If you’re going for the ultimate deep-sea fantasy, you could choose from a wide variety of personal subs . But when you tire of the limitations of single-passenger submersibles, it’s probably time to choose a luxury submarine worthy of a James Bond movie. Austrian company Migaloo calls its 443-foot M5 a “private submersible yacht,” mainly because it truly is an underwater superyacht .

Imagine dining, lounging, or cocktailing in a full-glass room surrounded by deep-blue ocean and hundreds of fish, taking an under-the-sea spin on the M5’s two mini-subs, or using the outdoor pool/Jacuzzi and beach club while the M5 is floating on the surface.

This James Bond dream boat also includes a helipad, a garage for tenders and toys, a cinema room, gym, spa, wine cellar, library, several bars with windows to the sea, and, of course, a game room. The ultimate submarine can be designed to any owner’s specific tastes. One configuration has a 32,300-square-foot owner’s apartment on three decks, all connected by an elevator, with a private exterior balcony. There are also six VIP guest staterooms.

The hull will have an acrylic pressure hull design—built to U.S. Navy submarine standards—with multiple MTU generators and lithium batteries. Migaloo says the construction techniques and materials will make the M5 safe and spacious, accommodating two owners and 12 guests, with 19 crew, for a total of 32 people. Guests can leave their Dramamine and Sea-Bands behind. Because this private submersible yacht runs beneath the water’s surface, motion sickness is not an issue. And the Migaloo M5 is capable of staying submerged for several weeks. Hopefully you are, too. Oh, wait, the M5 is not big enough for you? Migaloo’s M7 extends to 928 feet.

An Austrian company is developing a huge, submersible luxury superyacht that can stay under water for four weeks — but it’ll set you back $3 billion.

The Migaloo M5, developed by Migaloo, will be a 541-foot-long submersible that can hold 20 passengers and 40 crew members and dive to a depth of 250 metres, per Air Mail .

It comes with two six-person mini submarines for more underwater adventures, as well as a helipad and room for jet skis.

The 36-seat dining room has glass walls to watch the sea life drift by and optional extras like a swimming pool, wine cellar or cinema can be added.

But the luxury vessel will cost interested buyers about A$3 billion to build, and that’s without the extras.

Migaloo CEO and founder Christian Gumpold said the company’s target market was “visionary billionaires with or without existing superyacht experience who have extraordinary demands for exclusivity, safety, adventure”.

Mr Gumpold has been touting the idea of luxury submersibles as the “future of yachting” for the past decade, but so far hasn’t had any takers.

This time, though, he said Migaloo was “in negotiations with a number of interested parties from all over the world who are motivated to own the world’s first superyacht-submarine hybrid.”

“As it is a completely new development, such a project will require corresponding monetary resources, take a lot of time for design, construction and building and demand many decisions,” he told The Times .

“However, the owner also receives the corresponding prestige and unimagined new possibilities when calling this product his own. Our target group must be aware of this and have the corresponding innovative mindset.”

Migaloo M5’s safety features will likely be under scrutiny after the Titan sub imploded at 3500 metres below sea level with billionaires on board last year.

Migaloo might be Australia’s most famous humpback whale, but it’s also a company specialized in developing private submersible yachts that could easily show up in the next James Bond movies. The Migaloo M5 is the company’s latest project, an extraordinary 443-foot concept that’s basically an underwater superyacht.

If you’ve always dreamed about the ultimate deep-sea fantasy, this is definitely the right way to go.

Imagine dining, lounging or enjoying a few cocktails with your friends in a full-glass room, as you’re surrounded by hundreds of fish and deep blue waters. You could even go for a quick spin under-the-sea using the yacht’s two mini-subs, or enjoy the outdoor pool and jacuzzi, or the beach club, while the M5 is floating on the surface. But wait, that’s not all!

This James Bond-worthy superyacht has been also equipped with a helipad, a spacious garage for tenders and toys, and many luxurious amenities on board, like a cinema room, a small gym, spa, wine cellar, a charming library, a few bars with multiple windows facing the sea, and even a game room .

Fully customizable to the owner’s specific tastes, the M5 could feature a lavish 32,300-square-foot owner’s apartment, spreading on three decks, with a private exterior balcony, and several VIP guest staterooms. The yacht will be built to U.S. Navy submarine standards, packing multiple MTU generators and lithium batteries, and it’s able to accommodate two owners and 12 guests, while a crew of 19 will cater to all their needs.

Live Like a Bond Villain on the World’s Largest Submersible Super Yacht

When you have Jeff Bezos money and James Bond villain swagger, you need your super yacht to have that little something extra that sets it apart. Like something out of a childhood fantasy, Migaloo is a completely customizable yacht that also happens to be a submarine.

The brainchild of Motion Code: Blue , an Austrian company specializing in luxury yacht concept design, the Migaloos are available from 236 feet up to a staggering 928 feet long. To get an idea of just how long that is, it’s the equivalent of three Statue of Liberties stacked on top of each other.

These yachts are inspired by the Navy’s Zumwalt-class destroyers, so not only are that super luxurious, they’re totally badass. If The Poseidon Adventure taught us anything, it’s that life on the high seas isn’t always smooth sailing. That’s when Migaloo dives deep, avoiding the rough waters above and providing you with a comfortable, climate-controlled living environment (and zero chance of your ship flipping upside down in a storm). Using the specifications for the Navy’s Virginia-class attack subs as a jumping off point for the design, Motion Code: Blue claims their submarine yachts can stay submerged for several weeks.

Having trouble deciding how to trick out your super yacht? Migaloo is available in four pre-designed options, starting with the “small” M2, which is 72 meters long, and going all the way up to the behemoth M7 that can be built to 283 meters, making it the world’s largest submersible super-yacht.

Each style includes luxury features worthy of that supervillian life , allowing you and three dozen of your closest friends to party at sea indefinitely. Migaloo yachts have it all: swimming pools, helipads, underwater viewing galleries for spotting sea life, movie rooms, and plenty of bars sprinkled throughout. If you can dream it, your Migaloo yacht probably comes with it. And don’t worry about where to store all of your ocean-exploring toys. Each yacht has dry hangars and wet garages that can hold everything from jet skis to mini subs.

These yachts are still just a concept; no one has stepped up to actually buy one yet. But that hasn’t stopped us from fantasizing about how incredible it would be to own one. And while you’re at it, you might as well order the matching private floating island, which comes decked out with palm trees, a beach, underwater dining room, and of course a shark feeding station, because why not.

Migaloo is the famous albino humpback that is occasionally spotted passing through Byron Bay, but Migaloo is also a design and superyacht company that boasts of offering  “private submersible superyachts, innovative superyachts & floating islands [that] are the world’s most exclusive products.”

Migaloo, founded by Austrian Christian Gumpold, claims to be the future of luxury yachting and, perhaps more to the point, of being able to offer the world’s multi-millionaires and billionaires that ever-elusive sense of privacy they must feel their superyachts can no longer deliver. In reality, Migaloo offers concepts, ideas, renders and, as of recently, NFTs. Vaporware, you might call it.

Be that as it may, one thing you can’t fault Migaloo for is the ability to dream big. Really big. As big as the Migaloo M7 private submersible superyacht introduced a few years ago, which remains the world’s largest (submersible) superyacht design and the most expensive privately-owned asset. Both honors are still on paper, so here’s to hoping you’re in the mood for an outrageous (rich person’s) dream.

Just so we’re clear, not a single submersible superyacht from the M-Series from Migaloo exists beyond the digital realm. The closest you can come to owning any of the various-size superyachts that are also submarines is if you buy an NFT (non-fungible token) of it. You’d still not be able to go anywhere with it, it goes without saying.

The M7 is the biggest and fanciest in the series, a 283-meter (930-foot) monster of a vessel that’s meant to offer the best of everything. It’s can travel at a speed of 32 knots (36.8 mph / 60 kph) when on the surface, or a brisk 21 knots (24 mph / 39 kph) underwater. It can go as deep as 457 meters (1,500 feet), and has a design inspired by modern Zumwalt-class destroyers, but infused with the classic styling of modern superyachts.

Designed for the billionaire for whom a multi-million megayacht is too basic and for whom the desire for privacy trumps even financial common sense, the M7 offers accommodation for 12 guests across eight VIP suites, and a crew of 25 in separate quarters. The owner’s suite sits on a private deck and offers a total of 2,100 square meters (22,604 square feet) of living area, appointed luxuriously.

Amenities on board include spa and wellness area, fully-equipped gym, cinema, dining rooms, bars, lounges and underwater viewing rooms, as well as a helicopter hangar, jacuzzis and pool, and an entire hoard of water and underwater toys packed inside six dry hangars. This is very much a cliché, but as far as amenities go, if you can think it, it’s on board the M7. Moreover, the owner gets the final say in terms of design, features and the final layout, so that the resulting vessel will be truly a one-off.

“Owners are looking for privacy, security and protection for themselves, their guests and their valuables, or for the fulfillment of unique experiences up to scientific desires as well as for the greatest possible exclusivity and limitation,”  Gumpold says. It should come in an exclusive package.

When sailing above the water surface, the M7 acts very much like a megayacht, opening up to offer alfresco entertainment areas and quick access to water. The vessel shutters for underwater mode, with the hull built to U.S. Navy SUBSAFE safety standards. Speaking of safety, Gumpold told  Bloomberg  back in 2017 that every safety feature imaginable would be included. This apparently includes 12 surface-to-air missiles and 12 MU90 antitorpedo – we live in very dangerous times. Propulsion would be hybrid diesel-electric.
