A General Description of Motor Yacht VIVE LA VIE

This motor yacht VIVE LA VIE is a 60 m 198 (foot) large steel ship which was created at Lurssen Yachts and her design is by Lurssen and Espen Oeino. Accommodating 12 guests and 12 crew, motor yacht VIVE LA VIE was named (Project Bounty Hunter). The private motor yacht was designed by the naval architecture of Lurssen and Espen Oeino. Art-Line Interiors acted on the interior design.

She was the winner of the BEST DISPLACEMENT MOTOR YACHT OF 500GT TO 1,299GT (APPROX 50M - 59M) in the World Superyacht Awards 2009. The judges comments were: "In the end it was the consistency of the marks awarded across the full range of headings that counted, and in this respect Vive la Vie outclassed the field".

The Construction & Naval Architecture with respect to Luxury Yacht VIVE LA VIE

Lurssen was the naval architecture company involved in the technical nautical composition for VIVE LA VIE. Her interior design was realised by Art-Line Interiors. Lurssen and Espen Oeino is also associated with the yacht wider design collaboration for this boat. In 2008 she was formally launched with triumph in Bardenfleet and post sea trials and finishing touches was afterwards handed over to the new owner. Lurssen Yachts completed their new build motor yacht in Germany. The main hull was constructed with steel. The motor yacht superstructure is made predominantly from aluminium. With a beam of 11.4 metres or 37.45 ft VIVE LA VIE has spacious room.

Installed with twin CATERPILLAR diesel engines, VIVE LA VIE will reach a maximum speed of 18 knots. Coupled to the VIVE LA VIE engines are twin screw propellers. As for the yacht’s stabalisers she utilises Quantum.

Azimut-Benetti's history dates back to 1969, when enterprising young college student Paolo Vitelli founded Azimut Srl. Azimut was founded as a sailing boat chartering company and has since grown to become one of the world’s leading yacht builders with over 10,000 vessels to its name.

Pictures show inside of £493million businessman’s super yacht docked in Aberdeen Harbour

A super yacht belonging to a Swiss businessman arrived in Aberdeen harbour yesterday.

Social media erupted as the 195ft Vive La Vie berthed at Regent Quay at about 10.50am.

The yacht belongs to entrepreneur Willy Michel, who founded Ypsomed – a company that manufactures and distributes infusion systems in medicine.

The 67-year-old has owned Vive La Vie since 2008.

Designed by Monaco’s Espen Oino and built by German shipbuilder Lurssen, Viva La Vie was made exactly to Mr Michel’s specifications.

The yacht includes seven cabins comfortably housing 13 guests, as well as separate accommodation for crew.

A striking design feature is the interior stairwell, which includes glass bridges suspended in woven steel grids. An illuminated glass sculpture incorporated within the nearby glass elevator can change colour depending on the mood of the guests.

The most impressive cabin belongs to the owner, and includes a rotating circular platform beneath the bed, to make the most of spectacular views through the full-height windows.

The vessel, which is registered in the Cayman Islands, features various other luxury features including a gym, Jacuzzi, two on-board tenders, and a dining table which can be raised to ceiling height to create a disco space.

Vive La Vie arrived in Aberdeen from Torshavn, the capital of the Faroe Islands, after making stops in Lerwick and Stromness.

With a top cruising speed of 15.5 knots (17.8mph) and a cruising speed of 12 knots (13.8mph) the yacht has a maximum range of around 7,000 nautical miles, or almost three times the distance of London to New York.

The yacht is expected to remain in the harbour until Wednesday, but its next destination is not yet known.

Mr Michel lives in Schloss Gumligen, an 18th century castle in the municipality of Muri bei Bern, Switzerland, and works as CEO of the Ypsomed Group. Most recent figures, from 2012, show the businessman to have an estimated fortune of £493million.

ROBERT ‘ROBBIE’ SARGENT Originally from Zimbabwe, Robbie was brought up on a farm with a love for the outdoors, sport and a keen sense for adventure. His hobbies also include golf and darts but his favorite from a young age was and always has been fishing, whether it’s fresh water or deep sea. After school, he moved to South Africa to play professional rugby, but it was not long before he decided on it being an unlikely permanent career choice. He turned towards scuba diving instead, despite the cold waters of Cape Town and worked his way up to becoming an instructor. After a few years of this, Robbie grew keen to search for warmer water to dive in and accepted a job in Raja Ampat, Indonesia. The travel bug set in, Captain’s ticket in hand and many nautical miles later, there is nothing that Robbie loves more than finding new places to have fun in, both above and under the water. Working throughout studying within restaurants and catering, it gave her an opportunity to build up experience in hospitality, develop professionalism within the service industry but most of all appreciate different cuisines. After graduating from University of Cape Town, South Africa with a Social Science degree, Sofia realized she wasn’t motivated towards a formal office setting and sought after a career in which she could combine her love of travel with learning new skills. Discovering the world of yachting she has since worked in the Mediterranean, Australia, Indonesia, Florida and the Caribbean. Being able to explore new places and gain a passion for cooking along the way has been a dream realized. Robbie and Sofie met in Singapore, soon found common ground of similar roots and have been working together within the industry since then for the last 5 years. Their combined passion for food, travel and most of all the ocean has brought them together to love what they do. They have been lucky enough to get to know some extraordinary, remote locations around the world but also appreciate being able to share time with family and friends in their home country, Zimbabwe. As a team, they love being able to entertain, share stories and meet new people to learn theirs. Robbie and Sofie are keen on keeping charters light-hearted while making it a priority to go above and beyond so that their guests always have an adventure to remember.
