How much should i tip the boat captain/crew.

The crew will work hard to ensure that you have a safe and enjoyable time on board. If you have enjoyed your charter we would suggest a 10% is customary.

How do I confirm a yacht charter?

To confirm a charter we will send you a charter agreement for signature and invoice for a deposit. The owner will counter-sign the charter agreement and then your charter will be confirmed

What else will I need to pay for?

In addition to the charter fee you will pay an Advanced Charter Allowance (ACA) from which the cost for all food and drink for the duration of the charter, fuel, marina and any other additional expenses will be deducted.

What happens once I have booked?

Once you have booked a cruising charter we will be in touch to gather your charter preferences including dietary preferences, meal times and itinerary. We will liaise with the chef to arrange a proposed menu for the charter and put you in touch with the crew via Whatsapp chat.

What are high and low season dates for Caribbean cruising charters

High Season includes the Christmas and New Year period (approx 28th December – 7th January) and 2 weeks around Easter

Can I charter a yacht for a corporate event?

Yes, we offer corporate yacht charters that are perfect for team-building exercises and other corporate functions.

What insurance will I need?

The yacht is fully insured but you will need your own personal insurance that covers yacht racing

Do I need an owners rep/boat captain and what role will they have?

Most of our yachts have to come with a boat captain / owner’s representative; this person isn’t there to be the skipper and they can fit into your team wherever you need. There knowledge of the boat can help you get the best performance from the boat and minimise avoidable damage.

Eating out as a crew?

If you decide to venture out as a group and wish to include the permanent crew, please remember that what is your holiday is their job. If you would like to show your appreciation for all their hard work in making your holiday a success by asking them to join you for a night out, then please be kind enough to pay for their expenses.

What is racing yacht charter?

Racing yacht charter is a unique opportunity that allows you to charter a race prepared yacht with your team and participate in regattas around the world. We can cater for race charter opportunites from a group of friends wanting a fun regatta in the sun to a professional team looking for silverwear.

Do I need sailing experience to participate in a racing yacht charter?

Sailing experience requirements varies according to yacht and regatta of choice. Some yachts like a Volvo 65 require more sailing experience than joining the team on a 40′ racer cruiser. When arranging your charter with you we discuss any pre-requisite experience with you.

What is the duration of a racing yacht charter?

For most racing charters your schedule will include 2 training days prior to the event start date, for offshore races a third day for boat preparation will also be included.

What additional costs should I expect?

In addition to the charter fee you may pay a security deposit and an Advanced Charter Allowance (ACA) to cover charter related costs including race entry, berthing and other charter related costs.

Can you arrange accommodation?

Yes, we offer a regatta concierge service which means that in addition to arranging your race entry and berthing we can also recommend and book accommodation ashore, flights, transfers and restaurant bookings as well as much more.* * 10% service charge applies for regatta concierge services

Once you have booked a charter we will be in touch to gather crew information in order to handle the race entry on your behalf. As the regatta date approaches we will connect you with the Boat Captain via Whatsapp chat and provide useful information on both the event and on the location. We are available at any time via phone or email to answer any other questions or queries you may have.

What is the security deposit for?

The security deposit is to cover damage to the yacht, that is more than just general wear and tear that would be expected when racing. In the worst case scenario it will cover the excess should there be the need for a claim on the yacht’s insurance. However, it is also there to cover less serious damage that does not warrant an insurance claim like damages to sails. If there is no damage then we will refund the security deposit in the week following the charter. If there are any damages the value of these damages will be assessed and the balance of the security deposit refunded after these costs have been deducted.

FANCY currently registered in France is actively available for charter in several cruising destinations.

The luxury sailing yacht FANCY was built by Nautor's Swan and delivered to her owner in 2023.

The exterior of FANCY is designed by German Frers.

The 108ft / 32.9m FANCY has been constructed with a carbon hull and is powered by 1x 350 Hp Engine with a cruising speed of 10 knots and a top speed of 13 knots.

Charter guest accommodation

FANCY has been designed to comfortably accommodate up to 9 charter guests in 4 suites.

The guest cabins comprise a primary suite with a king size bed and en-suite bathroom facilities, a VIP suite with a queen size bed and en-suite bathroom facilities, a cabin with a double bed and en-suite bathroom facilities and a cabin with a double bed and a pullman bed and en-suite bathroom facilities.

Your luxury charter on board sailing yacht FANCY will be managed by the crew of 5 including the captain.

The crew will ensure you have a relaxed and enjoyable charter experience with all of your needs catered for while on board.

The 5 crew have their own separate crew quarters allowing guests to enjoy increased levels of privacy.

Amenities on board for the charter guests include Air Conditioning, Cinema, Light fishing gear, Indoor audio system, TV saloon and Wi-Fi.

Eric Santenne

Eric Santenne, despite his youthful looks, began his career in the yachting industry over 20 years ago and he has gained a wealth of experience after sailing on some of the most performant yachts in the industry. Having grown up in the South of France, his knowledge of sailboats is combined with his extensive world-wide network within the industry itself. This ensures that he has both the connections and the background to deliver whatever his guests desire and is well able to create bespoke itineraries that meet your individual needs. As a leader, he is mature, calm, positive, inspires loyalty, and brings a strong can-do attitude to the team. Being part of the construction of the yacht, he has been working on every facet of bringing the yacht’s program to reality, from overseeing the construction in Finland, to being in charge of all the technical side of things and the logistics. He now cannot wait to introduce you to FANCY so he can share his passion for sailing and create memorable experiences with guests. Edouard Duriez

Édouard has been working on yachts since 2009, when he was a skipper on the private charter catamaran LIBERTY and Swan 82 KALLIMA. Since then he has worked in a variety of positions including deckhand, first mate and skipper on many different yachts. His experiences include sailing as a crew member during the « Voiles de Saint-Tropez » races on S/y OISEAU DE FEU in 2011, and being the skipper onboard S/Y KANDOR on her transatlantic crossing from the Bahamas to the Balearics. Job description As First Mate Edouard has the expertise required to stand in for Captain in his absence, acting as second in command. He assists the Captain during navigation and participates in all on-deck operations, respecting guest’s activities. He has extensive knowledge of sailing yachts maintenance and is responsible for the running of deck equipment and machinery. Licenses & Certificates 2019 ENG1 (08/07/2020) 2017 STCW Officer & Master 500Gt 2013 GMDSS 2013 PADI open water diving licence 2011 Capitaine 200 Voile (Yacht master Ocean) 2007 English school in England (Brighton) for a year. 2006 Coastal skipper.

Erwan Monsimet

Born in Brittany, Erwan is a passionate and eclectic chef, mixing the traditional French cuisine with international flavours, always keeping in mind the location of the boat, sourcing the most local and fresh produce to create his menu. Although he started in hotel and restaurants, he branched out to cruise ships and was exposed to dishes and ideas from around the world. He incorporates these ideas into his menus, aiming for a fusion between showcasing the very best of local ingredients yethis ability to balance them with intercontinental tastes. He is an ambitious chef and has a passion for lifelong learning and developing his talent. Over his time on board, he has developed and enhanced his skills on deck, always smiling and helping out in any areas required. As an integral part of the Fancy team, Erwan aims to delight the guests with his creativity and flair, always available and very aware of the individual needs. Whether these are allergy or diet related, Erwan is keen to work around your preferences.

Olivia Beaumelou

Olivia has always been close to the industry, living between Florida and South of France. With her bubbly and caring personality, Olivia was a project manager and producer for a technology company for 3 years, however her first passion was always the sea. Her curiosity and need for adventure made her jump ship and start her career in yachting. She quickly gained some experience on various yachts. With a hard-working attitude and ability to deliver great service, she aims to make sure that your stay on FANCY will be the most remarkable experience. In her spare time, she enjoys sports, reading books and swimming in the ocean. Qualifications: Roehampton University, Bachelors degree in Film & Art History, 2009 – 2012 Torenteum Centre de Formation CFBS (STCW), French government issued Brevet Medical Qualification Level 1, March 2021

Lena Le Meillour

Lena grew up in Brittany with sailing at the heart of her lifestyle. Fluent in French and English with some notion of Spanish, she is able to communicate and integrate wherever she goes. Lena has some solid experience in the hospitality sector prior to starting in yachting. She has now gained some sailing experience on various boats and is keen to learn more. She is passionate and thrives on the small details and guests’ satisfaction. She is always happy and purposeful; she loves to be active and has a great work ethic. EXTERIOR On deck, there is an exceptional swim platform which measures approximately 11 square metres, as well as spacious relaxation and a cockpit dining area.

INTERIOR The main salon boasts exceptionally large portholes which bathe the space in light throughout and invites guests to relax in a refined and intimate atmosphere. A generous dining table and chairs is to starboard while the port side creates a lounge with u-shaped sofa and occasional chairs. There is also a delightful lower TV lounge which offers a cosy space for board games and film nights.

Accommodation is for up to 9 guests and the suites are configured as a Master suite, a VIP cabin and 2 double cabins, one of which includes an additional pullman bunk. The crew have their own quarters and service entrance, which maintains privacy for guests.

Nautor Swan Reveals Swan 108 Interiors

Boat builder Nautor Swan has revealed info and images of the interiors of Swan 108 yacht Fancy, designed by Misa Poggi in collaboration with the owner.

The Swan 108 Fancy, the first unit of the new generation of Maxi Swan, sees the cooperation of German Frers for naval architecture, Misa Poggi for interior design and Lucio Micheletti of Micheletti + Partners for exterior styling.

Built with full carbon hull and deck in epoxy Sprint technology from carbon moulds, the S/Y Fancy will be registered with Rina charter classification.

One of the most important innovations is the new dual-acting transom door. This simple yet robustly engineered mechanism, is a major “small” revolution. The stern opens along with part of the aft deck to give the customer an over-sized beach club. This solution allows to double the space available for this important area of the boat, as well as making the tender management far easier. The beach area does not compromise interior volumes.

On deck, the coamings widen in the aft part of the cockpit, allowing a further outboard position for the steering stations while still maintaining good helm protection. The extra-large main companionway provides an incredible light-well for the interior.

The Swan 108 is the true expression of Nautor Swan philosophy, being faithful to Nautor’s heritage in a very contemporary style. At the same time, the BTC sees the Swan 88, Swan 108 hull number two and Swan 128 under construction.

“The Swan 108 marks a new era in the Swan Maxi range at Nautor” says Giovanni Pomati, Nautor Group CEO. “The project, launched in 2021 during the Regate di Primavera in Portofino, has been like drawing a beautiful painting. Like a painter meticulously chooses his palette, we made a very intense research of talents that were able to put on the table their know-how and blend it with the other, to create a beautiful and unique product.

The history of Swan Maxis begins early on, a few years after the establishment of Nautor. An expert client asked for a 17m Sparkman & Stephens. It was the year 1970, and the magnificent Swan 55 took shape. At the time, it was one of the largest yachts in the world to be produced in series and in fiberglass.

The Swan Maxi, from 88 to 128 feet, offers the highest expression of seaworthiness in any conditions combined with elegance, comfort, performance, style and modernity. The world class designers behind these beautiful yachts are Maestro Germàn Frers and for the interior design, Misa Poggi, while from the launch of the latest projects, the exterior design sees the addition of Lucio Micheletti’s pen to the team.

With the launch of ClubSwan yachts, Nautor marks the beginning of a new chapter in the Finnish boat builders’ remarkable history. In a sure sign of spring, Swan Boats glide again in Boston Public Garden

Like the spirited celebrations along Boylston Street on Marathon Monday, the launch of the Swan Boats in the Boston Public Garden is a symbol of the start of spring in the city.

As has been the case for almost 150 years, the fleet was ready for service on Saturday morning. The first boat carried Mayor Michelle Wu and her family through the famed lagoon.

Six-year-old Andile Gay, of Dorchester, participated in a Swan Boat art program for Boston Public School students, so her family was invited to ride with the mayor.

“It’s been fun,” Mbali Gay, 38, said of her family’s first-ever ride on the boats. “It’s been something that’s welcoming to all families.”

As a child growing up in Boston, Maria DeSisto regularly went to the Swan Boats with her mother and sisters. She still tries to make it to every opening day.

“It just remains a wonderful, affordable constant in the city,” said DeSisto, 59, who now lives in Taunton. “For that 15 minutes on the ride? It’s just total peace and immersion in the experience.”

Preparations for each new magical season begin long before opening day. One of the city’s top tourist attractions, the Swan Boats operate on varying schedules through Sept. 2.

Crews spent months sanding down benches and varnishing oak slats on each boat. Last week, they lugged custom-made parts to the Public Garden, where each vessel was meticulously assembled by hand.

“There’s a lot of little stuff that takes place over the winter,” Lyn Paget, a fourth-generation owner of the company, said in an interview ahead of this year’s opening. “And then there’s the regular painting and prep to get everything all spruced up so that they look great for opening.”

The Swan Boats, first introduced by Irish immigrant Robert Paget in 1877, are propelled by a driver who sits atop a paddle wheel to pedal the vessel forward, according to the company’s website . All six boats are built of oak, ornamental copper, iron, and brass, which Paget said makes them the only boats of their type left in the world.

“There’s something that’s really important about maintaining the tradition and integrity of these boats,” said Paget, who manages the company alongside her cousin, Phil Paget. “These boats are what create the memories and the stories that we hear over and over.”

While replacing the copper belly of each 3-ton boat with fiberglass might make for easier maintenance, Paget said maintaining the fleet’s original construction is essential to the long-term viability of the business.

“With a business like this, you can’t just be thinking about the next week or month or quarter or season,” said Paget, who spent her teenage years selling ride tickets. “You really have to be thinking about how we maintain this for as long as we possibly can.”

Like the Marathon, the return of the Swan Boats is a sure sign that Boston is waking up from winter.

“When people see those boats coming in, there’s this relief that we’re getting back outside,” said Paget. “We are a symbol that even if the weather’s not great on the day that we open, it’s going to get better.”

Many people made their way to the boats after participating in the Boston 5K , a run through Back Bay held as part of the Marathon festivities.

Assyifa Ilman, 27, a Harvard graduate student from Indonesia, hopped aboard with friends after finishing the race.

“I think it’s a very good thing to open in spring because all the trees are blossoming at the moment, so it’s a really great experience overall,” Ilman said.

Olivia O’Dwyer, of Cambridge, said she expected the boats, which seat 20 people, to be smaller. “I didn’t expect [there] would be so many people on the boat,” she said.

But O’Dwyer, 25, said she loved sharing a ride on one of the iconic boats.

“It was honestly kind of nice to be with that whole group,” she said.

It’s Prince Siegfried’s 21 st birthday.  Young people have gathered to celebrate the occasion including the Prince’s friend Benno, and his old tutor Wolfgang.  The festivities are spirited and there is much dancing and games.  In the midst of the activity, the Prince’s aunt arrives to remind her nephew that his coming of age is a serious affair – it is time for him to marry.   A Ball has been arranged for the following evening and there, from a group of prospective fiancées, he is to choose a bride.  

Siegfried is disconsolate at the thought of his carefree youth slipping away.  He has no desire to marry.   The day draws to a close and in an attempt to cheer his friend, Benno points to a flock of wild swans in flight and suggests a hunting expedition.  Deciding that life is still to be enjoyed Siegfried orders pursuit.  

A C T  T W O

The hunting party follows the swans thought the woods, reaching a clearing where they settle on a nearby lake.  Siegfried’s attention is suddenly attracted by a beautiful white swan, which is transformed into a lovely young maiden.  She is Odette, Queen of the Swans.  The evil sorcerer Von Rothbart holds her under his spell – by day she and her friends are and must remain swans, but between midnight and dawn they may resume their human form.   Only the pure love of a young man can remove the curse.  Astonished by her beauty and full of love for Odette, Siegfried’s love will destroy evil powers.  Von Rothbart suddenly appears in the form of an owl, beckoning menacingly to Odette.  As dawn breaks, the lovers bid farewell.  Odette returns to the lake, resuming her guise as a swan and Rothbart plots to make the Prince break his vow.

A C T  T H R E E

The entire court is assembled for Siegfried’s betrothal Ball, where the invited Princesses and their families eagerly await the decision of the Prince.  The Prince’s aunt indicates he is to choose a bride from the maidens present, but none pleases him.  The young Prince’s mind is still filled with images of the beautiful Odette. Mindful of his vow of Fidelity, he pays little attention to the eligible young women with whom he is presented.  Suddenly, a fanfare announces the arrival of two new guests.  It is Von Rothbart disguised as a nobleman with his daughter Odile.   

The Prince stands transfixed by her likeness to Odette and overwhelmed by the unexpected appearance of his true love, he asks her to dance.  Odile so bewitches the Prince that he asks for her hand in marriage.  Convinced he is with his beloved Odette, he declares his fidelity in front of all present.  Triumphantly, Von Rothbart and Odile reveal themselves.  The Prince realizes too late that he is a victim of their cruel treachery.  Odette has been betrayed and now can never be released from her enchantment.  In despair, the Prince runs to the lake to search for her.

The swan maidens are anxiously awaiting Odette’s return when she runs in and tells them in anguish of Siegfried’s betrayal.  The evil magician Rothbart has triumphed and there is no salvation for the swan maidens now.  A storm springs up on the lake.   The Prince comes running to the lakeside and begs Odette to forgive him, but Odette is destined to die.  The Prince fights and overcomes Von Rothbart, and at last the swan maidens are freed from the evil spell, and the souls of Siegfried and Odette are united in eternal happiness.

Get your fancy hats and water shoes ready: Lakeland's annual Swan Derby is April 26

LAKELAND — There's still time to assemble your fanciest swan-themed outfits before the 17th annual Lakeland Swan Derby takes over Lake Mirror next week.

The Lakeland Swan Derby is an annual fundraiser for Lakeland Volunteers in Medicine, which provides free medical care for working Polk County residents without health insurance and on a limited income. It provided nearly 30,000 patient visits in 2022 with more than $8 million in services provided.

Here's what you need to know about the 2024 Swan Derby:

Where is it?

Where: Frances Langford Promenade at Lake Mirror, April 26 from 5:30 to 9 p.m.

Cost: Free to attend.

Parking: Lakeland Electric parking garage, at 501 E. Lemon St., also accessible from East Orange Street. There will also be limited public parking on the east side of the Lake Mirror Complex. Valet parking is available for sponsors only in the Magnolia Building parking lot.

Timeline: Off to the races

5:30 p.m.: Gates open.

6:15 p.m.: Maiden Handicap race featuring local non-profit teams.

6:50 p.m.: Derby Dash featuring the Leaders of Polk teams.

7:15 p.m.: Parade featuring the teams in the Swan Derby.

7:45 p.m.: Swan Derby race begins.

9 p.m.: Fireworks.

Other ways to participate

Those who would like to show their support for LVIM without participating in the derby can purchase a 2024 Super Ticket at $20 per ticket. Individuals can choose which of 12 prize packages their ticket will be entered for, ranging from a gym membership at Will Power Fitness with personal training sessions to a three-course dinner with a bottle of wine at Terrace Hotel. Other prizes include $500 gift cards for Rooms To Go and Publix.

Tickets can be purchased online at lvim.net and the individual does not need to be present at the Swan Derby to claim their prize. Winners will be contacted to pick up their prize after the event.

There is also a Derby Hat contest in which attendees are encouraged to wear their best swan-themed hat.

Being only my second ever Ballet and following on the foot steps of the enchanting and very emotional Manon, Swan Lake had an awful lot to live up too. That’s an odd thing to say about a world famous Ballet.

During my last ballet encounter I found myself falling head over heels in love with the ballet. With its ability to command such emotions through expertly choreographed dance, and an orchestra that could have you holding your breath with the drama of the score.

Love at first sight is tricky kind of love, will it live up to its expectations the second time around. Would I still feel so enchanted by the beauty the ballet?

The Moscow City Ballets presentation of Swan Lake was spellbinding and the perfect Ballet to confirm that indeed Ballet is an art I aim to enjoy at every possible opportunity. And that it is never to later to discover love for a new art.

Swan Lake starts out at Prince Siegfried’s 21st birthday (Daniil Orlov) where he is told that coming of age is a serious affair and he must find a wife.  A Ball has been arranged for the very next evening and there, where a group of beautiful and carefully selected young ladies are invited as prospective fiancées, he must choose a bride.

Siegfried has no desire to marry, wanting to maintain his youth and freedom. His good friend Benno (Dzmitry Lazovik) in his endeavour to cheer him up points to a flock of wild swans in flight and suggests a hunting expedition.

During the hunt Siegfried is drawn to a captivating white swan who transforms into the most beautiful young woman. She is Odette, Queen of the Swans (Liliya Orekhova). The evil sorcerer Von Rothbart (Talgat Kozhabaev) had put her under a spell, where by day she and her friends must remain swans, but between midnight and dawn they return to their human form.

The spell dictates that only the pure love of a young man can remove the curse. Captivated by her beauty Siegfried instantly falls in love with Odette and feels confident his love will destroy the spell. However dawn arrives and Odette must return to the lake and return to her swan form. The lovers bid farewell with the hope that the spell with be broken. However Rothbart plots to make the Prince break his vow.

As soon as the Orchestra started to play Swan Lake had drawn me in. The enchanting score that was first penned by Tchaikovsky in 1871 and the Ballet first performed in 1877 draws you in to a world of breathtaking music telling the tale of heartbreak and despair, yet is portrayed in the most beautiful way.

It’s mind-blowing to think audiences were enjoying this very same ballet 142 years ago. That the beauty of the music and dance has stood the test of time, to allow us to be enchanted by the very same score all these years later.

The choreography and timing was perfect, when you are faced with in excess of 20 swans in costumes that are every little ballet loving girls dreams, and quite frankly some adults too! It’s apparent there is not an inch of room for error. Yet every step and graceful hand movement was perfectly delivered in a way that had you holding your breath in disbelief.

Swan Lake is the epitome of grace, elegance and perfection that’s draws you in and has you feeling as if you are the only person in the audience. The music has a mesmerising calming effect on your soul, which enables you to forget everything in the world apart from what is going on right there on that stage. I honestly never believed anything had the ability to demand my concentration to such a level. And I left the theatre despite the sad overtone of the story feeling calm and uplifted having experienced such beauty on every level.
