The History of Holland Jachtbouw and Yachting

In the early 1990s, Holland Jachtbouw opened its doors. Utilizing traditional methods based around the shipbuilding heritage of the area of Zaandam, the shipyard began producing Dutch lemsteanken (flat-bottom boats). However, Holland Jachtbouw began producing boats that enticed the luxury yachting market — the first of these was the 16.5-meter VLIEGENT HEART, which was conceived by Hoek Design, a superyacht design firm. From there Holland Jachtbouw expanded its repertoire, building everything from luxury motor yachts to classic J-Class sailing yachts and beyond.

Holland Jachtbouw is a quality custom superyacht builder which build both sailing yachts and motor yachts in the Netherlands. Holland Jachtbouw (HJB) also refits sailing and motoryachts of the highest calibre. The yachting company was established back in 1990 and is located at the heart of the Dutch yacht building industry close to Amsterdam - just 15 minutes from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport by car.

The shipyard’s 6 metre deepwater location allows yachts to be commissioned right next to the facility. The location is also convenient in having direct access to the North Sea, meaning Holland Jachtbouw yachts can go out for a sea trial in the morning and return the same day.

Holland Jachtbouw’s new and modern production facilities include a state-of-the-art construction hall and a three-story workshop. This large capacity means we are able to economically and efficiently build yachts of up to 65 metres in length. Thanks to a maximum of flexibility in the hall’s design, up to six projects can be simultaneously undertaken: Three builds inside the hall with three other yachts in the preparation stage. The use of the World Class Manufacturing methodology ensures a smooth process at all times.

Dutch Domination: Dutch Yacht Builders Continue to Excel

Dutch yacht builders are a dominant force in the luxury yachting industry, with a large number of premier shipyards building spectacular custom and semi-custom superyachts in the Netherlands.

Dutch boat builders have consolidated a rich maritime tradition of boat-building, making a seamless transition from centuries of naval and commercial ship-building to constructing some of the finest luxury yachts on the planet for an elite clientele. Holland’s shipyards have become known for constructing high-tech, ultra-engineered superyachts, with a strong streak of innovation earning Dutch-built yachts a string of international superyacht awards.

Working with some of the finest naval architects, interior designers and craftsmen on earth, Dutch yards have created a superb reputation for quality, as long-established shipyards such as Feadship, Hakvoort and Amels have been joined by the latest generation of cutting-edge yacht builders including Heesen and Oceanco.

In recent years, Dutch yacht builders have banded together to represent the country’s yacht-building experience at major international events such as the Monaco Yacht Show and FLIBS, where they have Dutch pavilions and launch their latest yachts and designs on their global debuts.

Below are some of the Dutch boat builders with a superb international reputation

Feadship is the partnership between two heritage Dutch shipyards, De Vries and Royal Van Lent, which have been building quality yachts since 1849. The Feadship superyacht fleet now numbers over 450, with a range of spectacular fully-custom yachts including the 50m M/Y BROADWATER for sale and the incredible 81m Mediterranean charter yacht, M/Y AIR.

Established in 1918, Amels is a powerhouse of Northern European yacht building, creating both custom and limited edition series superyachts, as well as an industry-leading range of DAMEN support yachts. Magnificent Amels yachts currently on the market include M/Y LA FAMILIA, a 55m black hulled superyacht with beach club and helipad, while charterers can enjoy the supremely popular 52m M/Y LADY NAG NAG .

Hakvoort is another richly pedigreed superyacht builder in Holland, with a history dating back to 1919. Constructing semi-custom and custom motor and sailing yachts, Hakvoort made its name in the superyacht world with iconic yachts such as the 50m M/Y Lady M II, which won awards upon launch and is available for charter in the Bahamas and Caribbean.

Heesen joined the Dutch yachting fraternity with a big splash in 1979, rapidly becoming known for its sleek and sporty custom-built superyachts. Gaining international acclaim for ground-breaking superyachts like M/Y GALACTICA STAR, Heesen yachts for sale include the magnificent 55m M/Y QUITE ESSENTIAL with pool and wellness spa, as well as the ultra-sophisticated 46m M/Y BOOKENDS.

Oceanco is a major force in the large yacht market, now building unique custom superyachts over 80m in length. The 75m M/Y WHEELS is a fantastic example of the Oceanco brand, with her seven decks of luxury living, including a split-level master suite with mezzanine and a cinema. Mulder is a family owned shipyard with roots stretching back to 1938, and builds exemplary custom and semi-custom motor yachts up to 45m in length. Another standout Dutch yacht builder is Van der Valk , a high-quality shipyard in operation since 1967 and specialising in semi-custom explorer, expedition and flybridge yachts. M/Y Cassiopeia

About cassiopeia.

Cassiopeia , completed and launched in 2004 in Zaandam, represents the highest quality craftsmanship and engineering throughout, by Holland Jachtbouw and partners. This modern classic 32-metre-long motor yacht is the perfect accommodation for family holidays.

The American Langan Design Associates is responsible for both the exterior (Bill Langan) and the interior (Candace Langan) of Cassiopeia . They would later also design Cassiopeia’s successor Calliope (2010) for the same owner. Her classic and elegant lines give her a majestic look, even though she glides comfortably through the water at a cruising speed of 17 knots, thanks to innovative engineering.

Cassiopeia proved to be a superyacht in every way, while cruising remote locations around the world. She is still an example of what can be achieved when the capabilities of a motor yacht are combined with the style and attention to detail that are usually reserved for sailing yachts. In 2014 Cassiopeia was refitted, to maintain her external beauty and technological delights.

The tasteful, predominantly teak interior of this exclusive Gentleman’s Yacht contains a perfectly balanced combination of traditional styles with modern details. The main salon and other rooms have large windows, which provide plenty of light, as well as panoramic views. The homely atmosphere in the main salon is due to its comfortable armchairs, sofas and a large separate dining area.

Cassiopeia can accommodate up to seven guests, spread over a master suite, VIP suite and a twin cabin with an additional Pullman. All cabins have en suite bathrooms. In addition, she offers space for five crew members.

Cassiopeia is equipped with two MTU 16V 2000 M90 engines, which deliver a combined power of 3600 hp (2650 kW). She is powered by twin screw propellers. Her cruising speed is 17 knots and she achieves a maximum speed of 24 knots.

She has a semi-displacement aluminium hull and superstructure, is built to American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) regulations and meets all MCA standards. Furthermore, she is equipped with a state-of-the-art stabilization system from NAIAD Dynamics, which reduces the roll motion effect and results in a smooth, pleasant boating experience. The Stabilization AtRest System prevents Cassiopeia from rolling when anchored. When swell is detected, sensors send a calibrated signal to the electro-hydraulic servo valves, causing the fins to rotate immediately. This generates significant force and suppresses the boat’s tendency to roll. As a result, the comfort for all her guests remains optimal under all circumstances.

This family-friendly superyacht features state-of-the-art entertainment and communication systems. On top of that, she is abundantly equipped with a wide range of water sports equipment to keep her guests entertained.

Skipper READ LISTING DISCLAIMER

Skipper was built by a top Dutch yard HYB and plans and work list were executed to the very last detail.

She is the ideal boat for long distance cruising with plenty of redundancy and fuel is plenty on board to cross the Atlantic on her engine. Skipper's original owner built her to be a strong yacht for circumnavigation that is capable of being sailed by a small crew. Despite her 100-foot size, Skipper is capable of being sailed by only two people. She still has on board her original crew who have been very dedicated to keep her perfectly maintained at all times. The exterior of Skipper has a classic contemporary aesthetic. The cockpit offers two helm stations with all sail controls and good views of the boat over and along the deckhouse. Andre Hoek made sure that the helmsman was able to see the bow cut the waves at all times. Forward of the helm stations there is ample seating on both sides with fantastic protection from the fixed Bimini and the deckhouse. The aft deck is uncluttered and offers access to the lazarette from the deck as well as from the aft swim platform that opens up hydraulic.

Accommodation

It also was an important specification that the interior be drawn up so that all areas could comfortably accommodate many people. Skipper offers an exceptional amount of space that’s to her large width. She has two salons connected to the galley; this can be closed off, if requested. Skipper’s interior has a classic Dutch style with perfect Dutch teak woodwork. Ideally suited as family cruiser, Skipper has three staterooms to accommodate up to six guests. The owner’s suite is full beam with a luxurious en-suite bathroom. Two twin guest cabins are located forward of the master.

The Schiffart Yachtcharter is a full-service yacht charter company in Terherne on the Sneekermeer. A great location at the heart of the Frisian lake region. Our family business contains a yacht wharf, yacht rental company, yacht marina and a water sports shop. We have built up a very varied fleet over the years, meaning there is a suitable boat for every type of water sports enthusiasts. This fleet includes; sturdy compact cabin motorboats ( Doerakken , Brûzers ), modern cruisers , boats with spacious open cabin , royal class cutter yachts , luxurious Super Lauwersmeers and spacious 2+2 yachts .

Terherne is a fantastic boat departure point as a result of its central location in the Friesian waters, on the Sneekermeer and near Sneek.

No boating license required

You will not need a boating licence for our boats. It goes without saying everyone going out on our boats will be given a full technical explanation before departure.

A harbour with plenty of extras

The harbour boasts some excellent sanitary facilities, power and water at the jetties and parking spaces for tenants on our own private site, right next to the harbour.

Non-stop-service

Our yachts are all in top condition. However, should you experience any problems whilst you are on the water: no problem at all, our technical service staff will be with you in a flash!

Rent a motorboat for 2 to 8 people

2-4 persons.

For someone who is new to watersporting, the Doerak is an ideal motorboat for cruising in Friesland. But the Doerak is also a suitable motorboat for more experienced skippers. The boat is compact, but thanks to its form it is spacious inside. Each Doerak has a bow thruster, which means they are very easy to manoeuvre!

2-5 persons

The Brûzer is a robust motorboat with classic lines, which is easy to sail. With its unique form the boat offers a lot of space inside, while remaining compact. This means that this motorboat offers the possibility of many cruising routes and you can discover all of Friesland's waterways!

The Kruiser

2-8 persons.

Experience a marvellous holiday on the water with a number of people. Our modern cruisers offer plenty of space, luxury and steering comfort. The perfect motorboat for 2-8 people. The Kruiser is a great boat for discovering Friesland in company!

Luxury open cockpit boats

Prefer a slightly more special motoryacht? Then a luxury motorboat with an open cockpit is a great choice. Suitable for 2-4 persons and just a bit different from the average rental boat. A cruising holiday becomes even more fun and relaxing with one of these motorboats!

The Kotter-Yacht

Rent a motoryacht with all the family, or even 2 families. This yacht has a very spacious interior, and the space is cleverly allocated to offer plenty of privacy, generous fixed berths and a shower and toilet both fore and aft. Cruise Friesland in style!

2+2 motoryachts

4-6 persons.

When we talk about a 2+2 motoryacht we mean, two completely equal cabins. Namely, two bathrooms (with toilet and shower) and two spacious bedrooms, each with a generous double bed. These luxury yachts are particularly suitable for two couples.

• Luxury motorboats

The luxury motorboats are for those who want to enjoy cruising, but want to do so with every convenience you can get into a boat. For example, central heating, double glazing, bow and stern thrusters, generous beds and bathrooms, and of course an attractive design!

Where can I cruise to with my motorboat?

Cruising on a motorboat is naturally not as fast as driving a car. This can sometimes make it difficult to judge distances. From our marina in Terherne via the Sneekermeer to Sneek takes approximately 1 hour. The cruising area that is permitted with our ships is: Friesland (Sailing is only permitted on the IJsselmeer for ships longer than 12 metres and equipped with an IJsselmeer package), Overijssel, Groningen and Drenthe.

Prachtige wintertrip Vanzelfsprekend werkte alles naar behoren aan boord. Alles was keurig schoon en de inventaris voorzag in alles voor deze geslaagde midweek. De Iris is ruim bemeten voor twee personen, vaart koerstabiel en is makkelijk te manoeuvreren met haar boeg en hekschroef. Heerlijk gevaren Boot was van alle gemakken voorzien voor een heerlijke vaartocht. Keuken goed uitgerust, koken ging prima. Daarnaast is de boegschroef is een welkome aanvulling om het manoeuvreren makkelijker te maken. Ook het zeil over de stuurhut werkt erg fijn en kan je in delen los of vast maken, afhankelijk van het weer. Na lang varen wordt het motorgeluid wel eentonig, maar dan kan je altijd even vastleggen of dobberen op het water. 5,0 Sebastiaan

Moscow/Zelenograd and New Moscow

Zelenograd and New Moscow are two large parts of Moscow city, that lie (often far) outside consolidated residential zone of the city, which lies within and just beyond the MKAD (Moscow Ring Road).

Zelenograd was added in Moscow in 1968 as one of the leading scientific centers. New Moscow was added to Moscow in 2012, forming Novomoskovky and Troitskiy Administrativniy Okrugs with plans of new vast expansion. New Moscow territory is yet to change according to its new city status. Even though suburbial kind construction intensifies in Novomoskovsky Administrativniy Okrug, Troitskiy Administrativniy Okrug still mostly has a rural feel.

By plane [ edit ]

Vnukovo and Ostafyevo airports are situated in New Moscow proper, though from Ostafyevo airport you still have to go through the "old" Moscow. It is possible to get from Sheremetyevo to Zelenograd without going to the old city - you have to change to 400 minibus on Leningrad highway or on local train on Planernaya. From Domodedovo airport you'll have to go through the old city anyway (the route through Domodedovo and Podolsk will take more time).

By train [ edit ]

Local trains connect Zelenograd with Leningrad Train Station, Tver, Klin and Konakovo. Local trains from Kiev Train Station pass through northern part of New Moscow between Novoperedelkino and Krekshino. To go to Zosimova Pustyn you may want to go all the way to Bekasovo, but trains there are infrequent. It is possible to get to New Moscow through Podolsk, but you'll have to change to bus there.

By bus [ edit ]

Most frequent bus to Zelenograd is bus 400 from Rechnoi Vokzal. It has special pricing. Buses are primary way of public transport to get to New Moscow, new buses are often added. Most buses start from Yugo-Zapadnaya and Tepliy Stan metroes, and Podolsk train station. Troitsk serves as a bus hub.

By car [ edit ]

Zelenograd is accessible by M10 highway. Major highways in New Moscow are M3, A101, Warsaw highway Podolsk - Kresty (joining with A101), first "Beton Ring" A107 and Borovsk highway Peredelkino - Vnukovo - to join with M3. M10 and A101 are often highly congested, M3 may be less prone to it, except Moscow vicinity, and crossing with A107, A107 is congested near M3 crossing, which is northwest of New Moscow; Warsaw highway is congested in Podolsk, and you'll have to pass congested M2 to get there from MKAD.
