Using the Prodim Systems Proliner 3-D technology we consistently get measurements that are accurate to within 1/32 of an inch. With Proliner technology firmly anchoring the Eclipse design process, we can offer a comprehensive digital template of a vessel. This can easily be exchanged with other designers and tradespeople who are also involved in the yacht refit, which saves our clients time and money.

All of our digital measurements are archived, so we can offer the option of ordering replacement pieces should a cushion fly off the deck or if there is an unexpected spillage. Whatever the reason, we have the ability to send new yacht upholstery wherever our clients are anchored.

My experience with Eclipse has been exceptional. During my first visit to the shop I was impressed by the scale and capabilities for the facility. I was more impressed by Joy Hutchinson's investment in modern tools, process, and talent, which is refreshing in an industry that generally adheres to the status quo. All of the work performed for us to date by EC has been of exceptional quality, delivered on time and with no drama. EC's investment in CAD/CAM provides tangible benefits in way of client and designer understanding during planning stages, by provision of isometric drawings which can be further developed into high quality renders. Production accuracy is better assured, with the ability to repeat exactly according to the original work. If a client elects to change the fabric at a future point in time, the digitized patterns enable reproducing the work without the need to access the vessel and manually generate new templates. This is also significant in way of repairs/replacement of items where the vessel is located away from the facility locale. Planning flexibility is also significant, as it allows for gains by virtue to have the digitizing performed well ahead of the required production/delivery dates. If a project timeline or vessels itinerary changes, the requirement to schedule and execute manual patterning has been eliminated, and it is only a matter of initiating production. Additionally, if a vessel is engaged in the owners use or charter, the production can be performed while the vessel is in use, to result in the items being available immediately upon the vessels return. I feel that the elements described will benefit those who recognize the tangible benefits of an optimized approach, and I would highly recommend Eclipse be considered for any project where a high level of quality and performance is required

Michael, we all thank you for taking time to write your insightful review. You recognize some of the issues in our industry which drove us to develop our CAD system in the first place. A preview for the boat, showing cushions layout changes or weather cover design helps confirm we understand their needs. The seasonal overloads we all experience moved us to create our system to accommodate a more year-round timetable. Cushions and covers work can continue, using our detailed information, even while the yacht is inaccessible. It's heartening to know it is noticed.

Working with Joy was an absolute pleasure. Her attention to detail and pride of ownership is parallel to none. It's truly hard to find a person with her and her teams work ethic. I would always recommend her for any large project. If you have a yacht and looking for quality work give her a call.

I was referred to Joy's company Eclipse Canvas (I believe she may be the owner) last week on Friday. When I called everything seemed pretty normal. She asked the basic questions, name of boat, location of boat, ect, I provided all the answers to her questions. Joy asked me to call back on Monday so that we could get a measuring appointment scheduled. During our conversation she was talking to someone else in her office half of the time and seemed very distracted. On the next Monday that she asked me to call I placed another call to schedule an appointment. At the end of the call even though our boat was literally across the street she asked if I could fetch a photo of our vessel so that she could base a quote on an image (which she said she could scale herself). While we were on the call I found an image and sent it to her. I asked her to confirm that she had my email. She said yes. She said to give her a 1-2 days to come back to me with a quote. I gave her 4 days (2 extra) and when I called her, she asked me if I had sent her the image (are you kidding me she already confirmed previously in the last call that she had it). Owe then she said she found it. She opened the email up again during my Thursday 12-10-15 phone call and asked if I had a straighter image not an image at an angle so that she could do a scale (this would have been nice to know 4 days ago when she opened the email for the first time). I said sure let me get you another photo. I asked her to wait a moment while I sent her another photo, while on the phone with her I asked when I could have an estimate back after sending the latest photo. She said sometime next week (however not a precise time was given). I literally felt as if she was blowing me off. If you can't or don't want to service a customer simply let them know and don't pretend with all this wasted time. There are plenty of companies that want the work and that will act professional. When I asked for a specific date that I could have an estimate back by she hung up the phone on me and said she couldn't do the work that she was to busy. I would recommend anyone that considers this company to think long and hard prior to moving forward. You are likely to get the run around and spend more time chasing your tail. It is my belief that companies like this need to move right out of the marketplace. Customers have options and service is not optional!

[ Joy] Yes, I have been the owner for 38 years. 12/4/15 at 4pm - Friday afternoon was your first phone call. At the time we were involved in deliveries prior to departures of 2 large projects. Impending bad weather had moved their trips up. "On the next Monday that she asked me to call I placed another call to schedule an appointment." [ Joy] I make a point of personally answering morning phone calls as our clients are equally busy and their calls frequently involve necessary updates. Brevity is key. "At the end of the call even though our boat was literally across the street she asked if I could fetch a photo" [ Joy] I asked for a GA [general arrangement] which is a file commonly held on large yachts. All our projects utilize this valuable file to assist in organizing large projects, both interior and exterior areas. Our patterns are made utilizing 3-D computers onboard and all patterns are made in CAD so scaling drawings is part of our process. The image sent was not a GA, rather a brochure photo of the boat underway. I'm sure this misunderstanding is a result of unfamiliarity with a GA. My apologies for any confusion although I did tell you on the Friday afternoon phone call that we were not taking any additional work until after New Year's. At the time you said you were able to wait but wanted a quote. I asked for a GA as the fastest way to work up a project budget. I understand you were referred by another company rather than thru our website. This would explain you're not understanding that our focus is on refits for yachts over 100'. This information is also stated on our Yelp page. We work closely with several other companies who specialize in Sunseeker yachts and always refer new customers to them. Tip Top Canvas would be happy to assist you - I believe they work closely with the manufacturer also. My apologies for this but your insistence made further conversation quite impossible. Our current clients had contacted us months in advance to allow us to properly plan and had provided their GA plus lists to assist in reserving fabrics, etc. All companies have their specialties where they perform most effectively. My sincere apologies for not conveying ours more clearly. The large projects we work with plan well ahead and understand that pre-holiday time is not practical to begin a new client relationship. Everyone is extremely busy. "Customers have options and service is not optional!" [ Joy] Very true - especially in the very competitive yachting capital of the world.

Eclipse is a high tech canvas that employs laser scanning and pattern digitalization to create absolutely form fitting master pieces. As part of a retrofit project we commissioned several new canvas works and the Owners could not be more pleased. Each piece is self draining and breathing. A tremendous amount of thought goes into how each piece will be used, installed, removed and even accessed where needed. The end result is top notch. We have worked with Eclipse on numerous projects but it was also great to be further validated by this new crew and project. The team is very professional, self-sufficient, tidy and clearly understands the end goal. Definitely a quality driven operation with very competitive pricing. The cushions are also amazing and should not be overlooked. After all, this is perhaps one area whereupon the owners and guests will have the most physical contact with their vessel and the little details matter most. Eclipse receives our highest endorsement and look forward to working with them again.
