She is a true head turner with her jet-black hull, teak decks and sweeping views.

When stepping on board ARISTARCHOS, her impressive spaces – both inside and outside – are immediately apparent, creating a feeling of grandeur but still with an element of privacy. Sweeping decks offer plenty of space to relax or enjoy the thrill of traveling under sail. A shaded cockpit includes seating and a table for al fresco dining.

Her elegant interior by design house Rhoades Young features luxurious materials including leather and walnut and subtle marine-themed elements. The raised saloon is a spectacular space, flooded with natural light, which offers panoramic views. The saloon features a large dining area, relaxed seating, a games table, bar and much more to create an inviting space that is perfect to retreat to after a busy day on the water.

ARISTARCHOS accommodates eight guests in three staterooms: the master suite, one double and one twin.

The master suite has two king-sized beds, one to port and one to starboard, two walk-in closets, a dressing and office table and ensuite.

The VIP has one queen-sized berth and a pull-man bed. The twin stateroom has two single beds. Each stateroom has an ensuite.

            14 a/c/ fan coils were replaced with new. All a/c air-ducting pipes were replaced with new

            New Radar – 2x SIMRAD HALO 3 (48 nm range each)

            A+ Rigging: a full Level a Visual rigging inspection including check of mast jack pressure December 2020

            Next rigging inspection – done 2022

            Mast was pulled out by A+ Rigging.

            All the rigging rods and fittings are fabricated new from BSI.

            All the halyards new from Mallorca after being spliced at the ends.

            The 54m carbon mast, the boom, spreaders and boom-vang were painted with Awlgrip (snow white 2000) by Professional Paintworks.

            Both Reckmann hydraulic furlings were sent to Reckmann for service.

            The sails were sent to Kafetzidakis Sails for washing maintenance and storage.

            The hydraulic crane for the Castoldi boat was overhauled, the motor and the 3 hydraulic cylinders were serviced.

            All 6 hydraulic cylinders from the rigging were overhauled and serviced.

            Both JP3 rudders were pulled out for service.

            All the 24 sea valves were replaced. New elastic sea pipes installed.

            Upgraded the electronic controls for the main engines and generators.

            A new induction stove and new grill were installed in the galley.

            All the air conditioning system, fan coils, air handlers, and air ducting were cleaned and sanitized/

            The teak deck was sanded

            Top sides and superstructure polished

Built in 2006, Aristarchos offers guest accommodation for up to 8 guests in 3 suites comprising a master suite, one VIP cabin and one twin cabin. When stepping on board ARISTARCHOS, her impressive spaces – both inside and outside – are immediately apparent, creating a feeling of grandeur but still with an element of privacy. Sweeping decks offer plenty of space to relax or enjoy the thrill of traveling under sail. A shaded cockpit includes seating and a table for al fresco dining.

Her elegant interior by design house Rhoades Young features luxurious materials including leather and walnut and subtle marine-themed elements. The raised saloon is a spectacular space, flooded with natural light, which offers panoramic views. The saloon features a large dining area, relaxed seating, a games table, bar and much more to create an inviting space that is perfect to retreat to after a busy day on the water.

            The 54m carbon mast, the boom, spreaders and boom-vang were painted with Awlgrip (snow white 0) by Professional Paintworks.

            Both Reckmann hydraulic furlings were sent to Reckmann for service.

            The sails were sent to Kafetzidakis Sails for washing maintenance and storage.

            The hydraulic crane for the Castoldi boat was overhauled, the motor and the 3 hydraulic cylinders were serviced.

            All 6 hydraulic cylinders from the rigging were overhauled and serviced.

            Both JP3 rudders were pulled out for service.

            All the sea valves were replaced. New elastic sea pipes installed.

            Upgraded the electronic controls for the main engines and generators.

            A new induction stove and new grill were installed in the galley.

            All the air conditioning system, fan coils, air handlers, and air ducting were cleaned and sanitized/

Built in 2006 by the renowned sailing yacht builder Nautor’s Swan, ARISTARCHOS is absolutely impeccable. Guests who enjoy the salty air in their hair as they fly over the waves will be delighted by a luxury yacht charter aboard ARISTARCHOS. The yacht’s interior spaces were designed by Rhoades Young. Her exterior styling and engineering suite are courtesy of German Frers. Maintained to the highest standards, ARISTARCHOS was last refitted in 2015.

Design and performance

The displacement luxury sailing yacht ARISTARCHOS has a GRP hull and superstructure. Her beam stands at 28 feet (8.5m) and her draft is 16 feet (4.8m). The yacht’s beautiful teak decks are the perfect place to sit in the sunshine while underway, taking in the views. While ARISTARCHOS is ideally wind-powered, she also has two diesel Caterpillar engines that provide her with 980 horsepower. She has a 14-knot maximum speed and a 12-knot cruising speed. The yacht is propelled by twin screw props. ARISTARCHOS boasts a nautical-mile range of 2,534.

The yacht’s beautiful, warm interior. Sumptuous caramel and other earth tones are found throughout, from the stunning wood floors to the rich leather sofas. Luxurious leather armchairs are artfully set by built-in bookshelves where guests can sit and relax and enjoy some downtime. The yacht’s large oval formal dining table welcomes all guests for delightful and delicious meals prepared by the yacht’s chef. The interior spaces of luxury charter yacht ARISTARCHOS are air-conditioned to ensure comfort for guests no matter where they cruise.

Eight guests are accommodated in three lavish staterooms aboard sailing yacht ARISTARCHOS. She offers a stunning master suite, a beautiful VIP suite and a twin stateroom where guests will enjoy comfort and restful nights at sea. Six professional sailors provide exemplary service to guests.

The uncluttered deck spaces of ARISTARCHOS are the perfect platform for enjoying the sunshine and sea. Dine alfresco at the yacht’s built-in dining table or take a dip in the sea by jumping off the swim platform during your luxury sailing yacht charter.

Built in Finland in 2006 by Nautor's Swan, and designed by German Frers, ARISTARCHOS is the largest yacht ever built by the acclaimed sailing yacht builder and boasts sleek looks and impressive performance credentials when under sail. She is a true head turner with her jet-black hull, teak decks and sweeping views.

When stepping on board ARISTARCHOS, her impressive spaces - both inside and outside - are immediately apparent, creating a feeling of grandeur but still with an element of privacy. Sweeping decks offer plenty of space to relax or enjoy the thrill of traveling under sail. A shaded cockpit includes seating and a table for al fresco dining.

Her elegant interior by design house Rhoades Young features luxurious materials including leather and walnut and subtle marine-themed elements. The raised saloon is a spectacular space, flooded with natural light, which offers panoramic views. The saloon features a large dining area, relaxed seating, a games table, bar and much more to create an inviting space that is perfect to retreat to after a busy day on the water.

Killer whales attack and sink sailing yacht in the Strait of Gibraltar — again

A sailing yacht sunk in the Strait of Gibraltar on Sunday after an unknown number of orcas  slammed into the vessel with two people on board and caused a water leak, officials said. Both crew members were rescued by a passing oil tanker, said Spain's maritime rescue service, marking the latest killer whale attack on a boat in what has become a pattern in recent years.

The incident happened at around 9 a.m. local time in the narrow strait between Spain and Morocco that has become a notorious site of human interactions with pods of killer whales that, for reasons still not fully understood, ram into boats and at times even sink them . In this case, crew members on board the SV Alboran Cognac yacht put out an emergency call for an evacuation after they encountered orcas roughly 14 miles off the coast of Cape Spartel. 

The crew members reported feeling blows to the hull of the vessel and rudder, which was damaged by the whales, the rescue service said. The agency's coordination center in Tarifa, on the Spanish side of the Strait of Gibraltar, helped arrange for their evacuation via the tanker MT Lascaux. The tanker was able to collect the crew members from the sinking yacht within the hour, and they disembarked in Gibraltar before 10:30 a.m. They abandoned the SV Alboran Cognac, which proceeded to completely disappear into the ocean.

Anyone sailing through waters from the Gulf of Cádiz in southern Spain and the Strait of Gibraltar, either in a larger motorized vessel or a personal sailing boat, is advised to avoid certain areas that the maritime rescue service marks as potentially dangerous spots for orca interactions. The greatest threats exist between May and August, when officials say that pods of killer whales are most commonly seen in those parts of the Atlantic. 

But previously recorded incidents suggest those dangers may be present at any time. Last October, a Polish boat touring company reported that a pod of orcas had managed to sink one of its yachts after repeatedly slamming into the steering fin for 45 minutes, causing it to leak. Last June, two sailing teams competing in an international race around the world reported frightening scenarios in which multiple orcas rammed into or pushed up against their boats or as they sailed west of Gibraltar. 

No one on board any of the vessels was hurt in those encounters, but the documented rise in confrontational behavior has researchers and sailors trying to determine why orcase have attempted to sink or capsize so many boats off the coasts of Spain and Portugal. 

Some sailors have even resorted to blasting thrash metal music in a bid to deter the apex predators.

Reports of orcas interacting with humans have more than tripled in the last two years or so, according to the research group GTOA, which has documented hundreds of such incidents in the region since 2020. But some of the latest data points to possible changes in the orcas' etiquette, with the group reporting only 26 interactions in the Strait of Gibraltar and Bay of Biscay areas between January and May of this year. That number is 65% lower than the number of interactions recorded in the region over the same months last year, and 40% lower than the average number of interactions recorded in the same months between 2021 and 2023, according to GTOA.

            A+ Rigging: a full Level a Visual rigging inspection including check of mast jack pressure December 2020

            Mast was pulled out by A+ Rigging.

            All the rigging rods and fittings are fabricated new from BSI.

            All the halyards new from Mallorca after being spliced at the ends.

            The 54m carbon mast, the boom, spreaders and boom-vang were painted with Awlgrip (snow white 2000) by Professional Paintworks.

            Both Reckmann hydraulic furlings were sent to Reckmann for service.

            The sails were sent to Kafetzidakis Sails for washing maintenance and storage.

            The hydraulic crane for the Castoldi boat was overhauled, the motor and the 3 hydraulic cylinders were serviced.

            All 6 hydraulic cylinders from the rigging were overhauled and serviced.

            Both JP3 rudders were pulled out for service.

            All the 24 sea valves were replaced. New elastic sea pipes installed.

            Upgraded the electronic controls for the main engines and generators.

            A new induction stove and new grill were installed in the galley.

            All the air conditioning system, fan coils, air handlers, and air ducting were cleaned and sanitized/

            The teak deck was sanded

            Top sides and superstructure polished

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce were photographed on a romantic boat ride on Italy’s Lake Como Wednesday between stops on the singer’s record-breaking Eras Tour.

The couple was spotted holding hands as they made their way down to the docks in front of their $21,000-per-night private villa.

While waiting for the boat, Swift and Kelce, both 34, posed for a few fun photos, flashing the cameras peace signs while wrapping their arms around one another.

Despite the rainy weather, the pair appeared to be in great spirits and they snuggled up on the dock, with Swift wrapping her arms around Kelce’s waist as he leaned down to kiss her forehead.

Once they boarded the boat, the pair posed for a couple more loved-up snaps, taken on Swift’s personal camera by another passenger.

The pair, seated in the back, looked lovingly into one another’s eyes as the unidentified man snapped away from the front of the vessel.

The “Cruel Summer” singer, who placed a hand on Kelce’s cheek, then leaned in for a sweet kiss.

The couple seemingly color-coordinated their looks for the afternoon, both opting for a neutral color palette.

While Swift is set to play in Sweden for the next few nights, Kelce is expected to be back in Kansas City for the Kelce Jam, a music festival hosted by the tight end.
