Elisabetta’s Restaurante

Cozy, rustic, and unapologetically delightful, Elisabetta’s is one of the best places in town for al fresco dining with waterfront views and an incredible wine list. When it comes to allure, the secret’s in the sauce, (obviously) but also in the bread, pasta, sausage, and gelato, which are all handmade from scratch. The menu here is versatile and can fit any group or occasion, whether you’re popping in for cocktails and small bites, on the hunt for brunch, or ready to settle in for a fabulous family dinner.

Lynora’s Restaurant

This charming Italian eatery traces its origins back to 1974, when the owners emigrated from Italy to South Florida and got their start selling pizza by the slice. Today Lynora’s is a beloved fixture of the community and is open for lunch, dinner and brunch. The pizza is still to die for and there are gluten-free and vegan options available. Lynora’s pasta is made in house and the brunch cocktails – sangria, bellinis, and mimosas–arrive in a pitcher, as they should.

Rybovich

Many yachts call Rybovich in West Palm Beach (Also known as WPB for short) one of their home ports. It’s a handy base for those yacht owners who want to keep their boat based in the US or who charter heavily from the US. It’s also a huge favourite for yacht crew due to the extensive facilities onside at Rybovich Marina. More on that later.

Here’s an easy guide for Yacht Chefs arriving at Rybovich West Palm Beach for the first time.

rybovich mega yacht marina

Where to provision in Rybovich

Of course, the big-name provisioners deliver within Rybovich. Using provisioners is always going to make your life a lot easier, especially if you are wintering in Rybo and are down to a skeleton galley crew.

Generally, the security staff know who the provisioners are and you don’t have to let them know when you have a delivery coming, but, to be on the safe side, Give them a quick buzz. Especially if your provisioner of choice is a smaller company and may be unknown to the yard staff.

Another great help with the Rybovich Marina is that the staff of Rybo are always willing to lend a hand if they are available. This is great if you are doing smaller orders and you can get their attention for a cheeky golf cart ride to make life easier.

Rybovich West Palm Beach

Costco West Palm Beach

Costco West Palm beach is about a 20-minute drive away. When you first head out there, make sure you take your passport and boat papers. You will need this to set up your Costco membership.

Costco is somewhat like Metro in Europe. You will be able to get a lot of the basics in bulk. But they lack the guest quality side of things.

Unlike Europe, do not rely on Costco for produce. It tends to be very basic, but it’s ok for things like crew apples, tomatoes and bulk lettuce. You will not find high-end catering items like micro herbs and baby veg at Costco.

Meat products tend to be decent actually. You can buy vac-sealed striploin and tenderloin at decent prices while still being high quality. They are in the perfect proportions for crew meats assuming you are on a bigger vessel.

Dairy, cheeses and frozen produce are also really good here, as are the staples like rice and bread. The overall selection of goods isn’t so diverse for dry goods, but if you just need basics or you are not concerned about what brand of passata you buy, it’s worth stocking up.

Wholefoods West Palm

Wholefoods in West Palm is close to Rybo. Just head out to the Outlet Mall and its part of that. If you are short on a crew car and just need to grab a few things, the Rybo Bus will happily take you and pick you back up.

Wholefoods West Palm Beach has all the nice high-end products, perfect for guest food. You can also find a great selection of gluten-free and vegan products. They stock plenty of vegan cheese and nut milk, along with the impossible meat range.

Their produce is great quality and they have plenty of variety. Fruit platters are made easy with their exotic fruit range. They have an extensive organic section for produce too if you need it.

Whole foods also have a decent selection of imported cheeses and cold cuts.

Publix West Palm Beach

Publix is your generic sell-everything type of supermarket in Florida. Think of it like a Carrefour. It’s only 15 minutes drive from Rybovich, over on “the Island”.

Pick up the bulk of your dry goods, crew food, and produce here. You can buy generic and brand-name food items at Publix. They even have a small section with English food for the Brits on board!

There is plenty of parking and often the staff will help you with bags if you have a lot.

This Publix is easier to shop at for yacht provisions because of the parking, the other Publix in West Palm Beach is in the Cityalk mall, which can get busy.

Asian Supermarkets

West Palm Beach is lucky that its Asian supermarkets are in a little cluster. It’s a short 20-minute drive to them, and you should be able to bounce around between the 3 of them to find everything you need easily enough.

Food Town West Palm Beach

Food Town is a one-stop supermarket for pretty much all “ethnic” ingredients. It started as a Jamaican Supermarket and has since expanded to have a wide variety of foods from the Middle East, India, The Caribbean and Asia. If you have been to Carrefour St Martin recently, imagine that, but about 6 times bigger. It’s pretty amazing for out-of-the-ordinary ingredients.

Expect to find regular milk amongst the Paneer, Kefir and Goats milk. There must be about 200 different kinds of hot sauces from all over the world dotted down every aisle. They have a wide variety of fresh noodles, produce you may not even recognise, and cuts of meat your usual charter guest may not ask for yes, you need to order in advance for goat and some types of offal. Ask at the front desk.

Vinh Hung Oriental Market

They have a reasonable stock of dry goods such as sauces and noodles. The owners are Vietnamese so they tend to have more Viet and Chinese products. Their Japanese selection is very small. Grab a Ban Mi on your way out if you are hungry, it’s delicious!

Rybovich West Palm Beach

Let us know your favourite spots for provisioning in Rybovich West Palm Beach and we can add them to the list.

rybovich mega yacht marina

Local Bars and restaurants

West Palm Beach is a hot spot for casual dining options and semi-hipster bars. Almost everything is based on Clematis Street, which is a fun easy street to walk down. I’m sure if you use your spidey senses, you will be able to sniff out plenty of great watering holes on your won. But if you need a quick guide, check out the below spots.

E.R Bradleys Saloon

Open-air, an open-late tavern where ladies are known to dance on the bar, serving bar eats & breakfast. If the weather is good, this is a great spot to start or end your night. There’s plenty of outdoor seating and the vibe is casual, relaxed and very laid back. The food is generally American pub food, great to wash a few beers down with, but don’t expect fine dining in quality or presentation.

Address: 104 S Clematis St, West Palm Beach, FL 33401

Avocado Grill

A huge favourite amongst yacht crew at Rybovich, you will no doubt bump into plenty of crew you already know from the Rybo bar. You have been warned.

Expect the usual West Palm crowd, summery dresses and tidy tee’s or shirts for the guys, nothing extravagant, but it is dressier than Bradleys. They do an epic Brunch menu, and its the perfect spot for crew days off if you are lucky enough to swing a weekend off. The food menu should please even the fussiest crew member (yes, I’m looking at you, Gluten-free, Vegan, well, sometimes with a dairy intolerance when it suits type of crew) and the cocktails are easy to drink… Take plenty of money as you will end up spending longer here than you intended, and no doubt spend more too 😉

Address : 125 Datura Street, West Palm Beach, FL

Rybovich West Palm Beach

Getting around West Palm Beach

The drivers of the Rybovich Shuttle will drop you off and pick you up from designated points around West Palm Beach. Ask each driver, and make sure you grab their phone numbers. These are subject to change, so we haven’t listed them here.

If you choose uber or rideshare, expect to pay around $8, and it takes 8-12 minutes depending on traffic. Walking takes a bit of time, and there’s a bit of a dodgy area that you must walk through, so it is not advised to do so after dark.

If you are taking the crew car in, there is plenty of paid parking in secure carparking on Clematis Street. You will need a crew car to get to various supermarkets and other places, so hopefully your boat has organised one in advance.

The Brightline train service runs between West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale and Miami. It’s highly recommended over the somewhat dodgy local train. Pay a bit more and travel in style anyways, it’s safer, and cleaner, and they have wine and beer! 🙂 Word on the street is that they often give discounted rides for crew staying at Rybovich, so make sure to ask about it when you dock.

Rybovich West Palm Beach

Crew Days off in West Palm Beach

Finally, a day off after drop off day, relax. Or not… perhaps you want to explore a little further out from Rybo and see what else is about.

If you have access to a car and a whole weekend off, consider heading North… or South

  • Lake Okeechobee and its surroundings are great for nature lovers to get away, and it’s only a couple of hours’ drive. Book a place on Airbnb and make the most of the peace and quiet.
  • Head further up the coast to Disneyworld… it might be a bit cheesy, but it can be good to YOLO and just enjoy that childlike wonder too!
  • Cape Canaveral is also up that way, so check out their website to see if there are any rocket launches to watch. Nerd out and invite an engineer, they are always up for this sort of weekend!
  • Heading South, of course, you have Miami… Check into South beach and drink cocktails and hit the nightlife in Wynwood. release that inner hipster and eat every taco in sight!
  • Feeling like a longer drive? Easy- Florida Keys are a few hours further… Stop in Islamorada to stretch your legs and enjoy how different it is down there. West Palm will feel like a dream in no time.

If you only have a half-day off or a single day, don’t despair. The area around Rybo has a lot going on.

  • Hit up the Palm Beach outlets for a bit of shopping to refresh that wardrobe. The Rybovich shuttle can take you and pick you up if you need it.
  • The West Palm Beach Green Market is a fabulous market that pops up on Saturdays. Don’t expect to pick up mass quantities of produce for guests or crew, but there is a great selection of the usual farmers’ market items. Grab a coffee and wander the stalls.
  • There are escape rooms in West Palm Beach if you are looking for a crew team-building activity… I know, being stuck in a room with the crew may not be what you are looking for in your downtime, but, horses for courses.
  • Just kick back and enjoy the serenity by heading to the beach. It’s obvious, sure, but sometimes we forget the little things.

rybovich mega yacht marina

Dock walking in Rybovich

Dock walking isn’t allowed in Rybovich Marina. But there are of course people who slip through the cracks and manage to do it… but be warned, it is not recommended. There is a lot of staff working at Rybo, and they are vigilant.

The biggest threat of it all is losing your visa. You CANNOT dock walk on a B1/B2 visa, so if you are considering duckwalking in Rybo while holding this visa, understand that if you are caught by the wrong people, you will not just be thrown out of the marina. You will be in trouble with US immigration and consequently lose your visa and be banned from the US for some time. It is not worth it.

Rybovich West Palm Beach

Rybovich Marina

The crew facilities at Rybo far exceed most marinas you will have spent time in… it is constantly voted the number one marina in the US for yacht crew, and I dare say it may be one of the best in the world in terms of facilities.

Rybo boasts a crew area with a couple of BBQs, perfect for yacht chefs who need some fresh air. Give the tongs to some of the safer crew and sit back with a few cold ones, they are usually only too happy to take over cooking duties for the evening!

There is a decent size swimming pool along with plenty of sun loungers for the sun-seekers on board, and a cozy fire pit in the evenings for those late-night drinking sessions. The crew area at Rybo also has dart boards, a corn hole game, a pool table, table tennis, game consoles, oh yeah, and free WIFI.

Gym bunnies will be happy to know there is a very well equipped gym inside with blasting cold aircon. Lift those weights and make those gains while you have the time ashore!

The Rybo bar is perhaps most crew members’ favourite part of the marina. Sure, they do happy hour beers for a few bucks apiece, and $5 mimosas on Sundays, but they also offer a cracking food menu. There is a fresh sushi bar to the side, and also a regular “pub” type menu with burgers, salads, fish and fries.

Starwood REIT quickly burning liquidity

Huizenga family borrows $65M against its Rybovich superyacht marina in West Palm

The Rybovich marina and H. Wayne Huizenga Jr., CEO of Rybovich

The Huizenga family just took out $65 million in refinancing for its sprawling Rybovich mega-yacht marina in West Palm Beach, replacing a loan of the same size with long-term debt.

Florida Community Bank was the lender. The funds cover Huizenga’s 32-acre marina and yacht repair facility at 4200 Flagler Drive, which the wealthy family acquired in 2004 and has since sought to expand with a neighboring mixed-use development.

Commercial brokerage HFF, which arranged the loan for Huizenga, said in a release Monday that the funds were given under a fixed-rate, 15-year mortgage that was based off the marina’s cash flow.

The new funds replace an existing $65 million loan from Wells Fargo that had a floating rate and less flexibility, according to HFF Director Scott Wadler. He told The Real Deal via email that many borrowers are locking in their loans now ahead of rising rates, especially for investors who hold their properties over generations like the Huizenga family.

While a host of traditional lenders have taken a more conservative stance on real estate in recent months, Florida Community Bank just financed the $89 million purchase of a two-tower rental community in Miami’s Little Havana by Greystar. The bank had also funded the project’s construction .

The Huizenga family, which owns the marina through its Huizenga Holdings investment arm, is now looking at an 1,800-square-foot expansion of the facility’s north dock, Wadler said. That would give Rybovich room for another six vessels measuring up to 350 feet long.

Approvals from the city, Florida Department of Environmental Protection and Army Corp. of Engineers are already in place, though the expansion’s start date is yet to be announced. The project won’t be funded with the $65 million, Wadler said, though the plans helped Huizenga score its loan from Florida Community Bank.

Huizenga has also partnered with the Related Group to build a massive 19-acre project next to the facility called Marina Village that would house six residential towers when completed. Related’s Steve Patterson said in July that groundbreaking is set for the end of this year.

Workers walk past super yachts at the MB92 yard in Barcelona.

Could sanctions leave oligarchs’ super yachts high and dry in Spain?

Russia’s wealthiest men own vessels worth millions. Now penalties might make it illegal to supply or service them

  • Russia-Ukraine war latest news: follow live updates

Among the many gleaming white boats lining Barcelona’s historic port, the super yachts of the super-rich stand out.

If there are fewer of them than usual at the moment it’s because most are still wintering in the Caribbean. However, overshadowing the small fry (super yachts are roughly defined as starting from 25 metres in length) are a number of palatial vessels, including yachts owned by the King of Bahrain, Walmart heiress Nancy Walton Laurie, and media mogul Barry Diller.

Among them are three vessels belonging to some of Russia’s wealthiest men. They have a combined value of hundreds of millions of dollars. Their owners could be forgiven for feeling a little nervous as western governments ponder who to target next in a threatened barrage of sanctions against Russia in retaliation for its invasion of Ukraine.

All three yachts are in for refitting in the MB92 shipyard, which specialises in servicing super yachts. The largest is the 139-metre, Bermudian-flagged Solaris, which belongs to Roman Abramovich , the man who owns 29% of mining company Evraz, as well as Chelsea football club.

Next up is the 74-metre Aurora, owned by Andrey Molchanov, who has a controlling stake in LSR Group, Russia’s biggest producer of building materials, and a current net worth of €1bn, according to Forbes magazine.

Finally, there is the 70-metre Galactica Super Nova, whose owner is Vagit Alekperov, president and chief executive of Lukoil, in which he has around a 20% stake. He also owns 36.8% of the football club Spartak Moscow.

President Vladimir Putin shakes hands with Vagit Alekperov, the president of Lukoil, in Moscow.

Lukoil is considered to be a potential target for European sanctions, given the energy giant’s importance to the Russian economy, and the fact that it is already subject to some US sanctions. It is a company of strategic importance to Russia, and Alekperov was among a gathering of business leaders summoned by Putin to a meeting in the Kremlin on Thursday.

Since 2017, Alekperov has also been part-owner of Marina Port Vell, Barcelona’s pleasure port. The old port, which dates back to Roman times, was renovated for the 1992 Olympic Games, and in 2010 it was ceded by the conservative city government to the London-based Salamanca Group for development as a marina for super yachts.

In 2017, ownership passed to the Qatari Investment bank, QInvest, and a fund with several international investors, among whom Alekperov is a stakeholder, in a concession that expires in 2048. The port is investing €20m (£16m) in a bid to become the biggest super yacht marina in the Mediterranean.

Abramovich is one of 35 individuals who should be considered for sanctions, according to a list drawn up by the organisation of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny.

The names of the 35, who range from businessmen to media owners, government officials and politicians, was read out in parliament this week last week by Liberal Democrat foreign affairs spokesperson Layla Moran. She said: “We need to start by heeding the names of those who were identified by Alexei Navalny and his team as ‘key enablers’ more than a year ago.”

Solaris, one of four yachts owned by Roman Abramovich.

Abramovich holds Israeli and Portuguese citizenship and his lawyers insist that “he is not subject to sanctions, and this has been confirmed publicly by the prime minister”. They have said neither he nor Evraz “fit the description of those likely to be subject to sanctions, as set out by the foreign secretary”. Alekperov and Molchanov did not respond to requests for comment.

The three businessmen have not been named on any sanctions list. However, both US president Joe Biden and Boris Johnson have threatened wider action against the owners of companies across sectors including energy, mining and construction, which puts individuals such as Alekperov within the scope of those who could be affected.

“The UK’s new designation criteria permit a broad range of businesses to be designated as financial sanctions targets,” says sanctions expert Stacy Keen at law firm Pinsent Masons. “In relation to Russia’s strategically important businesses, the regulations specify that this applies to those operating in the chemicals, construction, defence, electronics, energy, extractives, financial services, transport and information, communications and digital technologies sectors.”

So, were such sanctions applied, what would it mean for the oligarchs’ yachts in Barcelona and elsewhere?

“The way sanctions work is that they don’t seize assets, but freeze them, and the individuals can’t use them to generate funds,” says Keen.

“If the EU were to make a designation equivalent to that made by the UK, no Spanish or other EU business would be allowed to supply services, from fuel to crew, for the use of the yacht. In effect, the yacht wouldn’t be able to function.”

How this will play out depends on the alignment of sanctions between the main players – the US, the UK and the EU. All three have promised coordinated action, and while there are some differences in measures taken in recent days, there are areas of overlap.

However, this is unlikely to have any knock-on effect on the thriving wider super yacht market, where order books are full for at least five years. According to MB92, 185 super yachts were built in 2021, compared with 148 in 2019. Covid led to a boom in the deluxe vessels, which provide an ideal form of social distancing for the 1%. Record numbers of the vessels were moored off the coasts of Italy and Greece in 2021.

The long waiting lists have also boosted the secondhand super yacht market as well, with some vessels selling for more than their original cost.

The business is getting bigger and so are the boats, as billionaires vie to outdo each other with their floating palaces. Solaris, which cost $600m, was built last year, and can reportedly accommodate 36 guests in its 18 luxurious cabins as well as 60 crew members. There is a gym, swimming pool, sauna, beauty salon and a jacuzzi. It is said to come with state-of-the-art security including a radar-controlled missile detection system, bulletproof windows and armoured protection. The yacht was spotted sailing up the Catalan coast on Wednesday, possibly on sea trials after its refit in Barcelona, before returning to its moorings.

The super yacht Galactica Super Nova, owned by Vagit Alekperov.

These yachts are not only hugely expensive to build, they cost a fortune to maintain and crew. On average, owners must spend 10% of the purchase price annually to keep one afloat, which means Solaris has running costs of around $60m a year.

Solaris is just one of Abramovich’s four yachts. The 170-metre Eclipse, currently moored in the Caribbean, is the second largest in the world, after the 180-metre Azzam owned by Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, president of the UAE. The Eclipse was in the Barcelona shipyard for a refit at the end of last year.

Txema Rubio, MB92’s commercial director, says the yard can work on up to 25 yachts at a time. The average refit costs around €900,000, although in some cases this may rise to as much as €20m.

Despite their vast size, some super yachts travel with a “shadow boat” that carries accessories – such as speedboats, jet skis, cars, helicopters and even submarines – which the owners don’t want cluttering up their showcase yacht.Refits take a minimum of three months, sometimes much longer, during which time the yard may need to accommodate hundreds of crew members.

Part of the popularity of Barcelona as a marina and a super yacht shipyard is that crew get to spend months in one of the world’s most attractive cities while the vessels are moored or in dry dock. If sanctions are imposed, the oligarchs’ crews may find they have a lot more time on their hands.

Several luxury yachts owned by wealthy Russians have been detained across Europe this month.

It comes after the West imposed sanctions on oligarchs over Moscow's invasion of Ukraine .

Some have taken evasive action – two such superyachts linked to billionaire Roman Abramovich were spotted approaching the Turkish coast on Tuesday. A group of Ukrainians tried to stop one of the yachts from docking in Turkey.

Chelsea FC owner Mr Abramovich is one of several oligarchs who were added to an EU blacklist last week as governments acted to seize yachts and other luxury assets owned by the billionaires.

Western sanctions resulted in many large vessels relocating from Europe in the past few weeks. Several have headed to places such as the Maldives, which have no extradition treaty with the US.

Where is the Abramovich-owned yacht heading?

Mr Abramovich's yacht Eclipse was seen heading towards Marmaris on Tuesday, according to data compiled by monitoring site Marine Traffic, which was seen by Reuters.

The previous day, his superyacht Solaris was moored in Bodrum, about 80 kilometres from Marmaris, data showed, after skirting waters of EU countries.

There was no suggestion Mr Abramovich was on board either of the yachts.

Which yachts have been detained?

On Monday, a superyacht linked to another Russian billionaire was detained by authorities after docking in Gibraltar.

The Axioma , believed to belong to Dmitrievich Pumpyansky, moored at Gibraltar on the southern tip of the Iberian Peninsula, Reuters TV footage showed.

Mr Pumpyansky, who is under UK and EU sanctions, owns Russia's largest steel pipe maker TMK. Data shows the 72-metre vessel is owned by a British Virgin Islands holding company called Pyrene investments, Reuters reported. An article published as part of the Panama Papers leaks names Mr Pumpyansky as a beneficiary of the holding.

On March 12, the world's biggest sailing yacht, called Sailing Yacht A and owned by Russian billionaire Andrey Igorevich Melnichenko , was seized by Italian police.

Several other luxury yachts have also been detained across Europe, including in Gibraltar, Mallorca in Spain's Balearic Islands and the French coast.

Here are 16 superyachts linked to wealthy Russians

1. Eclipse , a superyacht linked to sanctioned Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich , was this week spotted heading in the direction of Marmaris in Turkey.

2. Solaris , belonging to Mr Abramovich , moored in Bodrum at the start of the week.

3. The Axioma superyacht, belonging to Russian oligarch Dmitrievich Pumpyansky , who is on the EU's list of sanctioned Russians, was detained by authorities after docking in Gibraltar on Monday.

4. The Crescent , which was seized by the Spanish government in Tarragona, Spain, on March 17. The ship's owner is not publicly known, although it is believed to belong to Russian Igor Sechin, head of Rosneft Oil in Moscow.

5. Ragnar , owned by former KGB officer and Russian oligarch Vladimir Strzhalkovsky, who is not on the EU sanctions list.

6. Tango , owned by Russian billionaire Viktor Vekselberg, who was sanctioned by the US on March 11.

7. Lady Anastasia , owned by Russian arms manufacturer Alexander Mijeev, is retained at Port Adriano, Mallorca, as a result of sanctions against Russia and Belarus issued by the European Union.

8. Valerie was seized by the Spanish government in Barcelona, Spain, on March 15. Spanish newspaper El Pais reported that the ship is linked to Rostec State Corporation’s chief executive Sergey Chemezov.

9. The $578 million Sailing Yacht A owned by Russian billionaire Andrey Igorevich Melnichenko was seized by Italian police in the port of Trieste on March 12.

10. The 156-metre Dilbar superyacht is owned by Russian billionaire Alisher Usmanov.

11. La Datcha belongs to Russian billionaire businessman Oleg Tinkov.

12. Lady M , owned by Russian oligarch Alexei Mordashov, was seized by Italian police on March 5.

13. Amore Vero was seized in the Mediterranean resort of La Ciotat on March 3 by French authorities. The yacht is linked to Igor Sechin, a Putin ally who runs the Russian oil giant Rosneft.

14. Quantum Blue , owned by a company linked to Russian billionaire Sergei Galitsky, the head of Russian oil giant Rosneft, was seized in southern France on March 3.

15. Superyacht Luna is owned by Russian billionaire Farkhad Akhmedov.

16. Triple Seven is owned by Russian billionaire Alexander Abramov, according to media reports. The yacht was last up for sale in 2020 for €38 million ($41.85 million).

Roman Abramovich’s two megayachts ‘sailing for sanctions safe haven Turkey’ after jet flies back to Moscow

ROMAN Abramovich's two megayachts are said to be setting sail for sanctions safe haven Turkey as an assets hunt on Russian oligarchs ramps up.

The Russian billionaire's £430m superyacht Solaris is already heading south, allegedly for Turkey, after docking in Montenegro on Sunday, according to Sky News .

Roman Abramovich was seen in Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion airport yesterday before his jet took off for Istanbul

His second ship, Eclipse, is off the coast of Algeria.

Brussels has followed the UK in imposing sanctions on oligarchs who support Putin, including Abramovich.

However, Turkey has said it won't join international sanctions against, Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu has said, creating a small safe haven for oligarchs looking to escape Western officials.

It comes as there is speculation Abramovich might be planning a more permanent move to Turkey and could start his own football team there.

Abramovich’s £430M yacht docks in Montenegro amid hunt for fleeing fleet

The Telegraph speculates Abramovich may make a bid for Goztepe FC, which, like Chelsea in 2003, hasn't won a league title since the 1950s.

It comes as Abramovich is thought to have landed in Moscow after fleeing his mansion in Israel, it's been reported.

Two superyachts belonging to the battered  billionaire  have now set sail to evade sanctions imposed on him by the European Union, who allege he has "privileged access" to Vladimir Putin.

A private jet, which has been linked to the Russian-Israeli billionaire, has also just returned to the Russian capital where it landed at 3am on Tuesday.

The route of the aircraft was followed by plane tracker Flightradar24 and the Russian Oligarch Jets Twitter account.

Abramovich's two superyachts, the £430million My Solaris and the £1billion Eclipse, could also be on their way to Turkey in a bid to avoid being seized, according MarineTraffic.

My Solaris - which boasts its own helipad and missile detection system - has left Montenegro and is now sailing down the Adriatic, between Italy and Greece.

And Eclipse is making its way through the Mediterranean near Algeria after sailing from the Caribbean.

On Tuesday, the Chelsea Football Club owner had been spotted looking dishevelled in Israel's Ben Gurion airport shortly before his jet took off for Istanbul.

Photos showed the  Chelsea  owner sitting alone in the airport's VIP lounge with a face mask pulled down over his chin.

He was seen peering at his phone while glancing overhead.

It's understood the billionaire  drove from his £65million mansion towards the airport earlier in the day .

And his luxury Gulfstream G650ER jet - registered LX-Ray - landed in Turkey just after 3pm on Monday before continuing his route.

Abramovich, who also holds Portuguese citizenship, was among seven Russian billionaires added to the British sanctions list last week.

The EU has now followed suit, saying Abramovich enjoys "privileged access" to Vladimir Putin,  Politico reports.

It's claimed these "very good relations" helped to line his own pockets in industries that offered "a substantial source of revenue" to the Kremlin, helping Moscow fund its invasion of Ukraine.

The move is part of efforts to isolate Putin over Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Israel's Foreign Minister Yair Lapid said the country's financial, banking and aviation authorities were looking into the issue of Russian oligarch's in the country.

In a statement made while on a visit to Slovakia, which borders Ukraine, he said: "Israel will not be a route to bypass sanctions imposed on Russia by the United States and other Western countries.”

Abramovich, who has denied having close ties to  Putin , gained Israeli citizenship in 2018, quickly putting him in the top three wealthiest men in Israel.

It comes as the UK impounded a private jet connected to the Russian oligarch at Farnborough Airport, according to CNBC.

He also had £3.2billion of UK assets frozen by the British government over his alleged close ties to  Putin  - stopping him from selling his share of Chelsea.

Abramovich is worth £10.4billion, according to Forbes, and owns a £150million mansion in Kensington, a £33milliion West London penthouse and yachts,  private jets , helicopters and supercars worth more than £1.2billion

Chelsea on Friday  had their accounts frozen , after sanctions came in to ban the club from selling tickets and merchandise.

Telecom firm sponsors  Three pulled out of their £40million-a-year deal with the club , and the team has two weeks to find a new buyer who can fork out the £28million per month wage bill or go into administration.

The Government said it is prepared to approve the 117-year-old club’s sale as long as Abramovich does not receive a penny.

At least four yachts and a private jet owned by Russians or their families have managed to escape the sanctions brought by the West by spiriting them away.

According to Flightradar24, Abramovich's jet left Moscow's Knukovo International Airport on Sunday at 16:43 local time and flew through Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan and Turkey before landing in Tel Aviv at 21:18.

One Twitter user has posted the jet's flight record over the past few weeks.

The plane flew to Moscow from Baku, Azerbaijan, on March 1 and later left for Istanbul and flew to the Ankara the following day, where it stayed before returning to Istanbul on March 4.

On Sunday, it left Istanbul for Moscow before making the trip to Ben-Gurion Airport.
