus Atlantique 65 deck pool
The evolution of the Atlantique range has been incremental and with the 65 version the innovative design focusses on the overall three-dimensional composition to achieve a naturally fluid and coherent shape. The innovation continues with features including an infinity pool that is neither on the main deck nor the aft swim platform. The raised terrace includes a full-height entrance to the aft beach club which allows guests to enjoy the best possible view of the surrounding environment.
Columbus Atlantique 65 entertainment deck
“The fundamental idea was to create a volume characterised by great linearity and stylistic coherence, without redundancies, without excesses: an elegant and clean look as if stemmed from a sailboat or a 50s sports car,” explained Enrico Lumini of Hot Lab .
Atlantique 65 owners suite
Her helm station has been positioned on the upper deck, allowing for a duplex owner’s suite with three-metre-high ceilings at the bow. The upper level includes an office, walk-in closet and stateroom, while the second is home to a bathroom and elevated sitting room. The suite also benefits from infinite skylights and private access to the bow Jacuzzi.
Owner’s bathroom
The main deck owner’s suite is accompanied by four VIP staterooms below deck and a fifth VIP suite on the upper deck giving accommodation for a total of 12 guests. Additionally, there are 10 cabins assigned to the 16 crew members.
Superyacht Columbus Atlantique 65 deck
Power comes from twin MTU 12v 4,000 M63 engines which deliver a top speed of 17.5 knots, a cruising speed of 14 knots and a range of 5,500 nautical miles at 11 knots.

Columbus Yachts may be a relatively new player in the marine game, but it’s certainly come out swinging. The Italian yard, which is a subsidiary of Palumbo Superyachts, has just added not one but two new luxury vessels to its burgeoning fleet.
Measuring 121 feet and 180 feet, respectively, the superyachts are part of the new Atlantique line that launched last year with a 141-footer dubbed the Atlantique 43 .

The yard says this series is devoted to “elegance and versatility,” and at first blush, the new yachts appear to deliver on that promise. Penned inside and out by Hotlabs, each Atlantique has a silhouette inspired by the yachts of a bygone era along with a touch of sportiness that recalls classic Italian grand tourers.
Atlantique 37. Columbus Yachts
The Atlantique 37 is characterized by sporty lines and a refined interior that totals less than 300 GT. The layout comprises four double cabins with ensuites on the lower deck, one owner’s suite on the main deck and two dining areas that cater for up to 10 seafarers. Outdoors, there’s a panoramic pool to the aft and two garages that can collectively hold two tenders and a rescue boat.
Compact but capable, the Atlantique 37 is equipped with twin Man 1400 hp engines that give the vessel a top speed of 15 knots and a cruising speed of 13 knots.
The Atlantique 55, meanwhile, has been named the new flagship of the line and is also the largest of the trio. With a generous volume of 900 GT, the vessel is spread across four decks for maximum comfort.
The main deck is available in two layouts, both with the owner’s cabin forward. The first option sees the addition of a gym with its own private balcony while the second includes an extra VIP cabin plus a private balcony off the owner’s cabin. The lower deck sports another four guest cabins as well as seven crew cabins.
Atlantique 55. Columbus Yachts
As for amenities, the superyacht features a large “scenographic” swimming pool flanked by sun lounges on the main deck, a second pool located on the sundeck, plus a host of tenders and jet skis that will be stored in the forward garage.
The yard did not share details regarding the Atlantique 55’s propulsion setup at this time.
“Modernity, elegance, sophistication are the ingredients that make the design of the Atlantique line a beacon in the yachting market,” the yard said in a statement.
The market appears to be responding favorably to the line, too. The launch of the Atlantique 43 was promptly followed up by the sale of the first hull .
With vessels like this, Columbus Yachts certainly appears to be a player to watch.

COLUMBUS Yachts – Operating Since 2008
Columbus Yachts is known for its luxury vessels with sleek designs, custom interiors, and eco-friendly motors.
The family-run company offers comfort and elegance on the water with its signature Italian flair. The company has a global reach using its 50 years of experience producing luxury yachts.
COLUMBUS yachts
The Palumbo family founded Columbus Yachts in 1967. Three generations have expanded the company to now include several shipyards and create top-of-the-line luxury yachts.
They have shipyards all over the Mediterranean, including Ancona, Malta, Marseille, Naples, and Savona. The Palumbo’s are experienced yachtsmen and interact directly with clients on their needs and specifications.
The company began as a small Mediterranean carpentry and welding shop. In 2008, the family expanded their operations with the finest exterior and interior yacht designers to create the Columbus Yacht Company. The shipyard released its first yacht in 2011, titled “PRIMA.”
Since that launch, the company has continued to launch luxury superyacht lines that include a more recent hybrid and eco-friendly yacht design.
The yacht has proved very popular amongst young and older yachters, with its features that include limiting fuel consumption and dangerous toxins.
The shipyard now offers four yacht lines, Atlantique, Crossover, Sport, and Classic, in addition to building fully custom vessels.
The company boasts several generations’ worth of experience, craftsmanship, and know-how in developing top-class quality craftsmanship and sophistication.
The company produced superyachts through their superyacht division, Palumbo Superyachts. This company also operates ISA Yachts, Columbus Yachts, Mondomarine, Extra Yachts, and Palumbo SY Refit.
COLUMBUS yachts notable launches
The PRIMA was Columbus Yachts’ first foray into the luxury superyacht building. But they didn’t stop there. The company continues to produce awe-inspiring yachts for its international client base.
DIVINE is a 40m sports Hybrid Yacht with two diesel motors for a 22 knots speed and 15 knots cruising speed. The yacht features Palumbo and Hydro Tech designs that offer the best hybrid technology.
The interior is spacious and open and has a tri-deck aluminum structure. DIVINE received “Green” ratings for its environmental friendliness.
OCEANIC is one of Columbus Yacht’s large classic 70m vessels. The yacht features a collaborative design from Vafiadis & Assoc, featuring an elegant interior.
Palumbo’s GLOBAL EXPLORER was built to travel the oceans of the world. It is comfortable and offers a luxury travel experience.
Columbus continues marking the way forward for luxury yachts in the hybrid vessel sector. With their 50 years of experience, they continue to break ground on awe-inspiring vessel construction for their clients, to who they are devoted.

Columbus Yachts reveals 43m Atlantique superyacht line
Columbus Yachts has revealed the 43 metre Atlantique superyacht series.
Three hulls will be launched in the new series by the Italian brand, with exterior and interior design undertaken by Milan-based studio Hot Lab .
The superstructure of the Columbus Atlantique, inspired by Italian supercar design, is unique for its low profile and sporty lines that help bring the decks as close as possible to the water.
Inside, owners can customise the cabin layout to their preferences, choosing between five cabins plus a sun deck, or six cabins with the entirety of the upper deck reserved for the owner.
The owner’s deck is completed with a king-size bed surrounded by full-length windows, a dressing room and a completely private aft terrace. There are also four double ensuite cabins for crew, located forward on the lower deck.
A defining feature on board the new motor yacht is the beach club. The area is dominated by a large panoramic swimming pool that sits just 50 centimetres above the waves and is brought even closer to the water with the addition of fold-out balconies to connect guests with the natural world.
For an alternative view, an additional swimming pool can be found at the bow, surrounded by generous sunpads and an al fresco lounge space.
Other amenities on board include an al fresco dining table for 12 guests, a generous saloon with a dedicated cinema area and an adaptable guest room that can be used as a gym or library.
A 5.5 metre tender garage is located aft, with additional storage space for a second tender or rescue boat alongside two waverunners located on the The main deck forward.
The superyacht amenities of the Columbus Atlantique are all wrapped up in an eco-friendly package; solar panels, water purifiers, and a low fuel consumption propulsion system will ensure minimal environmental impact and increased efficiency when she hits the water.

Mystery leads young girl around the world in Douglas Westerbeke's debut novel
In 1885, a 9-year-old Parisian girl, cursed or blessed with a disease that forces her to stay in constant motion, sets out around the world, at first with her bewildered mother, but soon on her own, in an adventure that will last for decades.
Aubry Tourvel, the youngest of three daughters and possessed of a “spoiled, headstrong personality,” is living an ordinary life when she finds – or perhaps is found by – a mysterious puzzle ball, which follows her even when she leaves it behind.
When she refuses to drop it into a wishing well with a human face, as instructed by her sisters, she suddenly begins to suffer from a disease that causes severe convulsions and uncontrollable bleeding.
Literary Review: Story of 'Pill Mill Killer' outlined in Eil's new haunting tale
As she discovers by accident, the only cure is to get away into a new location, which leads to her crisscrossing the globe many times over, never able to stay in one spot for more than about three days without life-threatening consequence, and never allowed to return to a place she has already visited.
Along the way, she makes a cherished spear to kill food and defend herself, and picks up temporary friends and lovers, getting to know people as she travels on boats or trains, which allow the luxury of longer acquaintanceship, and occasionally being joined by people fascinated by her.
She also finds, while attempting to cross the Himalayas, a secret network of magical libraries, extending for miles, complete with food for when she is hungry, with exits into unpredictable parts of the world. While she can't access the entry points to the libraries by will, they seem to appear whenever she is desperate.
In his debut novel, Douglas Westerbeke, for many years a librarian at the Cleveland Public Library, writes with a light and beguiling touch, and knows how to structure a story. The story loops and jumps through time as Aubry, a captivating and resilient character, relates tales from her past to those she meets along the way.
More: Poet, former Columbus resident Joy Sullivan shares insights into her work and life
Even with its outlandish premise, Westerbeke grounds the novel in the textural details of the many places Audry journeys through, and the physical and emotional challenges she faces as her life evolves through the decades.
Readers may not envy Aubry her plight, but sharing her journey from an armchair is pure pleasure.
At a glance
Westerbeke is to appear for a conversation with Bexley Public Library director Ben Heckman at 7 p..m. April 30 at the Bexley Public Library Auditorium, 2411 E. Main St., Bexley.
Admission is free, but registration is required at bexleylibrary.org .
