Our 16 m2 master suite is located on the main deck, is spacious and decorated with high quality materials. Has large windows an ample bathroom and a king-size bed.

Choose this small cruise ship for her one-to-one guest-to-guide ratio and for a luxurious Galapagos experience. Passion is revered for her open spaces, offering four decks for only 14 guests and at least one bathtub in nearly every cabin. She also is unconventional in that she is solidly built of marine steel instead of the more common fiberglass and has two electronic stabilizers that keep her a comfortable and safe option for Galapagos travelers.

Common Areas Aboard Passion

Motor Yacht Passion is one of the largest charter yachts in the Galapagos, boasting a length of 159 feet spread over four decks. She has generous space for her 14 passengers, with ample interior and exterior social areas including a panoramic sky lounge with bar and sliding glass doors and a separate dining room. The Passion has an impressive 2,000-plus square feet of fine teak wood decking, with a secluded sun deck featuring lounge chairs and a Jacuzzi.

Dining Aboard Passion

The first-class galley produces gourmet cuisine of international standards, with a stainless steel galley kitchen and walk-in freezer facilitating a great variety of dishes. Breakfast, lunch and dinner can be served al fresco if the weather allows, to enjoy the amazing views of the Galapagos Islands where sunsets and moon rises are stunning. Water, coffee, tea and natural juices are all available on board, and vegetarian and vegan diets can be accommodated with advance notice.

Crew & Guides Aboard Passion

With a service ratio of one crew member per guest, she ensures a service second to none. Guiding is in English and Spanish, with supplement options of German, French and Italian. Every guide aboard has level 3 guiding certifications, making them experts in their field and one of the first lines of conservation on the islands. The crew members know the seas and islands well, as many are Galapagos natives.

Activities Aboard Passion

Kayak through mangrove forests alongside iconic wildlife and snorkel to get up-close encounters with underwater treasures. Kayaks, snorkeling equipment and wetsuits are included. Massages (additional fee) are available upon request.

Cabins & Deck Plan Aboard Passion

There are five spacious staterooms and a Master and VIP Suite. All cabins are fully air-conditioned with amenities like hair dryers, high-definition TV systems, 110/220 volt outlets and USB chargers. Light laundry service is available (additional fee).

Five staterooms feature private baths including a bathtub with shower (Stateroom 5 shower only). Stateroom 1 has a queen bed; Stateroom 5 has a convertible king bed; Stateroom 2 has two twin beds; and Staterooms 3 and 4 have a full- and twin-size bed each.

These suites have king beds, two private bathrooms each (his and hers) and a private lounge area. The Master Suite is located at the bow of the ship on the same deck as the dining room and lounge. The VIP Suite is located at the stern of the ship on the same deck as the staterooms.

This was the trip of a lifetime and it could not have been better. It greatly exceeded our expectations in every moment from start to finish. I definitely recommend to everyone to do a small boat Galapagos tour. Eight days was just the right amount of time, though we hated to leave!

Everywhere we went was breathtaking. I loved everything about this trip. The level of activity; two hikes and two snorkels per day!

We did the 8-day West Itinerary on M/Y Passion and it exceeded our expectations. Having everything booked and taken care of was amazing and totally worth it! Galapagos has been a place we wanted to experience for a long time and I wanted to do it right.

The Galapagos Islands, and the trip we planned, exceeded my expectations. I got to see all the things I dreamed of, and the accommodations and logistics all ran smoothly thanks to a great team.

This was the trip of a lifetime and it could not have been better. It greatly exceeded our expectations in every moment from start to finish. I definitely recommend to everyone to do a small boat Galapagos tour. Eight days was just the right amount of time, though we hated to leave! The rest of the travelers on our trip were  wonderful. Everyone was pleasant and easygoing. We will no doubt stay in contact with several of the other couples. Everyone that likes a trip with a bit of adventure and a bit of luxury should do a tour of the Galapagos. Especially if you like science and nature. This was a trip we've dreamed of for several years. We decided in 2019 that we would do the Galapagos in May of 2022 to celebrate our son's college graduation. Our family are all nature and science lovers.

Accommodations Review

The Passion with 15 passengers was just the right size. It was neat, clean, comfortable, and had a nice layout. Our suites were a nice size. The boat is big enough to find a secluded spot to sit and read or watch the water. Some of the décor is outdated, but all is well maintained and functional.

Meals Review

We ate all the time! Everyone looked forward to the snacks and meals. The food and service were gourmet first class. A lot of local dishes made eating interested and tasty. The chef accommodated the picky eaters and those with food sensitivities.

Crew & Guides Review

Rafael was friendly, smart and informative. He was extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic in all areas of science and nature related to the Galapagos. He did a super job of timing our excursions so that we were rarely around other groups and saw so much wildlife. One of our fellow travelers has a PhD in geology, and she was amazed at how much Rafael knew about the geology. Rafa also kept a watchful eye on the ocean when we were voyaging to other places which led to several sightings of whales and dolphins.

Itinerary Review

[We most enjoyed] It's hard to say because everything was so amazing. Snorkeling with penguins, iguanas, turtles and a variety of fish was our favorite. [We least enjoyed] Nothing. The airport was a bit chaotic, but that's almost by definition!

Transportation Review

We made our own transportation arrangements to and from Quito and for our few days in Quito. Andrew at AdventureSmith made sure that the plans I made seamlessly led right in to the main part of the trip.

AdventureSmith Explorations Review

Everything was so carefully planned and laid out. We never felt unsure about the next step. All of the fees, and expenses were completely and accurately take care of. They gave us excellent advice on tipping the crew and guides, which can be awkward. They even arranged our return trip mandatory COVID test to be done at our hotel. I already have told several friends and acquaintances about our marvelous experience and how AdventureSmith took great care of us.

Traveler Advice

Definitely do the Galapagos on a small boat with 20 or less travelers and a top notch crew. We got to see and do so much on our excursions because we were able to quickly get into the small launches and get to the island or snorkeling spot. We became friends with all the staff and other passengers so that the trip was comfortable and relaxed.

Everywhere we went was breathtaking. I loved everything about this trip. The level of activity; two hikes and two snorkels per day! [The Galapagos] has been on my bucket list for years!!! I had no idea of the vastness of knowledge required, hard work and commitment involved in keeping these islands as pristine as they are today. I humbly thank you all for doing what you do.

Since this was my first solo trip out of the country I was a bit concerned about what I might expect. I thought I might be on a vessel with all 70-year-old couples but as it turned out I think I was the oldest one on the trip. The variety of guests was a breath of fresh air. Some were from the United States and some were Ecuadorian. We even had a couple with a little six-year-old boy who was quite the highlight of the trip. It was very interesting to listen to everyone’s stories regarding some of the things that they had done for work, etc.

All I could say is I was so pleased with the accommodations and everything. I took pictures and show them to my friends and they could not believe the yacht that I was on.

I enjoyed that I had the opportunity to experience some Ecuadorian cuisine and everything was very tasty and tender and delicious.

Just that they should be prepared for the best trip ever!! 

Taylor was like my private coordinator. I was always asking her questions and she was very quick and thorough with responses and would even anticipate what the next question might be. Her demeanor is very helpful, warm and welcoming. Sometimes I would think to myself I can’t believe all that she is doing for me. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Taylor C.

Crew & Guides Review 

Luis, our naturalist, was so extremely knowledgeable, sweet and considerate. Since I was traveling solo and not very experienced at snorkeling he would take my hand and point sea life out to me. Luis gave a presentation every evening before dinner, complete with slides of explanations of what we were going to see and the schedule for the next day. I cannot compliment Luis enough. He was extremely knowledgeable and very kind, considerate and compassionate to everyone on the trip. He took his job/responsibility very seriously. Was always concerned for everyone's safety. Amazing!!!!!

We did the 8-day West Itinerary on M/Y Passion and it exceeded our expectations. Everything from the ship, crew, our guide, and the places we visited were outstanding. The flexibility over everyone (including other passengers) allowed us to have the best experience. Having everything booked and taken care of was amazing and totally worth it! I feel we got lucky and all the other passengers were great. We all got along and had similar enjoyment of the activities. On such a small tour, this is important! Galapagos has been a place we wanted to experience for a long time and I wanted to do it right. To get the best experience, I knew we needed to do an 8-day live-aboard with the smallest amount of passengers. It was totally worth the money spent.

M/Y Passion is an older vessel but they take great pride and care in it. I'm glad we chose Stateroom 5 as it was above deck and we avoided engine noise and were able to regulate temperature in the room easily (the AC was COLD). Everything else was in tip-top shape!

I really can't say enough about the chef. No main dishes were repeated. The food was excellent and plentiful. Everything was tasty and presented beautifully. I loved the Ecuadorian dishes. I was very impressed with their creativity and being able to accommodate a passenger who could not have dairy or gluten, without making them feel like they missed out on something. There is nothing that could be improved from my experience with that chef.

If I could give something higher that excellent I would. We had Rafael, who grew up on islands and is an ornithologist (studies bird, specifically sea birds). His knowledge and experience about everything Galapagos is unmatched. His passion and enthusiasm is infectious. He was genuinely excited when spotting things for us and teaching about everything. His goal was to make us feel like we had the islands to ourselves for a trip of a lifetime and he delivered. Even though you can't avoid other tours, he worked the schedule to time visits to get the most personal experience possible. This sometimes meant our morning snorkel was before breakfast but totally worth it!

The only arrangement made were our Galapagos flights to and from mainland Ecuador and it was all easy.

[We most enjoyed] The variety of snorkeling because we were able to see everything on the list! I loved to see specific species both on land and under the water. For example: snorkeling with marine iguanas feeding on algae and swimming, then visiting a place where there are hundreds of them sunning themselves in an island. [We least enjoyed] If I had to pick one it would probably be the visit to Floreana Island to see the tortoises in the highlands. After seeing the giant on Santa Cruz the day before it was a little underwhelming. The hike and learning about the original settlers was fascinating though. I'm glad we did the stop but it is not one I would need to repeat if I went again.

Lauren was amazing. Everything was so well prepared, I didn't worry about anything and whenever I had a specific question, she would contact the tour company and get it answered to me better prepare for the trip. For example, I knew things not included (alcohol, tips) were cash only on the boat. She was able to get me exact pricing for those things so we knew how much to bring. Were were way more prepared than some of fellow passengers! I also especially appreciate all of the ongoing communication, travel tips, and updates.

I normally make all of my travel arrangements and bookings because I enjoy researching and figuring it all out. Visiting the Galapagos is expensive and I wanted to do it right. Having Lauren do the work for this part of our trip was amazing and she is top notch! When the time comes to go to Antarctica, I will call on AdventureSmith Explorations again!

Spend the extra money and book a small vessel (no more than 16 people). You will get more time to see the sights. I also suggest an 8-day itinerary because it gets you to the outermost islands. Must have items: good sunscreen, sun hat, sun shirt, sea sickness medication, sense of adventure, and flexibility.

The Galapagos Islands, and the trip we planned, exceeded my expectations. I got to see all the things I dreamed of, and the accommodations and logistics all ran smoothly thanks to a great team.

I've only demoted it to "very good" because our shower did not not have great water pressure and we would run out of hot water if all the guests went to shower at the same time, and our boat was only at half capacity. I had to time my shower when I thought no one else would be using theirs. We also had a hard time controlling the temperature in the room. The AC would pump from an overhead vent and despite mentioning the problem to the crew it did not seem to improve. They also didn't have fins in my size, and Im a standard small to medium, and we were at half capacity. These are all very minor complaints....only mentioned if they are looking for areas to improve. They boat and crew really were amazing.

Im a biologist so visiting the Galapagos has always been a dream of mine. We were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary so decided to take one of our bucket list trips. I enjoyed the snorkeling most because I love all things marine bio and love being in the water. Swimming up close to sea lions, cormorants, penguins, and marine iguanas are my favorite memories. My biggest disappointment was on the first morning we were supposed to snorkel at Devil's Crown but the guide changed our location to Champions Islet. I was pretty disappointed because I had mainly based this boat for this itinerary which included that snorkel site. Other boats were visiting it, so it wasn't because conditions would not allow, it was simply guide preference. Champions Islet turned out to be amazing, and I had a great time snorkeling there; but all the research and planning that goes into a trip like this, and then to have the first snorkeling excursion changed on you for personal preference was a hard pill to swallow. I wondered if he was basing his decision on the abilities of the rest of the guests, when my husband and I are strong swimmers and really wanted to snorkel there. I eventually got over it, and the guide probably made the right choice for various reasons. And no sites/excursions were bad, but my least favorite were the tortoise breeding center and human history on Floreana.

The food was amazing. There was not a single dish I did not like, and while I normally don't consume that much food I never felt uncomfortable due to its freshness and excellent preparation.

We handled our own transportation in Quito and to/from the airports; but your arrangement with the ship and airlines for all of those details was seamless.

Our guide was Fernando and he is from Ecuador and has been guiding/working in the Galapagos for 30ish years. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. Seemed to take a low key approach which made it feel like a vacation and not just an educational field trip.

Lauren did great. She answered all my questions in a very timely manner. She was honest and transparent and I appreciate that. We seemed more prepared and to have better knowledge of the ship and what to expect than many of our shipmates, so thank you.

Go!  Don't walk, RUN! It's worth every penny and lives up to all the hype, and then some.

The weather in the archipelago, although its located on the Equator line is determined by two marked seasons that are the Dry Season due to the influence of the colder Humboldt Current that goes from June to November known as the garua with a temperature of 22 ° C (72 ° F) and the Warm Season from  December to May, thanks to the high  Temperatures of El Niño phenomenon 25 ° C (77 ° F)).

Hi Veronica, The cruise in the Galapagos on the Angelito was wonderful. The accommodations, food, itinerary and crew were excellent. We would highly recommend the same trip to others. The stay in the Vieja Cuba however was not as pleasant. The hotel is very cute and clean, and the staff was very polite. However, the hotel is very loud! We recommend that the hotel post signs instructing guests and staff to "please be quiet - guests are sleeping" (maybe 11pm - 6am). This would certainly help to make the hotel more enjoyable. We unfortunately did not rest well either night at the hotel due to loud guests late in the evening (after 2am.), and loud staff in the morning. We would not recommend the Viejo Cuba hotel. Galápagos Passion | Galapagos Yacht

The Galapagos Passion Yacht, a family boat purchased in Italy by Galapagueno Fidi Angermeyer. Upon arrival in Ecuador, it was rebuilt in Guayaquil shipyards to meet the needs of expedition cruising in the archipelago which inspired Charles Darwin. This boat is a reflection of his passion for transforming classic luxury boats into large-sized touring yachts. His passion for the Galapagos islands was what fuelled the Passion liveaboard. He has once again raised the standards of luxury cruising in the Galapagos. Fidi continues to push the limits with his healthy passion and marine craftmanship. Important to note is that the Galapagos Passion was renovated with infrastructure that considers nature conservation and care for the unique wildlife of these islands. This is part of the Angermeyer's DNA. The Passion Yacht supports Wild Aid and other entities working to protect this wilderness sanctuary in the Pacific Ocean.

The Passion is a luxuriously furnished, VIP-oriented, exclusive liveaboard. She features a large social area, a sky lounge (sundeck) and bar (bridgedeck), as well as separate dining and enormous sun decks. There's also a private solarium with a plunge swimming pool and lounge chairs in the relaxation area. Each of the four spacious staterooms has its own bathroom. When I had to pull myself away, Evolve was the best possible place to rest and recharge. Equipped with an outdoor rain shower, beds worthy of a five-star resort, and a jacuzzi, the entire vessel felt spa-like, and it was easy to make myself at home (if my home was a glamorous yacht, that is). Each evening I had a ritual of settling in on the deck with a spritz to watch an epic sunset before heading down to the dining room for a five-course plated dinner featuring local specialties like pancetta in a guava and pineapple BBQ sauce and Galápagos prawns poached in citrus butter. By the time the first half of my trip had ended, I had seen and done more than on 99% of my vacations, while also managing to totally spoil myself.

Diving Into Adventure At Darwin, Wolf, & Beyond

Your typical dive boat is more about function than form — but scuba has its indulgent moments, too. Our cozy cabins were meticulously cleaned up in between dives (a lifesaver when you’re in and out of swimsuits and tracking water everywhere) and coffee delivered to us with the early morning wakeup call, exactly the way we requested it. But the real magic happened on the dive deck, where the entire crew pitched in to prep our gear, dress us, and wash everything after welcoming us back. (As a fellow passenger put it, “You know it’s good service when the captain himself helps you with your wetsuit.”) Every dive ended with a warm outdoor shower, a cup of tea or cinnamon hot chocolate, a homemade snack, a fresh towel wrapped around you, and best of all, lively conversation with everyone onboard about what we had spotted beneath the waves.

Naturally, a top scuba live-aboard should be filled with the greatest extravagance of all: life-changing, soul-shaking diving. Our brilliant instructors gifted us with 18 dives around the archipelago, focusing on the little-visited outlying islands of Darwin and Wolf where a confluence of nutrient-rich, sweeping currents deliver breathless encounters with pelagic megafauna. Clinging to underwater boulders, we marveled as a school of nearly 100 hammerheads — some heavily pregnant — gently undulated past us. Enormous, shimmering bait balls became mazes that we gently finned through. During safety stops, we played with sea lions and dolphins. At the western island of Fernandina, we dove with endemic marine iguanas — the world’s only seagoing lizards — as they fiercely clung to rocks foraging on algae.

Each dive was totally unique, and yet each time we emerged more in awe of — and in love with — this wild stretch of pristine ocean.
