ACE Yacht – Splendid $160 M Superyacht

The ACE yacht was launched by Lürssen in 2012.

The 87m(285.4ft) superyacht is currently for sale at $160,000,000 after being used exclusively by the owner.

The unconventional design of the boat has brought great pleasure to guests and crew alike and features many toys and tenders to make the yachting experience memorable.

The boat has a running cost of $10-$15 million per year and is the 32nd largest boat built by Lürssen.

ACE yacht interior

The ACE yacht was closely influenced by the requirements of Yuriy Kosiuk to be a family-orientated yacht.

With his guidance, Winch Design took the unconventional designs of the owner to create an interior that aimed at having a good time with family and making life onboard work better.

To achieve this, the traditional layout of a superyacht was reorganized.

Several changes were made, including placing the owner’s suite facing aft and not upfront, allowing the owner privacy and panoramic views of the ocean.

The crew deck was built on the main deck, with sliding doors on the side deck to give them air, create happy working conditions, and attract the best crew.

The interior includes ten guests in 5 rooms and accommodation for 30 crew. The interior reflects a contemporary grand hotel with a light and fresh feel.

There is a Roman villa-inspired spa on the lower deck, a Russian tearoom, and a nightclub on the upper deck.

The main deck has a gym, and cinema and is large compared to the owner’s deck to allow more space for family fun.

The exterior features unique sweeping arches that appear wave-like on the haunches of the superstructure.

The superstructure is aluminum, and the hull is steel. ACE is a Lürssen construction designed by Winch Design.

The exterior reflects a seamless transition between the interior and exterior. The arches on the ACE yacht are meant to show the “fantastic power of a wave,” reflecting the passion and enthusiasm of the owner. ACE has several toys to aid in the fun of the family and the guests.

Specifications

With a length of 87m(285.4ft), the ACE yacht displaces 2732GT. The boat has a beam of 4.5m(47.6ft) and a draft of 3.75m(12.3ft).

Her 2 MTU engines give her a top speed of 16.5kn and a cruising speed of 14kn. The yacht has a range of 6500nm.

The boat features Quantum XT Zero stabilizers that afford a comfortable experience aboard ACE. She was built to Lloyd’s 100A1 specifications. The boat was built in 2012 and refitted in 2018.

Lürssen has remained a family-run German shipyard since its inception in 1875 and is now in its fourth generation of private ownership. The company was founded by Friedrich Lürssen with a desire to create a leading shipyard in both quality and performance.

Ace measures 85.00 metres in length, with a max draft of 3.85 metres and a beam of 14.44 metres. She has a gross tonnage of 2,732 tonnes. She has a deck material of teak.

Ace has a steel hull with an aluminium superstructure.

Winch Design is an award-winning design studio, established in 1986 as a specialist exterior and interior yacht designer, by Andrew Winch and his wife Jane.

Ace also features naval architecture by Lurssen Yachts.

The 87-metre superyacht  Ace  was built back in 2012 by the German shipyard  Lürssen  and refitted in 2018. Here, thanks to a recent photoshoot in Barcelona, we get an insight of what the vast and voluminous 2,732 GT yacht looks like inside.

Built for an experienced owner, the  superyacht is now for sale . She has only ever had one owner since new, and has only been privately used.

The yacht’s unique lines and beautiful interiors are a product of  Winch Design , who was the studio behind both her exterior and interior looks.  Winch ‘s state-of-the-art design includes oval balconies and large side-arches, complemented by a timeless, classic interior.

Ace  breaks the conventions of yacht interior layouts to optimise the onboard family living experience. She has a seamless inside to outside transition by way of design, and her upper deck dedicates almost 1,000 square metres to social spaces.

Ace  features accommodation for 10 guests across her six impressive staterooms. She is also capable of carrying up to 30 crew members onboard to ensure a relaxed journey. Although this is her current accommodation layout, builders say it would be possible for a future owner to convert the massage room into a sixth stateroom, which would then provide accommodations for 12 guests.

As well as a helipad, her main deck offers a cinema, gym and guest suites with easy access between them all. The master suite faces aft and offers unobstructed panoramic views with a small aft terrace providing a wind-sheltered area for the owner.

Unique port and starboard private staircases run directly from the owner’s deck all the way to the swim platform. That means the owner has no need to pass through any deck interiors.

The forward area of the dining saloon on the upper deck is a cosy sitting room and library area with a fireplace, piano and games table. This deck also includes a bespoke Russian tea room and nightclub.

Located aft on the lower deck,  Ace  features large tender garage doors for easy water access. She also has another opening in her hull which has the option to be utilised as a tender docking area and a beach-style swimming platform.

Ace  is also known for having travelled with the  recently-sold support vessel,  the 67.15-metre  Garçon . The  Damen -built support vessel was the Dutch shipyard’s first large support vessel and provided  Ace  with tender, crew, provisioning and helicopter support.

The pair of yachts and their crew have also been involved in environmental  clean-up missions in the past. Powered by twin MTU 16V 4000 M61R diesel engines,  Ace  can cruise comfortably at 12 knots and reaches a top speed of 17 knots.

Her interior layouts are what you would expect on a larger yacht thanks to some simple design tricks including mirrored window mullions, fluid free standing furniture and simplicity rather than minimalist. Her look and feel centre around a few carefully chosen materials and textures, with light oak, marble, soft leather, light coloured fabric and dark metal blended together and bathed in natural light.t.

O ne man’s personalized luxury yacht may not suit another’s tastes, not due to inferior quality, but because it fails to resonate with the new owner’s preferences. This truth was exemplified by the transformation of Lurssen’s renowned superyacht, Ace.

Launched in 2012, Ace, an 85-meter vessel with interior and exterior design by Andrew Winch, was tailored for Ukrainian billionaire Yuriy Kosiuk. Boasting 2,723 GT of interior volume, it catered to Kosiuk’s vision of a family-centric retreat equipped with unprecedented luxuries and innovative design elements.

Despite being a symbol of opulence, Ace was later listed for sale in 2020, eventually finding a new owner after a slight price adjustment. Post-acquisition, the yacht underwent a significant refit, including a name change to Eye, symbolizing a fresh chapter under anonymous ownership.

Eye’s transformation, conducted at MB92 in Barcelona, Spain, was shrouded in secrecy, culminating in a redesign that eliminated Ace’s distinctive “eyes” feature, opting for a more conventional aesthetic.

While the exterior alterations may suggest a departure from its predecessor’s identity, the interior remains undisclosed, leaving speculation about the extent of modifications and whether Eye will enter the charter market.

Ace features at-anchor stabilizers providing exceptional comfort levels.

When not cruising Ace has onboard an incredible selection of water toys and accessories for you and your guests to connect with the waters around you. Take to the sea on the Jet Skis offering you power and control on the water. Extreme sports fans will appreciate the included Kite Surfers. In addition there are three SEABOBs, that allow you to skim along the surface or steer under the crystal water and experience life swimming with the fish. The owner of a $3.4 million Lamborghini yacht screamed 'I will kill you' and threw $100 bills into the water when told he couldn't use a private dock

• The owner of a Lamborghini yacht threatened a private dock employee, per CBS8.
• The employee said Ajay Thakore mooned and threw cash at him after being told he couldn't use the dock.
• Thakore, the CEO of Doctor Multimedia, issued an apology through his public relations team.

The owner of a $3.4 million Lamborghini yacht threatened a private dock employee after being told he couldn't be there, the San Diego-based broadcaster CBS8 reported on March 11.

Joseph Holt, a 21-year-old employee at Marriot Marina in San Diego, told CBS8 that he spotted the yacht sailing into the private dock. The owner, whom CBS8 identified as Ajay Thakore, tried to pick another person up at the dock, Holt said.

"I told him respectfully that he couldn't be there, and I honestly was hoping to have a conversation with him about his cool boat," Holt told CBS8.

In a YouTube video posted by @SM-wc9eq on March 10, a dark blue Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63 is seen sailing out of a dock. A man in a gray T-shirt, a pair of jeans, and a cap was shown standing on the yacht. The man appeared to be Thakore, per CBS8.

Thakore was shown shouting at Holt. "I will kill you, you know I will kill you!" he can be heard saying multiple times in the video

Thakore was later shown pounding his fist on his palm and pointing his thumb down before telling Holt: "To your face!" Holt was shown responding by pointing his middle finger at Thakore.

"I really was trying to restrain myself from getting fired from my job or stepping out of line. The only thing I did was give him the bird," Holt told CBS8.

Related stories

Holt said Thakore then took $100 bills from his wallet and threw them at him. He added that Thakore mooned him. This exchange was not shown in the video.

"He was saying I'm nobody, I'm nothing, I work a silly job. He said that he knows people, he has connections, he can change my life and ruin it," Holt said. Holt did not immediately respond to Business Insider's request for comment.

The San Diego Harbor Police arrived at the marina 10 minutes after Thakore's yacht exited the dock, per CBS8.

The Harbor Police told Business Insider that Holt decided to press charges against Thakore and that they are investigating the incident.

According to Thakore's LinkedIn page , he's the CEO of Doctor Multimedia. The company's website shows that it's a healthcare marketing firm based in San Diego. Thakore appears to go by the name Ace Rogers on Instagram and TikTok, where he's noted as being a professional gambler.

Thakore, through his public relations team, told CBS8 in a statement that his altercation with Holt was "regrettable."

"What started as a minor misunderstanding escalated into an argument, and I apologize for my actions and to those who witnessed the unfortunate exchange," the statement said. Thakore did not immediately respond to a request for comment from BI.

Thakore isn't the only CEO who's been called out for threatening another person. In November 2021, an Activision spokesperson told BI that its ex-CEO Bobby Kotick had previously apologized for telling his assistant he would have her killed. The spokesperson added that Kotick's threat was "obviously hyperbolic and inappropriate" and that "he deeply regrets the exaggeration and tone."

In June 2020, Lisa Alexander, the CEO of LaFace Skincare, a cosmetics company, apologized in a statement to the media after she had threatened to call the police on her neighbor for writing "Black Lives Matter" on his property. Alexander said in the apology that she was "disrespectful" and "should have minded my own business."

85m Lürssen yacht Eye (ex Ace) transformed after multi-year rebuild

The 85-metre Lürssen superyacht Eye (ex Ace ) has been photographed for the first time in the Port of Gibraltar following a multi-year rebuild that has left her unrecognisable.

The superyacht checked into refit repair yard MB92 in spring 2022, likely following her sale to a new owner. She was renamed Eye in January 2024 and emerged from the yard just last month. 

Details of the rebuild have been kept tightly under wraps, but recent sightings confirm a complete exterior overhaul – including the removal of her trademark superstructure arches and "eye" balconies.

Eye was delivered by the German yard in 2012. The yacht is known to accommodate 10 guests across five cabins, with each cabin decorated with different themes including Art Deco, classical, contemporary nautical and French Provençal. The master cabin sits on the main deck aft and benefits from a private terrace.

Onboard highlights include a cinema and a gym on the main deck, while a library with a fireplace, a piano and a games table can be found on the upper deck. However, the extent of the work done on Eye 's interiors is yet to be revealed.

This follows the 91.5-metre Oceanco Tranquility 's light refit at MB92 last year .

The three-month stint left her in good condition for the most recent summer charter season and included a number of cosmetic upgrades.

Thousands of Indian farmers protest in New Delhi demanding a law guaranteeing minimum crop prices

NEW DELHI (AP) — Thousands of farmers protested in India’s capital on Thursday to press their demand for a new law that would guarantee minimum crop prices, after weeks of being blocked from entering the city.

They rode crowded buses and trains instead of their tractors to New Delhi after authorities barricaded highways into the capital with cement blocks and barbed wire. Police also banned use of farm vehicles as a condition for granting permission for the rally in the city. Participants were also barred from carrying sticks or swords to avoid clashes with police.

The protesters held placards demanding free electricity for farming. They contended that without minimum price guarantees for their crops, they would be at the mercy of the markets and that would spell disaster, especially for the more than two-thirds of them who own less than 1 hectare (2 1/2 acres) of land.

The rally, organized by the United Farmers Front, was held at Ramlila Ground, which is used for religious festivals, major political meetings and entertainment events.

Police also set a condition for the rally that no more than 5,000 people would participate, the Press Trust of India news agency said. The rally was scheduled to end later Thursday.

Chitwant Singh, a protester, said farmers didn’t earn enough to cover their costs. “The traders and middlemen take away all our profits,” he said.

The protests come at a crucial time for India, which has a national election in April-May in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s governing party is widely expected to secure a third successive term. Farmers are a particularly influential voting bloc because of their numbers. More than 60% of India’s 1.4 billion people depend on farming for their livelihoods.

The farmers are also pressing the government to keep its promises to waive loans and withdraw legal cases brought against them during earlier protests in 2021. Several rounds of talks have failed to break the deadlock.

Separately, thousands of farmers have been protesting in Shambhu, a town about 200 kilometers (120 miles) from the capital, since Feb. 13.

Authorities have barricaded highways leading to New Delhi with cement blocks, metal containers, barbed wire and iron spikes to prevent the farmers from entering the capital. The farmers have brought bulldozers and excavators to try and push through.

On Feb. 21, clashes between farmers and police left one protester dead as the farmers tried to resume their march to the capital after talks with the government failed to end an impasse over their demands for guaranteed crop prices.

Police said 12 officers were injured after protesters attacked them with sticks and pelted them with stones.

The farmers paused their protest and have camped near Shambhu, close to the border between Punjab and Haryana states, as their unions engaged in discussions with government ministers.

They rejected a proposal offering them five-year contracts with guaranteed prices for certain crops including maize, grain, legumes and cotton.

Two years ago, tens of thousands of farmers camped out on the outskirts of New Delhi for months, forcing Modi to repeal new agriculture laws in a major reversal for his government.

Jagjit Singh Dallewal, one of the farmers leading Thursday’s protest, said they did not want any violence and condemned the government for the massive security measures.

Protest organizers say the farmers are seeking a law that would guarantee minimum prices for 23 crops to help stabilize their incomes.

The government protects agricultural producers against sharp falls in farm prices by setting a minimum purchase price for certain essential crops, a system that was introduced in the 1960s to help shore up food reserves and prevent shortages. The system can apply to up to 23 crops, but the government usually offers the minimum price only for rice and wheat.
