This is the Dynasty, the first megayacht to overwinter at Malaga's marina for luxury craft

The vessel is valued at an eye-watering 200 million dollars and it will be docked in the city until spring 2024, while it undergoes maintenance.

It's name is I Dynasty and it is a 101-metre superyacht that has just anchored at the Port of Malaga and will remain there for the whole winter.

It's the first luxury vessel scheduled to spend the cooler months in the Marqués de Guadiaro basin, the reformed area in the city port for luxury craft and megayachts. The marina was designed and built several years ago to receive large vessels and provide them with the necessary services during the low season, such as high-power electrical connections.

The I Dynasty, with a crew of 30, is scheduled to remain in Malaga throughout the autumn and winter, until the spring of 2024, according to port sources.

Business opportunities

The megayacht will undergo maintenance throughout the winter, for which the concessionaire of the marina, IGY Málaga Marina, is looking for various suppliers in the province which specialise in various technical tasks.

Maintenance required may include sanding, hull painting, welding, electrical, mechanics, carpentry and plumbing. IGY Málaga Marina is creating a database of interested companies, for which they ask anyone interested to contact them directly.

The I Dynasty is a modern megayacht built in 2015 on behalf of Alijan Ibragimov, a billionaire from Kazakhstan. He is the co-founder of the multinational Eurasian Natural Resources Corporation (ENRC) and is involved in diversified natural resources such as mining, processing, energy and logistics. Its owner died in February 2021, reportedly due to Covid-19.

The vessel was built at the Kusch Yachts shipyard in Germany, with interior design by Massari Design. It can accommodate 22 guests in 11 luxury cabins; and 30 crew in another 15 cabins. Among its features, it has a 30-square-metre indoor swimming pool, which also serves as a dock for dinghies and pleasure boats.

The ship is powered by a Rolls-Royce diesel-electric propulsion system, with a top speed of 17 knots, and a cruising speed of 14 knots. It has a range of 6,500 nautical miles (about 12,000 kilometres), making it particularly suitable for journeys between the Mediterranean and the Caribbean. It is valued at around 200 million dollars, with maintenance costs estimated at 15 to 20 million dollars a year.

Positive Customer Review: "One of the most memorable parts for me was the launch. I went with my wife, and Benetti had a Roman Catholic priest bless the yacht. It was very beautiful with all the Italian music and then the British national anthem, and it was all very unexpected. 'Duped' by 'Dynasty?' Patriots' Stars Criticize TV Show

  • Author: Geoff Magliocchetti

In this story:

New England Patriots

Harrison and McCourty give it two thumbs down.

Anyone New England Patriots fan seeking relief from the franchise's ongoing rebuild could potentially turn to "The Dynasty," the Apple TV+ docuseries that provides a bittersweet, behind-the-scenes look at Foxborough's unprecedented run of prosperity at the turn-of-the center.

The series has garnered generally positive reviews but series stars Rodney Harrison and Devin McCourty are not among those authors, panning the miniseries in a recorded conversation posted on NBC Sports' football channels.

Patriots safety Devin McCourty

Harrison and McCourty were two of the many prominent Patriots names interviewed for the series , which released the last of 10 episodes on Friday. New England's tally of six Super Bowls in an 18-year span was undoubtedly a team effort, but Harrison believed that the series stripped the success and failure down to the triumvirate of head coach/general manager Bill Belichick, quarterback Tom Brady, and team owner Robert Kraft.

“It just seemed so Tom-and-Bill-centric, and Kraft," Harrison, who earned two Super Bowl rings in six seasons, said. "I didn’t enjoy it. I stopped because it didn’t tell the stories. . . . It was centered around some things that I wasn’t really feeling and I just stopped watching.

"I interviewed for five or six hours I was in New York, and all they had me saying was, ‘(Bleep) ‘em all. (Bleep) ‘em all.’ Like, that’s it. That’s all I saw myself say. Like, I have a lot of input into Tom and how these guys treated me and the things that happened that led to me signing here. That was a big deal ... I wasn’t a big fan of it.”

New England Patriots great Rodney Harrison is among 15 finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2024.

cred: USA Today Sports Images

McCourty believed that the series was overly critical of Belichick, saying that his own confessionals recorded for the film focused not on triumphs but rather on drama like the Aaron Hernandez situation and the coach's endorsement of Donald Trump leading into the 2016 United States presidential election.

“I thought 2010 was like a changing of the guard for so many different things with New England. Like, some of the older players were gone, and it was just like every move had to be made right to try to move on and the only thing they talked about was Aaron Hernandez,” McCourt remarked. “I felt like I got kind of duped.

"I watched and I was just like, man, only things I said that could come across as negative to Bill was the only thing (used)," the 13-year Patriots and three-time champ continued. "I had different kinds of quick sentences on things, but the longest thing I talked about was 2016 with Trump ... and I thought that was probably the worst part. That everything that we all gave to the 20 years that it encompassed, they only hit anything that was negative.”

The two defenders hinted that the more uplifting Belichick stories were left on the cutting room floor: Harrison sought to focus on the head coach's successful game day planning while McCourty said a story of Belichick helping secure a commutation for William Allen, a man released from prisons 28 years into a life sentence, was also eliminated.

Patriots - Bill Belichick Arms Raised

Belichick Treated Fairly in Patriots 'Dynasty'?

Even though Belichick's name has lost a little bit of value in modern Massachusetts, some, like Harrison and McCourty, are more than willing to sign his praises. Alas, those tales and more appear to be reserved for a director's cut that's likely never coming.

Superyacht Xplorer 80 Meter

It’s time to throw out the idea of an explorer vessel having to look like Arnold Schwarzenegger in the first Terminator movie—a muscle-bound package that’s all straight lines and sharp angles.

Rose Damen, managing director of Damen Yachting, calls the 262-footer a “crossover superyacht” that throws out the idea that an explorer yacht has to look like a modified research vessel. The exterior of the new 80M, depending on the designer, can range from a slightly rounded superstructure to extreme curves.

Superyacht Xplorer 80 Beach Club

The three exterior choices come from Azure Yacht Design (pictured), Harrison Eidsgaard, and Espen Oino, while the interiors are by Harrison Eidsgaard (pictured), Winch Design, and Reymond Langton. The designers all worked independently with Damen to create designs that would fit into a core platform.

The Dutch builder then pre-engineered the different interiors and exteriors so they can be interchangeable, depending on how the client wants to design it—another trait that is new to the rigid explorer design. The stern area can also be configured in multiple ways, from an enclosed helicopter hangar (with a helipad on top), to double tender garages, to a gym and wellness center, or even a dive center.

Superyacht Xplorer 80 by Damen Yachting

Ben Harrison, cofounder of U.K. designer Harrison Eidsgaard, presented his firm’s interior concept, a sprawling New York-loft-style design that makes use of the tall ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, open-plan spaces, loose designer furniture, and even a fireplace. “We can play with the spaces and reallocate them according to the owner’s wishes, without having major implications for the technical design of the yacht,” said Harrison.

Damen Superyacht Xplorer 80 main salon

The new 80 also has some shared un-explorer-like features, including an enclosed observation lounge and open nook on the bow, as well as a crow’s nest that stands nearly 100 feet above the vessel. “It’s an intimate space that allows for 360-degree views of the water,” said Tintore.

Despite the unusual exterior and interior offerings, says Tintore, the 262-footer retains the Xplorer line’s DNA. The vessel is designed to stay off-grid for 40 days at sea. Tintore noted that the original concept of these vessels being solely polar explorers has also been thrown out the window. Since the first was launched in 2015, Damen owners have visited tropical destinations with their expedition yachts.

The flexible layouts, adds Tintore, allows owners to configure their boats to match the conditions where they’ll be cruising. The new design should prompt competitors to reexamine their own explorer concepts and hopefully inject more flexibility—and fun—into their creations.

The owner of a $3.4 million Lamborghini yacht threatened a private dock employee after being told he couldn't be there, the San Diego-based broadcaster CBS8 reported on March 11.

Joseph Holt, a 21-year-old employee at Marriot Marina in San Diego, told CBS8 that he spotted the yacht sailing into the private dock. The owner, whom CBS8 identified as Ajay Thakore, tried to pick another person up at the dock, Holt said.

"I told him respectfully that he couldn't be there, and I honestly was hoping to have a conversation with him about his cool boat," Holt told CBS8.

In a YouTube video posted by @SM-wc9eq on March 10, a dark blue Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63 is seen sailing out of a dock. A man in a gray T-shirt, a pair of jeans, and a cap was shown standing on the yacht. The man appeared to be Thakore, per CBS8.

Thakore was shown shouting at Holt. "I will kill you, you know I will kill you!" he can be heard saying multiple times in the video

Thakore was later shown pounding his fist on his palm and pointing his thumb down before telling Holt: "To your face!" Holt was shown responding by pointing his middle finger at Thakore.

"I really was trying to restrain myself from getting fired from my job or stepping out of line. The only thing I did was give him the bird," Holt told CBS8.

Holt said Thakore then took $100 bills from his wallet and threw them at him. He added that Thakore mooned him. This exchange was not shown in the video.

"He was saying I'm nobody, I'm nothing, I work a silly job. He said that he knows people, he has connections, he can change my life and ruin it," Holt said. Holt did not immediately respond to Business Insider's request for comment.

The San Diego Harbor Police arrived at the marina 10 minutes after Thakore's yacht exited the dock, per CBS8.

The Harbor Police told Business Insider that Holt decided to press charges against Thakore and that they are investigating the incident.

According to Thakore's LinkedIn page , he's the CEO of Doctor Multimedia. The company's website shows that it's a healthcare marketing firm based in San Diego. Thakore appears to go by the name Ace Rogers on Instagram and TikTok, where he's noted as being a professional gambler.

Thakore, through his public relations team, told CBS8 in a statement that his altercation with Holt was "regrettable."

"What started as a minor misunderstanding escalated into an argument, and I apologize for my actions and to those who witnessed the unfortunate exchange," the statement said. Thakore did not immediately respond to a request for comment from BI.

Thakore isn't the only CEO who's been called out for threatening another person. In November 2021, an Activision spokesperson told BI that its ex-CEO Bobby Kotick had previously apologized for telling his assistant he would have her killed. The spokesperson added that Kotick's threat was "obviously hyperbolic and inappropriate" and that "he deeply regrets the exaggeration and tone."

In June 2020, Lisa Alexander, the CEO of LaFace Skincare, a cosmetics company, apologized in a statement to the media after she had threatened to call the police on her neighbor for writing "Black Lives Matter" on his property. Alexander said in the apology that she was "disrespectful" and "should have minded my own business."

“I envision an America that leads with compassion, innovation, and most of all integrity. An America where racial equity is not just an ideal, but a lived reality for every citizen. Where our policies reflect our commitment to the planet, and where education opens doors to futures bright with promise,” Johnny Buss says on the website Buss2024.com .

According to campaign documents, Johnny Buss filed for his candidacy on Jan. 30. He has spent $118,026.66 according to government filings, including $1,500 for hair styling expenses and $36,560 for a film production company.

A text message to Buss wasn’t immediately returned. He does not have a role with the Lakers. The team declined to comment on the candidacy.

Buss, the eldest son of late Lakers owner Dr. Jerry Buss , previously served as president of indoor soccer franchise Los Angeles Lazers and as president of the Sparks until 2006.

In 2017, Johnny and his brother Jim, were involved in a brief legal fight over the structure of the team’s board of directors in which Jeanie Buss solidified her position as controlling owner of the Lakers.

Marina altercation

Talk about a bizarre scene that could’ve been pulled straight from a movie.

The owner of a $3.4 million Lamborghini yacht threatened a private dock employee after he was informed that he couldn’t be there, CBS8 reported back on March 11.

The story begins with Joseph Holt, a 21-year-old employee at Marriot Marina in San Diego, where he told CBS8 that he saw the yacht sailing into the private dock Sunday afternoon. Apparently, the owner, identified as Ajay Thakore, attempted to pick up another person at the dock.

“I told him respectfully that he couldn’t be there, and I honestly was hoping to have a conversation with him about his cool boat,” Holt said to the news outlet.

“But yeah, it completely went the other way,” Holt added.

Captured on a video that was posted to YouTube by @SM-wc9eq on March 10 was an embarrassing verbal confrontation between Holt and Thakore, in front of a host of onlookers.

A dark blue Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63 can be seen sailing out of a dock. Standing on the end of the yacht was a man sporting a gray shirt, jeans, and a cap.

The man seen in the video footage was seemingly the local business owner and philanthropist, screaming at the young man as the yacht sailed away.

Thakore was seen threatening his life, shouting at Holt, saying, “I will kill you, you know I will kill you!” He can be heard repeating himself multiple times in the video.

Thakore can be seen pounding his fists on his palm and pointing his thumb down, and telling Holt, “To your face!”

This caused Holt, who is standing on the dock, to respond with hoisting his middle finger in the air, directed at Thakore. Thakore’s screams can be heard echoing through the arena.

“It escalated immediately. It was 0 to 100 immediately,” he said to the outlet.

“I really was trying to restrain myself from getting fired from my job or stepping out of line. The only thing I did was give him the bird,” he added.

Holt said Thakore went as far as to take $100 bills from his wallet and throw the money at him, which landed in the water, and even dropped his pants and mooned him.

“[He] started to make gestures to everybody watching and me. You can’t act that way in public. It’s just not ok. Especially threatening my life, at the very least. There were women and children there. That’s the most important part,” Holt told the news outlet.

Unfortunately, the lewd act wasn’t caught on video.

“I’m a minimum wage worker, he was commenting on that, on my status just because of my job. He was saying I’m nobody, I’m nothing, I work a silly job. He said that he knows people, he has connections, he can change my life and ruin it,” Holt said.

The San Diego Harbor Police reported to the scene 10 minutes later.

Thakore, who goes by the name Ace Rogers on Instagram and TikTok and has a LinkedIn page stating that he’s the CEO of Doctor Multimedia, a healthcare marketing firm based in San Diego, had his public relations team provide a statement to CBS8, saying that he regrets the altercation.

“What started as a minor misunderstanding escalated into an argument, and I apologize for my actions and to those who witnessed the unfortunate exchange,” the statement said.
