Each New Year’s Eve, Sydney Harbour puts on a magical display as hundreds of fireworks soar off the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The celebratory atmosphere makes it the perfect way to ring in the new year. Seeing the fireworks from a yacht will ensure you get up close and personal and have the best view in the city.

When it comes to weather, Sydney is quite predictable. The warmer months are commonly from November to February which is when the Harbour is most alive and buzzing with activity.

The cooler months are March to August. Even if you are visiting in the cooler months, make sure to pack swimwear, as it is common to enjoy warm, sunny days during winter.

BOAT HIRE SYDNEY - EXPERIENCES

Skipper George was so laid back, asking us where we wanted to head to for the day which made our experience feel totally personalised. He even went to the effort to drop anchor in a shallower bay so that those of us not sure about the deep harbour waters, were able to get in for a swim. Andrew, our host, made sure we always had a full drink in our hands (which was an unexpected bonus) and cooked a fab BBQ spread for us all. Both crewmembers were friendly and good company for the day.

Thank you to the team at Eastcoast Sailing for a totally memorable Christmas Party. From booking to boarding, the whole experience was simple and hassle free, allowing us to enjoy the spectacular day.

We had a lovely time last Friday up in Pittwater for my Mum’s 70th Birthday.

Jim, the skipper, was great with the kids and his calm manner somehow effortlessly managed to put my oldest, who had been quite anxious of sailing at ease. He also encouraged each of the children to take a turn at the helm, which they all loved, and we spotted dolphins right by the boat, which was very special.

Pittwater is a great location for sailing and we would go back in an instant if we could!

We loved our east coast sailing experience. Your customer service before the boat was impeccable, all of our needs and questions were taken care of with an amazing promptness. On the boat Lisa the captain was a delight to be with she was interesting informative and fun. We loved our sailing experience the storm was beautiful to watch and the sunset was stunning. There is nothing I like better than being on a boat in Sydney harbour. I would recommend east coast sailing at the drop of a hat.

I was very satisfied with the service you provided. I was overseas so found it very stressful trying to book this event from so far. However Kylie helped to relieve this stress by being helpful, friendly and quick with email responses. I had no issues at all with the booking. The boat was fantastic and we all had a great day. If you wish to explore further, most of these boats listed can cruise offshore to the sheltered waters of Pittwater and the Hawkesbury River. often the only extra cost incurred is extra fuel costs. Sydney Harbour Escapes specialises in organising stays for celebrites aboard our deluxe superyachts. Security can be organised and many optional services. Most of the vessels above vessels offer the capacity for extended stay charters. Often there is a discount for more than 24 hours. Ask for your specialised quote if this is not advertised.

Frequently asked questions, does the skipper stay overnight.

This varies from each vessel - We do have some vessels where the skipper stays onboard the vessel and others where the skipper gets off the vessel once moored.

Where does the vessel anchor?

This is dependent on the weather and winds on the night of your charter - the skipper will choose a nice secluded bay on the night

Can I bring my own music?

Definitely! On board all of our vessels is an AUX cord which is compatible with any music compatible device e.g. iPhone, iPod.

How do I make a boat booking?

To secure a vessel for your charter, we take a 50% deposit of the total amount or cost of the vessel hire, unless specified otherwise. The rest of the payment will be due 14 days prior to the charter along with final numbers and food and beverage requirements. Just select your start date and end date to check the availability for your selected date.

How can I make payment?

Payment can be made by EFT, Visa, MasterCard or in cash.

Don’t have the sailing skills, experience or qualifications for a bareboat charter? Prefer to lie back and relax and let someone else take care of you?

Well you can now explore Sydney’s Pittwater on your very own private skippered Allsail catamaran charter or yacht charter.

Whether you’d like to simply relax on a spacious and stable catamaran charter or experience the thrill of sailing onboard one of our yacht charters, one of our highly experienced and local Allsail skippers will look after you for the duration of your skippered charter.

Boat Charters Under Power

Allsail boat charters under power have been specifically designed for charters who have a boat licence, but they don’t have sailing skills or the sailing experience required for a bareboat charter.

On a Pittwater boat charter you can choose to charter either a yacht or a catamaran from our Allsail charter fleet, however you use the boats under power only.

Bareboat Yacht Charters

Allsail Bareboat yacht charters are available to charterers who have previous charter experience and the required sailing qualifications .

Choose from Dancing Star (Bavaria Cruiser 40S), Leeward (Beneteau First 40) or The FROG (Beneteau Oceanis 39).

Bareboat Multihull Charters

Choose from Tekin , a 1996 Seawind 1000 catamaran for groups of up to 20 people or Kick’N Back , a newer Seawind 1000 catamaran, that comes with a 8-man RIB tender with outboard, also available for up to 20 guests plus master/crew.

Corporate or Group Race Skippered Charters

Reward, excite and motivate your team with an Allsail corporate or group race skippered charter.

Another Challenge , Allsail’s Sydney 38 racer is available for corporate training or group race charters up to 10 persons, including skipper/instructor and 1 crew.

Corporate training or group race skippered charters are also available on Leeward (Beneteau First 40) and Dancing Star (Bavaria 40S).

1 day luxury boat hire | Day or Night

Conditions of Hire The vessel must be controlled at all times by the listed driver for vessels that do not require a license and must be 18yrs or older. All other state marine licensing rules apply. The hirer will NOT allow any other person to control the vessel unless listed on the booking form & is responsible for all occupants and their actions. Operating the vessel is only permitted at night with the driver holding a valid current Australian Boat Licence. Vessels allowed in partially smooth waters and smooth waters only. Suitable PFD, (lifejackets) for all passengers i.e. adult, juvenile, child can be provided. (Recommended for children under 12 years at all times) All body parts must be inside the vessel while in motion. All Gates must be kept closed at all times when vessel is in motion. No metal or foam Esky allowed on vessel at any time. One can be provided if needed. The control of the vessel and passengers is the reasonability of the hirer once they have taken the vessel from SHLBH and SHLBH will not be responsible for any loss of personal items, injures or deaths to the hirer or its passengers The vessel is not to operate in non-smooth water (at sea) AT ANY TIME. The hirer must not operate the vessel in poor weather or sea/river conditions or where such conditions are imminent, if these conditions are present before the hire proceeds a transfer of reservation will be granted, however we do not grant such transfer for rain alone. WEATHER FORECAST MONITORING IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE HIRER TO ENSURE SAFETY OF PERSONS ON BOARD THE VESSEL. Vessels are not permitted to cross coastal bars AT ANY TIME. Should the said vessel not be returned within the agreed time stipulated and the hirer is unable to be made contact with, it will be deemed the hirer to have lost/stolen the vessel and SHLBH will take steps to regain possession, including police action. Additional costs will apply for a late return if not prearranged. An additional charge of $50 per 15mins will be charged for late return . The hirer must pay penalty notices if issued by any Authority, occurring during the hire period. The hirer must pay for any damage or losses caused to the vessel/equipment during the hire period. A bond of $1,000 must be paid before vessel leaves. This may be done by Master Card, direct transfer or cash. Allow up to 7days for return. Hirers will abide by all Maritime Authority, marine and environmental legislation, including being responsible for any fishing license if required. The hirer WILL accept the consequences if he/she or any listed co-driver breach these conditions and will not be covered by insurance if found to be in breach of the conditions, Bookings are confirmed when full payment has been received. Cancellation of bookings are only made by CCA Group where extreme hazardous weather conditions are forecasted on day of hire. On cancellation you will be offered a chance to book another day in replacement of your original booking to the same value or be offered a credit voucher to be used within 3 Months of the original booking date. The Hirer acknowledges and accepts that the use and operation of this vessel is subject to inherit risks and dangers. The Hirer accepts those risks and agrees to indemnify the Owner of the Vessel for any losses suffered by the Hirer, any passengers or any third party as a result of the materialization of those risks and dangers. The Hirer also undertakes to advise all passengers of the risks and dangers associated with the use and operation of the vessel prior to boarding. The hirer acknowledges & understands all safety material and briefings that have been presented. By signing the hire contract, the hirer acknowledges that they have read, understand & agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of this rental agreement as printed and on the front of this document and have made them self-familiar with both the location & content of the safety management plan and understands this. The hirer is responsible for all occupants complying with all agreement and for any water violations may be billed to the credit card. Confirmation and sighting of the hire’s identification will be required.

We are based at Putney Sydney NSW on the beautiful foreshore that leads all the way into Sydney Harbour. On the map below it shows the area of our pick-up location, and a simple way to get to us:

Arrive in your vehicle, public transport or rivercat

You will soon be here to see us no matter which option of travel you take...Our boat pick-up & return is at Kissing Point Park Putney NSW. The jetty is at this location which is on Waterview Street. The nearest main road is Victoria Road which runs through the suburb. A good tip is to turn off at Charles Street and follow to the bottom where you will come to the park and jetty for your escape. There is plenty of parking at the jetty, and you can park/stay all day for free!!

We now offer a Pick up & Drop off service from several locations!

Maritime fees will increase from 1 July 2024 as NSW Maritime moves to invest more money into improving boating safety programs and services across the state.

Boatcode fees

The Boatcode Agent may charge additional fees for travel time and expenses. Arrange this with the Boatcode Agent before they provide the service. If you believe you've been overcharged, please contact Transport for NSW (Maritime) Info Line on 13 12 36 , 8:30am to 4:30pm, 7 days a week.

Aquatic event licence fees

The following may incur additional costs:

• events requiring exclusive use
• events requiring attendance of additional Transport officers
• the publication of a Marine Notice in local and/or state-wide print media.

Mooring fees and charges

• GST not applicable.
• Concession fee of 50% applies to private mooring licences.

Wharf access fees

Charter wharf fees - price per timeslot, commuter wharf fees.

• All prices include GST
• Surveyed vessel passenger capacity is the maximum passenger capacity of the vessel for smooth water operations as expressed on the vessel’s Certificate of Survey and Operation.

Concession eligibility 

You're eligible for a concession on your Boat Licence, Vessel Registration or Private Mooring Licence if you:

• NSW Pensioner Concession Card (PCC) issued by Centrelink or Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA)
• TPI (Totally & Permanently Incapacitated)
• EDA (Extreme Disablement Adjustment)
• war widow/er.
• you receive a disability pension of 70% or higher or an intermediate pension, or
• you've been assessed at 50 or more impairment points.
