  • Michael T. February 6, 2021, 11:44 pm They do my monthly hull cleaning service. It is done on schedule and they do a good job. The billing is accurate and a good evaluation of the bottom paint condition. Would definitely recommend these guys. 0 0 Reply
  • Rodney D. July 11, 2020, 12:51 am This company is the biggest rip-off. The owner is rude, the schedule means nothing to them and the product is sub par. Go elsewhere. Seriously, the worst of the worst. 0 0 Reply
  • Roger January 3, 2019, 11:44 pm Bought my boat from them, they clean it monthly and I couldn’t be happier. Very easy to talk with and they go out of their way to ensure the customer is satisfied! 0 0 Reply
  • Harry S. July 5, 2017, 6:22 pm These guys are simply the best. They are very professional and responsive, you should give them a try. It's all about communication and whenever I asked for something they helped me out. 0 0 Reply
  • Ron B. July 2, 2016, 10:01 pm The most unprofessional business in long beach. They promise they will clean you boat and DO NOT do it. The told me the boat would be done thursday or friday at latest. They called me at 6:10 pm on a friday night and said they could not find a green duffy, even though i identified slip and street 3 times. no phone or text to ask where the boat is.DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM 0 0 Reply
  • Catherine M. October 5, 2015, 11:09 pm Excellent customer service from the first phone call to the actual boat service! They cleaned my Duffy boat and my kayak better than the previous company and at a good price too! 0 0 Reply

A fantastic experience with Rich. He communicated regularly and made the sale of our boat as smooth as possible. I will use him for every boat purchase and sale. Outstanding.

My family has been using Vaughts Yacht Sales and Hull Cleaning for over 10 years. We have purchased 3 boats via the yacht sales side of their business and they have cleaned bottoms on a dozen different pieces of floating stock varying from a 12' float to a 76' power boat. They have also successfully retrieved dropped tools and provided clear underwater photography of repairs or potential issues. Whenever I've called they have answered or responded in an appropriate amount of time. Rich, Andrew, Geoff and Bill either greet you with a smile or answer the phone with a friendly tone. Keep up the great work VYS!

This is a review regarding bottom cleaning service. I called the owner Rick to question whether the bottom cleaner was able to clean a 50 foot boat in under 10 minutes, after I saw the diver under our boat for less 10 minutes. He responded with vulgarity. I went so far as to ask him why he's using profanity and vulgarity when I am the one upset and feel he's ripping me off and at this point I am still calm and never did I swear. Rick is not the kind of person I'll ever do business with based on how he treats customers.

His hull cleaning service is sub-par, shoddy accounting/billing.

Just ok. Rich is easy to work with but the quality of accounting and cleaning is just ok.

I used Vaught's for a recent boat purchase and am really happy with my decision! Bill McD was incredibly helpful with not only the negotiation on the purchase price, but also recommending surveyors and repairmen for the inevitable post-purchase fixes. I couldn't be happier with their service and would recommend Rich and Bill to anyone!

So grateful to Raphael and Colin, employee/divers who helped my rowing partner out of the water this morning. They not only helped her right the boat but fished her oars, hat and water bottle out of the water. They also assisted her in getting her boat back to the beach. If they are an example of the type of employees there, then I would not hesitate to highly recommend them!

We're longtime boat owners and have owned a number of boats. We've been using Vaught's Yacht Service for many years. They've taken care of our boats from a 13' RIB to a 50' Ocean Alexander and also the pontoon floats at our dock which lift the RIB out of the water. They're honest, reliable and reasonably priced. The owner, Rich Vaught, is an experienced, honest and reputable yacht broker we've also relied upon for the purchase and sale of a number of our boats. He and his Vaught's Yacht Service are trusted, valuable resources. This sounds just like a paid advertisement but it's not.

Super nice! I dropped my iphone with waterproof case into the bay and was determined to get it back! I called these guys randomly to see if there was any chance that they would swing by and look for it with me since they have underwater scuba gear. I am sorry I don't recall their names, but the man who answered the phone sent a guy to help me that same morning. Within 2 minutes the diver found the phone! So exciting, and my phone still works just fine! Not only do these guys clean and service boats, but they do good deeds and help their neighbors with random search and recover missions! THANK YOU so much!

General Comments About the Website

FROM Donald:  " This is an awesome website. I found the information that I needed right away from one of the over 20,000 free articles that you provide as a public service. I'm surprised that so much if this site is free. But I still signed up so I could access the thousands of expanded pages, interesting articles, and dozens of valuable programs! The member's library of books, magazines and videos that I can view online is really terrific! I understand that you and your staff are all unpaid volunteers. Please keep up the good work. And I commend you for your plans to add another 10,000 free informative articles over the next year. I'm thrilled to support you in this endeavor with my small membership donation. Thanks again for all your hard work. "

FROM Huey:  " I agree with my Uncle, I too have found the articles to be very enlightening. They say that it will take about 100,000 articles to cover the full scope that they have envisioned for the website. They have over 20,000 articles so far and that's doing pretty well, but it could take several years to get the rest. I also noticed that many of the Main Topic Pages and some of the article pages are still in the rough draft stage. I guess that they will fill in as they can get volunteers to work on them. But what I can't figure out is why anyone would spend the time writing informative in depth articles just to give away free to this website for publication? What's in it for them? "

FROM Dewey:  " Well Huey, to me It looks like most of the articles on this website are written by very informed people, like boating instructors, boat designers, boat builders, riggers, electricians, fitters, marine repair technicians and marine surveyors. Writing such articles helps establish them as knowledgeable professionals. After all, this website was originally created by a school for marine technicians and marine surveyors. The website is growing in content every day. They even had to move to a bigger, more powerful server because the website's traffic has been growing exponentially. "

FROM Louie:  " I agree with everyone above. This site is quickly becoming the ultimate reference resource about every aspect of boats and ships for everyone from the beginning recreational boater to the seasoned professional mariner. I use the topic pages on the right sidebar to browse around the website. It's like a Junior Woodchucks' Guidebook for Boaters. Their Members' Library of over 300 popular and obscure books and over 200 magazine back issues that can be viewed online is fabulous. The Academy's magazine is especially informative. On top of that, there is the "Ask-An-Expert program for members where you can get an expert's answer to any of your boat questions. And a whole years membership is only $25. What a deal! I really love being part of this "Everything About Boats" community and help provide thousands of helpful articles free to the public. I think that I'll sit down right now and write an article about my experiences boating with my uncle. "

FROM Scrooge: " You rave about this website like it was the best thing since sliced bread. Well, I think it stinks. Sure, it has a lot of good information for boaters, and they're adding more every day, but it will probably never be finished. Furthermore, I don't even own a boat. And I wouldn't have a boat even if someone gave me one. Boats are a waste of money and time and energy and money! They're just a hole in the water you pour money into. If you gave me a boat, I'd sell it quicker then you could say Baggywrinkle. Then I'd lock up the cash with all my other money so I could keep my eye on it and count it every day. Bah humbug. "

FROM Daisy:  " I'm just so glad that Donald got the boat so we and the boys could enjoy boating — together. And of course all of the girls, April, May, and June, love to be on the water too, especially when that is where the boys are. Oh poor Scrooge, boating is more fun then you could possibly imagine. "

FROM Scrooge: " After seeing how much fun you all have on the water together, I regret that I didn't have that much fun when I was young. I've had a change of heart, and I'm giving each of you a Lifetime Academy Membership . "

FROM Editor:  " For those of you that have stayed with us this far, many thanks, and we hope that you found this little narrative informative. Your faithful support inspires us to keep working on this phenomenal website. We know that we have a lot more to do. Ultimately, we hope that we can help you enjoy the wonder filled world of boating as much as we do. We are all waiting to see what you have to say about this webpage article. Submit any comments via email To: Comments♣EverythingAboutBoats.org (Replace "♣" with "@"). Be sure to include this page's title in the subject line. Also, your corrections, updates, additions and suggestions are welcomed. Please submit them via email To: Editor♣EverythingAboutBoats.org (Replace "♣" with "@"). It has been truly amazing to see what we have been able to accomplished when we've worked together. Thanks to all those that have donated their valuable time and energy, and a special THANK YOU to all that have supported this cause with their membership donations. "

Lexus LY680 Luxury Yacht

The luxury yacht, or LY for short, was designed to “feel like a hideout in the middle of the sea,” according to Lexus. The exterior reflects the automaker’s “L-finesse” design philosophy, with curvy, head-turning lines and a sharp bow creating a sporty profile.

Lexus LY680 Luxury Yacht

The interior centers around a “comfortable living space,” Lexus says. With a beam of nearly 19 feet, the yacht offers a decent amount of space onboard, too. The nameplate didn’t divulge many details regarding decor, but Italian design powerhouse Nuvolari Lenard spearheaded the interior design of the 650. In terms of layout, the 680 is equipped with three cabins on the lower deck and a light-filled salon, galley, and helm station on the main deck.

The exterior is bigger—and perhaps better—than that of the 650. The flybridge has been extended by about 4.5 feet and adorned with a plush lounge and grill. The aft swim platform has also been lengthened by roughly 2.3 feet.

In terms of performance, the 680 will be powered by a pair of 12.8-liter turbocharged Volvo D13 engines capable of delivering 1,350 hp each to IPS drives. (The yacht can also be equipped with slightly less powerful 1,050 hp engines.) The 650 sported the same propulsion system and could reach 33.5 knots at full tilt.
