CANCELLATION POLICY – Payment for the charter is non-refundable once your boat is booked and the deposit has been received. In the case of unavoidable cancellation, any money received by Waypoints will be forfeited.

CANCELLATION INSURANCE FEE – The Cancellation Insurance Fee of $200 will be automatically added to your booking. You have the option to decline this fee prior to making the initial deposit. Once the deposit has been made, this becomes non-refundable. Please read our Cancellation Policy below.

If a charter is canceled within 91 or more days of embarkation, a $300.00 administration fee will be deducted from the deposit monies. Alternatively, all funds paid can be held on account and applied to a new charter within 24 months.
If the charter is canceled within 90 and prior to 61 days of embarkation, the penalty is 50% of the total charter fee, including the sleep aboard fee. Alternatively, all funds paid can be held on account and applied to a new charter within 24 months.
If the charter is canceled within 60 days to 31 days of embarkation, the full charter fee, including the sleep aboard fee, is forfeited less the cost of additional extras. Alternatively, 50% of the total charter fee can be held on account and applied to a new charter within 24 months.
If the charter is canceled within 30 days of embarkation, the full charter fee, including the sleep aboard fee, is forfeited less the cost of additional extras, except for pre-paid Skipper fees.

Cancellation insurance can only be used once. In the event of cancellation, where Cancellation insurance is used and a charter is rebooked, the new dates are considered non-refundable. Cancellation insurance is not available to purchase for ‘rebooked’ charters. In the event of a refund, Credit card surcharges, wire transfer fees or any fees occurring through any other method of payment will not be refunded.

Originally from Zimbabwe, Robbie was brought up on a farm with a love for the outdoors, sport and a keen sense for adventure. His hobbies also include golf and darts but his favorite from a young age was and always has been fishing, whether it’s fresh water or deep sea. After school, he moved to South Africa to play professional rugby, but it was not long before he decided on it being an unlikely permanent career choice. He turned towards scuba diving instead, despite the cold waters of Cape Town and worked his way up to becoming an instructor. After a few years of this, Robbie grew keen to search for warmer water to dive in and accepted a job in Raja Ampat, Indonesia. The travel bug set in, Captain’s ticket in hand and many nautical miles later, there is nothing that Robbie loves more than finding new places to have fun in, both above and under the water.

Born and raised in the landlocked country of Zimbabwe, Sofia’s love for water originated whilst growing up as a national swimmer and waterpolo player. Working throughout studying within restaurants and catering, it gave her an opportunity to build up experience in hospitality, develop professionalism within the service industry but most of all appreciate different cuisines. After graduating from University of Cape Town, South Africa with a Social Science degree, Sofia realized she wasn’t motivated towards a formal office setting and sought after a career in which she could combine her love of travel with learning new skills. Discovering the world of yachting she has since worked in the Mediterranean, Australia, Indonesia, Florida and the Caribbean. Being able to explore new places and gain a passion for cooking along the way has been a dream realized.

Robbie and Sofie met in Singapore, soon found common ground of similar roots and have been working together within the industry since then for the last 5 years. Their combined passion for food, travel and most of all the ocean has brought them together to love what they do. They have been lucky enough to get to know some extraordinary, remote locations around the world but also appreciate being able to share time with family and friends in their home country, Zimbabwe.

As a team, they love being able to entertain, share stories and meet new people to learn theirs. Robbie and Sofie are keen on keeping charters light-hearted while making it a priority to go above and beyond so that their guests always have an adventure to remember.

Kirsten, a native of South Africa, grew up enjoying the pleasant climate and taking part in various outdoor activities, such as photography, swimming, and showjumping. She excelled in golf and earned several titles and a place on provincial teams before scuba diving captured her imagination during her first dive in the ocean. She attended the University of Johannesburg where her studies in Industrial Design deepened her appreciation of the ocean ecosystem and sparked a passion for developing projects to address ocean conservation. As her interest in photography shifted to the underwater world, she found herself drawn to a non-traditional career and pursued full-time work in diving and sailing. She honed her skills in Tuna fishing and spearfishing while working for a fishing charter company in Cape Town. Today, her love for the ocean and marine life remains one of her greatest passions.

C’EST LA VIE spends the summer and winter season in US Virgin Islands. She was delivered by the ship builder Lagoon in 2022. ROBERT ‘ROBBIE’ SARGENT Originally from Zimbabwe, Robbie was brought up on a farm with a love for the outdoors, sport and a keen sense for adventure. His hobbies also include golf and darts but his favorite from a young age was and always has been fishing, whether it’s fresh water or deep sea. After school, he moved to South Africa to play professional rugby, but it was not long before he decided on it being an unlikely permanent career choice. He turned towards scuba diving instead, despite the cold waters of Cape Town and worked his way up to becoming an instructor. After a few years of this, Robbie grew keen to search for warmer water to dive in and accepted a job in Raja Ampat, Indonesia. The travel bug set in, Captain’s ticket in hand and many nautical miles later, there is nothing that Robbie loves more than finding new places to have fun in, both above and under the water. Working throughout studying within restaurants and catering, it gave her an opportunity to build up experience in hospitality, develop professionalism within the service industry but most of all appreciate different cuisines. After graduating from University of Cape Town, South Africa with a Social Science degree, Sofia realized she wasn’t motivated towards a formal office setting and sought after a career in which she could combine her love of travel with learning new skills. Discovering the world of yachting she has since worked in the Mediterranean, Australia, Indonesia, Florida and the Caribbean. Being able to explore new places and gain a passion for cooking along the way has been a dream realized. Robbie and Sofie met in Singapore, soon found common ground of similar roots and have been working together within the industry since then for the last 5 years. Their combined passion for food, travel and most of all the ocean has brought them together to love what they do. They have been lucky enough to get to know some extraordinary, remote locations around the world but also appreciate being able to share time with family and friends in their home country, Zimbabwe. As a team, they love being able to entertain, share stories and meet new people to learn theirs. Robbie and Sofie are keen on keeping charters light-hearted while making it a priority to go above and beyond so that their guests always have an adventure to remember. He thoroughly enjoyed sports throughout school which afforded him a position at the University of Pretoria, South Africa for his tertiary education studying Sport Science. He soon got the bug for traveling and particularly wanted to pursue his passion of sport fishing. He then joined a travelling sport fishing boat in 2013 and hasn’t stopped moving since. Dean got his Captain’s License shortly after that and started driving boats in remote areas. He has had the pleasure to fish competitively and recreationally in all oceans with some of the best crews in the world and gained a huge appreciation for the ocean and all things Maritime. Most of all, Dean is dedicated to providing the best service and experience that can be had on the water, to learn from others and to impart the knowledge that he has gained. The 42.9m/140'9" sail yacht 'La Belle' (ex. Vent D'est) was built by Vitters in the Netherlands at their Zwartsluis shipyard. Her interior is styled by British designer design house RWD and she was completed in 2002. This luxury vessel's exterior design is the work of Dubois and she was last refitted in 2019.

Guest Accommodation

La Belle has been designed to comfortably accommodate up to 8 guests in 4 suites. The supremely spacious full beam master suite incorporates its own study. She is also capable of carrying up to 6 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.

Range & Performance

La Belle is built with a aluminium hull and aluminium superstructure, with teak decks. La Belle comfortably cruises at 10 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 13 knots with a range of up to 3,300 nautical miles from her 21,840 litre fuel tanks. Her water tanks store around 8,875 Litres of fresh water. She was built to Lloyds Register classification society rules, and is MCA Compliant.

Offered by DMA Yachting, the astonishing charter yacht BELLE VIE is a 49 ft sailing catamaran. BELLE VIE spends the summer and winter season in British Virgin Islands. She was constructed by the renowned boatbuilder Bali Catamarans in 2020. The well-planned yacht layout features 4 cozy cabins and easily accommodates up to 8 guests.

BELLE VIE is presented primarily as a sailing catamaran. The central space of the yacht is the main saloon, which connects to the aft deck. The aft deck features a variety of seating areas and usually it where you, as a charter guest, spend most of your time. The tastefully decorated cabins offer designer mattrace beds and feature ensuite bathrooms. The cabins are located in the 2 massive hulls. Multiple portholes add to the feeling of connection with the discovered environment.

The sailboat features 2x57HP Yanmar 13Kw Onan Generator engines and a generator.

Captain Stella Sotomayor Stella is British and Spanish but was born and raised in The Netherlands. Growing up learning to sail on Lasers in Scotland, everything about the ocean always excited her. From lifeguarding, swim coaching, surfing, sailing, scuba diving, underwater videography and photography, her life and passions have always circulated around the sea. During her time at university in England, where she directed and edited short films, (some of which have been recognized in International film festivals), she spent her long summers working on sailing yachts. After having various roles in the yachting industry, she obtained her Yachtmaster Offshore Sail 200T license in Gibraltar and has worked on charters in Croatia, Greece, the Amalfi coast and Balearic Islands before moving to the BVI. With both of these experiences, lona is able to present and deliver a vast variety of cuisines. lona aims to impress and wow and is constantly experimenting with new ideas, always receiving outstanding reviews. lona has a Mediterranean cooking flare and loves working with both land and sea elements. After graduating with 2:1 degree in Economics from Oxford Brookes University, lona worked in the renowned Chelsea Harbour Design Centre, before following her passion for hospitality and starting her first yacht season in Mallorca where she met Stella. We were left wanting for nothing more. Everything we needed for the perfect vacation was available and in great working condition.<br /> <br /> Was the yacht well ventilated?<br /> Yes, we had no issues (as I have in the past!) with air conditioning or wind flow.<br /> <br /> Was the crew friendly and accommodating?<br /> The crew was spectacular. They provided the highest level of service possible. Everything, from the amazing food to the fantastic guidance on where to go and what to do, was perfect. I truly can't imagine a better crew to work with.<br /> We left our trip feeling as if we've made life long friends.<br /> <br /> Was the food good and well presented?<br /> The food was fantastic. It was delicious and the variety was great. Belinda really worked to understand our likes and dislikes and adjusted every meal to fit our needs perfectly. Since arriving home we've been craving Belinda's food!!<br /> <br /> Additional comments about the yacht and crew?<br /> Rob was a fantastic captain. Not only did he work tirelessly to keep the yacht in perfect shape but he was also a great guide during the trip. He catered our itinerary around the needs of our entire group. Whether that was extreme amounts of snorkeling for some or extreme relaxation and bar hopping for others. We all got what we wanted out of our week long vacation of a lifetime!<br /> <br /> Cruising Area <br /> Did you like the area you chartered in?<br /> The BVI's were incredible! I can't imagine a more beautiful location. He is an accomplished sailor with over 30,000 sea miles under his belt on a range of vessels.<br /> <br /> Worthy of mention was the family sailing adventure where Rob, Belinda and their 2 children embarked on a 4-year world cruise on their catamaran, Shayile. They cruised the East Coast of Africa, Indian Ocean, SE Asia, Indonesia, and Australia. <br /> <br /> Rob has a passion for the ocean and loves water sports. He is a qualified surf life saver, pilot, advanced diver, and avid fisherman. He has a particular passion for salt water flyfishing. He loves to go out and hopefully return with something delicious to toss on the BBQ. Mountaineering is Rob's other passion, and he has hours of adventures on mountains spanning the globe. His epic adventure to Mt. Everest is worth listening to over a cocktail sundowner!<br /> <br /> When Rob is not out skippering and entertaining, you will see him working in the galley with Belinda. Cocktails and the BBQ are part of Rob’s regime, and he knows the perfect stories to tell while you enjoy them!<br /> <br /> <br /> BELINDA BIO<br /> <br /> Born and raised on the East Coast of South Africa, Belinda has spent her life close to the sea, camping, swimming, scuba diving and fishing as well as hiking and climbing the inland Drakensberg mountains.<br /> <br /> She is a ‘people’s person’ and in addition to her culinary training, is also trained as a professional nurse, specializing in maternity. <br /> <br /> Belinda is a generous and passionate cook who has been influenced by travel and time spent in many different countries. She is particularly fond of Asian cuisine, Thailand, Malaysia, and Vietnam, but also enjoys spicy Mexican, Indian and Mediterranean influences.<br /> <br /> She loves to cook fish and seafood and pair it with local, fresh, seasonal ingredients. She enjoys bright and bold flavours, especially citrus notes which do well to compliment the Caribbean climate.
