Inside the adventures of superyacht owners around the world
Every month, superyacht owners reveal where they are in the world and share their future plans. This month, the 32-metre Windship and Trident -built sailing yacht Elton prepares for her 2024 European tour, while a championship-winning sailor states his preference for an expedition motor yacht...
Andy Scott, owner of Elton
Length : 31.7m Year: 1992 Location: Portsmouth
How do you get your yachting fix in winter? I’m having to do some work in the UK this winter on a big deal for our transport companies, but the plan is to take Elton XX , my 20-metre classic, to the Caribbean this year to do the regattas in Antigua, St Maartin and eventually the St Barths Bucket in 2025. She’s currently out of the water, having her 62-year-old hull checked out to make sure she’s still floating in another 60 years. She’s often described as the most beautiful Sangermani ever built.
How’s the 2024 charter season looking? Elton charters out at €35,000 per week, and that lower end of the superyacht market tends to fill up at the last minute. Often our charters are booked with just two days’ notice, which the crew hate, but it fills gaps. Last year we did something new and marketed the yacht for €100,000 a month, which was really popular with people who wanted an extended holiday in the South of France, the Balearics, Corsica and Italy. If we can book these month-long charters for June and September, it’s great business, and leaves the prime weeks to fill up at the full rate, which is the hope.
How have the last few years been for charter? We have been fully booked for the last three years. Coming out of Covid-19, we did the Med followed by the Caribbean and managed to book 14 weeks. However, this puts a strain on both the boat and crew, and leaves very little time for planned maintenance if you arrive back from the Caribbean around May to start Med charters in June. I treat my boats as businesses rather than toys, so in future I plan to leave Elton in Europe for the Med season, and leave the smaller boat, Elton XX , in the Caribbean. This means crew are employed year-round and the boats don’t get so battered. It also means I get to spend a decent amount of time on both boats. My big concern is finding somewhere safe to leave the smaller boat in the Caribbean so it’s out of the big hurricane areas.
What’s the secret to keeping a great charter crew? It’s becoming harder and harder, especially as boats are becoming larger, and crew naturally want to work on bigger, shinier, newer boats. I aim to get couples, as it’s good for crew retention (despite it being my idea of hell!). Also, small touches like making sure the captain has a car wherever he or she is makes a big difference.
Do you have your eye on any other yachts? I currently have a 60-metre former cargo ship and am trying to find a permanent mooring for it on the Thames to convert it into a home, which is no easy task for a vessel of that size. It has six bedrooms, an indoor/outdoor pool and can double as a floating boutique hotel. I got very close to buying a 47-metre Perini last year which needed a full refit. I’m always open to such deals if sellers need to sell quickly.
Where’s your favourite place to cruise? I spend summers at my house between Cannes and Saint-Tropez or on one of the boats when they’re not chartered. It’s a great base as most charters start in Monaco, Cannes, or Corsica.
What’s your drink of choice on deck? I still drink vodka and Diet Coke, despite it being a teenagers’ drink. Sometimes the 3am heart palpitations tell me I should probably switch to my more mature second preference of gin and tonic!
Douglas Rastello, owner of Preference 19
Length: 36.4m Year: 2011 Location: Loano
What’s happening with Preference 19 in the off season? Preference 19 is currently out of the water getting spruced up for the Med season but will be back in the water soon. In July and August, we offer the boat for charter as we spend those months in Lake Tahoe, spending spring and autumn on board. We’re pleased if we can pick up six or seven charters a year.
As a former America’s Cupper, will you be in Barcelona later this year? We want to support the American Magic team, so the plan is to be in Barcelona during the races. I remember back in 2007 when the Cup was in Valencia there were hundreds of yachts in the marina that went out each day watching the races. The starting line area was quite a spectacle – I hope they can recreate that environment again this year. I do worry about the sailing conditions in Barcelona in October, but I am sure it will be an event not to miss and we will be there.
Preference 19 is not your typical white boat. What drew you to her? We prefer explorer-style motor yachts like Preference 19 , with extensive exterior space and a clean, modern interior. She’s a little over 10 years old now and looks great. It’s perfect for families because of the deck space, where people can just hang out and take advantage of the multitude of water activities. On board, we have circuit training in the morning and have a basketball hoop for a game in the afternoon. Preference 19 is not about interior volume; for us it’s about life on the water and living outside.
You’re a sailor at heart. Was it hard buying a motor yacht? I don’t know how to answer that because Preference 19 was such an impulse buy! We weren’t looking for a motor yacht, she found us. It’s one of the best things we have ever done. In the future I can see transitioning to a large sailing yacht, but we’re not in a hurry. I am active in the J/70 racing scene in Europe and the States, and also participate in other regattas.
Have you made many changes to the yacht? We’ve changed some of the soft furnishings and furniture layouts, but we haven’t made any dramatic changes. Like many other yachts, we have added Starlink because you need to have reliable high-speed internet on board.
Do you get involved in the running of the boat? We work with our captain and our management company, Edmiston , weekly, especially in the off season to approve winter works and plan for the coming season. There are seven crew on board – four roles are steady and three tend to rotate a bit. The crew make the Preference 19 experience special, for us and for all our charter guests.

The Wellington Yacht: Specs & Cost
The wellington yacht: what you need to know about the ‘below deck’ vessel.
On the fifth season of the hit TV show Below Deck Mediterranean , the luxury yacht featured was the biggest boat in the series’ history. 1 Captain Sandy Yawn and her crew sailed charter clients around the Spanish resort town of Mallorca in The Wellington yacht. Don’t worry, there won’t be any reality TV cameras on board! Our team at Yacht Management South Florida Inc. provide a look at this vessel, as well as many other insights on our yacht maintenance blog , to let our current and future clients have a better idea of what's going on in the industry.
M/Y THE WELLESLEY Details

Its exterior was designed by Gerhard Gilgenast and its elegant 1920s inspired interior was designed by Donald Starkey. Mahogany bedrooms, Italian linens, and painted portraits of Winston Churchill and Che Guevara smoking cigars are just a few of the details that bring in Jazz Age glamour to the vessel's interior.
"Obviously, they spared no expense when it comes to this. This owner really loves his cigars and his whiskey." – Captain Sandy Yawn 2

Superyacht Owner Adventures and 112 (37.2m) Flagship M/Y Serenity
Posted March 1, 2018 in Charter by Janine St.Denis
The 122-foot (37.2m) Flagship motor yacht SERENITY is a true testament to her name. Built in 1993, but fully refitted in 2017, SERENITY offers guests a tranquil oasis from which to explore the natural wonders of the Pacific Northwest and Alaska. Eight guests are welcomed aboard for the ultimate luxury adventure — which is exactly what her owners wanted. SERENITY is their first yacht; they purchased her in 2016 and have been delighted by her ever since. Avid charterers, the owners of SERENITY were keen to explore the incredible waters from Seattle to South Alaska; for them, owning their own yacht was the next step.
They spend between six and eight weeks a year on board in the Pacific Northwest and Alaska. Previously named TALOS, the owners dubbed their yacht SERENITY because “that is how we feel when we’re aboard. She is the perfect yacht for this region,” her owners say. There are lots of enclosed spaces, like the flybridge — which can be alfresco — and the skylounge, that allow you to enjoy the sights regardless of conditions. The region in which the yacht cruises is unlike the traditional tropical yachting hot spots. Which is just how her owners like it. They’re often on board in Alaska. First thing in the morning, the owner will enjoy a run on the yacht’s treadmill, then the adventures begin. SERENITY’s 29-foot Alaskan-style fishing boat, the SERENE MACHINE, is fully outfitted for exploration. It is perfectly suited to be independent of the main yacht for the day and comfortably accommodates eight people. The SERENE MACHINE has a stand-up day head and is enclosed in order to protect from the weather. The SERENE MACHINE is perfect to take guests ashore for hikes, get up-close-and-personal with glaciers, cast a line and hope to reel in the big one, and cruise alongside pods of orcas and other incredible wildlife. “We’ve had it only one season,” the owners say, “and it opened up the utility of the yacht in ways you never imagined.”
One of the owners’ favorite aspects of the yacht is the on-deck master. “It’s a huge plus as opposed to being downstairs,” they say, but also mention, “The yacht has great spaces for gathering with everyone on board, but it also has places perfect for some quiet time to read a book or watch the scenery go by.”
SERENITY’s owners love Alaska and Puget Sound; this region is their favorite cruising destination. “The beauty and the wildlife are incomparable to anywhere we’ve ever been,” they say. “From the islands and changing nature of the landscape to seeing whales, otters, eagles and bears, to going fishing and crabbing, there’s so much to do — we love enjoying the many things that part of the country has to offer.” Another favorite cruising location for SERENITY’s owners is New England along the Penobscot Bay of Maine and farther north into Canada. They also enjoy The Bahamas, specifically the Exumas — they really love the fishing there. But they maintain that no matter where else they have cruised, Alaska is by far the most unique. “It’s constantly changing and always surprising you,” they maintain, adding, “There’s one spot in Red Bluff Bay where you can nose the yacht to a tidal waterfall then cruise a couple of hundred yards and spot a bear fishing in a meadow, then in a few more hundred yards, you drop the shrimp pods to catch dinner.”
SERENITY is the perfect yacht in the perfect location for her owners. They enjoy every moment aboard and they offer her for charter, allowing guests to relish the luxury and incredible location that go hand-in-hand with SERENITY. “She was on the charter market when we bought her,” the owners say. “We expected to be aboard between six and eight weeks a year in Alaska and with her already consistent charter following, it made sense for us to make her available to others in those incredible waters. The responses from clients who cruise in that area are always the same — they are blown away. Unless you’ve spent a lot of time up there, it’s unlike anything you’ve experienced before. We also get a lot of compliments on our incredible crew, but what guests talk about most are their experiences in the hidden bays in which they anchor, and the incredible opportunities SERENE MACHINE has opened up.”
Charter guests get to enjoy everything from fishing to wildlife spotting — “one group of charter guests were out on SERENE MACHINE when a pod of orcas came by,” the owners say. “One of the whales was swimming on its back under the boat, getting a belly scratch from the keel.” Another favorite memory for guests is cruising past glaciers and picking up a piece of floating ice for cocktails that evening.
The captain and crew of SERENITY further enhance the onboard experience. From the captain with a 20-year Navy career and lots of big-boat experience to the chef who creates incredible Alaskan feasts from the fresh fish caught by the guests that day, the crew up the ante aboard SERENITY, ensuring an enjoyable, five-star experience for all.
After all, yachting is all about having fun! “We love being on the water,” the owners of SERENITY say. And their yacht allows them total flexibility and total peacefulness. “We love to anchor out in a beautiful bay with nothing around us but nature.”

Screen Rant
8 below deck stews who never listened to their chief stews.
Some Below Deck Stews have shown such disrespect for the hierarchy and irresponsible behavior that they had to be removed from the yacht.
- Some Below Deck cast members, like Tom Pearson and Leon Walker, were uncooperative and were fired for their bad behavior.
- Alissa Humber, June Foster, and Magda Ziomek were difficult stews and disrespected their Chief Stews, leading to their eventual dismissal from the crew.
- Camille Lamb, Lexi Wilson, and Elizabeth Frankini were other Stews who caused drama and were eventually let go for their actions.
Below Deck has featured many uncooperative cast members over the years, a few of whom have been Stews. The Bravo series allows many new faces to showcase their personality on reality TV every year. Some leave a mark, while others become known for being the worst cast members ever. Tom Pearson from Below Deck Sailing Yacht was one such example. The former Deckhand was mean to Ashley Marti and Gary King. He was also immature and had too much alcohol on the boat. Therefore, Captain Glenn Shephard fired Tom, ensuring his crew on Parsifal III remained peaceful and friendly.
Leon Walker from Below Deck season 3 was also unsuitable for his job. The private Chef joined the Bravo series to showcase his culinary skills. However, he messed up badly and never admitted his mistakes. One episode showed Leon starting a fire in the galley . He blamed the greasy pans for his error and kept lying until the end, pushing Captain Lee Rosbach to fire him. Unfortunately, not all bad crew members get sacked for their actions. Some get another chance to prove themselves. A few examples include Kyle Viljoen, Natalya Scudder, and Tumi Mhlongo.
20 Best Reality TV Shows Right Now
8 alissa humber, below deck season 10.
Stews are a crucial part of luxury yachts. They take care of the guests and ensure everyone is happy. Sadly, not all Stews are good at their jobs. Some, like Alissa Humber, are bad and don’t listen to their seniors. When Alissa debuted in the series , she portrayed herself as a skilled worker. However, it didn’t take long for Stew to show her true colors and become disrespectful towards her seniors. Apart from acting superior to others, Alissa argued with her co-star, Camille Lamb .
The drama between Alissa and Camille didn’t conclude quickly enough. The Captain and Chief Stew Fraser Olender got tired of both of them. At one point, Alissa even referred to Captain Sandy Yawn by her first name, which was unacceptable. Ultimately, the Captain had to let Camille and Alissa go due to their disrespectful behaviors. As per a Q&A session (via Bravo ), Fraser discussed the situation and let fans know his opinion of Alissa and Camille’s feud.
Fraser said, “I saw the fighting as quite childish.”
7 Raquel “Rocky” Dakota
Below deck season 3.
Raquel “Rocky” Dakota was also a disobedient worker. The Californian woman concluded the season without strikes but crossed the line numerous times. At one point, she stripped down and tried to board another yacht. On another occasion, she complained about her Chief Stew’s orders and her work. The rivalry between Rocky and her Chief Stew Kate Chastain didn’t end with the season. When the two ladies reunited at Watch What Happens Live , they made harsh comments about each other. Kate told Rocky she wasn’t “the best yachtie.”
Many viewers also despised Rocky a lot. Per a Reddit thread, kresbok , the junior Stew is “obnoxious,” “ridiculous, coddled,” and an attention seeker.
Someone wrote, “her work ethic had me begging Captain Lee to fire her,” adding that Rocky’s behavior is simply unacceptable.
Another Reddit user commented, “between Leon and Rocky, I think this was the season that broke Kate.” Fans are right to think that Below Deck season 3 was the toughest one for the former Chief Stew.
9 Below Deck Franchise Deckhands Who Came Off As Lazy
6 june foster, below deck mediterranean season 4.
June Foster never listened to her Chief Stew Hannah Ferrier or other seniors in Below Deck Mediterranean season 4. Captain Sandy hired her to replace Anastasia Surmava. However, she soon realized she had made a big mistake and fired her. June was never a good addition to the crew. On top of that, she had behavioral problems, which became evident when she got angry at Captain Sandy for letting her go. One of June’s worst habits was her lack of concern for Chief Stew’s orders .
During June’s stint on Below Deck , viewers noticed that she purposely chose not to answer Chief Stew, Hannah, on the radio . She ignored her and made new excuses for not responding to her. Hannah even took to X to share her opinion of June.
Hannah wrote, “‘maybe I can’t understand my name’ is by far my favorite excuse in 4 seasons of #belowdeckmed.”
The worst part about June’s careless attitude was that she didn’t see her fault. She simply wanted people to leave her alone.
5 Magda Ziomek
Below deck down under season 1 & 2.
Magda Ziomek from Below Deck Down Under season 1 was another bad stew who got herself fired. The Polish native was too occupied with having fun on the yacht to care about other things. She was also very busy texting her long-distance boyfriend rather than finishing tasks on the yacht. Magda was so terrible at her job that Aesha Scott went out of her way to fire her. The Chief Stew couldn’t handle her third Stew’s lack of concern for her duties like laundry and service.
Aesha had to fire Magda because keeping her in the boat hurt her reputation as the Chief Stew. Since she was responsible for managing all the Stews, the burden of all the complaints fell on her shoulders. In one instance, Captain Jason Chambers noticed how the laundry room was a mess . He later complained that Magda used most of the boat’s limited internet data. If Aesha had let Magda stay on the yacht, it wouldn’t have bode well for her.
What Happened To Captain Mark Howard After Below Deck Mediterranean Season 1?
4 elizabeth frankini, below deck season 8.
Elizabeth Frankini initially looked like a hardworking Stew. However, she showed her real personality during the episodes, which led Chief Stew Francesca Rubi to fire her. Elizabeth started treating her work too lightly. Apart from flirting with Deckhand, James Hough, she crossed the line by sleeping in the guest cabin on her night off. She didn’t seek permission from the Captain or ask Francesca beforehand. Chief Stew ultimately got fed up with Elizabeth’s lack of concern and told the Captain, “there are too many slip-ups. There’s just too many.”
Francesca wanted Captain Lee to fire Elizabeth , but that didn’t happen. Instead, the Captain allowed Chief Stew to make the call and give her full control over Elizabeth’s fate. Even though the season was nearing its end, Francesca chose to teach her Polish co-worker a lesson.
Francesca told Elizabeth, “I’ve come to sort of a decision. We’re gonna have to let you go.”
Unfortunately, Elizabeth didn’t learn her lesson. She appeared in the Below Deck season 8 reunion and called her former Chief Stew a “bully.”
3 Laura Bileskaline
Below deck down under season 2.
Laura Bileskaline had a short stint in Below Deck Down Under . Despite that, she became quite a controversial cast member after crossing a few lines. The Latvia resident was extremely inappropriate throughout her 7-episode run. She lacked respect for everyone and wanted to get lucky with Adam Kodra. Eventually, Laura did the unthinkable when she went into Deckhand’s cabin and massaged his back. This action led Captain Jason to fire her immediately.
Aesha also had a huge problem with Laura. Chief Stew revealed some spicy details from her unaired conversation with her junior a few months ago.
Aesha said (via L A Times ), “I did actually have a conversation with Laura about pulling back a bit [with Adam].”
Aesha also shared that she was shocked to see how far Laura pushed it . Unfortunately, Laura didn’t listen to Chief Stew’s advice, ultimately leading to her departure from Below Deck Down Under .
2 Camille Lamb
Camille Lamb’s personality impacted the whole crew. Her feud with Alissa is still among the wildest fights in Below Deck ’s history. The former Stew’s biggest issue was acting like a princess and coming across as self-centered. At one point in Below Deck season 10, she complained about her job and felt she was working twice as much as everyone else on the boat .
Camille was known for her lack of interest in being the Stew. She treated her job as if she was out to enjoy a cruise trip. She napped in the deck area and went swimming without care. Ultimately, Chief Stew Fraser had to fire her. While talking to ET , Fraser revealed he was “glad” that he let Camille go before it was too late.
Fraser added, “truth be told, she was just making everything harder.”
1 Lexi Wilson
Below deck mediterranean season 6.
Lexi Wilson had the energy to be a great Stew if she wanted to. Unfortunately, she dropped the ball by getting into fights and being irresponsible. At one point, the Bahamas native got drunk and ranted unnecessarily. She argued with everyone, including Deckhand Mzi “Zee” Dempers. Chief Stew Katie Flood later talked to Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live and revealed what happened on the boat.
Katie said (via US Weekly ), “if it goes any further I’m pretty sure Lexi would have been removed straight away.”
Malia White also shared that Lexi was even worse than the show’s edit made her look. She agreed with Chief Stew and said, “If anything, she was edited nicely that night. She was much worse.” Katie admitted that Lexi was truly a “satan” on the yacht and acknowledged that she had never met someone like her former Below Deck Stew.
Below Deck airs every Monday at 9 p.m. EDT on Bravo and streams the next day on Peacock.

The wellington yacht from below deck.
THE WELLINGTON truly named THE WELLESLEY, was the star of the TV show Below Deck Mediterranean. While she was always for charter, she was recently listed for sale by TWW Yachts with an original asking price of €14,500,000. Let’s take a look at the yacht that starred in the fifth season of the hit TV show.
Delivered to her original owner in 1993, the superyacht was the very first Oceanco superyacht to hit the water. She was transformed under the watchful eyes of TWW and the owner’s team in 2015 at Sunrise Yachts. She was extended to see a beach club being fitted on the aft and now features Donald Starkey-penned interiors that mirror the eponymous London hotel.
Every detail on board the superyacht is connected to the hotel, from the 1920’s styling to the Arabescato Corchia marble, the Hermes amenities and the Churchill lounge. The owner’s passion for cigars is evident in the upper salon, which features a bespoke humidor housing an exclusive selection of cigars.
The yacht accommodates up to 12 guests in 5 luxurious staterooms, with the master suite being housed on the upper deck. The sundeck is dedicated to exterior living with an astonishing on deck spa facing forward.
She is currently available for sale & charter with David Westwood .

Four Seasons Unveils First Yacht Itineraries and Suite Interiors

Four Seasons loyalists have a lot to be excited about, with the launch of the brand’s first yacht nearing in 2026.
The 14-deck luxury vessel, which is partly being modeled off of Aristotle Onassis’ iconic yacht Christina O , will offer some of the most opulent amenities at sea. Initial renderings released in October 2023 show a 66-foot saltwater pool, a marina deck built for swimming and watersports, sophisticated dining concepts, and 95 guest suites. Now, the Four Seasons has released the first renderings showcasing the spacious suites on board—and we got a first look.
The ship's sleek design seeks to translate “the Four Seasons guest experience in terms of comfort level and the luxury standards" to life at sea, Fredrik Johannson, partner and executive director of Tillberg Design of Sweden and the lead designer on the Four Seasons Yacht, tells Condé Nast Traveler. Even the hotel group’s beloved mattresses will be offered in every room.
The first renderings of the Four Season Yacht's suites were released Tuesday, showcasing spacious guest rooms with ocean views.
Also just revealed: the first destinations the yacht will call upon throughout its inaugural year. Passengers can expect to visit a wide variety of exclusive and jet-setting locales, as the yacht is slated to visit more than 130 destinations across 30 countries in its first year alone. And of course, guests will have the option to book pre-and-post cruise extensions at iconic Four Seasons resorts along the way.
“We’re incredibly proud to announce the first itineraries aboard Four Seasons Yachts, and know that these experiences will exceed our guest expectations when we set sail in 2026,” says Alejandro Reynal, Four Seasons President and CEO.
Each voyage calls upon small ports that are typically considered “yacht playgrounds," Thatcher Brown, the Chief Commercial Officer at Marc-Henry Cruise Holdings LTD and co-owner of Four Seasons Yachts, tells Traveler. Passengers can expect to sail between Caribbean and Mediterranean coastal havens almost exclusively visited by private vessels .
When the yacht launches in January 2026, it will first head to the Caribbean, where it will complete seven-night, island-hopping itineraries between St. Barths, Nevis, the Grenadines, St Lucia, Barbados, Martinique, Guadeloupe, Curaçao, and Aruba.
Then in March 2026, the ship will cross the Atlantic and begin sailing its Grand Mediterranean voyages , which include visits to alluring towns in Croatia, Gibraltar, Montenegro, Italy, Portugal, Spain, and Turkey. Travelers can also expect to access “under-the-radar” Greek islands , like Ios and Milos, as well as more popular Grecian destinations like Athens and Santorini, according to a Four Seasons release.
Guests will have the option to adjoin suites to accommodate families or other groups traveling together.
Sure the destinations sound glamorous—but it might be difficult for passengers to depart the ship and leave behind the luxe accommodations on board. Specifically the guest suites—which will offer 50% more living space per guest than any other competitor currently at sea, according to the company’s release.
Each space will offer floor-to-ceiling windows framing views of the sea, bathrooms with double vanities, and large closets. “Almost every single bed on this whole yacht is facing the sea,” Johannson says. “All the rooms there have this clarity to them. They are very exclusive, but they have a beautiful simplicity.”
Every suite will also offer private outdoor terraces. What’s more: guests will have the option to adjoin suites to accommodate families or other groups traveling together. There are more than 100 different adjoining configurations, including the option to reserve the entire side of a deck—an opportunity that would afford a group of travel companions more than 13,000 square feet of living space.
The Four Seasons Yacht will be divided between Funnel and Loft Suites, each with private outdoor terraces.
But the true showstopper on board is sure to be the Funnel Suite. Located on the very top deck where the funnel or smokestack would traditionally be, the Funnel Suite is essentially the ship’s penthouse, spanning four floors and 9,975 square feet. The massive space will feature three bedrooms and a terrace with outdoor dining space, splash pool, and outdoor showers. But the suite’s best amenity will be its views. The four-story, floor-to-ceiling windows have been fitted with the largest piece of contiguous curved glass at sea, offering sweeping 280-degree views of the ocean as the yacht sails from port to port.
Voyages on board the Four Seasons yacht haven’t yet opened for general booking, but interested travelers can join the yacht’s waitlist in hopes of securing one of the elegant suites on the 2026 itineraries.

Luxury rules at the moscow yacht show.
by Maria Sapozhnikova
The windy Russian autumn weather might be a little bit tricky for sailing, but it doesn’t stop brave yachtsmen from all over the world from flocking to Russian capital in the beginning of September when the Moscow Yacht Show commences. The main Russian Yacht exhibition gathers professional and amateur yacht lovers together under the wing of The Royal Yacht Club.
This year it took place for a fourth time already. The exhibition is considered the principal event on the sporting and social calendar. The Moscow Yacht Show 2010 united in one area three of the largest Russian yachts distributors: Ultramarine, Nordmarine and Premium Yachts.
A wide range of yachts were on display for a week. An exhibition showcased yachts both from Russian manufacturers and world famous brands: Azimut, Princess, Ferretti, Pershing, Riviera, Doral, Linssen, etc.
It was a real feast for seafarers as visitors of the show had a unique chance not only to take a look at the newest superyachts before they hit the market, but also to evaluate their driving advantages during the test drive. The show provided an excellent opportunity for yacht enthusiasts to choose and buy a new boat for the next season.
The event started with the grandiose gala evening. It included grand dinner, the concert and professional awards ceremony for achievements in Russian yachting industry. The guests also enjoyed the annual regatta.
Special guest Paolo Vitelli, Azimut Benetti Group president, opened the evening.
Next year organizers assured guests they would bring more yachts, the scale of which will even make oligarch Roman Abramovich envious. Sounds very promising indeed.

Victor Wembanyama becomes first rookie with 40-20 game since Shaq as Spurs outlast Knicks and Jalen Brunson
Wembanyama outshined a 61-point performance from jalen brunson.
Victor Wembanyama has proven time and time again that his basketball potential knows no bounds, and yet some of the things he does still leave us with our jaws on the floor. That was the case on Friday night, when the 7-foot-4 rookie put up an ungodly stat line of 40 points, 20 rebounds and seven assists in the San Antonio Spurs ' 130-126 overtime win over the New York Knicks . The point total was a career-high for last June's No. 1 overall pick.
Wembanyama went 13-for-22 from the field, including 4-of-9 from 3-point range and 10-for-12 from the free throw line as he led the Spurs to victory in front of his home fans. He became the first rookie to put up 40 points and 20 rebounds in a game since Shaquille O'Neal over 30 years ago, and the first player in Spurs history to log a 40-point, 20-rebound, five-assist game.
"These efforts, these results, we wouldn't have gotten them at the start of the year," Wembanyama said as he addressed the Frost Bank Center crowd after the game. "Seventy games into the season, I still see this place packed every night. Love you guys. Love the support. Go Spurs go!"
"Love you guys! Love the support! GO SPURS GO!!!" @wemby address the crowd after the Spurs win! #PorVida | @Spurs | @BallySports 📺 pic.twitter.com/glevRiJXVP — Bally Sports San Antonio (@BallySportsSA) March 30, 2024
These weren't empty calories stats, either, as Wembanyama went toe-to-toe with Knicks guard Jalen Brunson , who scored a career-high 61 points -- one off Carmelo Anthony's franchise record of 62. The Spurs rookie came up with clutch play after clutch play, none bigger than this dagger 3-pointer to put his team ahead for good with just over a minute left in overtime.
WEMBY CLUTCH 3 FOR 40 ‼️ A new career high for the rookie 👏 Knicks-Spurs | Live on the NBA App 📲 https://t.co/XQAjh3HuFW pic.twitter.com/iISuhLhbNj — NBA (@NBA) March 30, 2024
The Spurs began the season on pace to become one of the worst teams of all time, lowlighted by a stretch of 18 straight losses. They have turned things around of late, however, winning seven of their last 15 games. Wembanyama has been essential to their improvement, as he's become the clear Rookie of the Year favorite. He's shot poorly recently, but over a 25-game stretch from January to March, Wembanyama averaged 23 points, 11 rebounds, four assists and four blocks on 49/39/81 shooting splits. It's notable that four of the five highest-scoring games of his career have resulted in wins.
The way that the Spurs have closed the season raises questions about how they'll operate with their cap space this summer. The initial plan seemed to be to bring Wembanyama along slowly, but the 20-year-old phenom could enter next season with the potential to be the best player on a championship team. If he's been able to string together a handful of wins with the roster around him right now, imagine what he could do with some proven veterans at his side. It will certainly be something to monitor this summer when free agency begins.
"I've just witnessed so much greatness, and I want to be a part of it," Wembanyama said. "I always wanted to, but more and more, I'm seeing that I'm already able to compete with those guys. I'm not there, but I'm on the right path. I know it, and I'm gonna get there one day soon."

Mets owner Steve Cohen says he’ll be disappointed if team misses playoffs

NEW YORK (AP) — Expectations are lower for the New York Mets entering this season. But owner Steve Cohen still has a specific achievement in mind.
“I think the goal is to make the playoffs. Pretty simple. Let’s not overthink this,” Cohen said Friday. “If we don’t make the playoffs, obviously I’d be disappointed.”
Wearing a Mets cap and jacket, Cohen held a news conference at Citi Field a couple of hours before the Mets lost 3-1 to the Milwaukee Brewers in an opener pushed back a day because of rain.
New York is coming off an expensive flop in 2023, when the team began the year with World Series aspirations following a 101-win season and a playoff appearance the year before.
Despite the highest payroll in baseball history (about $355 million on opening day), the Mets finished fourth in the NL East at 75-87. After the season, they paid a record luxury tax of nearly $101 million.
The team traded star pitchers Max Scherzer and Justin Verlander and several other veterans for minor league prospects ahead of the deadline in early August, with the Mets saying they were pointing toward 2025 while still looking to compete in 2024.
“I don’t view it as a reset,” Cohen said Friday. “I would call it we’re transitioning and yet still being highly competitive. And I think that’s a hard thing to do. You know, based on what I see on the roster, I think we’ve accomplished that.”
Under new president of baseball operations David Stearns, the Mets bulked up their bullpen this offseason and improved the defense with lower-profile moves. Then they made a splash late in spring training, signing veteran slugger J.D. Martinez to a $12 million, one-year contract.
Cohen acknowledged first baseman Pete Alonso was eager for more protection in the lineup heading into his final season before free agency.
“There were some money constraints, right? I mean, at some point everyone’s got a budget. But generally I’m really pleased at what we’ve created,” Cohen said. “I think we’ve built a club that’s going to be there in September.”
“Spending $375 million (in luxury tax payroll) like we did last year seemed a little bit over the top,” he added. “I’m not afraid to spend money, but I just don’t want to be just spending money for the sake of — I want this organization to be run efficiently. I want it to be run professionally.”
Cohen also was asked about Major League Baseball’s investigation of the club. Last month, former Mets general manager Billy Eppler was suspended through the 2024 World Series by Commissioner Rob Manfred, who concluded Eppler directed team staff to fabricate injuries to create open roster spots.
Eppler resigned from the Mets last October amid the probe.
“Obviously, it was unfortunate, and they made that conclusion. Listen, I’m glad that we caught it in time,” Cohen said. “Obviously, we want to do things in the right way here, we want to carry ourselves with integrity. And frankly, I don’t think it was — I think the competitive juices come out in baseball, and sometimes maybe in that case, in my view, it was over the line. And certainly not the way we want to operate.”
Now, with Stearns and rookie manager Carlos Mendoza on board, Cohen said he anticipates “a lot less turnover” in decision-making positions.
“In any business, you don’t want a lot of change. It’s just disruptive to the organization,” Cohen said. “So, I think we’ve got the right people in place.”
On his fourth opening day as Mets owner, Cohen said he remains pretty popular with fans when he sees them around the ballpark.
“They’re still pretty supportive. I’m waiting for that to run out. We’ve got to win at some point,” he said. “Listen, I think the goal is to make the playoffs and be there year in and year out, and I think we’re going to over time accomplish that. I think what we’re building here is something that’s sustainable.”
