Townsville Yacht Club

Ratings and reviews, location and contact.

Such a lovely venue and the meals were good but today the service was slow. The restaurant was busy but not packed out and we wait d almost an hour for our main meals to come. Then the meals came out in drive and drabs... so those that waited for everyone to be served had a cold lunch. The waiter did apologise about the wait. More

We have eaten here many times before and returned recently after we haven't been there in a couple of years. They have upped their game to include fine dining! We enjoyed Thai pumpkin soup and garlic bread for starters. For mains we had the barra... in sweet potato mash and salsa verde, and the stir fry. The stir fry was a little oily, but great flavour. Our favourite was the dessert. The best sticky date EVER! Homemade onsite. They have a new chef who has outdone himself. Just be prepared to pay fine dining prices, because it is a lot more expensive than it used to be. We paid about $117 for the two mains, two soups ($14 each) with one garlic bread, two sodas, and the dessert. Samantha gave us perfect service, and nothing was too hard. Give this place a try. It has an amazing marina view right on the water front. You won't be disappointed. More

We visited the yacht club with friends of ours and loved it the staff were lovely and the meals were fantastic. We had a 12 month old with us and it was very kid friendly while still being a nice lunch for the adults. I... had the beef salad and I’m not normally one for a salad but I saw someone else with it and had to try it. The salad was very filling and the flavors were sensational. Drinks were cold and the service was quick. We will be back 😊 More

This is about my meal only, Food provided to others in the group looked good which made mine all the more disappointing. The interpretation of “Thai” in the Thai beef salad differs greatly from my own. Nicely cooked beef was tasteless, green”goop” poured over the... salad was like coloured clag glue, not a hint of the expected usual Asian ingredients and when I pointed out their failings I was bought another dish of same goop. I would be surprised if my displeasure was fed back to the chefs. No acknowledgement or apologies given! I would be happy to lend them my Thai Cookbook or perhaps they could look it up on the internet. Final comment....YUCK! More

Unfortunately the best part of the Yacht Club is the location. I was with a group of 9, all our meals arrived at the table across a 20min timeframe. Food was very average, made worse by the expensive price tag 38 to 43 for the... steak. Our night was finish with trying to pay our bill which took 30min for the staff to agree we could pay it at the bar. More

The meals that did come out took over 1.5hours and did not come out in any order. Some kids waited over 1.5hrs for spaghetti. After 2 hours of waiting 3 people at the party were told they had lost the dockets for their food so... they didn't even receive a meal. These people then left and went to Hungry Jacks for a meal as it was now 9.30pm and the kitchen was closed! Not one glass or plate was cleared in the 3 hours we had the room. Hank in the bar was rude and I was given the wrong drink. When I questioned this I was told "That being rude is just his personality" What an extremely big let down for a 40th Birthday Party More

We recently dined there for my mum’s birthday and asked for a ‘quieter’ table to accommodate one of our party who is hard of hearing. Appreciate there is no such thing as a quiet table on a Saturday night but the person who took the... booking was lovely and said she’d try her best and write a note against the booking. We were sat at the loudest possible table directly in front of a live singer. No one at our table could hear a thing let alone the hard of hearing person and the staff were rude and dismissive. Disappointing and ruined a special occasion. More

Poor service from wait staff, spaghetti carbonara was cold and we had to take it back, salad was not fresh and was just poorly done. No salt and pepper on the table. Service at the bar was very slow and we had to actually tell... staff to serve us. We won’t be back. Sorry TCYC but you need to lift your game. More

Went to the Yacht Club for dinner last night based on its location. TBH, that’s the best thing about it😔 It was nice on the deck, but the food and service were average at best! We had to find someone to take our order after... about 20 minutes, not a great start. You order your drinks at the bar and they take your food order at the table. Not sure why you don’t order your food and drinks yourself, pretty standard at most clubs and would have alleviated our initial wait. The calamari starter was over cooked, but the salad with pickled ginger almost saved it. Our chicken parmy and mackerel and chips mains, were below average and average respectively. I wouldn’t come back any time soon and the only reason I wouldn’t rate it a 2 was the deck area. More

The yacht club & the marina is in a nice location in Townsville an the water edge. Service was quite good we had over 100 people in our group & they handled it with ease. Food was very nice, Chicken and fish cooked just right... a credit to the chef, only down side was lining up for drinks not a enough staff to start with but they fix that. All in all a wonderful day. More

We joined friends for dinner, I’ve been coming here for 5 years and am a social member. Hubby and I ordered a few dishes to share. We asked for a fork so my husband could eat his meal, but it was forgotten, so he used... a small oyster fork. We were the only ones sitting outside, I think it was too far for the waiters to walk. Our meals have definitely been better in the past. This visit, not so enjoyable. My friends lamb rack was horrible. Even the manager tasted it and agreed it wasn’t good. The service was only happening when food was delivered to our table. Nobody checking on drink orders while 6 of us waited. Wish the chefs were consistent with their food, it would make a difference to the standard. More

We were very disappointed with our last meal at this venue. We had a nice table with a view of the water but unfortunately the food just wasn’t the best we have had there. The garlic bread was very dry and tasteless and my garlic... prawns (4) and rice were almost cold when I received them. My husbands seafood medley was not well cooked and also nearly cold. Our drinks arrived after our meals and only then because our waitperson noticed we hadn’t yet received them and went and got them himself. We realise the restaurant was having a busy night but maybe management should think about how many bookings to take for the number of staff they have available. We have had lunch at this venue in the past and we enjoyed it much more than the night time experience. More

The risotto is the most expensive in Townsville. Its nothing special either just a tomato basil and spinach one with parmasan. We asked for without parmasan but were not offered an alternative and had to pay the full price of $25 even though we had... less food. There was no presentation , not even some decorative herbs to top it. It looked like it had been poured out of a can. It looked and tasted very plain. More

We have been going to the club for years but I'm not sure what has happened. Had a terrible experience late last year with food and service - thought it was a one-off and hadn't been back since. Went there a few nights ago and... the service was better but the food was below average again. Food was overcooked - pork wellington dry and friends had medium eye fillet that was a piece of shoe leather. Disappointing and won't be back. More

Went with my wife with great expectations,my friend suggested the place. the food was horrible doesn’t matter what kind of meat you order they are simply not edible: dry, over cooked or no taste at all. Train more the chef on the grill for God... sake! More
