Sailing is at the core of Roblox Arcane Odyssey since the islands are separated by a huge ocean that can't be crossed just by swimming.

If you take one look at the map of Roblox Arcane Odyssey, you'll be able to see the sea separating different islands from each other. In the first few minutes of the game, you'll have to use your Rowboat to get to Redwake Harbor. Rowing and Sailing are at the core of this open-sea game.

You can have a total of three ships apart from the Rowboat, and there are plenty of enemies roaming around the sea that'll take their chance to sink you. The game is quite punishing when it comes to damage to your ship, so you can't be careless with it.

You can't use the Rowboat to go around the map in Arcane Odyssey since it doesn't have any spots for Cannons or other ship parts . Moreover, it takes stamina if you want to row faster, which can be quite frustrating to deal with if you're sailing for a long distance. Thankfully, you can easily buy your first ship with a sail.

There are Shipwright NPCs located on most of the islands in Arcane Odyssey. You'll be able to see a marker for these NPCs when you zoom in on an island . Islands like Ravenna can even have two Shipwright NPCs in different cities. Head over to the Shipwright NPC in Redwake to buy a Sailboat for 300 Galleons.

You can easily make 300 Galleons by helping people around Redwake and doing the fishing quest a couple of times . You can also sell these fishes for some more Galleons, but keep in mind that they rot after 24 hours.

You'll have to get to the southern islands to be able to buy the other two ships. For example, you can buy a Caravel in the Sailor's Lodge area and Ketch in Ravenna . Though these ships cost quite a lot of Galleons. Moreover, you can't interact with the Shipwright NPCs on normal islands if you have a bounty.

In that case, you'll have to find Criminal Shipwrights located on specific islands. You can only buy Ketch from Whitesummit if you have a bounty since the entire island is dedicated to criminals . These Criminal Shipwrights will also help you open Sealed Chests if you have a bounty.

You won't be able to indulge in combat of Arcane Odyssey without a crew. This is because you have to steer the ship, control the sails, and use the cannons all at the same time . You'll easily be defeated if your ship stands still during the battle while you wait for your opponent to come in cannon range.

This issue is solved by the crew members, and you can get them at three different places. The first crew is located at Redwake itself, and you can buy them for some Galleons . The second and third group is located in Sailor's Lodge and Ravenna respectively. The crew you get in Ravenna is the best.

If you have multiple ships, you'll only be able to use a certain crew on one ship. You'll have to switch them over if you plan to use a different vessel and respawn it afterward . You can also hire multiple Quartermasters in the seas of the Arcane Odyssey.

Some Quartermasters will ask you to complete a series of quests while others require a certain amount of Fame or Bounty.

Once you buy a certain type of ship, you'll be able to put different parts on it using the ship-shaped option on the bottom left of your screen . Here's everything you can place on different ships:

You'll find Blueprints for most of these ship parts, and they can be created at any Builder NPC. The Blueprints can be found by opening Bronze Sealed Chests at Shipwright NPCs .

The most fun mechanic in Arcane Odyssey is the ship battles. You'll encounter a ton of NPC and player ships while sailing the Bronze Sea , and some of them will be hostile depending on your fame or bounty:

• If you have a Neutral rating or have some Fame, the Pirate and Assassin ships will attack you if you get too close.
• On the other hand, all ships except the Assassin vessels will attack you if you have a Bounty in your name. Moreover, the Grand Navy will send out ships to capture you if you have high Notoriety.

You can still attack the Grand Navy, Ravenna, and Merchant ships while sailing the seas if you have Fame, but they might not spawn any loot since you won't be able to attack the people on the ship unless you have a Bounty.

As mentioned above, you need to have a crew if you want to engage in sea battles. Once you've located a target you want to attack, go near them while ensuring that you stay out of their broadside . Get close enough and start shooting them with your cannons. To do this, click on the Arm Cannons button above your health bar.

This option will only appear if you have a crew on the ship, and you'll be able to select the cannon types when they're armed . After selecting the correct cannons, aim at either side of your ship and you'll see some white lines showing you where the cannons will go. Aim at the target ship and light them up.

There's a short delay between you pressing the shoot button and the cannons firing. Moreover, there is a cooldown for a few seconds between each round of cannon fire . This cooldown can be identified by the color of the aimed lines since they get grayed out when they're in cooldown.

Aim the cannon at the top part of the ship's Hull since you'll not hit them if you aim too low. You'll see a health bar at the top once you've damaged the enemy vessel at least once . When they reach zero health, the ship will be sunk but it will stay on the surface. The hardest part of the ship battle starts after this.

If you want to loot the treasure, you'll first have to defeat the crew members of the enemy ship . Your crew won't help you in this endeavor, and things can get tough if the enemies have a captain on board. This is why it's important to target smaller ships unless you're in the late game.

Sailing can be quite overwhelming at the start, but a few tips can make things a lot easier:

• You'll find Lost Cargo and Castaways while sailing the seas. The former can repair your ship and give you useful items while you can take the latter to a shore to get some rewards.
• You can change ship name and color if you get Paintbrush or Name cards while exploring the land of Arcane Odyssey.
• If your ship takes any damage while you're sailing, you can either repair it with a Hammer or pay a Shipwright to do it . It's much cheaper if you do it at the NPC, but keep a Hammer in your inventory for dire times. The ship will stay damaged even if you respawn it or change servers.

General information about Ships

You can apply a whole lantern slot and armour slot to the rowboat. There is no need to use sailboats in the future as it’s just ineffective. You must use Caribou to farm bronze chests from sinking ships and it has a ram slot. It also has one quartermaster slot but has less durability and speed compared to the Catch. The Catch is better for fast travelling and you can put on more cargo on it. You can have Edward Kenton and Enizor, the main quartermaster that you need to use on your ship.

The ship upgrades are arranged from common to uncommon. There are some ammunition upgrades and some upgrades arrive from level.

Best Hull armour

The best whole armour is the bronze framing; because it’s faster for farming .

Available Quartermasters

Enizor and Edward Canton are the only quartmasters that you can get.

Available Crew

The Redwake Warriors, Sailors, and the Ravenna deserters are three crews in the game. It is recommended to use the Ravenna deserters most of the time.

Best Cannons

The Lesser cannons are probably the best cannons; you can enchant them with swift to sail faster. It might be different for you depending on your magic.

Lesser rams are the rarest Rams. Do not get confused by the name if you have any magic named after real material.

Sail Material

The sail material is an important aspect of the ships. The Hemp Sailcloth is the best option to pick. There is no need to go for Flax Sailcloth or the Cotton Sailcloth.

How to farm upgrades for your ship

You need to pick the catch until you get a proper Ram. If you have it already, then equip the caravel , put the stuff on that and then dock your Caravel for farming.

Once on your caravel, you have to press ‘ F ‘ for ramming speed and then charge at the ship to deal damage.

Just kill all of them and you will get bronze-sealed chests. Open the chests and you will get blueprints to build these ship upgrades.

After that, drive back to one of the Havens and trade them at the shipwright. Go there and hold ‘ Q ‘ to sell them. You will get blueprints for that.

Head to a builder with a blue icon , talk to him and then let the NPC build the stuff. It will cost a lot of money for the whole framing/

Tricks for Quartermaster

You can acquire both quartermasters early in the game. You can do them in the late-game while grinding for ship equipment.

How to get the first Quartermaster

You need to go to RedWake and the first quartermaster will be on Elm Island.

You have to accept his quest on that island, as he will ask you to catch 20 fish with a fishing rod. Talk to Edward Kenton and accept the quest, complete it and then you can see him unlocked as a Quartermaster.

You can upgrade him by doing a quest. Once you put him on your ship, you will get him the next time you re-dock your ship.

How to get the second Quartermaster

Afterwards, go to the next Island, Frostmill to get this second quartermaster Erizon. Talk to him and he will give you a quest to gather pine cones .

Gather them, and then give them to Erizon.

He will give you another quest to gather clamps, so make your way to the next Island to get those clamps.

After that, go back to Enizor and give these clamps to him to finish the quest. He will ask you to pick up some melons from another island, so go there and steal that guy’s melons and then head back to Erizon.

Talk to him and then you will recruit him as your second quartermaster.

Enizor’s purpose on your ship

Enizor is also just like a regular Alchemist .

How to upgrade Edward Kenton

You can upgrade Edward Kenton as he will ask you to go to Silverhold to get back his gear.

You just have to run through, and defeat three Navy guards.

Then go on the ship, and take command of the ship to finish the quest. Talk to him again and you will have the upgraded version of Edward Kenton.

Overview [ ]

Ships are the primary method of crossing the vast War Seas . Ships come in a variety of sizes and shapes, each of which has benefits and drawbacks, they could be large well fortified and armed battle ships or nimble yet flimsy sail ships. You can buy ships and ship supplies at shipwright NPCs found on islands across the world.

Ships are able to be customized, they have slots in which ship parts such as sails, hulls, rams, cannons, and other miscellaneous items can be equipped. These are obtainable from a variety of chests , especially from sealed chests . You can obtain upgrades and designs from blueprints brought to a builder in towns to unlock and build them. There are also player-made ship build customizers .

"More Colors" Gamepass

Ship Parts can be equipped and swapped in the shipyard, ship parts include ship weaponry, lanterns, sails, edges, hulls, etc.

Most slots give Ship Stats , which effects how your ship handles and operates. The most notable of the slots would be the Hull and the Sails , as they effect the majority of your ship's stats. However, certain slots are purely cosmetic, such as the sail design and lantern slots.

Ship Titles [ ]

There are also ship titles that appear publicly alongside a ship's name, which are based on level/health/ship parts:

Level 0) No Title [ ]

• Available to both NPC and Player ships that don't have a higher-tier hull equipped.
• Only the weakest ships hold no title.

Level 1) Reinforced [ ]

• Available to all NPC ships and player ships with level 90+ Hull.
• NPC ships cannot have this in the Nimbus Sea .

Level 2) Fortified [1] [ ]

• Available to all NPC ships, however this tier and all the ones below are currently not available to player ships.
• NPC ships such as Pirates , Grand Navy and Assassin Syndicate ships have this in the Bronze Sea and Nimbus Sea .
• Atlantean ships found in range 2 have this tier.

Level 3) Heavy [ ]

• NPC ships such as Pirates and Sameria Navy ships have this in the Nimbus Sea .
• Grand Navy ships that spawn to chase high notoriety players will have this title in the Bronze Sea .
• Atlantean ships found in range 3 have this tier.

Level 4) Armored [ ]

• Atlantean ships found in range 4 have this tier.

Level 5) Heavily Armored [ ]

• Grand Navy ships that spawn to chase high notoriety players will have this title in the Nimbus Sea .
• Atlantean ships found in range 5 have this tier.

Level 6) Greatly Armored [ ]

• Currently Atlantean exclusive, only found in range 6.

Level 7) Majorly Armored [ ]

• Currently Atlantean exclusive, only found in range 6 if you enter the Dark Sea in the Nimbus Sea. It is currently the highest ranked ship title.

Mechanics [ ]

• While moving backwards in a rowboat, you will move at half of the speed going forward. If you press the sprint key (ctrl), the player will row the boat faster at the cost of stamina.
• Anything that is placed in the ship's deck, such as Cargo, Sealed Chests, and Gunpowder Barrels, will sink alongside with it until they go under the surface-level, where they will float on the surface.
• Everything in held in your Ship Storage will be erased if you Combat-Log!
• Ship will sink lower in the water depending on how much percentage of Durability they have and will also have cracks in them which appear more and more. these things are reversed by repairing the ship.
• Ship have an overhead UI that shows the owner's clan icon, the ship's name, the ship's title if it has one, and the ship's durability bar if it has taken damage. The ship name's color depends on the color of the clan.
• The notification also appears if you die again, showing either 2 minutes, 1 minute, or 30 seconds left on the timer (whichever is the closest to the current timer).
• NPC ships have halved aggravation range at night and during foggy weather.
• Ships get their speed/turning reduced when they have less than 60% of their max Durability.
• Only Caravels and Brigs have the ability to use rams, which will allow you to both ram into ships to cause massive damage and activate "Ramming Speed", which multiplies your ship's current speed by the Ramming Speed. [2]

Ship Customization [ ]

Ships larger than the brig (frigate+) will have an instanced interior that is highly costumizable with furniture and trophies of some sort. Since this will only be available to high level ships, new players wont be overwhelmed by the new items. This feature will probably be implemented in nimbus sea part 2, along with the new ships.

Captain's Quarters [ ]

Certain ships (currently only the Brig) have the captain's quarters, a customizable room containing many things, which include:

• A cooking pot
• A jewelcrafting table
• Banners of the kingdoms you visit in the story (said to be 10)
• A bounty board and assassination contracts
• A board with clues about the Order of Aesir
• Customizable paintings/banner images (2 Large, 2 Small)
• Piles of galleons that reflect the amount of galleons you have
• A bed that allows you to set your spawn (only functional outside of the Dark Sea )
• A gem rack which allows you to display each gem type (gems do not apply any kind of effect to the ship, they are simply decorative and cannot be taken out after putting them in)
• A fish tank which can hold up to 5 fish (fish will rot at the normal rate while inside, but will not decay into bones until about 2 hours after being taken out) (all fish varieties will be the same size, but golden fish will be golden)
• A bath, used to remove Water Poisoning while in the Dark Sea and visual dirt from the character
• A functional captain's chair
• Travelling over land with your ship will damage it over time. The amount of damage is dependent on the ship's weight. (so upgraded hulls would take the same damage as un-upgraded ones from sailing on land, but would give the ship more durability)
• Bumping into rocks and other land while travelling in your ship will cause it to take slight damage. Sand and shores of islands are not included in this, and this damage is the same amount taken per tick when sailing over land.

• Ships will take damage when they fall from the sky. The amount is 35 x the seconds spent falling, multiplied again by the boat's weight, which is an internal value.
• Ships can take damage from normal player or NPC attacks, but will receive significantly less damage. However, cannon fist deals full damage.
• Ships can take damage from the cannons/rams/siege weapons/ship attachments of others.

Repair is a feature of ships that allows for damages inflicted on a ship to be repaired in one of 5 ways. Repairing can be done with any shipwright NPC or with a repair hammer, furthermore, supply crates commandeered by your crew and sinking NPC Ships of any kind can help repair your ships damages.

• Using the Repair Hammer on your ship will repair it for 8.33 health per galleon . The type does not matter, as the normal repair hammer will repair 25 health for 3 galleons and the bronze repair hammer will repair 50 health for 6 galleons.
• If you have Cargo (not sealed chests) onboard your ship, you can tell your Quartermaster to repair the ship using either 5 crates, half of your crates, or all of your crates until fully repaired. If you have positive Renown , then the calculation comes out to 8 health per galleon . (400 health each) If you have negative Renown, then this repair is free .
• Going to a Shipwright and asking them to repair your ships gives a cost of the health being repaired/16 and then rounded up Verify , which is usually around 15.8 health per galleon .
• Picking up lost cargo scattered throughout the sea will recover 7.5% of your ship's max health.
• Sinking a ship will recover ??? % of your ship's max health.

Storage [ ]

When sailing between seas, anything placed on the deck of a ship is placed into its “storage”, which can be viewed by a prompt at one of the ship’s grates on the deck. Objects in the ship’s storage save between servers

• All of a ship’s storage is lost when sunk.
• The contents of the ship storage are only sold when a quartermaster to unloads the ship.

Ship Crews are NPCs that you can hire aboard your ship, given it has a crew slot. While equipped, they will provide extra stats for your ship and fire the cannons upon the player's command. They also have dialogue that will fire randomly, or during certain events, such as your ship taking heavy damage. Crew can be killed, however, this does not affect the player's ability to fire the cannon from the captain's seat. They are also required in order to unload cargo and repair the ship with cargo.

Quartermasters can change the stats of your ship or provide you a service, such as enchanting. They are found through doing quests . They can also automatically unload cargo, sealed chests, and gunpowder barrels, and order your crew to repair the ship using cargo.

Traveler NPCs can join your crew as Deckhands , and will provide your ship extra stats and boosts . Deckhands also have their own progression system which includes professions, tiers, level, and loyalty.

Skyships [ ]

Skyships are a form of transportation used to travel high in the skies - allowing transport between the various sky islands. They can be acquired on Cirrus Island and certain story locations.

Skyships have an energy bar that drains while it is in use. When energy runs out, the ship will fall and crash into the ocean. This will always destroy the ship, regardless of height, even falling just a foot is enough to destroy it. Energy can be recharged by hovering closely over an island cloud. (the docking place is too high) By toggling the sails, you can move and direct the ship horizontally and E or Q to ascend or descend vertically. Each Skyship also has a maximum and minimum altitude, outside of which energy usage will rise rapidly.

Due to the proximity of Cirrus and Skycliff Island to the Dark Sea , it is possible to get a Skyship into the Dark Sea. Doing so will cause you to take damage at first, and then sailing on indefinitely until you run out of energy.

• The left side of a ship is called port side, with the right side being called starboard side. The rear of the ship is called the stern, while the front of the ship is called the bow.
• Ships in the previous game, Arcane Adventures, could not be equipped with items. However, they could be customized and upgraded with scrolls.
• The flight spell was cut from the game specifically due to them being deemed unnecessary for travel, as ships would take on that role.
• When a player ship is stationary, and close to a valid object (another stationary ship or terrain object), a gangplank may appear between the two.
• Sailboats used to cost 600 Galleons prior to free early access. Verify
• Leaving the game will remove your ship from the server.
• The Skyship appears to use the same technology as the sky skates in Arcane Adventures.
• It is possible to sail on ice on the Frostmill region seen in this video seen at 1:20, and 4:23-4:27.
• The Rowboat is the only ship which movement has to be manually controlled with W and S by the player.
• Ships will take significantly less damage from direct player/NPC attacks (~80%). Verify
• In Arcane Adventures, you could previously steal ships from NPCs after defeating everyone on it. This was removed in Arcane Odyssey, due to the ship sinking once all NPCs on the ship are defeated.
• The Brig can hold over 200 sealed chests if space is well managed.
• Ships can be made to fit a players needs. (Cargo runs, Dark sea, sea battles, and more.)

How to do a cargo run

Step 1. Head to a town with a shipwright. (Redwake/Ravenna for the riches)

Step 2. Fill your ship with cargo. (Get a big ship, It is suggested to be a villian since you can take cargo for free)

Step 3. Sail towards the desired location, the further you go the more money you get.

Step 4. Pray to god you don’t disconnect while sailing.

Step 5. Sell the sweet-sweet cargo.
