After completing a bear grylls style mission to find The Cove, We inadvertently stumbled across the coves security- a single metal gate with a code needed to gain access. Encased in the gulf of Abersoch beach, the sun beaming down onto the terrace, there really... was no other option than having a drink on the terrace first. The smell of the afternoon pizzas were tempting, however, after catching a glimpse of a main meal inside, it would’ve been silly not too wait. Seated on a 6 person table next to the window, the view to the left was unbelievable; the view infront not so much- a half peeled sticker on a condensated, unwashed window , nonetheless, my eyes were fixated on the menu anyway. Fish cakes for starter, succulent, tender fish swimming in zingy lemongrass and chilli flavouring, the only problem was... i wasn’t sure my main was going to beat it! It did. Cod loin and Prawn thai curry, an authentic Welsh meal some may say?! Served with Jasmine rice, the fish melted in my mouth. The £19 pound price tag perhaps should’ve offered more than 3 prawns, however, the chunks of fresh cod swimming in the Thai yellow sauce made up for it. Undoubtedly the best meal had in Abersoch over a busy, sunny May bank holiday weekend, Rounded off with a more than pleasant experience at the Cove. Would definately return, and maybe offer a complementary window clean for them too 😉. More

Booking was completed by e-mail Gate pass code given at that time. 2 hour slot for allocated meal for two, although could be extended if wanted when eating at 8pm, as unlikely that customers coming in at 10pm. Menu: Starters around £7.50. Mains from £17... to £27( Steak) Deserts around £6.50 Food tasted lovely. Atmosphere fun, super to have adults only. Quiet back ground music. Felt a little on the expensive side regards Value for Money but certainly enjoyed the evening More

On arrival it was not clear how to access the restaurant and we could only find a locked gate. We were lucky that a couple were just leaving and the asked us for the code to get it. We had not been told we needed... a code but we showed them the email confirmation that we had booked and they let us through. Inside it is very nice and has amazing views across Abersoch bay. The food we chose here was good but the service was very slow considering the restaurant was not that busy. We were seated at 7.00 and our order was taken almost immediately but it was another 50 minutes before our food came. We were not in a rush to eat but even so this felt like a long wait. I had the sirloin steak with black bean sauce and my husband the Thai yellow curry. They were both very tasty but the steak dish was not really hot enough. When the bill arrived we had been charged more than the menu price for the steak. When we queried it we were told that they had printed off the wrong menu and it should have been the price we were charged. They did however amend the bill for us but if we hadn't noticed we would have been over charged. More

The establishment boasts a truly stunning view and an enviable location, showcasing immense potential for a memorable experience. However, while the ambiance is captivating, some aspects require attention. The culinary offerings, though tasty, were marred by a limited selection and prices that were perceived as... excessive in relation to the quality. Regrettably, the service encountered fell short of expectations, characterised by noticeable delays. Nonetheless, the inherent beauty of the venue remains undeniable, necessitating dedicated efforts to address the operational areas that require improvement. With suitable refinement and attention to detail, this place has the potential to truly shine and offer a truly exceptional experience to its customers. More

Lovely views from our window table. The waiter came over to take our drinks order, whilst doing so he removed his visor and itched his eye ! Did he wash his hands before pouring our drinks? I ordered the veg meal black bean sauce served... with fried rice, on arrival it came with boiled rice, I mentioned it the waiter said “ I’ll check “ check what ? He came back several minutes later to say he would change it, which they did. We wanted another drink tried several times to attract 3 of them elbows on the bar chatting!! ! The water glasses were upside down on the table, anyone in hospitality should know that’s a no no. All in all the food was very good and tasty but the service needs polishing. After visiting The Lobster Catcher a few days earlier, they win hands down. Very professional. Also the blown glass panel needs replacing it makes the place look shabby! More

Having visited every eatery in Abersoch over the last 8yrs this is by far and away our favourite restaurant . The food is consistently of an excellent standard with a really friendly group of staff, Laura is always really helpful. The menu consists of some... lovely and reasonably priced local produce prepared by talented chefs. Yes the restaurant is a short walk from the village but is a beachfront location and has the most spectacular views across the bay. The biggest problem you will encounter is getting a reservation at the weekend in the summer months. We look forward to returning to the Cove when lock down is lifted, keep up the good work folks. More

We visited this restaurant last night and we couldn’t fault a thing! The Asian inspired menu had so many delicious dishes it was hard to select however we all chose well and the food was excellent. The wine list was good and the views were... simply stunning. What made this night the best of the holiday was the service. All the staff were attentive and pleasant - the ratio of staff to customer was perfect. The Covid measures were excellent, the tables spaced well apart with customers only being booked in every 20 minutes there was no queuing. Well done SCYC - a superb evening! More

Firstly, lets start with the good things. We were sat in the window with absolutely stunning views! We visited on a Sunday for father's day, to be told it was only roasts on the menu. This wasn't a problem and the beef, lamb and nut... roast was not awful. The roast potatoes were some of the best I'd had in a while. However, after being seated we had to wait about 30mins for drinks, and that was after we ended up going to the bar and asking for drinks. We then placed our food at the same time. Then we waited and waited for around another hour before we received our food, with no other drinks orders being taken. If this was a busy restaurant then I'd maybe understand. But we were one of four tables. The table next to us received starters and then mains before we received anything. More often than not there was no staff member behind the bar or front of house. The waitress was doing her best as they were clearly short staffed, but the wait on food was not her fault. We were understanding they were short, but there was only 4 tables, we shouldn't have had to wait as long as we did. Roasts are one of the easiest things to do and turn around quickly, and considering it was father's day and for the prices we would have expected better. One of the group last visited October 2022 and was blown away by the food and the service. I'm not sure if it's changed hands since then or what has changed but they really need to have a re think of their service, it's such a beautiful venue, just really let down by the wait and service. But as initially said the roast wasn't horrendous and everyone was so hungry that plates were all finished. More

Disgracefully slow service. Three very young staff running the restaurant, two of who were on their 1st day, and the third was too young too serve drinks. We arrived just before 7pm and after waiting an hour for an easy pate' & sourdough starter to... arrive, we decided to leave without having any food at all; in search of an alternative establishment in Abersoch village.. We since learned from locals that the new Owners are relying on the previous owners reputation. However, the previous owners/two guys who ran a very successful and highly rated restaurant left at the beginning of January 2023. Don't go there, find an alternative option in Abersoch and there are lots of choices. More

We were able to obtain a table at 6.30 and a table by the window so we were able to watch the high tide come in as the sun set behind us. Beautiful setting. The service was excellent, friendly, prompt and very efficient. All three... courses had attractive options with real flair in the combination of flavours. A good, reasonably priced, wine list helped towards making this a most enjoyable evening. More

Disappointing service. Food was lovely though! We were seated at 7.30. Starters came pretty quick. Mains took ages. We noticed that the table next to us who were seated after us had their mains before us. When the mains were finally served mine came about... 5 mins after everyone else. Nobody came and asked if we wanted any drinks, we had to stop someone and ask. We were told by email we had to give the table back by 9.30 but by 9.15 we hadnt been asked if we wanted dessert so we asked for the bill. Bit disappointed as was looking forward to this for my birthday. Potted lobster the night before was amazing though ! More

Slow, bad attitude, puffing and blowing, rolling your eyes, your not going to make many friends or repeat customers. Sorry for the inconvenience. The kippers wee frankly terrible, out a bag, on dry toast. The full English looked ok and for a very similar price... I’d put put the food coloured stained piece of fish at a quarter of the price of the full English. More road side trailer than restaurant. Stick to flipping burgers. More

On Tuesday we went for our first fish club evening at the reopening since the COVID lockdown. Starters were excellent especially the chicken liver parfait. Main courses were also excellent... the lobsters were cooked to perfection (remember you’re book these) and crab risotto was absolutely... delicious but rich so easily shareable! Excellent service can’t wait to go back for bank holiday.. if we can get in! More

This restaurant has recently changed hands but this was my first visit. In fact we were the first booking for the new owners! Absolutely stunning position overlooking Abersoch Beach. Very tastefully decorated keeping a ‘beach’ feel. Reasonably priced quality food and extensive wine list. Both... my partner and I had a lamb and roast pepper skewer on flatbread with tzatziki for starter priced at £7.50. Delicious, well presented and a good portion. For mains I had belly pork and changed my mash for dauphinois as they are my favourite. No problem to the restaurant at all. Again delicious priced at £28. Well worth it. My partner had sea bass and was as equally impressed as I was. £20. All in all we had a very enjoyable evening, staff very attentive without being in your face. We will definitely return. I suggest booking well in advance as this place will be very popular More

The venue was hidden away at the yacht club and had been made into a excellent restaurant. This is all about the food ..so so very good clearly cooked by a very competent chef or chefs. Every mouthful was a delight to the tastebuds. The... staff were very helpful and attentive can’t wait to return..compliments to the chef More
