Welcome Aboard
The Sag Harbor Yacht Club has been a colorful fixture on the waterfront of the historic village of Sag Harbor since 1899.
The Clubs' mission is "To serve our members, the yachting community and the Community at Large." With its beautifully maintained docks accommodating large and small vessels of both sail and power, its spectacular Fourth of July fireworks display, the annual Maycroft Cup Regatta and its many contributions to our local organizations, the Sag Harbor Yacht Club more than fulfills its mission's mandate. The Club provides dockage, fuel, water, and services both to transient boaters and its members from April through November. SHYC is the perfect destination for boaters visiting Sag Harbor for the first time and for our valued guests who return year after year.
The quaint club house building located in the center of the dock facilities has served as a village landmark since 1914 and is a fond reminder of the area's maritime heritage. With membership comprised mostly of local residents, the Club plays a significant role in the economic, cultural and social life of Sag Harbor. Its ardent sailors extend the Club’s influence with their successes in world class races, while members, flying the club's burgee, continually cruise the waters of the World.
The Sag Harbor Yacht Club is truly a gem in one of our country's loveliest communities. The Club is just a five minute walk to the center of Sag Harbor’s Main Street and a short car or bike ride to the Hamptons. Conveniently located in the center of Long Island’s South Fork, Sag Harbor is also close to many historic sites, vineyards, farms, mansions, scenic vistas and some of the World's best beaches.

Commodore Welcome
Welcome to 2023 and a New Year at the SeaGate Yacht Club! I am thrilled and honored to be the 2023 Commodore. I am joined by Grace Toy as our Vice Commodore and Chris Johnson-Pasqua as our Rear Commodore. Together we are working hard to provide our members with a full calendar of events both on land and by sea.
We have monthly events that range from themed Happy Hours to daytime Duffy Brunch, dock parties, and this year, we are proud to bring back a member favorite, our Commodore’s Cruise to Ensenada onboard the ship of a world-renowned cruiseline. Every year, we proudly enter a member-decorated boat into the Huntington Harbour Holiday Boat Parade, one of the biggest events of the year.
We want to invite all SeaGate Community residents and neighbors to join us. See you on the water!

Our Mission
To create a strong community through access to the outdoors through sailing, great cuisine, amazing drinks and rich fellowship.
Tl:Dr Anyone can come to our club and enjoy the facilities. Club members, for a nominal annual fee, get a significant discount on their drinks and food at the club. They will, also, as we build the fleet, have access to sailing lessons and an opportunity to sail the boats on their own. The only qualification for membership is that you want to learn, try and have fun.
As we understand it, in 1877 a group of Oysterville residents got together and formed the Shoalwater Bay Yacht Club. The club was focused on organizing a race on July 4 th , of that year, to Celebrate our country’s independence and see who the best sailor was on the Willapa (then Shoalwater) Bay. A pretty normal American activity: celebrate with a competition. Over the next few years the club and event prospered. However, as boats shifted from power to sail, the club died. Now we are restarting the club!
