Since 2013, Below Deck has been captivating TV audiences across the globe by offering a voyeuristic peek into life on board multi-million dollar luxury charter yachts . Taking readers behind the scenes, YachtCharterFleet identifies the yachts featured on the show, as well as those which have appeared on the celebrated spin-off series Below Deck: Mediterranean , Below Deck: Sailing , Below Deck: Down Under and the latest iteration, Below Deck: Adventure .

Bravo’s hit reality TV series Below Deck chronicles the lives of crew members who work and reside aboard a luxury yacht during the charter season.

Each season features a different crew configuration, and the episodes show how the crew members interact and deal with personal issues alongside their working lives. The seasons are filmed over six weeks, with every episode featuring a new group of charter guests.

Getting even closer to these Below Deck superstars, we take a look at each of the stand-out features of every yacht that has appeared on the show.

Below Deck (US)

Many crew members are recurring on the show;  the longest-standing is Captain Lee Rosbach, who been on the show since 2013. A fan favourite, he has been at the helm of every yacht on Below Deck and seen a number of different crew formations.

The latest Below Deck season 10 is rumoured to be his final swan song, although his legacy on the show is such that whoever replaces him will have very big shoes to fill.

Among the crew members, Chief Stewardess Kate Chastain was an integral member of the team from season two to season seven. Alongside her, Chef Ben Robinson was a permanent fixture of the crew from season one to season four, before stepping out for season five.

Throughout the course of the show, the yachts have played an important role.

Hiring a Below Deck yacht will cost from €140,000 per week - and that price doesn't include expenses such as fuel. While some of the yachts were given an alias over the course of filming, their real names can now be revealed below; as well as the exact cost to rent them.

The largest yacht in the show's history, the 10th and 11th seasons of Below Deck  are set around the Caribbean islands of St Lucia  and Grenada onboard the luxurious 60m (197ft) superyacht ST DAVID . Delivered in 2008 by Italian shipyard Benetti, the yacht has an impressive sleek, supercar-inspired profile that instantly turns heads.

Onboard highlights include her well-appointed sundeck with sunloungers and sunpads where guests can kick back and relax, a spa pool and her al fresco cinema screen set up for unforgettable movie nights.

One of the yacht's most distinctive features is her sophisticated spiral staircase that leads through all three decks and is lit by a skylight in the spa pool of the sun deck. The yacht is very versatile for a variety of charter party configurations, with room for 12 guests across six elegantly appointed cabins.

STARSHIP (aka MY SEANNA)

Below deck charter yacht MY SEANNA

Making an appearance on seasons 9, 8 and 6 of Below Deck , the majestic motor yacht STARSHIP (known on the show as MY SEANNA) is a yacht charter favorite.

The yacht has traveled far and wide for the show cruising to the jaw-droppingly beautiful St Kitts and Nevis in season 9, the sun-kissed Caribbean in season 8 and the  South Pacific  islands of  Tahiti in season 6.

Known for being among one of the most opulent yachts on the charter market due to her ornate interiors and glossy fittings that have been brushed in 22-carat gold, it is safe to say that this yacht is one of the most opulently styled and extensively equipped yachts on the water. Refitted in 2021, the Delta Marine yacht can accommodate 12 guests across 6 cabins and is extremely versatile for a variety of yacht charter party configurations.

VALOR (aka BG)

Appearing three times on the hit show, the 47m (153ft) charter yacht BG (known on the show as VALOR) featured in seasons 7, 5 and 4 of Below Deck , taking charter guests to a variety of sun-kissed and beautiful locations. The yacht's real name is BG, and she was built in 1990 by the world's most revered shipbuilder Feadship . Since then, she has undergone many interiors refreshes to keep her in tip-top condition.

The yacht traveled around Thailand in Season 7  where the crew and viewers were treated to a truly memorable South East Asian experience. From the iconic Phi Phi Islands to the beautiful beaches of Ko Yao Yai, there were plenty of fascinating landmarks to see on the way. Season 5 took viewers to the tranquil cruising grounds of  Saint Martin whilst season 4 saw M/Y BG in the glistening waters of the  Virgin Islands .

Accomodating 12 guests across 6 cabins, she is also capable of carrying up to 10 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht charter experience.

She is equipped with an array of luxurious amenities including an eight-person sundeck Jacuzzi, barbecue and yacht-wide sound system. She also boasts timeless interior styling with intricate wood panelling and a neutral colour palette which helps create an inviting atmosphere for those on board.

The yacht was sold in November 2013 - just before filming for season 3 began - for an asking price of $17.9 million.

Among many other features, the yacht is equipped with a large sundeck, outdoor bar and luxury accommodation for 10 guests.

After filming the series, M/Y STAR DIAMOND was sold for an asking price of $10.9 million and is now on the charter market with a charter rate of $160,000/week. Extensively refit in 2022, the work on the superyacht has included a complete interior refresh, the yacht now features light, modern styling - an engine rebuild and a cabin conversion.

HONOR (aka BARENTS )

Superyacht charter yacht BARENTS

The first season of Below Deck premiered on 1 July 2013 after being announced in April 2012. Chartering around the Caribbean , the starring superyacht was named HONOR for the show but chartered under the name CUOR DI LEONE which translates to ‘Lion Heart’ in Italian. She now goes by the name BARENTS .

Built by Italian shipyard Benetti in 1999 and refit in 2021, the famous vessel has undergone a complete makeover, bringing her up to modern standards. She can accommodate up to 12 charter guests and features luxury amenities for guests to enjoy including state-of-the-art TVs and a sundeck Jacuzzi.

Following the show, superyacht BARENTS was sold for around $15 million and her new owner commissioned a major refit. A great deal of money was spent on updating her interior with a classic-modern style of design as well as on brand-new exterior furniture and entertainment systems.

IONIAN PRINCESS

Ionain Princess season 1 Below Deck Mediterranean

Premiering on 3 May 2016, the very first season of Below Deck: Mediterranean , a spin-off of the increasingly popular franchise, took to viewers' screens. This time the ‘yachties’ took care of their guests onboard the motor yacht IONIAN PRINCESS  in the Mediterranean  destination of Greece .

The starring yacht IONIAN PRINCESS was delivered from Christensen in 2005 and was later refit in 2016 and again in 2021. Truly opulent, she bears interiors that are sleekly finished with a range of warmly toned woods and plenty of comfortable furnishings. She also boasts one of the largest sundecks for a yacht of her size.

Below Deck: Mediterranean Season 1 yacht IONIAN PRINCESS is not currently available for private yacht charter vacations.

Below Deck: Sailing Yacht

This is the first time the Below Deck franchise branched away from gleaming motor yachts, with the various weather issues that sailing yachts have to contend with adding even more drama and excitement.

The design of luxury sailing yachts  also creates far more confined crew areas than we are used to seeing on the original Below Deck . In general, sailing yachts tend to feature smaller galleys, compact stew stations and cramped crew quarters which are in closer proximity to the guests’ living areas, putting crew under increased pressure to deliver their signature silver service.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 3

In addition, deck crew are placed in a far more demanding role, with sailing yachts requiring increased accuracy and precision to safely maneuver and plenty of deck duties taking place in the midst of guest areas.

PARSIFAL III

Sailing yacht on Below Deck

Season 2 was set around the glistening waters of Croatia and in  Season 3 of Below Deck Sailing , M/Y PARSIFAL III came back to where she traditionally charters in the beautiful Balearic island of Menorca . For the latest Below Deck: Sailing Yacht season she ventured around the glittering coastline of Sardinia .

The yacht can comfortably charter up to 12 guests across 5 luxurious cabins with a layout comprising a master suite, two double cabins and two twin cabins.

This Is How Much It Costs To Charter The Boat From Below Deck Sailing Yacht

Spoiler: it's not cheap.

The Parisall III on Below Deck Sailing costs a pretty hefty sum to charter.

Below Deck is all about the drama a ship's crew experiences while catering to the wealthy, and its spinoff Below Deck Sailing Yacht — now in its second season — is no different. As you'd expect, the cost to charter Below Deck Sailing Yacht 's Parsifall III is extravagant, and guests can get pretty demanding about getting their money's worth.

Unsurprisingly, the cost of a week-long vacation on the Parsifall III is pretty far out of the average consumer's price point. According to Charter World, Parsifall III costs between €195,000 to €225,000 a week to rent, which equals about $234,864 to $270,997 a week. For this hefty sum, guests gets five cabins, a drinking saloon and dining area, a jacuzzi, a swimming landing pad, and more. The ship itself can hold up to 12 guests and nine crew members, and in Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 2, it sails around Croatia.

As for the ship's specifications, the Parsifall III is a lavish 177-foot long sailing yacht made in 2005 by the renowned Italian shipyard Perini Navi, with French designer Remi Tessier designing the interior. As Adam Glick told E! New 's Pop of the Morning show in 2020, a large ship like Parsifall III can easily cost "30, 40, 50 million" to buy; the sails alone can cost $300,000 to replace.

Season 2 will likely explore the cost of repairing the ship, as a preview of Below Deck Sailing Yacht shows that the Parsifall III accidentally collides with a docking wall due to a "throttle malfunction," per E! News. "Hitting the dock like that can be a season-ending incident. It can be very serious," Captain Glenn Shepard said . He added that that's the first time he's ever crashed a boat, but it's "unfortunate that it happened" at all.

As for the yacht's name, it derives from the Arthurian knight Percival, who is most famous for being the hero who goes on a long-running journey for the Holy Grail — no doubt an analogy meant to make guests feel like traveling on Parsifall III will lead to the best experience money can buy.

Jenna MacGillivray serves guests on Below Deck Sailing Yacht.

"The [guest] requests get so bizarre," Glick told E! New s' Pop of the Morning. "For example, we might be brought a king-sized bag of Skittles and told that we're only allowed to put out the orange ones. So now you've got crew members wasting incredibly valuable time picking out orange Skittles." In Season 1, Chief Stewardess Jenna MacGillivray mentioned that some guests have even asked her to tuck them in.

" Below Deck makes great drama out of the nuances of the kind of 'interior' service labor often deemed too feminine (and boring) to anchor pop culture narratives: event planning, waitressing, laundering, and cooking," Pier Dominguez wrote for Buzzfeed. "In the age of millennial burnout — and especially for the channel’s younger-skewing audience — it’s easy to identify with performing work under constant pressure, hoping to reap rewards subject to the whims of the 1%."

This is most exemplified at the end of every Below Deck episode, when the crew gets together to assess performances and find out how much the guests tipped them. If they did well, the rewards can be tremendous: in Season 1, a satisfied customer tipped $20,000 to Captain Glenn Shepard and his crew.

Screen Rant

Chartering a below deck yacht & how much it costs.

All the yacht vacations featured on the Below Deck franchise are extremely expensive. Guests have to spend hundreds of dollars for a week-long trip.

  • Below Deck showcases expensive luxury yachts and allows wealthy guests to be part of the popular reality TV show, documenting their adventures.
  • Chartering on a Below Deck yacht is costly and filters for the richest individuals who come with entertaining requests and add drama to the show.
  • Being a guest on Below Deck yachts allows individuals to become celebrities, as they are treated like stars, interviewed, and gain popularity and followers.

Below Deck has featured various luxury yachts on the show since 2013, most of which have been quite expensive. The hit reality TV series is most popular for showcasing interesting charter guests and their adventures on the ships. One of the most memorable guests has been Delores Flora from Below Deck season 8 . The middle-aged woman got so drunk on Captain Lee Rosbach's yacht that she couldn't think straight. Despite safety hazard warnings, Delores decided to swim in the ocean at night, causing everyone a lot of stress. The next day, Captain Lee kicked her off the ship for not obliging.

Below Deck season 3 guest Steve Bradley is another charter guest who viewers might still remember. His extremely flirty behavior and demands were always over-the-top. Steve once asked the crew for a foam party and gave the entire deck team a hard time. To make matters worse, he returned to Below Deck season 6 with the same behavior. As for Captain Lee's opinion, he thinks Timothy Sykes was the worst charter guest ever. The young entrepreneur was extremely demanding during his stay and forced the team to give back tip money.

Charter Prices For Below Deck Yachts

Across all the spin-offs and dozens of seasons, the charter prices for Below Deck yachts have varied. According to Yacht Charter Fleet , Captain Lee's Below Deck season 1 ship Honor was $170K weekly. His latest boat, the St. David, had a charter price of $360K. The costs for Captain Lee's yachts have risen over the years, but it also depends on their lengths, which have varied between $153K to $196K.

Being on a Below Deck spin-off is also not so cheap. Below Deck Mediterranean season 7's yacht Home was $245K per week. In comparison, Below Deck Sailing Yacht's legendary boat Parsifal III has remained at $217K throughout all four seasons. Below Deck Down Under is relatively cheap, as Northern Sun has a charter rate of $162K per week. The same is true for the newest spinoff, Below Deck Adventure .

Below Deck Yachts Are Not For Everyone

Chartering on Below Deck is expensive, whether it's Captain Lee's luxury yacht or Captain Glenn Shephard's iconic sailboat. Most people are unable to shed over $100,000 just to spend a week on board. However, the costly price of being on the ship is by design. It helps filter the richest individuals for the show, who usually come with an entertaining list of requests. Sometimes, these guests are spoiled, which adds drama to the show. Recently, Below Deck Down Under's drunk guests ruined everyone's night by stripping and jumping into the sea at 2 a.m. Captain Jason Chambers shut down their wild activities before they injured themselves. He even threatened to call the charter off.

Below Deck Yachts Guest Become Celebrities

There are other valid reasons why Below Deck 's luxury yachts cost so much. Chartering on any similar ship costs a lot in general. Therefore, most wealthy guests decide based on perks. The first benefit is being on a popular reality TV show. Any charter guest who pays to be on Below Deck's yachts get to be part of the franchise. Being on camera ensures that all their adventures are documented and projected to the world. The second perk is the celebrity-like experience, since the guests are treated like stars. Below Deck yacht guests get interviewed, earn new followers, become popular, and feel like celebrities.

You Won't Believe How Much It Costs to Charter a 'Below Deck' Yacht

Shannon Raphael - Author

Jun. 5 2020, Updated 1:20 p.m. ET

If you're a fan of Below Deck or its counterpart, Below Deck Mediterranean , you know that the clear ocean water, the cliff sights, and the on-demand food from an expert chef are enviable luxuries.

What's not a luxury? Having crew members scrutinize everything about the guests' antics, idiosyncrasies, and preference sheets on national television. We're breaking down exactly what a Below Deck charter costs, and what the show offers guests as an incentive to air their lives on TV.

How much does a Below Deck charter cost?

When you charter a boat from Below Deck , you can expect one that is 150 to 160 feet in length that features multiple decks and luxury guest quarters.

The service staff does turn-down service, unpacks suitcases, and waits on guests for any food or drink requests that they may have. The deck crew sets up any water toys — from slides to jet skis to rides to shore on the tender. Guests can request off-boat excursions as well, that the crew plans and executes.

The yacht featured on the shows are usually worth around $15 to $20 million, with Below Deck Mediterranean 's Sirocco ringing in at over a whopping $18.5 million. According to a yacht site , My Seanna, which was featured on Below Deck Mediterranean 's sixth season, had the most expensive weekly rental cost starting at $300,000. The boat was also the longest one in the show's history at nearly 180 feet. Many of the boats featured on the show are given new names by production.

If you're interested in chartering one of these mega yachts, expect to have at least $140,000 on hand for the weeklong venture. Ohana from Below Deck Season 2 — which is actually named Rhino — is the least expensive yacht on the list and can hold up to 10 guests.

The smaller size of the boat may have contributed to the lower price, but it has been renovated since the show aired. It's important to remember that these costs do not include the tip, which tends to be anywhere from $15,000 (if service was awful) to $30,000.

The guests get a huge deal on the charter cost.

With the huge cost of chartering a Below Deck boat, it's fair to assume that guests would be getting a significant deal in order to allow cameras to film what is supposed to be a vacation.

Producer and creator Mark Cronin confirmed that guests get a 50 percent discount on the three-day charters, and their airfare is covered by production. The guests are responsible for paying the tips, however, which are supposed to be 15 to 20 percent of the total real cost of the charter.

The staff of the boat also makes money from production for being on the show. It's some consolation if the tip doesn't quite measure up.

If you watch the show, then you know that these coveted tips often cause a significant amount of the show's drama. Most guests on the show give a speech before leaving the boat about the successes and failures of the staff before handing the tip in. Mark also said that every charter is included on the season, even if the guests are boring. So there's no hope that being tame will get you a discounted charter and no air time.

The moral of the story is that if you ever want the chance to have chief stew Hannah bring you an omelet in the morning, it's going to cost you quite the pretty penny. Below Deck Mediterranean airs on Monday nights at 9 p.m. on Bravo.

How Much Does It Cost To Charter A Yacht On Below Deck?

Boats on Below Deck

With Bravo's "Below Deck" approaching its tenth season , it's safe to say that viewers enjoy going on a virtual ride on the world's most luxurious yachts. The drama of the yachties aboard aside, the "Below Deck" offers endless entertainment , as it manages to make us all jealous of how extravagant life on a cruise ship can be. It's hard not to imagine yourself being serviced by attractive yachties and experiencing all the fancy amenities.

If you do have the cash to spare, though, you may be thinking about chartering one such ship yourself. After all, if you had the money, nothing's stopping you from spending on an extravagant trip around the Caribbean. But fair warning: It doesn't come cheap, and you have to brace yourself to spend thousands of dollars. It's worth it, of course, especially if the particular ship you charter has tons of amenities in store. But if your wish is to rent the ships you see on TV, prepare to spend an arm and a leg.

It costs hundreds of thousands of dollars to charter a yacht

"Below Deck" gives you a glimpse of how lavish life on deck could be — at least for the guests. And for the kind of service and amenities guests enjoy, you must pay a pretty penny to hop onboard. Per the booking company Yacht Charter Fleet , chartering a yacht like My Seanna, the 185-foot ship featured on the show on Season 9, can set you back a whopping $260,000. It gets even heftier during the high season, with the cost rising up to $300,000. And that's only for one week!

It may be worth the price, though, given what it offers to guests. This particular ship can accommodate up to 12 guests and 11 crew members with its six suites. It provides a bevy of exciting amenities, too, including a state-of-the-art movie theater, a beach club, a well-equipped gym, deck jacuzzi, and more. The ship takes you to the beautiful Bahamas, and should you wish to enjoy water activities, you can request to try out kayaks, jet skis, and more. "Can't go wrong there, I love that boat," Captain Lee himself wrote in a tweet .

Smaller boats, however, are cheaper — although not much. "Generally a boat that size, 150 foot — this one's 160, Valor — but around that price range, for seven days, is around $150,000," Kate Chastain told ET . "But that does not include airfare, fuel, food, wine, docking, tip. So, I would say for a boat like Valor, for a week vacation, it would be around a quarter of a million dollars."

The yachties on Below Deck don't earn as much as you think

Even if guests cough up hundreds of thousands of dollars on chartering the yachts seen on "Below Deck," the yachties aboard don't earn as much as you think.

Per reports from Refinery29 and Crewfinder International , stewardesses rake in about $5,000 monthly, with the chief stewardess making up to $6,000. Chefs make more depending on their experience and can bring home up to $10,000 a month. Meanwhile, Captain Lee likely makes up to $210,000 a year if he works a full year, and that's not even including tips. He could be collecting $100,000 more in tips if he charters ships year-round.

"Below Deck" star Ashley Marti previously disclosed that she makes more on OnlyFans than she does on the show. In a tweet , she wrote, "Just want to thank @BravoWWHL for all the free OF publicity! I love waking up and seeing that in a couple hours, I've made more money than #Bravo paid me for 6 weeks." To put things in perspective, Marti charges $12.50 per subscription. And with over 7,000 paying fans, she's looking at over $87,000 a month in revenue. Not too shabby! Former bosun Eddie Lucas echoed the same sentiment. "There is somebody monetizing off of the show, but it's definitely not us," he shared with the New York Post  in May. "Below Deck — regardless of it being the most popular show on Bravo — we are the lowest-paid cast members."

How Much Does it Cost to Charter a Yacht on Below Deck?

The Big Question: “ How Much Does it Cost to Charter a Yacht on Below Deck? ”

Well the yachts featured on Below Deck have high weekly price tags ranging from $140,000 a week to $271,500 a week.

Some of the superyachts featured on Below Deck are not available for weekly rentals as they have been brought or sold by private owners. Either before the shows filming took place, or since the show has aired.

How Much Does It Cost For You To Charter a Yacht?

When planning a yacht charter, it’s essential to consider the various factors that will contribute to the overall cost. It’s not just about the boat; your charter will be shaped by:

  • Destination . The area where you’ll be sailing can impact the cost significantly, with high-demand locations often commanding higher rates.
  • Yacht Type . The style and size of the boat you choose will play a big part in the cost. Larger, luxury yachts will cost more than smaller or more basic models.
  • Charter Type . If you’re hiring a crew along with your yacht, this will add to the cost. A bareboat charter, where you sail the boat yourself, can be less expensive.
  • Season . Prices can vary greatly depending on the time of year. Peak sailing season tends to be more expensive than off-peak times.
  • Extras . From onboard entertainment to water sports equipment, the extras you opt for will affect the final price.
  • Charter Duration . Obviously, the longer your charter, the more it will cost. However, longer charters may offer better value per day.

Despite these variables, with some careful planning and a bit of flexibility, yacht charter can be a lot more accessible than you might think. At SailChecker.com , we’re dedicated to helping you find the perfect charter experience to fit your budget and needs.

How Much Does it Cost to Charter a Below Deck Yacht?

of How Much Does it Cost to Charter a Below Deck Yacht?

Ever since its debut in the summer of 2013, the ‘ Below Deck ‘ franchise has been following the experiences of crew members who live and work aboard luxurious vessels as it sails through beautiful locations across the world. From navigating their roles and interpersonal relationships to meeting every demand of their seemingly overbearing guests, they essentially have to do it all. However, let’s be honest, as onlookers, we do cut the patrons some slack considering the evident, exuberant amounts of money they spend on a vacation. So now, let’s find out the actual cost, shall we?

When you charter a vessel from the list of ‘Below Deck’ superyachts, you can expect 150+ feet of deluxe comfort, including a personalized itinerary, suitcase management, water activities, and turn-down services, amongst much more. You can even request off-boat excursions — planned and executed by the vessel’s crew members —  to ensure that you get everything in one place without any serious efforts for complete relaxation. Though, of course, with that, you have to pay the appropriate compensation, which racks up to a minimum of $140,000 (plus expenses) for a weeklong venture.

below deck sailing yacht charter price

Starting from season 1’s Honor yacht (now renamed to BARENTS), after a major refit from its new owner, a weeklong charter in this 164-foot boat begins from $175,000. Then, standing at a stunning 154 foot, season 2’s Ohana (actual name RHINO) only goes for around $140,000 per week. Season 3’s Eros (known as STAY SALTY) is unavailable for private yacht charters right now, but seasons 4, 5, and 7’s Valor (or BG) is available for the price of $158,000. Coming to the luxury we have all come to know and love as My Seanna, the 185-feet Starship is the most expensive here at $260,000/week.

As for the sails of ‘Below Deck Mediterranean’ and ‘Below Deck Sailing Yacht,’ while Parsifall III from the latter costs between $240,000 to $280,000 a week to rent, Ionian Princess from the former’s season 1 starts at about $163,000. The Sirocco of seasons 2 and 4 lands in the pricey range of $192,000 to $213,500, whereas season 3’s Talisman Maiton crosses the $250,000 mark.

As for The Wellington in the fifth season, the 184.5-feet beauty goes from $260,000 to $280,000 for a week. However, season 6’s Lady Michelle breaks all bounds by costing between $270,000 to $310,000 plus expenses. With that said, a few years ago, show creator Mark Cronin revealed that the guests who appear on the series are given a discount of about 50% from the actual cost of chartering the vessel for three days.

“We ask them to tip about 15% to 20% of the full cost though,” Mark Cronin added on a Reddit thread . “The tip amount is up to them as well. They are not compensated, but we pay their airfare.” Along with that, the production team also supports the guests by providing hotel accommodations the night before and the night after the charter while ensuring their complete safety and comfort. Their support extends to the crew in the form of an adequate salary and a few other benefits as well.

How much does it cost to charter a yacht from below deck.

If you’ve watched Below Deck or Below Deck Mediterranean, you have surely been absorbed by the captivating drama of the cast’s lives. But more stunning than the cast are the beautiful superyachts that serve as the stage for the drama. But how much does it cost?   It costs $140,000 to $275,000 per week to charter a yacht from ‘Below Deck’. The average price you should expect to pay is north of $180,000 to charter a boat that has been on the later seasons of ‘Below Deck’. But if you get featured on the show, you’ll probably only pay half of the charter rate due to a 50% discount from the production.   In this article, you will learn more about the prices of those yachts featured in the famous TV show. You will also find out whether Captain Lee comes with the yachts and how you can meet the cast and crew of ‘Below Deck’ in real life. But first, let’s explore the process of chartering a yacht from ‘Below Deck’.

How to charter a Yacht from ‘Below Deck’?

Below Deck Yacht Scirocco

However…

Because the average yacht on the show is worth over 18 million dollars, most yacht rentals don’t let the production shoot on their yachts for free promotion. In such instances, there is no exchange of free marketing and discounts, which is why most boats you see on the show have their names disguised with a show version name. Below, you’ll find the list of all the featured yachts and their real names.

How high are the prices for Yachts from ‘Below Deck’?

Captain Lee and Crew

Can you get Captain Lee on your Yacht?

Captain Lee is not attached to any specific yacht from the show ‘Below Deck’. If you charter a yacht from the show, there is no guarantee that the crew will be the same cast as it was on ‘Below Deck’. On the other hand, you can charter a yacht that’s never been featured on the show and still get Captain Lee. Please contact us upfront if you want to charter a specific yacht from the show and if you have any wishes regarding the crew. You can request Captain Lee for your yacht charter and specifically request for his staff from ‘Below Deck’. We at Noblesse Yachts will make all the arrangements for you. But that doesn’t guarantee you’ll be featured on the reality TV series ‘Below Deck’, as not all of Captain Lee’s adventures are featured in the series.

An easier way to meet Captain Lee and his crew is to apply for the show. Instead of paying for a superyacht charter and Captain Lee independently, you can book them as a package deal – if you are willing to be featured on the show. Please note that Captain Lee Yacht availability keeps decreasing by the minute. He has brand deals, collaborations, and other engagements that can further narrow his time for in-person captaining. In other words, getting the stud of the sea to captain your yacht will take far more than the average yacht captain’s quote.

For fans of captain Lee on Below Deck, there are meet-and-greet events as well as the option to get a personalized video message .

Getting featured on the Netflix-Show ‘Below Deck’: The Process

Getting featured on Below Deck entails:

  • answering the casting call of the production company that shoots the show
  • willingness to pay 50% of the yacht charter price and 100% of the staff tips
  • getting interviewed by the casting director

How to charter a yacht from ‘Below Deck’ – without actually being on the show

If you want to rent a yacht from ‘Below Deck’, you can simply contact us . We have all available dates, charter prices, and itineraries for every yacht featured on the show. Is your preferred yacht not available? Don’t worry. The yacht charter market is BIG, and we can almost guarantee that we will find a suitable option for your desired dates or destination.

Are there any hidden costs when chartering a yacht from ‘Below Deck’?

Although charter prices for yachts from ‘Below Deck’ start at a whopping $140,000 per week, these prices don’t include standard charter extras. Alongside paying for the staff tips (usually 10% of the charter price), you may need to pay for docking fees, applicable taxes, and the APA (advance provisioning allowance).

We will gladly calculate any applicable extra costs to avoid you getting surprised by hidden fees and taxes. Depending on the destination, the docking fees will be listed and accessible (to an extent).

What you need to know before getting aboard a yacht on ‘Below Deck’

  • You have to pay – The production will contribute to your yacht charter, but you will not leave the show with any profit. That distinguishes the show from many other reality shows. However, you will save a significant amount of money, that’s for sure.
  • You’ll get a discount on the charter rate – The production will pay for 50% of the yacht charter price. The trend shows that they choose bigger yachts with every season because people are willing to pay more to get on the screen.
  • You pay 100% of the staff tips – That’s usually 10% of the charter’s total price. You might want to tip more if you want to show your generosity.
  • You are willing to ‘work’ on your vacation – It really does involve work, as you have to be camera-ready and may have to re-enact real-life interactions if cameras are unavailable when something significant happens.

What is the minimal booking period for a Luxury Yacht Rental?

  • Maldives – Decent yacht availability, low rates
  • Turkey – Broader superyacht availability, good rates
  • Dubai – Superyachts are available for hourly, sharing, and rental. Expensive
  • Greece – Narrow yacht availability, low rates
  • Croatia – Narrowest yacht availability, low rates

Below Deck Yachts

Yacht with Below Deck logo

If you’ve never seen the show, it follows the crew of a luxury yacht during peak “charter season.” The original Below Deck, for example, showed off the glitz and glamour of the Caribbean, especially around St. Thomas, the British Virgin Islands, and the Bahamas. The Mediterranean spin-off, on the other hand, highlights European hotspots, including Italy, Spain and Croatia.

The show is undeniably a ton of fun. From the drama in the crew quarters, to the incredible beaches, the show provides an entertaining look behind the curtain.

Yet, the chartered superyachts are the real stars of the show. Each season, Below Deck features a truly stunning super yacht. All of them measure over 150 feet and are decked out in opulent features, staterooms and amenities. And here’s something you might not know: The majority of the Below Deck yachts are available for charter!

Below Deck Charter Yachts

Through five seasons, Below Deck has featured some of the most magnificent super yachts in the world. Some of the yachts have changed ownership since the show, been renamed, or have undergone a refitting. Yet, most look like they did from the show.

But beyond the name and maybe a few changes to the interior, there aren’t many differences. All of the water toys, Jacuzzis and stunning outdoor dining areas are what you’ll find on the yachts available for charter! So which charter yachts are available?

Here’s a more detailed look at the yachts featured on the original Below Deck:

Honor – Season 1

Lumiere yacht

Honor (which is now LUMIERE) kicked off the first season, and she put on a dazzling display. The yacht, originally built by Benetti in 1999, is one of the largest yachts ever featured on the show, and it was actually booked for a five-week charter for filming.

HONOR benefited from the new-found fame of the show. She sold after it aired for nearly $15 million, and the new owners completely refit her interiors and renamed the boat. Today, LUMIERE is a masterpiece of nautical engineering.

She features luxurious accommodations for up to 12 guests and an abundance of deck space, including a sprawling sun deck. The yacht also features a wide array of water toys (the slide was a struggle for the crew all season!).

Ohana – Season 2

Yacht Rhino

Season 2 took the crew on a tour of the British Virgin Islands and featured some familiar faces. Captain Lee, Chef Ben, and Bosun Eddie were back, much to the pleasure of fans. Yet, the yacht was completely different.

OHANA (real name is RHINO) was featured on the second season, a stunning 154-footer, with beautiful decks, a horseshoe outdoor bar, and a stunning outdoor sun deck. After the show aired in 2014, Ohana underwent an extensive retrofit.

She now features an updated interior with a decidedly modern, airy vibe, as well as new hardware, including a state-of-the-art stabilization system.

Eros – Season 3

Yacht Mustang Sally

EROS took centerstage in Season 3, and the 161-foot yacht, originally built for the founder of Tim Hortons, was one of the most luxurious featured on the show. The beautiful tri-deck, featured a stately saloon, a sky lounge Jacuzzi, and sleek exterior styling.

EROS – which was sold prior to the third season – has since been renamed and was also remodeled. She’s now known as Mustang Sally, and unfortunately, this is one of the few Below Deck charter yachts that’s not available for charter.

Valor – Seasons 4 & 5

below deck sailing yacht charter price

The stately VALOR was a fan favorite in Season 4 and 5. Built in 1990 by Dutch-based Feadship, the 154-foot VALOR featured a sprawling aft deck, perfect for sunset dinners and afternoon lounges. Plus, the ship – when featured on the show – had a range of water toys, including dual jet skis and a sleek, boutique hotel-inspired interior.

Like Mustang Sally, VALOR – which is now known as simply BG – isn’t available for charter. Yet, fans will always remember all the drama that took place on board.

Below Deck Mediterranean Yachts

Below Deck Mediterranean premiered in 2016, and through three seasons, the show has featured some of the Med’s best yachts. All of the yachts from the Mediterranean spin-off are available for charter, exactly how you see them on the show.

Ionian Princess – Season 1

Yacht Ionian Princess

Season 1 of Below Deck Mediterranean launched with a bang, featuring one of the strongest premieres for the franchise. Although there was plenty of drama throughout the season as the crew traveled around Greece, the beauty of IONIAN PRINCESS couldn’t be missed. The ship, which was originally built in the U.S. in 2005, featured a sleek, streamlined tri-deck design and gorgeous interiors.

The sun deck – where guests partied all season long – is one of the yacht’s star attractions, featuring a Jacuzzi with world-class views. Her interior, though, is one of the most stunning, featuring a chic design. The yacht also includes six cabins with accommodations for up to 12 guests.

Sirocco – Season 2

Sirocco yacht

Season 2 took the crew to Croatia, aboard SIROCCO. The Dutch-built yacht originally launched in 2006, and thanks to its unique two-tone, third-deck exterior, she was remembered for her striking exterior. All of the yacht’s features made great TV. From her incredible sun deck, to the African chic interior, and all of the many water toys, SIROCCO’s impressive design and amenities stood out.

Today, she’s available for charter throughout the Mediterranean. A few unique features include a sun deck gym, an alfresco party deck, a theatre, and a wide array of water toys.

Talisman Maiton – Season 3

Talisman

Named for an island in Thailand, TAILSMAN MAITON is a stunning tri-deck that cruises the pristine waters of Italy and all of the Mediterranean. The largest to ever be featured on the show, TAILSMAN is truly incredible.

The yacht accommodates 12 guests, in 6 beautifully appointed rooms. There’s a master suite, as well as 1 VIP stateroom, and four smaller cabins. The yacht was built in 2006, but most recently refit in 2016 with a timeless Art Deco aesthetic. The yacht also features a sundeck spa pool with a beautiful bar, a full-service gym, and an observation deck with panoramic views.

How Long Are the Below Deck Charters?

Here’s a little-known secret about Below Deck: The “charter season” on the show is just a few weeks. In fact, the yachts are actually booked for about six weeks, and their regular crews are sent home. In other words, the charters on Below Deck are actually a charter within a charter!

Each of the Below Deck charters last just a few days, and each episode features new charter guests.

Below Deck Yacht Rental Costs

Hiring a yacht from Below Deck isn’t cheap. The majority cost in the neighborhood of $150,000 per week. Yet, that charter rate doesn’t include expenses, including fuel, dockage fees, and taxes.

Yet, for that price, you’ll get a truly world-class experience. The crews of each of these yachts provide first-class service and all of the boats are fully loaded with amenities. There’s nothing quite like it in the world. And by hiring one of these superyachts, you’ll also have bragging rights for chartering a yacht featured on a TV show!

I Want to Be On Below Deck! Chartering Yachts On a Budget

below deck sailing yacht charter price

Each week millions of viewers tune in to Below Deck, watching that season’s crew work hard/play hard in some of the most gorgeous destinations on the planet—Australia, the Caribbean, and our personal favorite, the Mediterranean. No doubt many viewers suffer from a bit of location envy, secretly wishing that we could somehow swap places to live the Below Deck lifestyle.

Tuning in, sometimes it’s hard to determine which aspect of the show is the most stunning—the megayachts, the sexy crew members, or the holiday backdrops. Surprisingly, most of us are so enamored by the idea of yacht life that given the opportunity to clean toilets as a 3rd stew, we probably would jump at the chance.

below deck sailing yacht charter price

However, what if I told you that everyday normies could experience a luxury yacht vacation—not as working staff but as charter guests?

Yachties Unite

Throughout the years, we’ve been blessed to create so many special memories aboard yachts. Like you, we understand the magic of being on the water. It’s exotic and euphoric to experience the wind in your hair while being sprayed by the ocean’s salty mist.

Why do you think the most elite people on the planet take yachting holidays? It’s one of the best ways to travel.

After sailing in Greece, yachting in the Adriatic Sea, and island hopping in Croatia —we’re addicted to yachting. We even hosted our wedding reception aboard a yacht too! That’s one of the reasons why we’re so passionate about helping people get out on the water and showing them how to experience the Below Deck yachting lifestyle on a budget.

The Preference Sheet

Honestly, one of our favorite scenes of Below Deck is when the captain calls over the crew to go over the guest list and preference sheets. Who are these people wealthy enough to charter a luxury megayacht? What do they do for a living? What are their dietary restrictions?

Below Deck’s Most Famous Charter Guests

Throughout the years, we’ve seen American MLB legend, Johnny Damon featured on the show – which was highly entertaining when he got drunk and urinated off the side of the ship. This took place in S05 E14 of Below Deck Mediterranean .

America’s Next Top Model Cycle 10 winner Whitney Thompson chartered a Below Deck yacht. Both noteworthy names, Ace of Base singer Ulf Ekberg and son of rock and roll legend, Roy Orbison Jr chartered a yacht together.

Cost of a Typical Below Deck Yacht Charter

In a Reddit thread, Below Deck producer Mark Cronin spilled some juicy behind-the-scenes details. He admitted that the charter guests do receive a steep discount for agreeing to be filmed while abroad on their luxury cruise. In addition, the show pays for the guests’ airfare. However, he explains, that even with the discounts, it still is not a cheap vacation.

below deck sailing yacht charter price

One Week – $200,000

A week aboard one of the typical charter yachts costs around $150,000 to $200,000, which provides an idea of the cost of a three-day charter. Cronin admits that generally, guests receive “about 50 percent” off of the charter rate.

However, guests are still expected to tip about 15 to 20 percent of the full price. Guests also receive no compensation for appearing on the program. As we know, each crew member typically receives about $1,000 to $2,000 per charter in tip money.

How Are Guests Selected?

Last, unlike the crew, Below Deck charter guests are not carefully selected by Bravo in advance. Although Cronin admits that they wish that could be selective about who is featured on the show, in reality, whoever’s check clears first is chosen for the show.

below deck sailing yacht charter price

Although the commotion of the crew does a great job providing entertainment for Below Deck fans, for the most part, guests have offered some pretty solid drama too.

We’ll Get This Party Started!

Before each charter commences, Captain Lee always ceremoniously and unenthusiastically states, “We’ll get this party started.” So in the spirit of Captain Lee, let’s get down to the dirty details on how to rent a yacht charter on a budget.

below deck sailing yacht charter price

How to Charter a Yacht On a Budget

Sailo is a popular booking site. It’s kind of like the Airbnb of charter boat rentals as you book directly with the owner of the yacht. Although there are verified opportunities available worldwide, the most popular rental destinations in the U.S. are New York, California, Miami, and Miami Beach.

Other Florida hotspots include the Florida Keys, Fort Lauderdale, and Cape Coral. If your budget allows, the Bahamas is also accessible via a weekend trip from Miami or Key West.

Budget Tip : If a luxury yacht is a bit out of budget, consider renting a smaller motor yacht on Tripadvisor. Typically, for less than $1,000 per day, you can rent a pretty amazing 35 to 50-foot yacht. Some of our favorites include:

  • 45′ Yacht in Miami Beach With Captain
  • 51′ Yacht Charter in US Virgin Islands
  • 38′ Fathom Yacht Charter Experience on Lake Travis
  • 50′ Private Luxury Catamaran Yacht in St. Thomas USVI

However, international viewers, don’t fret. Sailo operates worldwide and all of the yachting destinations featured on Below Deck offer yacht charter options too.

Luckily, sometimes the weekly pricing is even more affordable and realistic in more popular yachting destinations. These would include countries such as Croatia, Turkey, Spain, and Greece. Of course, the greater the supply of available yachts, the more competitive the charter rates.

How Yacht Renting Works

The Sailo charter process is simple. First, search through thousands of boat rentals—party pontoons, motorboats, sailboats, catamarans, or luxury yachts. Next, filter by dates, price, crew, and/or trip duration. If you have any questions, guests can easily contact the owner/captain via Sailo’s message option.

Work Out the Dirty Details

Keep in mind that there are a few important factors to confirm before securing your yacht rental. The group should all agree on an established budget, the desired location, and the guest list. This will ensure that you secure the right boat within your price range and have enough space to accommodate all of your friends.

Numbers Matter

Have you ever noticed that Below Deck yacht charter groups are actually quite large in number? Only A-list celebrities, Saudi prices, Russian oligarchs, and Silicon Valley moguls are the ones privately cruising on huge superyachts.

The key to chartering a proper yacht is the size of your group. Remember, the larger your squad the cheaper the overall cost per person when you share the expense. To illustrate, a full-day $1,100 yacht charter will cost approximately $85 per person for a group of 13.

Upon booking, the final price may include extra charges such as service, captain, and fuel fees. To get an idea, the average starting price to charter a yacht for the day in Miami Shores is $1,100. However, affordable rentals are available for as little as $250.

Some Typical Sailo Yachts Available

The hardest part of chartering the yacht is determining the best listing. Again, if it seems overwhelming, reach out to the listing’s contact person and ask questions. Be cognizant of how responsive and informative the owner is when inquiring about your trip. Also, be sure to confirm that the vessel in the listing is the same boat that you’ll be chartering.

To give you an idea of what’s available, we took some time to research a few yachting options that look really good to us. It is best practice to select listings that have written, positive reviews and owners with prompt response times.

Option One: Miami Yacht Charter

Have an unforgettable time cruising around Miami on this Sea Ray 540 Sundancer . The yacht features three air-conditioned bedrooms, two bathrooms, a captain, and a host. Fuel costs are included in this listing.

Our Below Deck Connection

As my favorite region on the globe, we spend a lot of time in the Mediterranean—a destination practically synonymous with yachting. In fact, Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 2 was based in Podstrana, Croatia, a seaside city where we lived for over two years. Remember when Glen smashed Parsifal III into the marina? That was our old backyard!

Friends With Glen and Gary

In 2021, we were living in Sarandë, located on the beautiful Albanian Riviera . While on our balcony, Harry immediately recognized Parsifal III cruising into the city port.

We quickly went to Captain Glen’s Instagram account and saw his recent posts of him sailing around Corfu, Greece, a huge island that sits directly next to southern Albania. This had to be him!

Excitedly, we reached out to the Below Deck captain via Instagram and discovered that both Glen and Gary were indeed refueling in Albania, due to lower fuel costs.

They kindly chatted with us for a bit as we watched the gorgeous sailboat maneuver back out to sea. It was awesome to connect with the same folks that we enjoy watching on Below Deck Mediterranean.

How much does a Below Deck charter cost?

What is the cost of a Below Deck charter?

How much does a Below Deck charter cost? It is a question fans have been asking for the past eight seasons of the hit Bravo show.

Now that the yachting show has added Below Deck Mediterranean and Below Deck Sailing Yacht into the mix, viewers are obsessed with the franchise. Fans can’t get enough of the drama, boatmances, and the over the top charter guests with their crazy demands.

Below Deck charter cost

According to Distractify, Below Deck guests can expect to vacation on luxury yachts 150 to 160 feet long with exquisite guest quarters and multiple decks.

The Below Deck crew caters to the guest’s every need, from service to food and ensuring the guests have fun water toys to play on. There are also multiple excursions and party requests that have to be met.

It costs the guests a pretty penny to ensure they are taken care of in the entitled manner each group is used to. My Seanna is the yacht featured on Season 8, and online reports estimate it costs around $300,000 per week to rent.

Below Deck guests get a discount

Since the charters on Below Deck are either two or three days, as opposed to seven days, guests are given a discount on the yacht rental.

Below Deck producer and creator Mark Cronin has confirmed that guests on the Bravo show pay for their own charters. There are no free rides just to be on the reality TV show.

Mark spilled that since the charters are shorter and guests are filmed, groups receive a 50% discount on charters. Now that means between the rental price and crew tip, guests are still paying a nice chunk of change for a few days in paradise.

View this post on Instagram   A post shared by Below Deck (@belowdeckbravo)

There has been speculation that Bravo pays guests to be on the show. However, that has never been confirmed, nor has if the crew gets paid by Bravo.

The luxury boats often receive a different name for production purposes too. For example, Below Deck Season 2 yacht Ohana was actually named Rhino. Plus, Below Deck Med Season 5 yacht The Wellington’s name is really The Wellesley.

Fans have lots of questions regarding Below Deck, including the amount of money the crew makes, charter costs, and the show’s authenticity.

While a lot of information has been uncovered, Bravo works hard to keep details private. It is a reality TV show, after all.

Below Deck airs Mondays at 9/8c on Bravo.

How To Work On A Luxury Motor Yacht

Below Deck features the lives of the motor yacht crew in addition to the guests. Having a career on a super yacht is a lot of hard work. Benefits include travel and amazing salaries. However, if you want to work on a motor yacht here are the steps. The first step of working on a motor Yacht is to research the position that you want. You will need to find out what skills and certificates you will need to work on a motor yacht, in the position you want.

Next, you will need to get your ENG1 Medical Certificate. This certificate proves that you are medically fit and physically capable of working on a yacht. Next, you will need to attend yacht stewardess or deckhand training. These trainings include STCW Certificates, which is a minimum requirement. In addition, you will need other certificates like the Powerboat level 2 Security training, and VHF Radio training.

Once all of your training is finished you will need to sign up for a yacht crew agency. This agency provides access to employment on a network of yachts and is a good way to get your first position on a super yacht.

Lastly, you want to head to the location where you want to work. You will need to obtain a work visa from the local authorities and pass through any required quarantine periods before being able to work on a super yacht.

Parsifal III: Meet the star of Below Deck's sailing yacht spin-off

As the 54 metre superyacht Parsifal III returns to screens for season three of Below Deck Sailing Yacht , her owner Kim Vibe-Petersen talks through the realities of filming a reality TV series on board his boat.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht is a spin-off series of the hit superyacht reality TV show Below Deck that follows the lives of the crew and guests across an eight-week charter season. This week, producers confirmed the show will return for a third season of crew drama and on-the-water antics with Perini Navi sailing yacht Parsifal III in the starring role and Captain Glenn Shephard at the helm.

For Danish owner Kim Vibe-Petersen, Parsifal III' s return is yet another opportunity to show off the yacht's charter credentials. Vibe-Petersen was personally approached by Below Deck producers in 2018 after they struggled to find a suitable sailing yacht. Parsifal III fitted the bill as she was already equipped for charter and a number of her existing crew were willing to take part in the show.

The Perini Navi sailing yacht first hit the water in 2005 and rose to instant fame scoring a number of prestigious accolades including a coveted Neptune at the World Superyacht Awards. On her launch she also joined the ranks as one of the fast Perini Navi superyachts on the water with a top speed of 18 knots under full sail granted by two high-tech carbon masts, automated in-boom furling and a winged keel.

Vibe-Petersen admitted there were some yacht owners who didn’t want the names of their yachts connected with the drama-filled reality show, but he “didn’t have that concern.” Although he had the option to change the yacht’s name for filming, he decided to keep it to maximise the charter appeal of  Parsifal III .

“It’s free advertising,” he said. “The name of the yacht will come to people’s minds, especially to someone who has never chartered a yacht before. They will see that name and know the boat from the show.”

Vibe-Petersen was also keen to secure a guaranteed packed charter schedule during low season. “I think there were a lot of boats that did not want to be chartered for the show but it's good money in the bank,” he said.

While admitting he might not be the “specific audience targeted by the series,” he said he has sat down to watch the first series, which took place in Corfu. Even in Vibe-Peterson’s home country of Denmark, the US show has gained a big following.

“This is the kind of show where they want to make a little drama,” he added. “It’s not that wild on board a normal charter.” The conveyor belt of colourful guests are chosen by the production team and given a “big discount” for appearing on the show.

Vibe-Petersen also explained the complicated logistics of filming Below Deck , each season of which features 16 charters filmed across a period of eight weeks. This means that two groups of guests separately charter the yacht in a single week. Meanwhile, the production team require a time period of at least a week to get  Parsifal III  rigged up and fit for filming. “There are 30 people on board each day with lots of wires and cameras – it’s a big, big operation."

Season one was filmed in Corfu, Greece, which posed a number of challenges for  Parsifal III as the sailing yacht was required to have a specific charter licence. “It’s pretty tough to get that,” said Vibe-Petersen. “It’s not something we can do within a short amount of time. It can take 10 to 12 weeks to get a charter licence so it takes time.”

For her second season, Parsifal III was filmed cruising Croatia's 3,600 miles of coastline. This season, the show will follow Parsifal III as she cruises around the Spanish island of Menorca, carrying a mix of new and old crew. Returning faces include chief stew Daisy Kelliher, chief engineer Colin MacRae, and first mate Gary King while new chef Marcos Spaziani will grace the screen for the first time together with second stew Gabriela Barragan, third stew Ashley Marti and deckhands Kelsie Goglia and Tom Pearson.

‘Below Deck’ Charter Guests Break Silence On Low Tip Controversy

Below Deck Charter Guests Break Silence On Low Tip Controversy [Credit: YouTube]

The charter guests of Below Deck Sailing Yacht are speaking out about that low tip. In the Monday, March 14, episode, the notorious charter guests only tipped $6,500, which is the lowest in the show’s history. The charter guests are already making history for all the wrong reasons. Fans called them the worst charter guests in Below Deck history.

Erica Rose returned with her mom, Cindi Rae Rose, and her husband, Charles Sanders. Chief stew Daisy Kelliher was not excited about her returning, and the two have been in a war of words ever since. In fact, the charter guests haven’t stopped talking about their time on the yacht.

Erica Rose explains the reason for the low tip

Erica made an appearance on the Another Below Deck podcast . She explained that her fellow guests refused to contribute to their tip. The group knew they were responsible for the tip. While they were aware of the rules, they didn’t want to tip the hard-working crew members.

“The whole group is responsible for tipping. We had to pick up the slack for everyone else because no one else tipped.”

As Below Deck Sailing Yacht fans know, the crew busted their behinds to make the charter guests happy. In a previous episode, Erica’s husband Charles received backlash for calling the food “disgusting” and that he had better at a “ballpark.” He claims that producers told him to call out Chef Marco Spaziani’s food.

Below Deck Charter Guests Charles And Erica [Credit: Instagram]

The couple said that all of the guests had to contribute to the tip. If that were the case, that would’ve brought the tip to $25,000. She claims they had a serious conversation about the tip before leaving the boat. Yet, her former friends have a different story as well as the proof.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 3 crew got the worst tip in history

Both Erica and Charles got called out for their lies. Per Monsters & Critics , fellow charter guests Rhett and Janelle Flatt said they have proof of a conversation she had with Erica. Janelle took to her Instagram account to share screenshots of their text message exchange. She claims that Erica lied about the tip.

In the text message exchange, Janelle asked Erica how much they should tip the crew. Erica responded, “Our price includes tip! We can bring cash and tip extra if we want. I over tipped last time. I think prices is ($) 5000/ per person including tip!! Not per couple. [SIC].”

Erica also seemingly wrote, “So it’s like ($) 3,000 per person, the $900 required tip and then ($)1,100 airfare is how it comes out to $5,000.”

Rhett became the hero of the show when he called out Charles for slamming the food. In another scene at their beach lunch, Charles called Janelle a “b***,” Rhett approached him and threatened to punch him out. Many Below Deck Sailing Yacht fans praised him for it. Janelle had more to say on Instagram and said they were never friends of Erica and Charles.

Janelle is a hairstylist and Erica was one of her clients. Erica invited her to the yacht trip, and of course, she wanted to go. But the moment they left the yacht, she fired Erica. The two are no longer speaking.

What are your thoughts on the tip? Do you agree that it’s the worst in the show’s history? Sound off below in the comment section. Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 3 airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET, on Bravo.

Haha, sure. You understand that no one believes your made up story.

Not just the worst guests, Charles, Erica, and Cindi are horrible humans. However, producers do pull people aside and give directions for story line. Charles may be telling the truth about that one thing, especially since he praised the dinner at first. Best dinner he ever had, apparently. I wish producers would stop. It doesn’t have to be drama all the time!!!

The most classless was LaQuisah from episode 13 season 10. She requested gold steak. She was a pain in the a– 7 a HUGE glutton. You can tell that she eats at Popeyes, and Red Lobster, and would take all the shrimp even if she didn’t eat it.

Fuel is a significant expense when chartering a yacht

Book early to get the best deals

As soon as you decide to go on a charter, start looking for available dates and book as early as possible. This will give you the best chance of finding a good deal and securing the yacht that you want.

Booking early also gives you more time to plan your trip and make any necessary arrangements, such as flights, accommodations, and activities. This can help you save money on these other expenses as well.

Negotiating with a charter broker to get lower costs

Charter brokers are the intermediaries between charter guests and yacht owners. They can help you find the right yacht for your needs and budget, and negotiate the best price for you.

When working with a charter broker, you may need to be upfront about your budget and what you are looking for in a yacht. You can try asking if there are any discounts or special deals available, and negotiate the price if necessary.

The charter broker's commission is usually included in the price of the charter, so they may be willing to lower their commission in order to secure your business.

Share the cost with your friends

By splitting the cost of the charter, you can reduce your individual expenses and still enjoy the luxury and experience of a private yacht. However, try to discuss the details of the trip, such as the itinerary, activities, and food and drink preferences.

You may also want to consider setting up a joint bank account or using a payment app to make it easier to split the costs and keep track of expenses.

Choose a less popular time or destination

Yacht charters are in high demand during peak seasons and popular destinations, which can drive up the cost of the charter. Perhaps consider scheduling your trip during the off-season or choosing a less popular destination. This can help you find a better deal on the charter, as well as save money on other travel expenses such as flights and accommodations.

Below Deck Salaries: What We Know About How Much the Cast Makes

In July 2013, Bravo fans’ horizons were expanded when the network introduced its nautical series, Below Deck . Until then, we had no idea that you could make a living out of being a yachtie, which took you to exotic locations and gave you some great cash tips. At its start , it consisted of wide-eyed young adults who wanted a bit of escapism from their everyday lives. Many were running away from breakups or family situations or couldn’t stay any longer in their small town. Below Deck stood out because it brought not only female viewership but male viewership as well.

Bravo camera’s only job was to follow the crew in and out of the small, windy corridors. Most of the time, there was plenty of drama to go around, and some even had to walk the plank (i.e., be sent packing.) Undoubtedly, there were more than one messy boatmances that ended in tears. But the end of charter feeling always bailed the stars out as they walked away a little wiser and richer for their troubles.

It isn’t surprising that Below Deck stars make way less than their other Bravo counterparts. But this could be because they also have a salary from the boat. But, oddly, they are expected to commit to filming a full series and complete all their tasks on board. Bravo has maximized the series’ success and even created multiple spinoffs, including Below Deck Mediterranean in 2015, Below Deck Sailing Yacht in 2020, and Below Deck Down Under in 2022.

The rookies

Thanks to Crew Finder , I have researched what we can estimate each person makes within their role. For those working as deckhands like Sunny Marquis , she could easily bring home $60,000 a year. A boson on a yacht the size of the St. David could also pocket $66,000. No wonder Ben Willoughby wanted Jared Woodin’s job! Chef Anthony Iracane is new to the series but has four years of experience in yachting. The French-born chef also has more years behind the skillet. Someone of his skill set would be paid around $85,000 a year. It is important to note that the Below Deck crew doesn’t work a full charter season when filming, so hypothetically, they could move on to another boat and earn even more.

The big honchos

Meanwhile, a chief stew like Fraser Olender could be taking home $84,000 a year. Honestly, the man should get paid more after chartering guests like Jill Zarin . The head of the boat, Captain Kerry Titheradge , is, of course, the highest earner with the most responsibility. To captain a vessel of that size, Captain Kerry would be looking to be compensated at $228,000 annually.

Now, when it comes to the crew’s Bravo paycheck, Business Insider has reported that they receive a small fee for their participation. Earlier, Below Deck cast members argued that they were severely underpaid. The fee is said to be around $5,000 to $6,000 a month. The math doesn’t math here for me since Below Deck has always been a top-rated show that brings in the viewers.

A former stew, Ashley Marti , who appeared on Season 3 of Below Deck Sailing Yacht, told the outlet, “We’re on TV, but technically, we’re the help,” she said. “We don’t get the same treatment.” The proof is in the pudding since some of the Real Housewives can get one million per season. And stars on Southern Charm can get $25,000 per episode.

Their side hustles

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Barbara Pascual (@barbiepascuall)

Like many other Bravo stars, some of the Below Deck crew also have a few side hustles to keep their pockets full. Barbie Pascual owns her own table decor company, Beyond the Table By Barbie. Captain Terry owns his own business called Yachting Concepts. He also participates in Cameo and charges $99 for a personal video. Some other Below Deck franchise stars, like Kate Chastain , have gone on to appear on other NBC shows, too. Each Below Deck star is clearly working hard for their money, but should they maybe earn more? I think so!
