Applications are managed by our Membership Committee and require sponsorship and letters of recommendation from current members. Our club depends on the active participation and volunteer efforts of all members. Metedeconk River Yacht Club | MCYC
Metedeconk River Yacht Club was founded by a group of devoted yachtsmen in 1936. Metedeconk River joined the BBYRA in 1946 where they were originally known as MRYC, This was changed to MCYC when Manasquan River joined the BBYRA. As the membership expanded, the founders purchased its present site on the south shore of the River in 1963. Shortly thereafter, a clubhouse was built on the property, along with the installation of a bulkhead, docks and slip area; an in ground pool was installed in 1972. As the membership grew, the main clubhouse has been expanded three times, the latest remodel being in 2001.

Toms River Yacht Club | TRYC
Toms River Yacht Club was organized in 1871 and held is first regatta on July 26 of that year. By 1911 a growing membership built a new clubhouse on Robbins Parkway. That building is now the site of the Water Street Bar and Grill. Fifty seven years later in 1968, TRYC moved to its present location on Money Island. Toms River Yacht Club joined the BBYRA in 1922.

SAYC extends reciprocal privileges to members of fellow BBYRA yacht clubs . Members of US Sailing recognized yacht clubs are welcome as guests of SAYC on an occasional basis. Those competing in SAYC sponsored sailing events will be extended guest privileges.

Many yacht clubs around the world offer temporary reciprocity to visiting Shore Acres Yacht Club members. Many times you need to reach out to the yacht club in question to ensure this is the case, and obtain a letter from the current Shore Acres Yacht Club Commodore.
Burgee Exchange
Sayc burgee exchange.
It is a nautical tradition to exchange burgees when visiting other yacht clubs or entering into reciprocity agreements. Members traveling to other clubs may purchase burgees in advance from our ship store. When exchanging burgees with another club, please record the exchange with a picture which can be included in our newsletter. In these cases, it is important that any picture displays the Shore Acres Yacht Club burgee positioned in the right way, with the blue stars pointing up as it flies on our flag pole!
