WIDER 32 Superyacht Tender

Wider yachts presents a new superyacht tender: the wider 32..

Designed by Fulvio De Simoni as the perfect tender to the Wider 150 or any other superyacht, this highly versatile model is equally suited to use as a fast, comfortable sports cruiser. The yard is proud to announce the Wider 32 has been launched on schedule and is ready for inspection.

As you would expect from a Wider yacht, the new Wider 32 is easily distinguishable from other express cruisers. Its dominant ax bow and low transom give the impression it is leaping out of the water, eager to slice through the waves. The 9’ 8” beam tapers only slightly towards the bow in order to provide maximum cockpit space and freedom of movement and to facilitate boarding from a mother ship. The cockpit is designed to be easily adapted to the owner’s specific requirements, accommodating as many different configurations as possible from an inviting dining area with folding table to a nice sunbathing platform. The Wider 32 also comes with an adjustable, easily installed awning to shade the entire cockpit.

Below deck, the stylish cabin is furnished with two facing sofas that provide comfortable seating for entertaining or ship-to-shore transportation protected from the weather; they also convert into spacious berths for overnight stays on board. The galley, equipped with a sink, stove ring, and refrigerator, disappears seamlessly into the contemporary cabinetry. A surprisingly large, full-beam head with shower is housed in the bow. Storage for personal belongings is maximized throughout the Wider 32’. The hull is designed to provide a smooth ride and excellent performance. Twin 260-hp Mercruiser Turbo Diesel engines mated to Bravo 1 DTS stern drives deliver a cruising speed of 30 knots and a top speed of 37 knots. This diesel propulsion package also ensures that the tender’s fuel matches that of the mother ship.

Wider President and CEO Tilli Antonelli and his design team have invested thousands of hours into the design and development of the Wider 32’, to ensure that it is practical for use as a tender but also reflects Wider’s philosophy of innovation and initiative. When configured as a tender, the dedicated design, engineering, and construction process behind this innovative vessel make it possible to achieve a perfect symbiosis between the Wider 32’ and the superyacht it serves. But no matter how the ship will be used, Wider offers a high level of customization for the 32’. The owner can select from a wide range of hull and deck, colors, window glass and frames, sun pad and seat configurations, upholstery, and accessories, to make his or her final version of the boat come to life.

Sea trialing the Wider 32 superyacht tender at her launch

The forecasts say that a storm is about to arrive on the Adriatic Sea and heavy clouds rapidly move forward from the West as we rush out the Marina Dorica harbour in Ancona, Italy, to test the newborn in the Wider family, the colourful Wider 32.

The boat speeds up quickly, at 20 knots it planes and in a few seconds largely exceeds the 37 knots indicated in the specs as the top speed. The power-to-weight ratio must be good, since the planing mode of operation is quite smooth and efficient and repeated zigzag manoeuvres with small rudder angle proves the boat's excellent seaworthiness. Powered by twin 260hp Mercruiser Turbo Diesel engines and Bravo 1 DTS stern drive, the boat performs well at all speeds and nimbly crosses the waves. The high bow perfectly accomplish its task granting us a dry and comfortable ride.

Wider introduced the new Wider 32 at the Miami International Boat Show this year, along with plans for its new Wider 165 flagship . The Wider 32 is a sturdy power boat designed to be tender to the larger Widers, the Wider 150 and the 165 currently under construction, but it is also a day-cruiser that will never go unnoticed. The boat displays a captivating look, enhanced by flawless design solutions such as the sinuous, drop-shaped side inserts in a contrasting colour.

The exterior styling, which is terrific, leaves you in no doubt that this design has been produced both to impress and to perform: aggressive, confident, and new. From the imposing axe bow the profile gently tapers towards the stern where two hinged appendages help giving sleekness to the exterior line. A cantilevered swim platform facilitates both boarding and disembarkation operations and a large cockpit hosts guests in an U-shaped settee that can transform into a sunpad.

The high bow section houses a roomy cabin with two facing sofas/beds and a fully equipped galley smartly concealed into the contemporary cabinetry, while a large and light bathroom occupies the bow. The yard developed a 'configurator,' which allows each owner to create his own made-to-measure Wider 32: from hull and deck colours, window glass and frames, seat/sunpads layout, fabrics and accessories, each unit can be fully personilized.

The hull and deck are built from a female mould with vacuum lamination by infusion system with bottom and top sides panels sandwich lamination with closed-cell PVC core, GRP skins and vinylester resin. To grant stiffness both longitudinal and transversal reinforcements are stratified with polyurethane/PVC core, GRP and vinylester resin.

“The name 'Wider' in this case doesn't imply that we offer a boat that is wider if compared to a same sized boat. Wider is our approach, our point of view which let us experiment new roads,' says Tilli Antonelli, Wider's visionary founder, who conceived this new product in conjunction with Fulvio De Simoni. 'We take nothing for granted and always try to offer the market something that doesn't exist yet.'

Wide receiver DJ Chark Jr. signs with the Los Angeles Chargers

The Los Angeles Chargers added some depth to their wide receiver room by signing DJ Chark Jr. on Monday.

Chark had 35 receptions for 525 yards with Carolina last season, and led the team with five receiving touchdowns. He was a second-round pick by Jacksonville in 2018 and spent four seasons with the Jaguars before going to Detroit in 2022.

Chark's best season was in 2019, when he had 73 receptions for 1,008 yards and eight touchdowns.

Wide receiver remains a work in progress for the Chargers after they released Mike Williams and traded Keenan Allen to Chicago in March. They drafted Ladd McConkey in the second round along with Brenden Rice and Cornelius Johnson in the seventh round.

Joshua Palmer is the most experienced player in the group, entering his fourth year, while Quentin Johnston, last year's first-round pick, struggled in his rookie season.
