The 52.42m/172' motor yacht 'Gallant Lady' was built by Feadship in the Netherlands at their Aalsmeer shipyard. Her interior is styled by design house Paola D. Smith & Associates and she was completed in 1996. This luxury vessel's exterior design is the work of Richard Jorden and she was last refitted in 2022.

Gallant Lady is built with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, with teak decks. Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (3508B) 1,000hp engines, she comfortably cruises at 13 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 15 knots with a range of up to 4,606 nautical miles from her 72,301 litre fuel tanks. Her water tanks store around 15,900 Litres of fresh water.

The motor yacht GALLANT LADY is a 52 m 171 (ft) important steel vessel which was manufactured at The Feadship De Vries Shipyard and designed by De Voogt Naval Architects and Rick Jorden. Sleeping 10 guests and 14 qualified crew, motor yacht GALLANT LADY is ex 651 as her project name and/or yacht title. Ready for launch in 1995 her interior design reveals the stately ambience emanating from the boards of Paola D Smith.

The Shipyard Work & Naval Architecture for Luxury Yacht GALLANT LADY

De Voogt Naval Architects was the naval architect involved in the professional superyacht plans for GALLANT LADY. Her interior design was realised by Paola D Smith. De Voogt Naval Architects and Rick Jorden is also associated with the yacht general design work for this yacht. In 1995 she was actually launched with accolade in Aalsmeer and following sea trials and final completion was afterwards passed on to the owner who commissioned her. The Feadship De Vries Shipyard completed their new build motor yacht in the Netherlands. Her hull was constructed with steel. The motor yacht superstructure is made largely from aluminiumandgrp. With a beam of 9.91 m or 32.5 ft GALLANT LADY has spacious room. She has a fairly shallow draught of 2.68m (8.8ft). She had refit maintenance and alteration work carried out by 2008.

Installed with twin CATERPILLAR diesel main engines, GALLANT LADY can attain a high speed of 15 knots. For propulsion GALLANT LADY has twin screw propellers. She also has an economical range of 5700 nautical miles whilst sailing at her cruise speed of 13 knots. Her total HP is 1920 HP and her total Kilowatts are 1413. With respect to thrusters she utilises Holland Roer. With respect to the ship’s stabalisers she was built with Vosper.

52m Feadship Gallant Lady emerges after year-long refit

The 52.46 metre Gallant Lady is en route to Rotterdam following a full-scale refit at Feadship's Aalsmeer shipyard. The yacht entered the refit shed almost a year ago and is set to be redelivered in the coming weeks after the successful completion of sea trials.

The yacht has undergone significant work to both her interior and exterior and the yard has also performed scheduled maintenance and technical upgrades to bring her up to 2022 standards.

In a statement, Feadship described the refit as "intensive". The yard hasn't disclosed all of the specifics of the work, but it has said that the interior has been "completely reconfigured".

The yacht has also benefitted from new alfresco areas, including a the addition of a new beach club and reconfigured flybridge. 

Gallant Lady was delivered in 1996 to a design by Rick Jorden with interiors by Paola D. Smith. Her striking profile features a contrast of horizontal and vertical segments of glazing, and, unusually for a yacht of this size, is home to a flybridge with a control station. 

Meanwhile, the yacht's interiors have been kept under wraps since she hit the water, however it is known they follow a classic theme.

It comes at a busy time for Feadship, with the yard having recently redelivered Mogambo fresh from an eight-month refit .

Built to perfection by renowned Dutch yacht builder Feadship, GALLANT LADY is in a league of her own. She was the first Feadship built with an interior using lightweight aircraft tech and the first yacht launched under the Royal DeVries designation. She has been meticulously maintained with no expense spared on updates and upgrades, including a $6.9-million refit in 2020 that revolutionized her design and technical abilities. The Feadship also boasts eco-friendly modernizations, ensuring she is kind to her cruising grounds.

The trademark vertical windows seen on GALLANT LADY set her apart from other yachts in her class. Her stacked decks and raked bow were designed by her previous owner. The attention to detail put into GALLANT LADY’s build, inside and out, is second to none. From the signature “F” on her bow to the intricate glasswork and 17 types of marble and granite, she is a sight to behold.

GALLANT LADY welcomes 10 guests in five beautifully-appointed staterooms. The bridge-deck master offers private deck space and expansive windows allowing plenty of natural light. Elegant furnishings, high-quality linens and tasteful woodwork are seen in each of the superyacht’s cabins. Sycamore, myrtle burl and black walnut come together to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for guests while onboard. GALLANT LADY’s custom Tai Ping carpets and silk panels contribute to her sophisticated atmosphere.
