Heesen Yachts Maia

The Platform Concept program offers custom exterior design but standard engineering, and the third option is to buy a brand new custom superyacht as soon as it is made available for purchase. The Galactica Super Nova is their largest built at 230 feet, and their Maximus, with an open cockpit and a swimming pool with a waterfall is a special yacht someone will surely enjoy.

Oceanco Project-Bravo

A fairly young company, this Dutch company based in Alblasserdam has been around since 1987. They specialize in custom expedition yachts ranging from 262 to 459 feet. The builder launched Project Bravo in 2018, which is a fuel efficient and eco-friendly innovative design. Their green technologies are predominant in their newest addition to their fleet.

Oceanco Esquel Yacht Concept

Their most famous superyachts are the 311-foot Indian Empress and the 300-foot Equanimity. Their Black Pearl, a 350-foot technically advanced designed sailing superyacht stands on its own.

The 4 best cruises to take in India this year

By Ria Gupta

The 4 best cruises to take in India this year

From the early days of exploration to modern luxury liners, sailing has long been a way to see the world from a different perspective. While cruise culture in India is still young, several operators and companies across the country are carving out a niche for themselves by offering new ways to see the country and travel slow and easy. State-of-the-art vessels equipped with modern amenities offer the perfect vantage to enjoy India’s wealth of culture, history and wildlife. From the backwaters of Kerala to the Ganges and Brahmaputra with their bustling ports and historical cities, here is our pick of the four best cruises in India that you can take this year.

Secret of Sunderbans Jungle Cruise by Antara Cruises

The 4 best cruises to take in India this year

Wildlife enthusiasts look no further. The five-day Sunderbans Jungle cruise aboard the Ganges Voyager traces the culture and wildlife along the majestic Hooghly River. The vessel embarks from Kolkata and makes its way towards the fishing port of Namkhana, the gateway to the Sundarbans. The ship cruises past towns and villages till it enters the protected mangrove forests. Hereon, there are stops at various watchtowers and islands for sightings of endangered crocodiles, terrapins, migratory birds and if you are lucky, the elusive Royal Bengal Tiger . The Sundarbans with its unique and fragile biodiversity has a wealth of flora and fauna that will be pointed out by an expert naturalist on board. This apart, there is plenty to take in by way of culture and history—from centuries-old temples to glimpses of local life in the surrounding villages. The days are spent either meandering down the river or excursions onshore, evenings are usually reserved for unwinding over drinks and watching folk dances and musical performances from the region. The Ganges Voyager is an all-suite ship which can accommodate up to 56 guests and is done up in a heritage colonial style with Burma teak, vintage furniture and hand-stencilled walls. There are five categories of rooms across three decks, all of which offer expansive views from floor to ceiling windows or balconies. The ship has a restaurant offering an array of local delicacies as well as Continental fare, a lounge, sun deck and a fitness centre and spa for some quick rejuvenation after a day of sightseeing.

Fare:  From Rs1,20,000 per person including stay, all onboard activities, onground excursions as per the itinerary, all meals and complimentary yoga sessions.

Brahmaputra Maximum by Assam Bengal Navigation

The 4 best cruises to take in India this year

For those who want an immersive dive into the riverine culture of Assam, this 10-night cruise along the Brahmaputra packs it all in. This journey begins at Neamati Ghat which is 1.5 hours from Jorhat Airport. Adventures begin from day two as you sail down the mighty Brahmaputra and witness the river in its splendid flow. Enroute you will stop to see the temples of Sibsagar, the one-time capital of the Ahom kings of Assam; have lunch at an Assamese tea estate; and cruise to Majuli Island for a shore excursion. The cruise follows villages and historical sites along the Brahmaputra till it reaches the boundaries of the Kaziranga National Park. Elephants can be spotted on the banks as well as the park’s most famous denizen, the one-horned rhino, so keep a lookout. Guests will enjoy three jungle safaris across different parts of this expansive and stunning national park. The rest of the days are spent meandering through local markets on rickshaws in Tezpur, visiting temple ruins, river islands and stopping by to learn about Assamese silk weaving in Sualkuchi, the centre of the silk industry in the state. ABN operates its cruises from July to April. The Brahmaputra cruises begin in October. March and April is the best time to spot wildlife. The Brahmaputra Maximum journeys are undertaken in the ABN Sukapha and ABN Charaidew II. ABN Sukapha is a 12-cabin vessel designed especially for the waters of the Brahmaputra, while the ABN Charaidew II is a newer and sprawling 18-cabin addition to the fleet, which cruises faster than others thanks to an extra-shallow draught. The ABN Sukapha is designed as an expedition-style boat with cane and bamboo decor, a dining room, sundeck, a spa and a saloon with a library. The ABN Charaidew II is a colonial-style ship complete with wood and rattan accents, local Assamese art and handloom furnishings. There is a lounge, dining room, spa and expansive sundeck perfect for sunset views and cocktails. The food is locally sourced and buffet-style with an expansive roster of local dishes.

We’ll also discuss the benefits of owning a yacht, what to consider when choosing a yacht, docking fees, taxes, and maintenance costs, and yacht chartering options in India.

Ready to learn more? Let’s get started!.

Table of Contents

Short Answer

The cost of a yacht in India can vary significantly depending on the size and features of the yacht.

Generally, smaller yachts can range from around 2-3 crores (20 to 30 million rupees) while larger yachts can cost up to several hundred crores (1,000 million rupees).

Additionally, there are many other factors that can affect the price such as the brand, age, and condition of the yacht.

Factors That Affect the Cost of a Yacht in India

The cost of a yacht in India is affected by several factors, including the size and style of the vessel, its use, any additional features, and the level of customization.

Generally, luxury yachts in India start at around US$100,000 and can go up to US$10 million or more, depending on the size and features.

Size is one of the most important factors when it comes to the cost of a yacht.

The size of the vessel affects the cost of the yacht in terms of the materials and labor needed to build the vessel, as well as the fuel and maintenance costs necessary to maintain the yacht.

Furthermore, larger yachts tend to offer more features and amenities, which can add to the cost.

The style of a yacht can also affect the cost, as some styles are more expensive than others.

For example, a motor yacht will typically cost more than a sailing yacht.

Additionally, the type of propulsion system installed in the vessel can affect the cost, with some systems being more expensive than others.

The use of the yacht is another factor that affects the cost.

Yachts can be used for a variety of purposes, such as fishing, cruising, or racing.

Different types of yachts are suited for different types of uses, and each type of use can result in different costs.

Additional features and amenities can also affect the cost of a yacht in India.

For example, if the yacht includes a hot tub, spa, or other special features, the cost will be higher.

In addition, the level of customization can also affect the cost, as custom features will add to the overall cost of the vessel.

Finally, it is important to consider that the cost of a yacht does not include additional costs such as docking fees, taxes, and maintenance.

These costs can add up quickly and should be taken into consideration when budgeting for a yacht.

Ultimately, the cost of a yacht in India can vary significantly depending on the size, style, use, features, and customization.

For those looking for a luxurious experience, a yacht in India can provide a unique and memorable experience, but the cost can be significant.

It is important to consider all of the factors that can affect the cost of a yacht before making a purchase.

Yacht Prices Based on Size and Style

best yacht brand in india

When it comes to the cost of a yacht in India, size and style are two of the most important factors.

Luxury yachts can range in size from small sailing vessels to giant superyachts, and the price per foot increases as the size increases.

Generally, a smaller yacht will cost anywhere from US$100,000 to US$500,000, while larger yachts can cost up to US$10 million or more.

In terms of style, there are several different types of yachts available in India.

Sailboats are popular for their classic appeal and simple design, but they can also be expensive to purchase and maintain.

Powerboats offer more speed and comfort, and can come in a variety of sizes.

Catamarans are also a popular option, offering more stability and room than a traditional boat.

Lastly, luxury yachts are the most expensive option and come with the most features and customization options.

When considering the cost of a yacht in India, it is important to keep in mind that the price does not include additional costs such as docking fees, taxes, and maintenance.

The cost of these additional expenses should be factored in when calculating the total cost of ownership.

Additionally, it is important to remember that the cost of a yacht is not just the purchase price; the cost of ownership includes the cost of fuel, maintenance, and any other expenses associated with the yacht.

Additional Features That Affect the Cost

When it comes to the cost of a yacht in India, there are a few additional features that can affect the overall price.

First, the size of the yacht plays a large role larger yachts typically cost more than smaller ones.

Additionally, the type of yacht such as sailboat or motorboat can also affect the price.

Furthermore, the extras and features that come with the yacht such as air conditioning , private cabins, and a kitchen will add to the cost.

Additionally, the level of customization can also play a role in the overall price.

For instance, installing custom-built furniture, fixtures, or audio-visual systems may increase the cost.

Furthermore, the type of materials used in the yacht, such as wood or metal, can also affect the overall cost.

Finally, the quality of the materials used, such as high-end stainless steel or luxurious leather, will also add to the overall cost.

Top 10 luxury yacht builders 2023

Hannah Rankine

The design and build of a luxury yacht is a truly personal experience. Whether customising a design to be built, or striving to create a completely new concept altogether, superyacht owners will seek to work with a yacht builder that truly understands their vision, and can translate their dream design into a real vessel.

As Royal Huisman proudly state, “If you can dream it, we can build it!”

Those buying a new superyacht will therefore have many questions to ask themselves before settling on a suitable yacht builder and shipyard facility to carry out the project. Thankfully for these prospective owners, there are a number of luxury superyacht brands that have the ability to turn the biggest mega yacht dreams into reality.

Yachting Pages lists the world’s top luxury superyacht builders and their shipyard facilities , from A to Z, identifying some of the best superyachts in the world along the way.

Best luxury superyacht builders

1.  amels, netherlands.

Located in Vlissingen, Amels operates the largest superyacht boatyard in the Netherlands, and is known to be one of the best superyacht builders in the world.

Amels has been operating for over 100 years and offers both Full Custom and Limited Editions, ranging from 55 to 83 metres (180 to 272 feet) LOA. Built on a proven platform and delivered in half the time expected of standard construction superyachts, all 20+ Limited Editions projects have so far been delivered on or ahead of contract, with 55-metre (180-foot) Galene among the most recent to emerge from the yard. With several new projects currently under construction, Amels is likely to be among the top superyacht shipyards for many years to come.

This gave Benetti 2 nd , 3 rd and 4 th spots on the Top 10 Largest Superyachts Delivered in 2019 . Luminosity is widely believed to be valued in excess of €200,000,000 and is listed with Fraser and Burgess (as of November 2020).

3. Feadship, Netherlands

The home of full-custom superyachts, Feadship is one of the few shipyards worldwide that works to create completely custom yachts. It has worked with superyacht owners since the 19 th century to create one-off luxury motor yachts that are truly unique.

Feadship currently has four shipyard facilities in the Netherlands, with expansion underway at its Amsterdam facility in Western Harbour to offer the ability to build motor yachts as long as 160 metres (525 feet). To date, there are over 250 Feadship yachts in navigation, including 99-metre (324-foot) Madame Gu, 99.95 (327-foot) Moonrise, 101-metre (333-foot) Symphony and 110-metre (361-foot) Anna.

5. Heesen Yachts, Netherlands

Heesen Yachts is known as one of the world’s luxury yacht builders, specialising in custom superyachts in the 30- to 65-metre (98- to 213-foot) range, but with the additional capability of building vessels of 80 metres (262 feet) and above.

With a focus on quality and innovation, Heesen has created many custom yachts with no two yachts the same. Founded in 1978, it was the first Dutch shipyard to employ aluminium for yacht hulls. In its 42 years, it has delivered more than 170 yachts, with aluminium, steel, displacement, semi-displacement and revolutionary fast displacement yachts making up its fleet. Its most famous vessels include the 65-metre (213-foot) Galatica Star, 70-metre (230-foot) Galatica Super Nova and 55-metre (180-foot) Serenity.

6. Lürssen, Germany

Based in Germany, Lürssen is one of the world's leading shipyards for large luxury yacht building, with a focus on excellence in custom-built superyachts. A family-owned shipyard for four generations, it can claim the accolade of building the world’s first motor yacht back in 1886.

Responsible for building more than 13,000 vessels since 1875, Lürssen currently has eight shipyard facilities in Northern Germany, each specialising in a specific size of yacht ranging from 60 to 220 metres (197 to 722 feet) in length. Together these facilities offer 1,125,000 metres squared of space for new builds, as well as refit, repair and maintenance services.

Lürssen builds some of the largest luxury yachts in the world, including the iconic Azzam, the world’s current largest superyacht at 180 metres (590 feet) LOA.

Lurssen's superyacht Azzam

7. Nobiskrug, Germany

Having just celebrated its 115 th anniversary, Nobiskrug began shipbuilding long before the term ‘superyacht’ was even coined. Drawing on its extensive experience in seagoing vessels, the shipyard turned to yacht building in 2000 with the completion of its inaugural superyacht project, the 92-metre (302-foot) Tatoosh. It has since delivered an impressive portfolio of innovative custom-built superyachts, pledging to work on a single project for a single client to build superyachts ready for the 22 nd century. A big statement of intent.

With two facilities in Northern Germany, the boatyard can currently build vessels ranging from 60 to 426 metres (197 to 1398 feet) in length. Over 1000 in-house employees work across the two sites, where they have developed and built numerous award-winning superyachts, including one of the industry’s most talked about vessels, 142-metre (466-foot) Sailing Yacht A.

2020 saw the launch of 80-metre (262-foot) Artefact. At 2,999 GT, Artefact is now the largest 80-metre superyacht by volume in the world and is one of the world’s first superyachts to meet IMO Tier III emissions regulations.

8. Oceanco, Netherlands

Oceanco specialises in building sophisticated custom yachts ranging from 80 to 140 metres (262 to 459 feet) in length. Offering a highly personal service to clients, Oceanco is positioned with state-of-the-art yacht building facilities in the Netherlands, and a design, sales and marketing office in Monaco.

The builder celebrated its first launch in 1992, and almost 30 years later its portfolio now includes well-known superyachts such as the 95-metre (311-foot) Indian Empress, 82-metre (269-foot) Alfa Nero, 88.5-metre (290-foot) Nirvana and 91.5-metre (300-foot) Equanimity.

9. Perini Navi, Italy

The Perini Navi Group is made up of four independent companies that operate in five specific markets: sailing yachts up to 60 metres (197 feet), large sailing yachts more than 60 metres, racing sailing yachts, fast cruising sailing yachts and Picchiotti motor yachts.

To date, the group has launched 58 sailing yachts and four motor yachts. Its track record for innovative sailing yachts has seen it set the standard for excellence in the sector, launching more yachts over 50 metres (164 feet) than any other builder. It's responsible for the iconic 88-metre (288-foot) three-masted schooner Maltese Falcon, which currently holds the title of the sixth largest sailing yacht in the world, and other award-winning sailing yachts, such as the 73-metre (239-foot) Nautilus, 70-metre (229-foot) Badis I and 64-metre (210-foot) Spirit Of The C’s.

Perini Navini's superyacht Maltese Falcon

30 minutes are kept aside for travelling from the shore to the yacht and then after sailing, from the yacht back to the shore.

No. The minimum booking duration for sailing in Mumbai is 2 hours. The actual sailing time is approx. 1 hour 30 minutes.

This is the recommended time duration for a good sailing experience overall. Less than 1 hour 30 minutes feels incomplete and more than this feels a bit tiring.

On small sailboats and yachts, we usually do not recommend you to book for 3 or 4 hours as it may make you feel a little dizzy. 1 hour and 30 minutes of sailing time is just ideal for a good sailing experience. However, you can book for longer duration at an additional cost.

Yes. There will be a trained and experienced sailor on the yacht to sail the yacht for you.

You will sail approximately 1.2 km to 2.5 km out into the open sea. You will not be seen from the shore from Gateway of India.

Knowing how to swim is not mandatory for sailing cruises in Mumbai. You will be given a lifejacket to wear.

You will get a beautiful view of the Gateway of India and Taj hotel as you begin. You will pass by the boats and yachts parked in the Mumbai harbour as you sail out into the open sea. The view of the shore from the sea is truly magnificent. You will get a view of the lighthouses (Sunk Rock light house, Dolphin light house, Prongs light house), structures built in the middle of the sea (Oyster Rock and Middle Ground) and if you are lucky, you may also spot dolphins!

  • 1 hour 30 minutes private sailing with a qualified sailor
  • Motorboat ride from the shore to the yacht
  • Motorboat ride from the yacht to the shore
  • Mineral water
  • Life jackets to use on the boat
  • The prices mentioned above are on a per yacht basis. It is NOT the per person price.
  • For the mentioned price, the entire yacht is booked exclusively for your group.
  • It is a private booking. You will not be sharing the yacht with other groups / people.

For birthdays / anniversaries, we can decorate the yacht with balloons, get a cake and flower bouquet. Prices for the same are given below.

Balloon decoration:  Rs. 300 Cake (half kg eggless chocolate cake):  Rs. 700 Flower bouquet (approx. 10 roses):  Rs. 300 Flower bouquet (approx. 20 roses):  Rs. 500

You have to reach the sailing venue (Jetty No. 5) just 15 minutes prior to your booking start time.

For example, if you book the 4:00 pm to 06:00 pm slot, your reporting time will be 03:45 pm

You will get to go sailing even if you reach late by some time. However, please note that the sailing time is not extended beyond your booking end time.

We do not provide assistance with parking vehicles at the sailing venue.

There is a pay and park service in the lanes around Taj Hotel. You will have to find parking on your own and then walk to the sailing venue (Jetty No. 5).

Once your plan is finalised (decided which yacht you wish to book, date and time slot), you will have to make payment to confirm the booking.

Payment can be done via bank transfer (NEFT / IMPS), UPI, Google Pay, credit card, debit card and net banking. We will share our company bank details / online payment link with you via email or WhatsApp.

Once the payment reflects in our account, the booking confirmation and related details will be sent to you via email and WhatsApp.

Top 6 Real Estate Investment Options in India – 2024

Investment gurus have long touted real estate as a cornerstone of wealth accumulation, yet the landscape of opportunities continues to evolve. To unearth the most promising investment avenues, Hotel Reality Space embarked on a comprehensive research endeavour, employing meticulous analysis to identify the top contenders. Through a rigorous examination of critical parameters, including the cost of acquisition, monthly rentals, maintenance costs, and return on investment (ROI) alongside ease of reselling, the stage was set to unveil the six most compelling real estate investment options.

Ranking Methodology

The ranking methodology adopted by Hotel Reality Space rested on four pivotal pillars:

Cost of Acquisition: Recognizing accessibility as a fundamental determinant of investment viability, emphasis was placed on options that offer low entry barriers, ensuring inclusivity and democratisation.

Monthly Rentals: In an era characterised by the pursuit of passive income streams, the potential for lucrative monthly returns emerged as a critical criterion, underpinning the attractiveness of each investment option.

Maintenance Cost: Acknowledging the detrimental impact of escalating maintenance expenses on overall returns, priority was accorded to options boasting minimal upkeep requirements.

Return on Investment and Easiness of Reselling: Anticipating the need for liquidity and capital appreciation, the analysis delved into each option's ROI trajectory and resale feasibility, offering insights into long-term profitability.

Based on our research and findings, it’s time to declare the Top 6 Real Estate Options in India in 2024.

  • HotelYaari Sub-Condos - Hotel & Resort Properties: Topping the charts, HotelYaari Sub-Condos emerged as the undisputed leader, offering investors an unparalleled opportunity to own a fractional share of esteemed 5-star hotels and resorts. With a modest entry point of just 10 Lacs, coupled with the potential for robust monthly rentals and minimal maintenance costs, HotelYaari Sub-Condos epitomises accessibility and profitability. The inherent demand for hospitality properties and the ease of reselling positions this option as a beacon of opportunity in real estate investment. Corbett Bali Eco Resort & Spa Villas are on the hot-selling Sun-Condos in HotelYaari.
  • Residential Real Estate - Flats and Apartments: Despite its enduring appeal, traditional residential real estate investments secured the second spot, buoyed by steady rental income streams and widespread market availability. However, concerns regarding high acquisition costs and maintenance overheads tempered its ranking, highlighting the need for investors to weigh the pros and cons carefully.
  • Commercial Real Estate - Society Shops and Commercial Shops: Commanding the attention of investors seeking diversification, commercial real estate offerings such as society shops and commercial spaces claimed the third position. While promising rental yields, the segment's susceptibility to economic fluctuations and stringent maintenance requirements tempered its allure, underscoring the importance of a balanced investment approach.
  • REITs/ETFs: Offering a gateway to real estate exposure without the burdens of direct ownership, Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) and Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs) secured the fourth spot. Despite their inherent liquidity and diversification benefits, the reliance on market performance and management fees posed notable considerations for prospective investors.
  • Residential / Commercial Plots: Positioned midway in the ranking, investments in residential and commercial plots garnered attention for their potential for capital appreciation. However, the lack of immediate rental income and the need for active management weighed their overall appeal, underscoring the importance of a long-term investment horizon.
  • House Flipping: Rounding off the list, house flipping emerged as a speculative venture with the potential for lucrative returns. However, the inherent risks associated with market volatility and renovation costs tempered its ranking, necessitating a cautious and strategic approach for success.

The quest for lucrative real estate opportunities remains unabated as the investment landscape evolves. Through a judicious blend of analysis and foresight, Hotel Reality Space has unveiled a spectrum of options, each offering unique pathways to wealth accumulation and financial security. Whether navigating the realm of hospitality properties or exploring the dynamics of residential and commercial markets, investors stand poised to capitalise on the boundless potential of real estate investment.
