New to charter?

The Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA) is due at the time of the final charter payment. Under MYBA terms, this sum is usually equivalent to 30 per cent of the total charter fee, but may be up to 40 per cent in some cases.

Intended to cover the operating expenses of a charter as explained under Charter Terms, such as fuel, food, drinks, port fees and ad hoc incidentals, the APA will be given to the captain before the start of your charter. The Captain will ensure that the yacht is fully fuelled and provisioned when you step on board. While an up-to-date summary of accounts can be requested at any time during your charter, a full set of accounts will normally be submitted by your captain at the end of the cruise. If, during the charter, the expenditure exceeds the sum already paid, additional cash funds will be required at once.

All outstanding bills from the yacht charter should be settled in cash or by bank transfer before your final disembarkation. Of course, any remaining credit at the end of your charter will be reimbursed to you in full. On request, transfer arrangements to and from the yacht can be made by Burgess or by the yacht’s captain, payment for which will be deducted from your APA.

For most Ibiza yacht charters to be secured, you will usually need to provide a completed charter agreement and 50% of the charter fee as a deposit. This is payable once the contract has been signed.

You will have a greater variety of yachts to pick from if you decide to start your charter in Ibiza or Mallorca compared to mainland destinations. Whilst Barcelona certainly has a considerable array of yachts to choose from, it is not as extensive as the islands. 

We also strongly recommend that you book your yacht charter in Ibiza at least three months in advance to ensure you get the yacht you desire. The longer you leave it, you'll find you'll have less choice available.

There is a yacht to suit almost every budget in Ibiza so rest assured that you will find a vessel suitable to your requirements.

But when booking do keep in mind the costs that aren't included in the base rate, namely VAT and the APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance). The APA is usually paid in advance of the charter and is commonly set at 30% of the charter fee. This allowance covers expenses such as fuel, berthing, food and drinks, as well as any special requests. 

Please consult your yacht charter broker for any other costs you may need to factor in.

May through till October is the best time to visit the sun-drenched shores of Ibiza. Temperatures can rise to a heady 31 degrees in July and August, with its waters reaching 26 degrees respectively.

Yachts will need to obtain a Spanish charter licence in order to cruise Ibizan waters, this is applicable if you are beginning or ending your charter in Spain.

• If you are booking for a single day and your reservation is confirmed more than 7 days in advance, a deposit of either $1,000 USD or 50% of the total cost of the reservation (whichever is greater) is processed immediately in order to hold the yacht. Once your embarkation date is 7 days away, the remainder of the amount due is processed.
• If you are booking for a single day and your reservation is made 7 days or less in advance, the total price of your reservation is processed immediately.
• If you are booking for a multi-day charter and your reservation is confirmed more than 30 days in advance, a deposit of 50% of the cost of the yacht is processed immediately in order to hold the yacht. Once your embarkation date is 30 days away, the other 50% is collected for the price of the yacht, plus the APA, plus the taxes due.

Terms of refunds are dictated by the Charter Agreement. Generally, once a payment is collected, it is non-refundable. In certain circumstances, as dictated by the Charter Agreement, credits can be provided so you will be able to enjoy your yacht charter at a future date that is convenient for you.

Just off the coast of Ibiza, Formentera is the smallest and most southerly of the Balearic Islands measuring around 20 km long and about 2 km wide. The beaches have some of the whitest sand that you can find in the Mediterranean and the sea is clear and a beautiful shade of turquoise. There’s a reason that it is often compared to islands in the Caribbean. There isn’t an airport, which helps to make the island even more exclusive, as you can only get there by boat. You can get to Formentera by boat in less than an hour from Ibiza Town and in only a few hours from San Antonio. The Modern Art Museum has found its unique location in two  underground chambers of the former Arsenal, built in the city walls.  Below the city walls is the late 16th century church of Santo Domingo,  commonly known as El Convent, with its paintings on the vaulted ceiling,  frescoes on the walls and the most impressive Baroque altar.

In 1992 this region was given special protection as a nature reserve.  Plata de Salines is Ses Salines' beach and one of the most popular  spot, one section of which has been designated for nudists.

We had one of the best days of our lives, it was pure magic! I wanted to surprise my wife for her 40th. Claudia was amazing and took care of all the details to ensure we had an amazing time. On the day of our Skipper Freddy was the most gracious host, full of knowledge and great recommendations. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND you have this experience in Ibiza!!!

We had the 47 Cranchi with Güido! We initially ordered a yacht for 11 but change to this yacht cause i missed my counting. Their team was so good that they gave me another option instead of cancelling the highlight of my Bachelorette’s party. They made sure that I can enjoy and have fun! They even helped us arrange for our lunch in Can Carlitos and it was superb! Güido was patience (we were 12 and loud), helpful, accomodating and very friendly and go getter to us! He even pushed our paddle board for us to reach the beach line cause not all of us know how to swim. Over all, this team is hands down VERY GOOD! I can definitely say i’ll come back in Ibiza and book them again! Thank you, Güido and the whole team! You guys are awesome!

Easy communication with the contact person. There was even sun screen lotions provided for us on top of the drinks and towels. Captain Güido was very accomodating. He even booked us a table to this local restaurant Can Carlitos which was heaven of good food. The yacht is very spacious even for big group - there was 12 of us. There are two toilets but only one was working. This wasn’t a problem at all. They also have 2 SUP boards available for us to use. We had nothing to complain about. We had an amazing time in the boat and with Güido’s company. 100% we will book again. Thanks Güido for a lovely boat experience in Ibiza!

1. How do I chose a boat to rent?

Think about how many people your group will be, what you would like to do on the charter and how much time you will need. Match the boat to your budget and don’t forget to include fuel consumption. We put an expected daily fuel cost on each boat page. A motor yacht will get you further, but a sailing boat might bring a more peaceful experience.

2. How do I book?

If you know which boat you want, you can book via its page and put down your 50% deposit. As well as via the boat pages, bookings can be made through our website contact page, or you can contact us. Try to give us as much information as possible, including dates, budget, the boat(s) you’re interested in chartering, number of passengers and anything else you think is important. To confirm the booking we need all of your details including your name, address, contact number, email and ID number or passport.

3. What is included in the price?

Each boat is different, so check the individual pages for full details, but every boat charter will normally include: Skipper, Drinks (Water, beers and soft drinks), Snacks, Towels, Cleaning, Snorkelling Equipment, Paddle board, Bluetooth music connection and Insurance. The following are not included and will depend on your individual boat charter: Fuel, Extra or special drinks, Water toys and Catering. Please contact us with any special requests or requirements when you book.

4. How far in advance should I book my boat charter?

Book as early as possible to ensure you can charter the boat you want. Remember, there are often discounts to be had if you book far enough in advance.

5. How do i pay?

We take a 50% deposit by bank transfer or Stripe when you book. The remaining 50%, along with fuel and any extras, is paid in cash or by card on the day of your charter.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM YOUR

Ibiza yacht charter.

We are dedicated to working with our clients to create the best Ibiza yacht charter experience possible, letting the boat operator concentrate on what they do best, keeping the boat and crew ship-shape and ready to welcome you. If in the unlikely event that anything goes wrong on your charter, we are here to offer solutions and options that booking with an owner/operator directly or via an online website without an on-the-ground presence, does not offer. We also craft bespoke charter holidays, special and corporate events, restaurant reservations and organise watersports including flyboarding lessons, Seabobs and other water toys, so you can make the most of your yacht charter in Ibiza.

CHARTER DAY START TIMINGS

A normal crewed Ibiza yacht charter day starts at around 11am. Dependent on the operator is around 8 hours although some operators charge a supplement for additional hours, others suggest giving the crew an extra tip for staying out later than their usual working day. For day charter, the boats must be back in the port/marina by sunset. Overnight charters require departure from the boat on the last day at around 08:30.

HOW MANY GUESTS ON-BOARD?

Different boats have different licenses and this is what dictates the number of guests and crew. In Spain usually the maximum number for a charter is 12. If you are a party of more than 12, you may rent two boats, we call this tandem. When you stop, the boats can moor close to each other and you can go between boats. You can also opt for a support rib instead for the extra guests.

MUSIC ON-BOARD

Most boats have either a cable or bluetooth connection to the on-board music systems. Some boats have a club-like sound system, others strategically placed speakers, so you can hear your music from your iPhone or device.

PROVISIONING

Each operator is different but most provide soft drinks, water, ice, some also provide beers, a few bottles of wine and cava. Some include fruit and snacks such as olives, cheese etc. We will tell you what is included in your charter and arrange for any extras you might need, such as great wines from our wine partner or from the supermarket at cost. For sleep aboard charters, we’ll help organise a provisions list.

RESTAURANT RESERVATIONS

If you would like to go to a specific restaurant on a certain day, it is necessary to reserve a table. We can help reserve tables for you at most restaurants in Ibiza or Formentera including Moli de Sal, Juan y Andrea, Chezz Gerdi, Blue Marlin, Cotton Club, subject to availability at time of booking. Some including Beso Beach require online booking and a deposit per person.

SUNSET IN IBIZA

Ibiza town is on the south-east side of the island and as the sun sets in the west on the San Antonio side, the true postcard sunset is not in Ibiza town. To get a good view of the sun setting on this side, we recommend clients returning to Ibiza town opt to watch the sunset near Cap des Falco with the fantastic view of the sun setting, with the iconic island of Es Vedra behind. Please remember as the sun goes down, the waves often tend to pick up making the journey back to port a little bumpy. Handy Ibiza sunset times here.

SLEEP ABOARD

For overnight/sleeping aboard charters, the number of guests is regulated by licensing and determined by the number of berths available for guests and crew. There are boats with 3 up to 7 cabins. Your captain will find the best spot that is sheltered from the wind.
