Sail aboard the original Golden Eagle Catamaran known for its 5 star service and professional crew that will attend to your every need. Sail gently down the scenic coast of St. Maarten viewing Fort William, Pelican Point, Simpson Bay and the famous St. Maarten "airport beach", with planes landing just feet over the mast. After a brief orientation you’ll be ready to snorkel in the crystal clear waters of Little Bay. Next, you’ll stop at a beautiful white sand beach, where you can swim in a quiet cove or relax on the beach for 45 minutes up to 1 hour, time permitting.

On the return, the crew sets the sails, as you listen to great music, enjoying an open bar with free champagne, rum punch, sodas, and gourmet ham and cheese sandwiches served on fresh baked French baguettes. Snorkel equipment and pool noodles are included. The vessel is fast, stable, and has plenty of shade with custom built stairs for easy access to the water.

On this excursion you will:

• Ride aboard the “Golden Eagle”.
• Enjoy an open bar and light snacks while sailing at speeds up to 15 knots.
• Count the Flying fish or watch the dolphins while you lie in the nets or laze in the shade of the 80-foot sail.
• Stop at a quiet cove to snorkel in the crystal clear waters or bob around on a beach float.

Great St. Maarten Catamaran Cruise

On Saturday January 25th, 2020, from the town of Philipsburg, St. Maarten, my wife and I took an NCL shore excursion PHIL0911, namely the Golden Eagle Sail Away & Swim for a duration of four hours. We left the ship NCL Bliss early morning to meet at the pier around 8:15 am. We then went for a long walk to the other end of the Harbour where the Golden Eagle IV was docked. Golden Eagle Catamaran is operated by Out Island Charters. Before boarding we were asked to remove our shoes to ensure the safety and cleanliness of the deck. We were not overcrowded but the catamaran was very busy. The vessel was fast, stable, and had plenty of shade. During the cruise, people sat in the shade on the lower deck or up on the upper deck for sunbathing. One of the first task the staff did was to mix a few gallons of fruit and rum punch with ice in front of us. Cruising gently following the scenic coastline of St. Maarten we passed by Fort William in Great Bay, Pelican Point in Lay Bay. Then we stopped for a short period at the snorkel area where masks and flippers were supplied to snorkelers and floatie noodles were also available for people swimming. I stayed on board and had a great time. Then we cruised by the famous Maho Beach in front of Princess Juliana International Airport where planes took off or landed just over the beach just above the crowds. Finally, we stopped in Simpson Bay just east of the airport, a beautiful white sand beach where we swam in a quiet cove in super clear and warm waters or relaxed on the beach for 1½ hours. The beach was a little rough, but the sun was hot and great. Back on board while listening to popular music, the Golden Eagle crew served us complimentary rum punch and small French bread rolls of ham and cheese. Other cold drinks were available such as sparkling wine, beer and sodas. Cruisers enjoyed themselves with this breathtaking scenery and beautiful weather. We had a good time and relaxed and would rate this excursion as a four-stars and would recommend it to our friends and family wishing to visit.

This was the Golden Eagle Sailaway, a four-hour tour with the cruise ship. It started off rainy but soon it was fine. The catamarin's crew were wonderful and upbeat. To the snorkel area where masks and flippers were supplied. Floatie noodles were also available. I stayed on board and had a great time. Rum punch was plentiful, later pieces of roll with ham and salad. There was a toilet on board. Great fun even if you don't snorkel.

We had a great trip with the crew of this cataraman. Tried snorkelling but got into trouble and was helped very quickly by the watching crew. Would highly recomend just sailing but if you are an experienced swimmer then I ma sure you would enjoy this part of the trip. Top marks for the very friendly and helpful crew. Well done. While travelling back to our cruise ship ( Regent Explorer) the local Coast Guards came aboard to check the crews credentials. This was all done in a light hearted way and of course no problems were identified. This appears to be a routine thing in St Maarten

Very expensive, very disappointed. Seas were extremely rough, 10 mins out people were moving to the back of the boat getting sick. They had to be escorted since you couldn’t stand with the white caps hitting the boat. They should never have taken us out. Horrible day. All we did was sail. On the way back, almost 2 hours, water coming over the boat. 3-4 for swells, if not higher. A previous review I read prior to my sail, I thought it had to be an exaggeration. He stated exactly what happen. 6 hr trip, sailing for 4 in rough waters. Snorkeling was so so. No fun. Came back talked to locals, they stayed water is always rough. No fun. I have been on these catermaran 4-5 times in the past at other island. Always fun.

I've been partaking in the Golden Eagle tours once a year for the past decade (since I was 16), and I cannot recommend this excursion enough. The staff is remarkably welcoming and energetic, the drinks are cold, and the scenery is breathtaking. Even when the water is a little rough, the crew ensures you still get to experience the best of St. Maarten's stunning coastline. This excursion is perfect for all ages because it's entertaining enough for kids but also relaxing enough for adults. You'll experience one of the coolest spots for snorkeling, white-sand beaches, clear blue waters, rum punch, and even a fresh-made sandwich on deck. Even if you aren't a fan of snorkeling or don't want to get in the water at all, the Golden Eagle tour is a the perfect taste of paradise for anyone who appreciates the tropical beauty of St. Maarten. The Golden Eagle staff has become our Caribbean family, and we look forward to seeing them each year. The crew has safety training qualifications and pays very close attention to ensure that all guest have a safe experience on board and in the water. Golden Eagle will provide you with the snorkeling equipment, but you will want to bring your own beach towel. You will also be asked to remove your shoes upon boarding the catamaran to ensure the safety and cleanliness of the deck. Leave your worries on land, and enjoy this captivating adventure!

I think the tour we did was the eco-tour, it was on the catamaran and we were supposed to go to Tintamarre but the seas weren't good for it apparently. It was still so so nice, the captain took us to another part of the island. We stopped off by a beautiful beach (the one La Sammana is located) and the captain gave us a crash course on snorkeling (they had noodles to help you stay flat along the surface). After that we ate some lunch, which was just bread, salad, rotisserie chicken...nothing fancy but still good. The best part was the open bar! I wish there was a different rum selection but cant complain too much. They had a conch shell you can do shots from, super fun story to tell the folks back home hehe. We went to a different site to snorkel with an underwater helicopter after and it was so cool, the captain brought lettuce to feed fish and it was fantastic. I loved the entire experience!

Sail aboard the Golden Eagle catamaran to a beautiful sandy beach on the calm side of St Maarten. The vessel you will travel on is a custom-designed catamaran built to SOLAS worldwide safety standards.

Relax and enjoy an unforgettable experience while the crew pampers you. Laze in the shade of Golden Eagle's sails, lie in the nets or sit back in the captain's cockpit.

The Golden Eagle will anchor off a fabulous white-sand beach . Go ashore and explore the island, sunbathe on the beach or take a dip in the crystal-clear waters.

Once you're back on board and headed back to the pier, enjoy fresh sandwiches and sparkling wine as you cross the azure waters of the Caribbean.

Wear your swimsuit under your clothing; bring a towel, reef-safe/biodegradable sunscreen, light clothing to act as a full cover-up for further protection from the sun, and a hat. Swim at your own risk. Snorkel gear is available at the beach. Guests may have to swim to shore. Maximum weight is 240 lbs. Minimum age is 3 years.
