[Feedback] Trimaran Skiff Skin: telekinesis?

It looks pretty silly with our character just sitting there calmly, still. It ruins the whole boating experience for me. Perhaps you could give future skiff skins a decent driving animation etc like the default one's?

Don’t try to steer the skiff.

Instead, realize there is no skiff.

use skiff modules. My skiff is powered by a kitten farting rainbows! And it’s adorable too

How to get and use a Skiff in Guild Wars 2 End of Dragons

One of the newest features added to Guild Wars 2 with the End of Dragons expansion is fishing and Skiffs. To fish on the open water, players need to grab a Skiff first.

Skiffs are available pretty early in the game and they’re required for players to grab before they continue farther into the story at some point. This means that simply playing through the game will prompt players to pick up their Skiffs.

They’re also incredibly easy to obtain in the game and available the second your character drops into the map. Just under the Sizhou Hall point-of-interest, players will come across a repeatable heart quest that tasks them with repairing boats, rescuing villagers, cleaning debris, and defeating enemies in the area.

Once players are finished with that objective, Hall Director Soohee will open up as a vendor and she’ll sell you the Skiff. Once players have their Skiff, it can be a little difficult to find the button to use it because it’s so small. But there’s a tiny arrow button right next to the mastery button that equips a player’s fishing rod that will pull up an option to bring out your Skiff. The button is highlighted in red in the image below.

After that, a holographic image of the Skiff will show up and players will know where they can place their Skiff based on what color the image is. Red means that the Skiff can’t be placed there, while purple means it can. This is usually a spot close to the coast but also safely submerged in a body of water deep enough for it.

Once your Skiff is placed, you can jump in and press F to board it. Your friends can also jump into the boat, and emoting while in the boat makes it go faster for you.

Skiffs bought from the vendor have the base skin applied. There’s also an upgraded skin that features a dragon on the front and scales on the back of it, which is available for purchase in the Gem Store.

Guild Wars 2: End of Dragons - How To Get A Skiff

Skiffs are a way for you and four of your friends to ride together on the open water.

End of Dragons is the new expansion for Guild Wars 2 , an MMORPG set in a fantasy world called Tyria. This latest addition has players exploring a region called Cantha, which has been shut off from the rest of the world for years.

The sharing of knowledge between Cantha and Central Tyria means that there are plenty of new gameplay mechanics for players to enjoy. One of these is the Skiff, a small boat that can hold up to 5 players. This guide will walk you through the process of acquiring one for yourself.

You'll gain access to the first new map, Seitung Province, by completing the first couple of End of Dragons' story missions. (Beware spoilers ahead.)

You'll start off by reconnecting with Aurene and other members of your team. Then, you'll follow Gorrik into a meeting with a former colleague only for him to be captured by Aetherblades. After chasing the Aetherblades for a while, you'll crash-land in an unfamiliar place. After a while, you'll realize that this is Cantha - the human-run continent and society that has been cut off from the rest of the world for 100 years. After some introductory story content, you'll be given free rein to run around Seitung Province.

When you decide to set your sights on getting a Skiff of your very own, journey into the northwest. Keep your eye out for a renown heart quest between Shinota Shore and the Jaya Bluffs.

In fact, an easy way to get into this area is to take a Raptor Taxi. That's a new mechanic in Seitung Province where you talk to an NPC and get a raptor to automatically escort you to another part of the region. If you'd like to do that, just look for the black and white checkered icon inside a golden teardrop to locate your nearest Raptor Taxi, then ask to be taken to the Jaya Bluffs.

This renown heart is led by Hall Director Soohee, who asks the player to help out the nearby temple.

To complete this renown heart, you can...

• Kill nearby Aetherblades
• Repair skiffs that are docked nearby
• Ride the repaired skiffs and pick up humans who are trapped in the water
• Ride the repaired skiffs into debris, destroying it

Of course, killing Aetherblades is the most straightforward method. However, it's not a bad idea to take a ride in the skiffs at least once - it's meant to give you a chance to try out the controls before you get a skiff for yourself from Hall Director Soohee.

Once you have completed the renown heart, you'll be able to purchase items from Hall Director Soohee - including a Fishing Skiff!

The skiff costs...

• 2 Writs of Seitung Province OR 20 Imperial Favours

We recommend paying with Writs of Seitung Province. They're easily obtained by completing End of Dragons' story missions and you only need two. If you don't want to do the story missions yet, you can also purchase 1 Writ of Seitung Province from Hall Director Soohee per day for 1,050 Karma. Just be sure not to double-click on the Writs, because that transforms a Writ into 5 Imperial Favours. If you use Imperial Favours, you'll need 4 Writs instead of 2.

Once you've obtained the Skiff, you'll be able to ride it anytime, anywhere in Tyria, and you'll unlock a new Skiff Piloting Mastery Track. By investing points into that Mastery Track, you can increase your speed, learn to sink enemies that approach, and improve your fishing skills while on your Skiff.
